Introduction
Thank you for purchasing X-Micro FireWire 1394 PCI Adapter. You bought a product designed to meet highest requirements not only technically, but also in respect to reliability, equipment, and ease of use.
To enjoy your new device for a long time, please carefully read these operating instructions, and observe following notes and tips.

Installation Instructions
• Insert the X-Micro FireWire 1394 PCI Adapter in a free PCI slot in your PC, and then turn-on the computer.
• The Add New Hardware Wizard window appears, see below.
• Click "Next". The next window appears.
• Select "Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)", and click "Next".

• Select "Specify a location", and enter the path of your operating system
(Windows 98 in the example above). Then click "Next".
• Now the system searches the drivers for X-Micro FireWire 1394 PCI
Adapter. Click "Next", to continue the installation.

• When your operating system is Windows 98, the prompt to insert the
Windows 98 SE CD into the CD-ROM drive appears now. Do as prompted, and then click "OK". The installation under Windows ME / 2000 / XP runs automatically.
• Change the drive letter from "C" to the letter of the CD-ROM drive (e.g.
E:\win98), and click "OK".
• Now Windows has finished the driver installation. To complete the installation and to exit the wizard, click "Finish" now.

• Now open the Device Manager via "My Computer". When the "1349 Bus
Controller" is indicated there, the X-Micro FireWire 1394 PCI Adapter is successfully installed, and you can now use the entire range of the device's functions.

Damages caused by improper operation resulting from non-observance of these operating instructions or the safety instructions cause the warranty claim to expire.
