Overview
You can enjoy iPod audio contents by connecting this unit to an AV system with DIGITAL MEDIA PORT interface (Sony DAV series, etc.).
• You can operate your iPod by its control buttons, the control buttons of
the AV system and the remote supplied with the AV system (page 10).
• You can also use this unit as a battery charger (page 9).

Notes
• DIGITAL MEDIA PORT is occasionally abbreviated as DMPORT.
• TDM-iP10 does not support video output. Even if your iPod has video/photo capability, you cannot view video or photo contents on the TV or other video devices. However, audio content in video files can be played back with a connected
AV system.

To connect/disconnect the unit

Connect the cable so that both f marks are aligned.
To remove the DIGITAL MEDIA PORT cable from the DMPORT jack, press both side buttons.
Connecting

Connect the DIGITAL MEDIA
PORT cable of this unit to the
DIGITAL MEDIA PORT jack of an AV system (DAV series, etc.). Make sure the AV system is turned off before connecting.

Turn on the AV system with a
DIGITAL MEDIA PORT jack connected to this unit, and select the DIGITAL MEDIA
PORT function.
Disconnecting
Before disconnecting, turn off the
AV system.
To put the iPod into the unit’s connector

Choose the iPod Dock Adapter that fits your iPod. For details on supplied iPod Dock
Adapters, refer to the instructions supplied with the
Dock Adapters.

Insert the Dock Adapter into the unit.

Put the iPod into the unit’s connector.
Notes
• When placing or removing the iPod, handle the iPod in the same angle as that of the iPod connector on this unit and do not twist or sway the iPod to prevent connector damage.
• Do not carry the unit with an iPod set on the connector. Doing so may cause a malfunction.
• When placing or removing the iPod, brace the unit with one hand and take care not to press the controls of the iPod by mistake.
To use the unit as a battery charger
You can use the unit as a battery charger. While the POWER indicator lights up, the battery is charging. The charging status appears in the iPod display. For details, see the user’s guide of your iPod.
To remove the iPod Dock
Adapter
To remove the iPod Dock Adapter, pull it up with your fingernail or a flat object using the slot inside the adapter.

Controlling the iPod
Performing basic operations
You can operate your iPod by its control buttons, the control buttons of a connected AV system with a
DIGITAL MEDIA PORT interface (Sony DAV series, etc.), and the remote supplied with the
AV system.
Notes
• To use an iPod, refer to the user’s guide of your iPod.
• Before disconnecting the iPod, pause playback.

• To change the volume level, use the volume controls on the connected AV system or the remote. The volume level does not change even if adjusted on the iPod.
• It may take time to start playback depending on the contents.

Troubleshooting
Should you encounter a problem with your unit, find your problem in the troubleshooting checklist below and take the indicated corrective action. If the problem persists, contact your Sony dealer.
Note that if service personnel changes some parts during repair, these parts may be retained.
When bringing the system in for repairs, be sure to bring in the entire system.
This product is a system product, and the entire system is needed to determine the location requiring repair.
The remote does not function.
• Remove any obstacles.
• Point the remote at the AV system (DAV series, etc.)’s sensor.
• The distance between the remote and the AV system is too far.
• Replace the battery.
• Make sure the iPod* is securely connected.
• Select the DMPORT function on the AV system.
• Turn on and off the AV system.
Video/photo image from the iPod does not appear on the TV screen.
• The unit does not support video output. Even if your iPod has video/photo capability, you cannot view video or photo content on the TV or other video devices.
There is no sound.
• Check the connections.
• Make sure the unit is securely connected.
• Make sure the iPod* is securely connected.
• Make sure the iPod* is playing music.
• It may take time to start playback depending on the contents.
There is severe hum or noise.
• Move the unit away from the source of noise.
The sound is distorted.
• Reduce the volume of the connected AV system.
• Set the “EQ” setting of the iPod to “Off” or “Flat”.

Precautions
On safety
Should any solid object or liquid fall into the system, unplug the system and have it checked by qualified personnel before operating it any further.
On placement
• Do not place the unit in an inclined position.
• Do not place the unit in locations where it is;
– Extremely hot or cold
– Dusty or dirty
– Very humid
– Subject to vibrations
– Subject to direct sunlight.
• Use caution when placing the unit on surfaces that have been specially treated (with wax, oil, polish, etc.) as staining or discoloration of the surface may result.
On heat buildup
• Although the unit heats up during operation, this is not a malfunction.
• Place the unit in a location with adequate ventilation to prevent heat buildup in the unit.

Cleaning the unit
Clean the unit with a soft cloth slightly moistened with mild detergent solution. Do not use any type of abrasive pad, scouring powder or solvent such as thinner, benzine or alcohol.

Dépannage

Sécurité
Si un objet ou du liquide tombe à l’intérieur de l’unité, débranchezla et faites-la contrôler par un technicien qualifié avant de la réutiliser.
Lieu d’installation
• Ne placez pas l’unité en position inclinée.
• Ne placez pas l’unité dans un endroit :
– extrêmement chaud ou froid ;
– poussiéreux ou sale ;
– très humide ;
– soumis à des vibrations ;
– en plein soleil.
• Prenez les précautions nécessaires lors de l’installation de l’unité sur des surfaces traitées (cirées, huilées, vernies, etc.) pour éviter l’apparition de taches ou la décoloration de la surface.
Accumulation de chaleur
• L’unité chauffe pendant le fonctionnement, mais ce n’est pas une anomalie.
• Placez l’unité dans un endroit bien aéré pour éviter toute accumulation de chaleur à l’intérieur.

Nettoyage de l’unité

PORT (serie DAV de Sony, etc.).

U kunt genieten van iPod audio door dit apparaat aan te sluiten op een AVsysteem met een DIGITAL MEDIA PORT-poort (Sony DAV-serie, enz.).
• U kunt uw iPod bedienen met zijn eigen toetsen, maar ook met de toetsen
of de afstandsbediening van het AV-systeem (blz. 10).
• U kunt dit apparaat ook als batterijlader gebruiken (blz. 9).

Opmerkingen
• DIGITAL MEDIA PORT wordt soms ook afgekort als DMPORT.
• TDM-iP10 ondersteunt video-uitvoer niet. Zelfs als uw iPod video- en/of fotomogelijkheden heeft, kunt u de video's en foto's niet bekijken op een televisie of ander videoapparaat. U kunt echter wel het geluid van de videobestanden afspelen op een aangesloten AV-systeem.

Loskoppelen
Voor u het apparaat loskoppelt, dient u het AV-systeem uit te schakelen.
De iPod in de connector van het apparaat plaatsen

Kies de iPod-dockadapter die op uw iPod past. Voor meer informatie over de bijgeleverde iPoddockadapters, raadpleegt u de instructies die bij de dockadapters werden geleverd.

Plaats de dockadapter in het apparaat.

Plaats de iPod in de connector van het apparaat.
Opmerkingen
• Wanneer u de iPod in het apparaat plaatst of eruit haalt, houdt u de iPod onder dezelfde hoek als de iPodconnector van dit apparaat, en verdraait of kantelt u de iPod niet om beschadiging van de connector te voorkomen.
• Draag het apparaat niet terwijl een iPod op de connector geplaatst is. Dit zou een storing kunnen veroorzaken.
• Wanneer u de iPod in het apparaat plaatst of eruit haalt, houdt u het apparaat met één hand vast en zorgt u ervoor dat u de bedieningselementen van de iPod niet per vergissing indrukt.
Het apparaat gebruiken als batterijlader
U kunt het apparaat als batterijlader gebruiken. De batterij wordt opgeladen wanneer de
POWER-indicator brandt. De laadstatus wordt aangegeven op het display van de iPod. Meer informatie vindt u in de gebruikshandleiding van uw iPod.
De iPod-dockadapter verwijderen
Om de iPod-dockadapter te verwijderen trekt u deze met uw nagel of een plat voorwerp omhoog aan de gleuf binnenin de dockadapter.

U kunt de iPod bedienen met behulp van zijn bedieningstoetsen, de bedieningstoetsen van een aangesloten AV-systeem met een
DIGITAL MEDIA PORTinterface (Sony DAV-serie, enz.), en de afstandsbediening die bij het
AV-systeem werd geleverd.
Opmerkingen
• Het gebruik van de iPod is beschreven in de gebruiksaanwijzing van uw iPod.
• Voor u de iPod loskoppelt, dient u de weergave te pauzeren.

Aanvullende informatie
Verhelpen van storingen
Mocht er zich een probleem met uw apparaat voordoen, dan zoekt u in de onderstaande controlelijst uw probleem op en neemt u de aangegeven maatregelen. Als het probleem aanhoudt, neemt u contact op met uw Sonyhandelaar.
Merk op dat als onderhoudspersoneel tijdens de reparatie enkele onderdelen vervangt, deze onderdelen door hen achtergehouden kunnen worden.
Als u het systeem ter reparatie aanbiedt moet u het complete systeem meenemen.
Dit product is een systeemproduct en om uit te zoeken welk onderdeel gerepareerd moet worden, is het complete systeem nodig.
De afstandsbediening werkt niet.
• Verwijder alle hindernissen.
• Richt de afstandsbediening op de sensor van het AV-systeem
(DAV-serie, enz.).
• De afstand tussen de afstandsbediening en het AVsysteem is te groot.
• Vervang de batterij.
• Zorg ervoor dat de iPod* op de juiste wijze aangesloten is.
• Selecteer de DMPORT-functie op het AV-systeem.
• Schakel het AV-systeem aan en uit.
Video/foto van de iPod verschijnt niet op het tvscherm.
• Het apparaat ondersteunt videouitvoer niet. Zelfs als uw iPod video- en/of fotomogelijkheden heeft, kunt u de video's en foto's niet bekijken op een televisie of ander videoapparaat.
Er is geen geluid.
• Controleer of de snoeren goed zijn aangesloten.
• Zorg ervoor dat het apparaat op de juiste wijze aangesloten is.
• Zorg ervoor dat de iPod* op de juiste wijze aangesloten is.
• Zorg ervoor dat de iPod* bezig is met muziekweergave.
• Afhankelijk van de inhoud kan het even duren voor de weergave start.
Er is veel brom of ruis.
• Zet het apparaat verder weg van de storingsbron.
Het geluid is vervormd.
• Verminder het volume van het aangesloten AV-systeem.
• Stel de "EQ"-instelling van de iPod in op "Uit" of "Neutraal".

Voorzorgsmaatregelen
Voor uw veiligheid
Mocht er een vast voorwerp of vloeistof in het systeem terechtkomen, trek dan de stekker uit het stopcontact en laat het systeem eerst door een deskundige controleren alvorens het weer in gebruik te nemen.
Installeren
• Installeer het apparaat niet in een hellende positie.
• Installeer het apparaat niet:
– op uiterst warme of koude plaatsen
– op stoffige of vuile plaatsen
– in een zeer vochtige omgeving
– op plaatsen die aan trillingen onderhevig zijn
– op plaatsen die zijn blootgesteld aan direct zonlicht.
• Wees voorzichtig wanneer u het apparaat op een ondergrond plaatst die een speciale behandeling heeft ondergaan
(met was, olie, polijstmiddel, enz.), aangezien er hierdoor vlekken op de ondergrond kunnen ontstaan of de ondergrond kan gaan verkleuren.
Ontwikkeling van hitte
• Tijdens het gebruik wordt het apparaat warm. Dit is echter geen defect.
• Installeer het apparaat op een plaats met voldoende ventilatie om ophoping van hitte in het apparaat te voorkomen.

Het apparaat reinigen

Sicurezza
