What are the steps for adding hydraulic oil to the device?

To add hydraulic oil, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure all moving parts have stopped and the device is unplugged.
  2. Unscrew and remove the oil drain plug (16).
  3. Turn the device onto its support leg side, as shown in figure 3.1, to allow the hydraulic oil to drain into a container (approximately 4 liters). Handle the oil carefully and follow recycling requirements!
  4. Turn the device onto its motor side, as shown in figure 3.2, and fill with approximately 2.4 liters of fresh hydraulic oil (viscosity 20).
  5. Clean the dipstick surface on the oil drain plug and reinsert it into the oil tank, keeping the device vertical. Ensure the oil level is exactly between the two grooves around the dipstick.
  6. Clean the oil drain plug before screwing it back in. Ensure it is tightened to prevent leaks before placing the device horizontally. Afterward, perform a few splitting cycles without actually splitting wood.

Regularly check the oil level. If the oil level is low, adding oil is necessary.

What steps should be taken if the piston does not return to the initial position?

Ensure the bleed screw (15) is loosened a few turns before operating the machine to prevent air compression in the hydraulic system. Additionally, check the hydraulic fluid level and refill if necessary.

What are the essential steps for correctly operating the hydraulic log splitter?

  1. Ensure the surface is flat and stable. 2. Verify the bleed screw is loose. 3. Place the log flat and adjust the pusher. 4. Use the two-hand control simultaneously (left hand on hydraulic lever (13), right hand on pushbutton switch (8)). 5. Do not force the machine for more than 5 seconds on hard wood. 6. Check the oil level periodically after use.

How is the hydraulic oil level measured?

To measure the hydraulic oil level, first unscrew the oil drain plug (16) with the dipstick, clean it, and then reinsert it into the oil tank while holding the log splitter vertically. Ensure that the oil level is exactly between the two grooves on the dipstick.
