Frequently asked questions

To begin using the Control4 intercom system, your home must have at least two intercom-enabled devices (like door stations or touch screens) and compatible intercom-enabled devices.

To use your smartphone, you need a compatible Android (v. 5.1+) or iOS (v. 10+) device, an annual Control4 4Sight subscription, and a Control4 user profile for each smartphone user. You then install and log into the Intercom Anywhere app.

From your touch screen, tap the Intercom icon, then select Custom Call. Choose the group of intercom devices you want to include, and tap the group's name to place a broadcast message call. Smartphones will not receive these group calls.

Yes, you can. To monitor a room, enable 'Monitor Mode' in the Settings for the intercom device in the room you wish to listen to (e.g., a baby's room). Then, simply call that intercom device from another device to start monitoring with one-way video and audio.

From a Control4 touch screen, open the intercom menu and tap the Groups icon. Select the intercom devices you want to include, tap Next, type a name for the group, and tap Save. Smartphones cannot be added to intercom groups.
