Before use, read these instruclions carefully, and follow them for
correcl use,
When using as SIS
In order to realize the best performance, we
recommend that the following combination be used.

Notes:
« Because the high cable resislance of a frame with inlernal
cable routing would impair the SIS function, this lype of
frame should not be used.
* For smoolh operation, always be sure 10 use the specified
ouler easing and the bollom bracket cable guide.
* To ensure the best performance, be sure to use only the
specified type of chain. The wide type chain cannot be
used.
* For any questions regarding methods of installalion,
adjustment, maintenance or operalion, please contact a
professional bicycle dealer.

a clearance of 1 - 2 mm

Be sure lo follow the sequence described below
1. Low adjustment
Set so thal the clearance belween the chain guide inner
plale and lhe chain is 0-0.5mm.

Because of the different construction of the new link, the
posilions of the top and low adjustment bolts on lhe FD-
TY22 are reversed from the positions on previous tronl
derailleurs. —

(Replacement of the inner cable
Move Ihe lever in lhe direction of (A) in the illustration
until the holes in the lever body and the wire end
hooking cover are aligned, and lhen pass the inner cable
Ihrough the holes.
2.While pulling lhe inner cable, lighten Lhe
wire fixing bolt wilh a 5 mm allen key lo
secure the cable

4, Troubleshooting chart
Aller completion of sleps 1 - 3, move the shifling
lever lo check the shifting. (This also applies if
shifting becomes difficull during use.)
If the chain falls to the Tighlen ihe top
crank side adjuslmenl screw
clockwise
{about 1/4 turn).
If shifling is difficult Loosen the lop
from lhe intermediate — adjustmeni screw
chainring to the largest counterclockwise
chainring {about 1/8 turn).
If shifting is difficult Loosen lhe low
from ihe intermediate — adjustment screw
chainring lo the counterclockwise
smallest chainring (about 1/4 lurn)

. Connection and securing of the cable
Connecl lhe cable 1o the rear derailleur and,
after taking up the initial slack in the cable,
re-secure lo the rear derailleur as shown in
lhe illustration
Tightening torque:
5-7 Nm {44 - 60 in, lbs.)
Place Ihe inner cable so that it touches the cable saver arm,
and then lighten Lhe cable fixing bolt.

Turn ihe low adjustment screw so Ihal lhe guide pulley moves
to a position directly in line with 1he larges! sprocket.

1. Operale the shilling lever to move Ihe chain from the top gear
to the 2nd gear.
7 IF the chain will not move to the ad 2nd Tap
2nd gear, lurn the ouler casing NN
adjustment barrel to increase the |
lension----- 1 (counter
clockwise)
* If the chain moves past the 2nd
gear,decrease the lension--- 2
(clockwise)
2. Next with the chain on the 2nd gear, increase the inner cable
tension 1 while lurning the crank arm forward. Stop luming the
outer casing adjusiment barrel just before the chain makes
noise against the 3rd gear,
