Frequently asked questions

The artificial hand feature simulates the influence of the human hand on the EMC behavior of the equipment. It is used when performing EMC measurements for devices, which are held in hand during use (for example: electrical drilling machines, hairdryer etc.).

The PE switch allows you to select between a direct grounding of the protective earth line and a protective ground simulation circuit. The direct grounding is used according to VDE 0877 Part 1/03.89, while the protective ground simulation circuit is used according to VDE 0877 Part 1/03.989.

The transient limiter has a frequency range of 150kHz to 30MHz and a transmission loss of 10dB (+1.5/–0.5 dB).

The HM6050-2 uses a BNC connector for the measurement output and a standard German electrical socket for the DUT (device under test). It also has a 4mm banana socket for the artificial hand.

You can connect the HM6050-2 to a spectrum analyzer or test receiver using a two-plug broadband BNC cable. The cable should be connected to the BNC connector labeled "Test Receiver" on the HM6050-2 and to the appropriate input connector on the spectrum analyzer or test receiver.
