Safety Warnings

Please read these instructions carefully before using the kettle for the first time.

Before power connection, make sure your electricity supply is the same as the one shown on the underside of your kettle.

The kettle will switch off automatically. You may switch the kettle off manually by using the on/off switch.

After the kettle has switched off automatically (or has been switched off manually) allow to cool down at least 30 seconds before switched on another boiling cycle.

If the kettle ever boils dry, allow 15 minutes to cool before refilling with cold water. The safety cutout will automatically reset during this time.

Always place the kettle on a stable flat surface.

Never immerse the kettle, powerbase or cord in water or any other liquid. Do no allow liquid to penetrate the electrical parts of this kettle.

Never let the cord hang down where a child could grab it or knock the kettle over.

The outside surface of the kettle gets hot during use, take care when using the kettle.

Never fill in water more than the maximum acceptable water level.

Always use the filter and never overfill - boiling water may splash out.

WARNING! Do not remove or open lid while the water is boiling.

Make sure the kettle is switched off before lifting from its stand or pouring.

Avoid contact with steam coming out of the spout area when pouring and out of the lid or spout area when refilling.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

Only use the cord & powerbase supplied with this kettle. If a replacement is required, only approved components can be used.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliances by a person responsible for their safety.

WARNING: This appliance includes a heating function. Surfaces, other than the functional surfaces may develop high temperatures.

Since temperatures are perceived differently by different people, this device should be used with CAUTION. Hold the appliance exclusively to grip surfaces intended to hold and use such heat protection measures as heat protection Gloves or pot holders. Areas which are not intended to grips must be given sufficient time to cool.

Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Always unplug before the appliance is cleaned and the power connectors must be dried before the appliance to be used.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.

SPECIAL ATTENTION

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

-Fill the kettle up to max water level and bring to a boil. It is highly

recommended that you fill, boil and empty the kettle at least 3 times

to clear the kettle of any particles, metal or plastic taste and to give

the rubber seals a chance to settle.

-If the bad taste is still found after boiling the water for several times,

please return it to your nearest Argos store.

The blue wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N or coloured black.

The brown wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter L or coloured red.

If a 13 Amp (BS1363) fused plug is used it must be fitted with a 13A fuse conforming to BS1362 and be ASTA approved.
