SLT NECK & WRIST SEAL
MOUNTING THE NECK SEAL
The SLT system is designed as a modular seal attachment platform providing the opportunity to quickly change a broken, torn or aged seal. It allows you the flexibility to choose from a variety of seals made from neoprene, latex or silicone.
1. Place the Lock Ring on the inside of the seal. Reference photo #3 for correct
orientation of the Lock Ring. Ensure that approximately 1.5cm of the seal is pulled
over the Lock Ring.
2. Put the seal in position over the Neck Ring (mounted on your drysuit) with the Lock
Ring on top of the tapered groove in the Neck Ring.
3 - 4. Put the Neck Tite Tool in position as image displays. By applying force, press the
Lock Ring down into the tapered groove of the Neck Ring so that the Lock Ring
enters the groove and locks into position. Use a flat surface when performing this
operation.

MOUNTING THE NECK SEAL
5. Push the Neck Tite Tool forward along the Lock Ring until all of it has been force
into the groove in the Neck Ring. (Strive to get the same amount of excess part of
seal around the entire assembly, see image 6 of this section)
6. Ensure that the excess part of the seal is similar throughout the entire dressing. We
recommend between 1.5-2cm.
7. Check that the Lock Ring is in position by following the groove 360˚.
8. After completing the seal attachment section, perform a security check: Grab the
end of the seal as the image shows and pull it gently away from the joint to ensure
that it is seated properly. Do not use excessive force! Simulate the same force as
used when donning the suit.

DETACHING THE NECK SEAL
1. Press the Neck Tite Tool towards the bottom of the groove in the Neck Ring. (See
also cross section in image 2 of this section).
2. Press the tool in the direction of the arrow and force the groove in the Neck Ring to
“open up” and start releasing the Lock Ring.
3. When the tool has reached the bottom of the groove, it’s time to use the tool to bend
up the Lock Ring from the groove.
4. Press up the Lock Ring from the groove.
5. When you have successfully released the Lock Ring you can use your fingers to pull
the seal and Lock Ring out of its position. If the same seal will be used again,
please be careful and check for damages on the seal.
Always make a leakage and stress test on your drysuit seals before diving.

MOUNTING THE WRIST SEAL
1. Assemble the wrist seal by inserting it through the Oval Stiff Ring and bringing it back 1.5cm over the ring.
2. Different drysuits, drysuit designs and fabrics demand a different approach when mounting the seal. Refer to images 3-4. NOTE: A silicone seal has a shiny surface on one side and a matte finish on the other. Keep in mind that it is the matte surface that seals against your skin. IMPORTANT: These two images illustrate two different ways of positioning the seal depending on the design and fabric of the drysuit and how the PU-Ring is attached into the drysuit. When you have reached the final step in the mounting process, one of these mounting alternatives will work better than the other. It is important to try assembling the components both ways to see which one works best.
3. Adjust the seal so that it covers the area marked in red and aligns towards the part of the Oval Stiff Ring marked in yellow.
4. The alternative way to do this is to adjust the seal so that it covers the area marked in yellow. Preferred alternative depends on the design of the suit.

ATTACHING TO THE PU-RING
1. Now it is time to mount the Oval Stiff Ring with seal into the PU-Ring on the drysuit.
Read the step by step instructions carefully so as not to damage the seal or mismatch the rings.
2. Keep the seal in a fixed grip and rest the Oval Stiff Ring firmly against your hand, while pressing the rings together. This will prevent the seal from slipping out of position.
3. Squeeze the two rings together, making sure that the seal does not slide out of position.
4. If the seal slips out of the groove, it will almost certainly be squashed between the rings. If this happens, detach and restart from step 1 of the section “Mounting the Wrist
Seal”. Check the seal for damage.
5. Make sure the Oval Stiff Ring is bottomed out and that the ring flange is in the position shown in the image. Before diving, you should check that the Oval Stiff Ring and seal have been fixed in the correct position. Grab the seal with one hand and try to pull it in the opposite direction from the suit without using excessive force. If everything feels okay, perform a test dive. If not okay, refer to steps 3 & 4 of the section “Mounting the Wrist Seal”.
*These are suggested instructions only. Whatever method is chosen, be certain the cuff seal is properly treated. Always make a leak and stress test on your drysuit seals before diving.

DETACHING THE WRIST SEAL ASSEMBLY
1. Grab the assembly as shown in the images. Push the front end of the PU-Ring up and away from the Oval Stiff Ring using your thumbs. At the same time press the back end of the PU-Ring inwards to press the Oval Stiff Ring out of its position to release the whole assembly.

MAINTENANCE & STORAGE
• Remove the Oval Stiff Ring regularly to rinse the cuff seal and/or glove from salt or debris.
• Remove the Oval Stiff Ring if the drysuit shall be stored for prolonged periods. Doing this will decrease stress on the PU-Ring. Long periods of stress on the PU-Ring might result in leakage or other damage to the system.
• Avoid exposing the PU-Ring to heat or sunlight. Subjecting the assembled unit to prolonged heat or sunlight with an inserted cuff seal is not recommended. The PU-material may expand, which could cause leakage.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• A cuff seal provides the seal for the system and must be used at all times, even when the assembly is used in combination with a dry glove system.
• A minimum seal thickness of 0.8mm is recommended. Use of a thinner seal may cause leakage.
• Test the strength and seal integrity before diving.
A NOTE REGARDING SILICONE SEALS
• Even though silicone seals are better in many ways than regular latex seals, they still must be handled with care.
• Even if silicone seals have more stretch than latex seals, do not stretch the seal more than required. Assist yourself with a free hand when pulling the seals over your head or hands, both for the seal and your comfort. Use a product such as talcum, on a regular basis, to minimize frictional strain on the seal and for personal comfort.
• Avoid contact with sharp objects like finger nails or rings when handling seals.
• When trimming seals, use sharp scissors. Cut edges should be as smooth and straight as possible. Do not trim across trim lines.
