An SD memory card is used as storage for spooling when making multiple copies, for saving secure print/ encrypted print data, and for form data and macros. Initialization deletes stored data.
An SD memory card has three partitions. They are PS, Common, and PCL. When an SD memory card is initialized, each partition is respectively divided into the percentage specified (in the factory default setting, PS: 30%, Common:
50%, PCL: 20%). You can also format particular partitions individually.
If an SD memory card that has been installed to another device is installed to the printer, or if the
SD memory card installed to the printer cannot be detected anymore, [ To SD format, press
[Enter] To shut down, press [Cancel] ] may appear on the display when the printer is turned on. In such a case, press the < ENTER >. (Data stored in the SD memory card is deleted.)
