Swegon CONTROL Zone Default Instructions
Swegon CONTROL Zone Default is a versatile and easy-to-use device that can be used to regulate airflow in a variety of applications. With its digital flow measurement and position-independent design, the CONTROL Zone Default can be installed in any orientation without affecting its accuracy.
Some of the key features of the CONTROL Zone Default include:
- Digital flow measurement: The CONTROL Zone Default uses a digital flow sensor to measure airflow, which provides accurate and reliable readings even at low flow rates.
- Position independent: The CONTROL Zone Default can be installed in any orientation without affecting its accuracy. This makes it ideal for applications where space is limited or where the ductwork is not easily accessible.

Installing the CONTROL Za Default zone damper
20190611
Art: 1545 196
Installation
CONTROL Zone can be installed in an optional position in temperate spaces. CONTROL Zone has digital flow measurement that is position independent. In ducts that must be regularly cleaned, FSR clamps should be used for connecting the CONTROL Zone components to the duct system. CONTROL Zone should always be installed with lengths of straight duct as shown in Figure 2.
Installation in false ceilings
If CONTROL Zone is installed above a false ceiling or inside a shaft, the product must be accessible via an inspection hatch.
Figure 1. Installation with mounting brackets (2). If a sound absorber
(4) with or without centre baffle is used, it should be installed with a length of straight duct (3) equivalent to 3xØD from the CONTROL
Zone (1).
Figure 3. Length Requirements of straight duct before the unit in rectangular version, A > 3 x B. The required straight section to the sound attenuator with baffle is 3xB between the damper and sound attenuator.
Min 500 mm
Min 100 mm
Figure 2. Length requirements of straight duct upstream of the unit, dimensional changes are equal to disturbance. For all other disturbances (except illustrated, such as a space bend, mixing box, etc.) 4 times the duct diameter is required upstream of the unit.
Figure 4. Installation space requirements.

Wiring the zone damper supplied as default
Connect the CONTROL Zone to 24 V AC supply voltage and protect the circuit with a max. 6 A fuse. Wire all other connections to Modbus and other components according to the wiring instructions. The products are supplied preset as default without defined use, the motor and pressure signal conductors must be connected to the correct terminals depending on function, as well as be reset to the correct function. The default variant cannot be changed to PED.
Requirements on wire cross-sectional areas
To calculate the correct cross-sectional area for wiring to power supply, use Swegon’s wiring- and transformer sizing program on www.swegon.com.
The signal conductor from (3) to (1) max 30 m at 0.75 mm 2 . A

Commissioning/Configuration
The products are neutral when they are supplied and must therefore be configured using a TUNE Control so that the right function will be obtained. See the tables below and the manual for TUNE Control.

Pressure regulation and flow measurement in the supply air duct.
Pressure regulation and flow measurement in the extract air duct.
Pressure regulation in the supply air duct. Slave Zone of the extract air with a SLAVE Zone. Used most often when a supply air duct should control an extract air duct with or without offset. The PSFE option requires the accessory
SLAVE Zone.
Flow regulation in the supply air duct. Is most often used for constant flow regulation.
Flow regulation in the extract air duct. Most often used when
Super WISE calculates the flows to be regulated.
PED Pressure regulation in the extract air with reverse operation where the GOLD unit or zone dampers is/are used for balancing the airflow
MSFE Measurement of airflow in the supply air duct. Slave control of exhaust air with SLAVE Zone. MSFE functionality requires that the product is combined with accessories, SLAVE Zone.

Optimisation of the supply air duct
Optimisation of extract air duct
OSOE Optimisation of both supply- and extract air duct.
OSFE Optimisation of the supply air duct. Slave control of extract air duct with SLAVE Zone. Is used to extract as much air as supplied to the zone. Separate offset can be set.
Parameter codes
These codes are translated to a numeric value that is prog ramm ed in the controller, see table below. PSFE is a default. The functions PED and MSFE require software version 0.88 or later.
If the Combination, PSFE with SLAVE Za, has different dimen sions, then the data for the SLAVE damper must be changed.
