# These twelve holes must be re-drilled to .043" [#57 drill] to accomodate Cambion swage
mount pins [#460-2983-02-04-00] which are to be mounted from the component side of the
TF-1 pcb. These pins will be used as Gain Programming Pins. Programming either 16db or
22db of gain will be accomplished by strapping appropriate pins with bus wire as shown
below.

Install four gold plated phono (RCA) jacks, and ten Cambion swage mount pins.
Solder a 10K/4w(12) resistor in series with a 390pf polystyrene capacitor (2%) between
output pin of phono jack and ground trace of each transformer as shown above.

Transformer is fastened to angle bracket using a 6-32 nut and two split lock washers,
one between the transformer and angle bracket and one between angle, bracket and 6-32
hex nut. |
Transformer wires must be cut to the following lenths,(stripped and tinned 1/8")
RED 2.0" BLUE 1 7/8" VIOLET 1 7/8" ORANGE 2.0" BROWN 2 1/8"
WHITE 24" BLACK 2 3/8"

TF-1 pcb will be mounted onto L-bracket by two 3" high swage mount standoffs [#1604-2].
Three #6 fiber washers must be inserted between standoff & pcb before being fastened to
pcb with 6-32 round head screws. The swage mounting end of the standoff is inserted into
the two holes in the L-bracket.
The two holes on the TF-1 pcb marked with an asterisk(*) are the standoff mounting holes.

Transformer wires are to be cut down to 13" (as measured from the transformer casing)
and the braided shield is to be cut back as far as possible to the casing. All trans-
former leads are to be soldered onto the foil side of the pcb.
Solder a 10K (1%) 4w resistor in series with a 390pf (2%) polystyrene capacitor between
output pin of phono jack (gold) and ground trace of each transformer as shown above.
The four phono jacks must be gold plated.

SELECTION OF GAIN/IMPEDANCE OPTIONS
Bryston's "TF-1" transformers have two gain/input impedance options which can
be selected by shorting the appropriate "programming pins" as shown below.
М.В. "Impedance", as used here, refers to the optimum range of moving coil phono
cartridge impedances that should be used with these transformers.
OPTION 1 : (stock TF-1)
Gain = 22.5 db
Impedance range = 5 - 35 ohms
