General Safety Information

WARNING

“Maintenance interval depends on the usage and riding circumstances. Clean regularly the chain with an appropriate chaincleaner. Never use alkali based or acid based solvents such as rust cleaners. If those solvent be used chain might break and cause serious injury.”

• Use the reinforced connecting pin only for connecting the narrow type of chain.

• There are two different types of reinforced connecting pins available. Be sure to check the table below before selecting which pin to use. If connecting pins other than reinforced connecting pins are used, or if a reinforced connecting pin or tool which is not suitable for the type of chain is used, sufficient connection force may not be obtained, which could cause the chain to break or fall off.

• If it is necessary to adjust the length of the chain due to a change in the number of sprocket teeth, make the cut at some

Reinforced Connecting Pin other place than the place where the chain has been joined using a reinforced connecting pin or an end pin. The chain will be damaged if it is cut at a place where it has been joined with a reinforced connecting pin or an end pin.

• Be careful not to let the cuffs of your clothes get caught in the chain while riding, otherwise you may fall off the bicycle.

• Check that the tension of the chain is correct and that the chain is not damaged. If the tension is too weak or the chain is damaged, the chain should be replaced. If this is not done, the chain may break and cause serious injury.

• It is important to periodically check the tightening torques for the crank arms and pedals. After riding approximately 100 km (60 miles), re-check the tightening torques. If the tightening torques are too weak, the crank arms or pedals may come off and the bicycle may fall over, and serious injury may occur as a result.

• Check that there are no cracks in the crank arms before riding the bicycle. If there are any cracks, the crank arm may break and you may fall off the bicycle.

• Check that the wheels are fastened securely before riding the bicycle. If the wheels are loose in any way, they may come off the bicycle and serious injury may result.

• Obtain and read the service instructions carefully prior to installing the parts.

Loose, worn or damaged parts may cause the bicycle to fall over and serious injury may occur as a result. We strongly recommend only using genuine Shimano replacement parts.

• Obtain and read the service instructions carefully prior to installing the parts. If adjustments are not carried out correctly, the chain may come off and this may cause you to fall off the bicycle which could result in serious injury.

• Read these Technical Service Instructions carefully, and keep them in a safe place for later reference.

CAUTION

• If the chain is on the smallest or intermediate chainring, there is the danger of injury from the tips of the teeth on the largest chainring.

Note

* FD-TY15-GS/TY18/TZ31/TZ30 are Non SIS compatible, and cannot be used in combination with the

SL-RS41-L.

* FD-TZ31/TZ30/TZ21/TZ20 are Non SIS compatible, and cannot be used in combination with the SL-

RS35-L.

• The reinforced connecting pins cannot be used with the UG chain, otherwise the connections will not move properly and noise will occur.

• In addition, if pedaling performance does not feel normal, check this once more.

• Before riding the bicycle, check that there is no play or looseness in the connection. Also, be sure to retighten the crank arms and pedals at periodic intervals.

• When installing the pedals, apply a small amount of grease to the threads to prevent the pedals from sticking. Use a torque wrench to securely tighten the pedals. Tightening torque: 35 - 55 N·m {305 -

479 in. lbs.}. The right-hand crank arm has a right-hand thread, and the left-hand crank arm has a left-hand thread.

• Do not wash the bottom bracket with high-pressure jets of water.

• If you feel any looseness in the bottom bracket axle, the bottom bracket should be replaced.

• If gear shifting operations do not feel smooth, wash the derailleur and lubricate all moving parts.

• If the amount of looseness in the links is so great that adjustment is not possible, you should replace the derailleur.

• The cuffs of your clothing may get dirty from the chain while riding.

• If the chain keeps coming off the chainrings during use, replace the chainrings and the chain.

• When the chain is in the position shown in the illustration, the chain may contact the front chainrings or front derailleur and generate noise. If the noise is a problem,

Front chainrings shift the chain onto the next-larger rear sprocket or the one after.

• Apply grease to the bottom bracket before installing it.

Rear sprockets • For smooth operation, use the specified outer casing and the bottom bracket cable guide.

• You should periodically clean the derailleur and lubricate all moving parts (mechanism and pulleys).

• If gear shifting adjustment cannot be carried out, check the degree of parallelism at the rear end of the bicycle. Also check if the cable is lubricated and if the outer casing is too long or too short.

• If you hear abnormal noise as a result of looseness in a pulley, you should replace the pulley.

• If the wheel becomes stiff and difficult to turn, you should lubricate it with grease.

• Do not apply any lubricant to the inside of the hub, otherwise the grease will come out.

• You should periodically wash the chainrings and sprockets in a neutral detergent and then lubricate them again. In addition, cleaning the chain with neutral detergent and lubricating it can be an effective way of extending the useful life of the chainrings and sprockets and of the chain.

• Use an outer casing which still has some length to spare even when the handlebars are turned all the way to both sides. Furthermore, check that the shifting lever does not touch the bicycle frame when the handlebars are turned all the way.

• Because the high cable resistance of a frame with internal cable routing would impair the SIS function, this type of frame should not be used.

• Operation of the levers related to gear shifting should be made only when the front chainwheel is turning.

• To ensure the best performance, be sure to use only the specified type of chain. The wide type chain cannot be used.

• The ID-C050 gear indicator, SC-C050 speedometer, SC-C051 odometer and SC-C052 clock and stopwatch are available as separate items for the SL-RS41/RS41A/RS31. Please ask your bicycle dealer for further details.

• For maximum performance we highly recommend Shimano lubricants and maintenance products.

• Parts are not guaranteed against natural wear or deterioration resulting from normal use.

• Het is van belang de aantrekkoppels voor de crankarmen en pedalen van tijd tot tijd te controleren. Controleer na het rijden van ongeveer 100 km nogmaals de aantrekkoppels. Als de aantrekkoppels te zwak zijn, bestaat de kans dat de crankarmen of pedalen losraken en dat u met de fiets komt te vallen en ernstig letsel oploopt.

• Controleer of er geen scheurtjes in de crankarmen zijn alvorens met de fiets te gaan rijden. Als er scheurtjes zijn, bestaat de kans dat de crankarm breekt en dat u van de fiets valt.

• Controleer of de wielen stevig bevestigd zijn alvorens met de fiets te gaan rijden.Als de wielen op een of andere manier loszitten, kunnen deze van de fiets losraken, hetgeen ernstig letsel kan veroorzaken.

• Zorg er voor dat u de montage-instructies heeft en lees deze nauwkeurig alvorens de onderdelen te monteren.

Loszittende, versleten of beschadigde onderdelen kunnen tot gevolg hebben dat u met de fiets komt te vallen en ernstig letsel oploopt. Het wordt ten zeerste aanbevolen uitsluitend gebruik te maken van originele Shimano vervangingsonderdelen.

• Zorg er voor dat u de montage-instructies heeft en lees deze nauwkeurig alvorens de onderdelen te monteren. Als de afstellingen niet correct worden uitgevoerd, kan de ketting afglijden en dit kan tot gevolg hebben dat u van de fiets valt en ernstig letsel oploopt.

• Lees deze technische montage-instructies nauwkeurig en bewaar ze op een veilige plaats voor toekomstige referentie.

LET OP

• Als de ketting om de kleinste of middelste kettingring ligt, bestaat het gevaar van letsel door de uiteinden van de tanden op de grootste kettingring.

Opmerking

• FD-TY15-GS/TY18/TZ31/TZ30 zijn bestemd voor gebruik met Niet-SIS en kunnen niet worden gebruikt in combinatie met de SL-RS41-L.

• FD-TZ31/TZ30/TZ21/TZ20 zijn bestemd voor gebruik met Niet-SIS en kunnen niet worden gebruikt in combinatie met de SL-RS35-L.

• De versterkte verbindingspennen kunnen niet worden gebruikt samen met de UG ketting, aangezien anders de verbindingen niet soepel zullen bewegen en er bijgeluiden kunnen ontstaan.

{350 - 550 kgf·cm}. De rechter crankarm heeft rechtse schroefdraad en de linker crankarm heeft linkse schroefdraad.

• Het trapashuis niet reinigen met hogedruk waterstralen.

• Als u voelt dat de trapas speling heeft, dient u het trapashuis te vernieuwen.

• Als het overschakelen van de versnellingen niet soepel verloopt, de derailleur schoon spoelen en alle bewegende onderdelen smeren.

• Als de mate van speling in de verbindingen zodanig is dat afstelling niet mogelijk is, dient u de derailleur te vernieuwen.

• Tijdens het rijden kunnen uw broekspijpen door de ketting vuil worden.

• Als de ketting tijdens het fietsen van de kettingringen blijft afglijden, de kettingringen en de ketting vernieuwen.

• Wanneer de ketting zich in de positie bevindt welke is aangegeven in de illustratie, is het mogelijk dat de ketting de voorste kettingringen of de voorderailleur raakt en geluid voortbrengt. Als het geluid een

Voorste kettingringen probleem is, de ketting naar het volgende grotere achterste versnellingstandwiel of het daaropvolgende tandwiel overbrengen.

• Breng vet aan op het trapashuis alvorens dit te monteren.

• Voor een soepele werking dient men steeds gebruik te maken van de OT-SIS buitenkabel en de trapas-kabelgeleider.

• U dient de derailleur periodiek te reinigen en alle bewegende

• Als afstelling van de overschakeling van de versnellingen niet mogelijk is, de mate van parallellisme aan het achteruiteinde van de fiets controleren. Controleer ook of de kabel gesmeerd is en of de buitenkabel niet te lang of te kort is.

• Als u abnormale geluiden hoort als gevolg van een loszittende poelie, dient u de poelie te vernieuwen.

• Als het wiel stroef gaat en moeilijk te draaien wordt, dient u dit met vet te smeren.

• Breng geen smeermiddel aan op de binnenzijde van de naaf, anders zal het vet naar buiten komen.

• U dient de kettingringen en tandwielen regelmatig in een neutraal reinigingsmiddel schoon te spoelen en deze vervolgens opnieuw te smeren. Bovendien kan het reinigen van de ketting met een neutraal reinigingsmiddel en het smeren een effectieve manier zijn om de gebruiksduur van de kettingringen en tandwielen en van de ketting te verlengen.

• Gebruik een buitenkabel die lang genoeg is, ook voor wanneer het stuur volledig naar beide kanten gedraaid wordt.

Controleer bovendien of de schakelhendel het fietsframe niet raakt wanneer het stuur volledig naar beide kanten gedraaid wordt.

• Als gevolg van de hoge kabelweerstand van een frame met interne kabelgeleiding wordt de werking van het SIS schakelsysteem nadelig beïnvloed. Gebruik van dit type frame dient daarom vermeden te worden.

• De hendels van de versnelling dienen alleen te worden gebruikt als het voorwiel draait.

• Gebruik voor het verkrijgen van optimale prestaties uitsluitend het aanbevolen type ketting. Een ketting van het brede type kan niet worden gebruikt.

• De ID-C050 versnellingsindicator, de SC-C050 snelheidsmeter, de SC-C051 kilometerteller en de SC-C052 klok en stopwatch zijn als afzonderlijke onderdelen verkrijgbaar voor de SL-RS41/RS41A/RS31. Vraag uw fietsdealer voor nadere bijzonderheden.

• Onderdelen zijn niet gegarandeerd tegen natuurlijke slijtage of veroudering dat het gevolg is van normaal gebruik.

Kettenspannung oder bei beschädigter Kette muss die Kette ausgetauscht werden. Eine nicht ausgetauschte

Kette kann reißen und zu einem Sturz führen.

• Es ist wichtig, dass das Anzugsdrehmoment für die Kurbeln und Pedale in regelmäßigen Abständen kontrolliert wird. Nach einer Fahrstrecke von ungefähr 100 km sollte das Anzugsdrehmoment erneut überprüft werden. Bei einem zu kleinen Anzugsdrehmoment können sich die Kurbeln und Pedale lösen, was zu einem Sturz mit schweren Verletzungen führen kann.

• Kontrollieren Sie vor dem Losfahren, ob in den Kurbeln keine Risse vorhanden sind. Risse können zu einem

Bruch der Kurbeln führen, so dass eine hohe Sturzgefahr vorhanden ist.

Hinweis

• FD-TY15-GS/TY18/TZ31/TZ30 sind für die Nicht-SIS und können nicht zusammen mit dem SL-RS41-L verwendet werden.

• FD-TZ31/TZ30/TZ21/TZ20 sind für die Nicht-SIS und können nicht zusammen mit dem SL-RS35-L verwendet werden.

• Für die UG-Kette können keine verstärkten Verbindungsstifte verwendet werden, weil sich die Verbindung nicht richtig bewegen kann und Geräusche auftreten können.

• Überprüfen Sie außerdem diesen Punkt nochmals, falls das Pedalgefühl nicht normal ist.

• Kontrollieren Sie vor dem Losfahren den Festsitz der Verbindung und ob kein Spiel vorhanden ist. Ziehen Sie die

Kurbeln und die Pedale in periodischen Abständen fest.

• Bei der Pedalinstallation muss an den Gewinden etwas Fett aufgetragen werden, damit sich die Pedale nicht festfressen können. Ziehen Sie die Pedale mit einem Drehmomentschlüssel fest. Anzugsdrehmoment: 35 - 55

N·m. Der rechte Kurbelarm besitzt ein Rechtsgewinde, der linke Kurbelarm besitzt ein Linksgewinde.

• Waschen Sie das Tretlager nicht mit einem Hochdruck-Wasserstrahl.

• Falls beim Tretlager ein Spiel festgestellt wird, muss es ersetzt werden.

• Falls kein einwandfreies Schalten möglich ist, müssen Sie den Kettenwechsler waschen und alle bewegten Teile schmieren.

• Falls die Glieder so locker sind, dass eine Einstellung nicht mehr möglich ist, muss der Kettenwechsler ausgetauscht werden.

• Die Hosenumschläge können beim Fahren durch die Kette verschmutzt werden.

• Falls die Kette beim Fahren von den Kettenblättern abspringt, müssen die Kettenblätter und die Kette ausgetauscht werden.

• Wenn sich die Kette in der gezeigten Position befindet, kann sie an den Kettenblättern bzw. am Umwerfer streifen und

Geräusche verursachen. Falls die Geräusche ein Problem darstellen, können Sie die Kette auf den nächst oder den

übernächst großeren Zahnkranz umschalten.

• Vor der Montage die Tretlagerachse mit Fett behandeln.

• Verwenden Sie für eine störungsfreie Betätigung die OT-SIS

Kabelhülle und die Tretlagerführung.

Kettenblätter

Zahnkränze

• Der Kettenwechsler sollte in periodischen Abständen gereinigt und die bewegten Teile (Mechanismus und Rollen) müssen geschmiert werden.

• Falls keine Gangschaltung möglich ist, muss die Parallelität des hinteren Fahrradteils überprüft werden.

Kontrollieren Sie auch, ob das Kabel geschmiert ist und ob die Länge der Kabelhülle richtig ist.

• Falls abnormale Geräusche wegen großem Rollenspiel auftritt, müssen die Rollen ersetzt werden.

• Falls sich das Rad schwergängig drehen lässt, muss es geschmiert werden.

• Wenden Sie auf der Nabeninnenseite keine Schmiermittel an, weil sonst Fett austritt.

• Die Kettenblätter und die Zahnkränze sollten in periodischen Abständen mit einem neutralen Reinigungsmittel gewaschen und danach wieder neu eingefettet werden. Außerdem kann durch die Reinigung der Kette mit einem neutralen Reinigungsmittel die Lebensdauer der Kettenblätter, der Zahnkränze und der Kette verlängert werden.

• Verwenden Sie eine Kabelhülle von ausreichender Länge, so dass das Kabel beim vollständigen Einschlagen des Lenkers nicht angespannt wird. Kontrollieren Sie auch, ob der Schalthebel beim vollständigen Einschlagen des Lenkers den Rahmen nicht berührt.

• Da die schwergängige Betätigung bei Rahmen mit innenverlegtem Kabel die SIS-Funktion beeinträchtigt, sollte dieser Rahmentyp nicht verwendet werden.

• Die Hebel dürfen nur bei sich drehendem Klettenblatt zum Schalten betätigt werden.

• Für eine optimale Leistung darf nur der vorgeschriebene Kettentyp verwendet werden.

Eine breite Kette kann nicht verwendet werden.

• Die Schaltanzeige ID-C050, der Tachometer SC-C050, der Kilometerzähler SC-C051 und die Uhr und die

Les pièces lâches, usées ou endommagées peuvent entraîner le renversement de la bicyclette et des blessures graves. Nous recommandons vivement d'utiliser uniquement des pièces de rechange Shimano.

• Avant de conduire la bicyclette, s'assurer que la connexion n'a pas de jeu ou n'est pas desserrée. Veiller aussi

à resserrer les bras de manivelle et les pédales périodiquement.

• Lors du montage des pédales, appliquer une petite quantité de graisse sur les filetages afin d'empêcher que les pédales se bloquent. Utiliser une clé dynamométrique pour serrer fermement les pédales. Couple de serrage: 35 - 55 N·m {350 - 550 kgf·cm}. Le bras de manivelle droit a un filetage à droite, et le bras de manivelle gauche a un filetage à gauche.

• Ne pas laver le jeu de pédalier avec des jets d'eau à haute pression.

• Si l'essieu du jeu de pédalier présente du jeu, il faut remplacer le jeu de pédalier.

• Si le changement des vitesses ne paraît pas régulier, laver le dérailleur et lubrifier toutes les pièces mobiles.

• Si le jeu des maillons est tel que l'ajustement n'est pas possible, il faut remplacer le dérailleur.

• Les revers de vos vêtements peuvent être salis par la chaîne quand vous roulez.

• Si la chaîne n'arrête pas de se détacher des plateaux pendant l'utilisation, remplacer les plateaux et la chaîne.

• Lorsque la chaîne est à la position montrée sur l'illustration, la chaîne peut entrer en contact avec les plateaux ou le dérailleur avant et produire du bruit. Si le bruit est un problème, faire passer la chaîne sur le pignon immédiatement plus grand ou sur le pignon suivant immédiatement celui-ci.

• Appliquer de la graisse sur le jeu d'axe de pédalier avant d'installer celui-ci.

• Pour un fonctionnement sans problème, utiliser la gaine OT-SIS

• Nettoyer le dérailleur et lubrifier toutes les pièces mobiles périodiquement (mécanisme et galets).

• Si le changement des vitesses ne peut pas être effectué, vérifier le degré de parallélisme à l'arrière de la bicyclette. Vérifier également si le câble est lubrifié et si la gaine est trop longue ou trop courte.

• Si des bruits anormaux se font entendre à la suite du jeu d'un galet, il faut remplacer le galet.

• Si la roue devient rigide et difficile à tourner, il faut la lubrifier avec de la graisse.

• Ne pas appliquer de lubrifiant à l'intérieur du moyeu, sinon la graisse ressortira.

• Laver périodiquement les plateaux et les pignons dans du détergent neutre, puis les lubrifier de nouveau. De plus, le nettoyage de la chaîne avec du détergent neutre et sa lubrification est un moyen efficace de prolonger la durée de vie des plateaux, des pignons et de la chaîne.

• Utiliser une gaine qui a suffisamment de longueur encore disponible même lorsque le guidon est tourné à fond des deux côtés. En outre, vérifier que le levier de changement de vitesses ne touche pas le cadre de la bicyclette lorsque le guidon est tourné à fond.

• Le câble intégré dans le cadre n'a qu'une faible efficacité et ne permet pas un fonctionnement correct du système de changement de vitesses SIS. Ce câble ne peut donc pas être utilisé.

• Les leviers de commande de changement de vitesse ne doivent étre actionnés que lorsque le plateau avant est en rotation.

• Afin d'obtenir les meilleures performances, veiller à utiliser seulement le type de chaîne spécifié. Ne pas utiliser la chaîne de type large.

• L'indicateur de rapport ID-C050, le compteur de vitesse SC-C050, le compte-tours SC-051 et l'horloge chronomètre SC-052 sont disponibles en éléments séparés pour le SL-RS41/RS41A/RS31. Pour plus de détails, s'adresser à son revendeur de bicyclettes.

増し締めを行ってください。

● 車輪の回転が重たくなった場合はグリスアップを行ってください。

● ハブの内部には注油は行わないでください。グリスが流れ出します。

● ギアは定期的に中性洗剤で洗浄し注油してください。また、チェーンの中性洗剤での洗浄及び注油

も、ギア及びチェーンの寿命を延ばすのに効果があります。

● アウターケーブルはハンドルを一杯に操舵しても余裕がある長さのものをご使用ください。また、ハ

ンドルを一杯に操舵した時に変速レバーがフレームに接触しないことを合わせて確認してください。

● インナーケーブル内蔵フレームは、ワイヤー効率が悪くSISが働きにくいため、ご使用できません。

● チェーンは、より良い機能が発揮されるために指定チェーンを使用してください。ワイドタイプチ

ェーンは使用できません。

Se le coppie di serraggio sono troppo lente, i bracci della pedivella o i pedali potrebbero staccarsi e provocare la caduta della bicicletta, col conseguente rischio di gravi lesioni.

• Prima di utilizzare la bicicletta, verificare che non vi sia gioco o che la connessione non risulti lenta. Inoltre, serrare nuovamente i bracci della pedivella e i pedali a intervalli periodici.

• Quando si installano i pedali, applicare una esigua quantità di grasso sulla filettatura per evitare che si blocchino. Utilizzare una chiave torsiometrica per serrare i pedali. Coppia di serraggio: 35 - 55 N·m {350 - 550 kgf·cm}. Il braccio della pedivella di destra ha la filettatura sul lato destro, mentre quello di sinistra ha la filettatura sul lato sinistro.

• Non lavare il movimento centrale con getti d'acqua ad alta pressione.

• Se si riscontra un allentamento del perno del movimento centrale, è necessario sostituire il movimento centrale.

• Se le operazioni di cambio non risultano fluide, lavare il cambio e lubrificare tutti i componenti mobili.

• Se l'allentamento dei collegamenti risulta tale da non rendere possibile la regolazione, è necessario sostituire il cambio.

• Durante la guida, il contatto con la catena potrebbe sporcare i risvolti dei pantaloni.

• Se la catena si sfila ripetutamente dagli ingranaggi durante l'utilizzo, sostituire gli ingranaggi e la catena.

• Quando la catena si trova nella posizione indicata nell'illustrazione, la catena può venire a contatto con le corone anteriori, o i cambi di velocità anteriori, e generare rumore. Se il rumore rappresenta un problema, far scivolare la catena nella ruota dentata posteriore più grande successiva o in quella immediatamente superiore alla successiva.

• Non applicare lubrificante all'interno del mozzo, in caso contrario, il lubrificante potrebbe fuoriuscire.

• È necessario pulire periodicamente le corone e le ruote dentate utilizzando un detergente neutro, quindi lubrificarle nuovamente. Inoltre, per aumentare la durata operativa utile delle corone e delle ruote dentate, si consiglia di pulire la catena con detergente neutro e lubrificarla.

• Usare una guaina che abbia ancora un po' di lunghezza di riserva anche quando il manubrio viene girato completamente in entrambe le direzioni. Inoltre, controllare che la leva del cambio non tocchi il telaio della bicicletta quando il manubrio viene girato completamente.

• Il cavo incorporato neltelaio non è molto efficiente e, se viene usato, e quindi il sistema SIS non può funzionare correttamente. Non farne uso.

• Le leve relative al cambio marcia devono essere fatte funzionare solamente quando la ruota della catena anteriore ruota.

• As coroas e cassetes devem ser lavados periodicamente com detergente neutro e lubrificadas novamente.

Além do mais, a limpeza da corrente com um detergente neutro e a sua lubrificação pode ser uma maneira efetiva de aumentar a vida útil da coroa, dos cassetes e da corrente.

• Utilize um conduite com comprimento suficiente, a fim de compensar o movimento quando o guidâo é virado para ambos os lados. Além disso, verifique se a alavanca de mudança não esbarra no quadro da bicicleta quando o guidâo é virado.

• Uma vez que a alta resistência de um quadro com roteamento interno do cabo, prejudicaria o funcionamento do SIS, não deverá ser utilizado este tipo de quadro.

• A operação das alavancas relacionadas com a troca de marchas só deve ser feita quando a coroa do pedivela estiver em movímento.

• Para obter o melhor desempenho, certifique-se de utilizar apenas uma corrente do tipo especificado. As correntes do tipo largo não poderão ser utilizadas.

Install the brake lever in a position where it will not obstruct brake operation.

Do not use in a combination which causes brake operation to be obstructed.

Leave a gap of 0.5 mm between the Revo-shift lever and the half grip.

Do not remove the Pro-Set alignment block at this time.

2. Connection and securing of cable

While firmly pulling the cable, tighten the fixing bolt with a 9 mm spanner

(TZ31, TZ30, TZ21, TZ20) or a 5 mm Allen key (C051, C050) to secure the cable.

Inserting the inner cable

Insert the inner cable into the outer casing from the end with the marking on it. Apply grease from the end with the marking in order to maintain cable operating efficiency.

Cutting the outer casing

When cutting the outer casing, cut the opposite end to the end with the marking. After cutting the outer casing, make the end round so that the inside of the hole has a uniform diameter.

Attach the same outer end cap to the cut end of the outer casing.

5. Adjustment of the intermediate chainring

Set the chain onto the largest sprocket, and at the front, move the chain from the largest chainring to the intermediate chainring. Adjust using the cable adjusting bolt so that the clearance between the chain guide inner plate and the chain is 0 - 0.5 mm.

6. Troubleshooting chart

After completion of steps 1 - 5, move the shifting lever to check the shifting.

(This also applies if shifting becomes difficult during use.)

If the chain falls to the crank side.

If shifting is difficult from the intermediate chainring to the largest chainring.

If shifting is difficult from the intermediate chainring to the smallest chainring.

If there is interference between the chain and the front derailleur inner plate at the largest chainring.

If there is interference between the chain and the front derailleur outer plate at the largest chainring.

If the intermediate chainring is skipped when shifting from the largest chainring.

If there is interference between the chain and front derailleur inner plate when the rear sprocket is shifted to the largest sprocket when the chainwheel is at the intermediate chainring position.

If shifting is difficult from the largest chainring to the intermediate chainring.

If the chain falls to the bottom bracket side.
