P ull seat depth lever out (1a) (Optional: Insert paperclip wire as shown in 1b) and slide seat forward.

P ush and hold two square black buttons near the rear of the seat (2a) as you slide the seat forward and off (2b).

P ut boost knob in the “boost” position
(middle knob position).
4.
R ecline the back and locate small black tab on beige camlock. Press black tab with
Prybar until it’s in the groove .
5.
A llow back to rock back to upright position while holding Prybar in place. Pry camlock up by pushing Pry bar down toward the chair control.
6.
H old frame as it starts to move back and release from the chair control.

Remove four (4) Back Shell screws.
8.
Push bottom out (8a) and pull up on the
Back Shell to remove (8b) .
NOTE: If chair has a lumbar, refer to page 5 for installing the lumbar onto the Back Shell.
9.
When lumbar is installed, center it between the two lower hooks.
10.
Start with Back Shell top bosses in front of
Back Frame top edge (10a) and Back Shell lower tabs in front of cross bar (10b).
11.
Compress Back Shell to Back Frame to engage all six (6) Hooks, then slide the Shell down .
12.
Reverse step 7 to install four (4) screws into the
Back Shell. Torque to 1.45-1.95 Nm (13-17 in-lbs).

Removal & Installation of the Lumbar for Series 2 Chairs with Lumbar
1.
Follow steps on page 4 for removal of the
Back Insert.
2.
With Back Shell removed, the Lumbar Handles can be removed from the Lumbar Pad. Rotate the
Handle to 45 o (2a), then shift the gap to one end (2b) and rotate Handle to unsnap from Lumbar Pad (2c).

Remove lumbar by sliding it out of the Back Shell slot (3a). Reverse step for installation of lumbar.
Only Handle snaps should protrude from the
Back Shell slot (3b).
4.
Reverse step 2 to reinstall the Lumbar Handles.
NOTE: When adding a Lumbar Pad to a chair that was purchased without one, you will need to remove the Lumbar Filler pieces. To remove, pull out by hand or use a flat bladed screwdriver to pop-out.
5.
Follow steps on page 4 for installation of the Back Shell.

Reinstall Seat Assembly and
Back Assembly
1.
Install seat by sliding seat on rails until it clicks and stops. Adjust seat to assure proper assembly.
