1. Work area safety a. Keep work area clean and well lit.

Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.

b. Do not operate the compressor in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.

Compressor motors produce sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.

c. Keep children and bystanders away from an operating compressor.

2. Electrical safety

Do not expose compressor to rain or wet conditions.

Water entering a compressor will increase the risk of electric shock.

3. personal safety a. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating this compressor. Do not use this compressor while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.

A moment of inattention while operating a compressor may result in serious personal injury.

b. Use personal protective equipment.

Always wear AnSi-approved eye protection during setup and use.

c. prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source or moving the compressor.

4. compressor use and care a. Do not use the compressor if the switch does not turn it on and off.

Any compressor that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.

b. Remove the battery pack before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the compressor.

Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the compressor accidentally.

c. Store an idle compressor out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the compressor or these instructions to operate it.

A compressor is dangerous in the hands of untrained users.

d. Maintain the compressor. Keep the compressor clean for better and safer performance. Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.

Keep dry, clean and free from oil and grease. check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the compressor’s operation. if damaged, have the compressor repaired before use.

Many accidents are caused by a poorly maintained compressor.

5. Service a. Have your compressor serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts.

This will ensure that the safety of the compressor is maintained.

Air compressor Safety Warnings

1. Risk of fire or explosion - do not spray flammable liquid in a confined area or towards a hot surface. Spray area must be well-ventilated.

Do not smoke while spraying or spray where spark or flame is present. Arcing parts - keep compressor at least 20 feet away from explosive vapors, such as when spraying with a spray gun.

2. Risk of bursting - do not adjust regulator higher than marked maximum pressure of attachment.

3. Risk of injury - do not direct air stream at people or animals.

4. Do not use to supply breathing air.

5. Keep compressor well-ventilated.

Do not cover compressor during use.

6. Drain Tank daily and after use. Internal rust causes tank failure and explosion.

7. Do not remove the valve cover or adjust internal components.

8. Compressor head gets hot during operation.

Do not touch it or allow children nearby during or immediately following operation.

9. Do not use the air hose to move the compressor.

10. Release the pressure in the storage tank before moving.

11. The use of accessories or attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may result in a risk of injury to persons.

12. All air line components, including hoses, pipe, connectors, filters, etc., must be rated for a minimum working pressure of 150 PSI, or 150% of the maximum system pressure, whichever is greater.

Industrial applications must follow OSHA guidelines.

13. Maintain labels and nameplates on the compressor. These carry important safety information. If unreadable or missing, contact

Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.

14. This product is not a toy.

Keep it out of reach of children.

15. Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles and heavy-duty work gloves during use.

16. Do not expose to rain or wet conditions.

17. People with pacemakers should consult their physician(s) before use. Electromagnetic fields in close proximity to heart pacemaker could cause pacemaker interference or pacemaker failure.

18. Do not leave the tool unattended when the

Battery Pack is connected. Turn off the tool, and remove the Battery Pack before leaving.

19. The battery Charger gets hot during use. The Charger’s heat can build up to unsafe levels and create a fire hazard if it does not receive adequate ventilation, due to an electrical fault, or if it is used in a hot environment.

Do not place the Charger on a flammable surface.

Do not obstruct any vents on the Charger.

Especially avoid placing the charger on carpets and rugs; they are not only flammable, but they also obstruct vents under the charger.

Battery tool use and care

1. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to battery pack, picking up or carrying the power tool. Carrying the power tool with your finger on the switch or energizing power tool that have the switch on invites accidents.

2. Disconnect the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tool. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.

3. Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.

4. Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.

5. When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.

Place the Charger on a stable, solid, nonflammable surface (such as a stable metal workbench or concrete floor) at least 1 foot away from all flammable objects, such as drapes or walls. Keep a fire extinguisher and a smoke detector in the area.

8. Do not expose a battery pack or power tool to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 265°F may cause explosion.

9. Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack or power tool outside of the temperature range specified in the instructions.

Charging improperly or at temperatures outside of the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.

10. Have servicing performed by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the product is maintained.

11. Do not modify or attempt to repair the power tool or the battery pack except as indicated in the instructions for use and care.

Breaking in Air compressor

1. Turn Power Switch OFF and remove battery pack.

2. Fully open Drain Valve.

3. Insert fully charged Battery Pack(s).

4. Turn Power Switch ON.

Air connection Setup

1. Connect 1/4″ NPT air hose (sold separately) to the Air Outlet. The air hose must be long enough to reach the work area with enough extra length to allow free movement while working.

• Using PTFE tape, connect 1/4" industrial fittings (sold separately) to air hose.

5. Let unit run for 30 minutes. Air will expel freely through the Drain Valve.

6. Turn Power Switch OFF.

7. Remove Battery Pack(s) and close Drain Valve.

Operating instructions

Work Area Set Up

1. Designate a work area that is clean and well-lit.

The work area must not allow access by children or pets to prevent injury.

2. Locate the Air Compressor on a flat level surface to ensure proper pump lubrication and to prevent damage to the unit. Keep at least 12″ of space around the unit to allow air circulation.

General Operation

1. Close Drain Valve.

2. Close Regulator.

3. Turn Power Switch OFF.

4. Insert fully charged Battery Pack(s).

5. Turn Power Switch ON.

6. Allow Air Compressor to build up pressure until it cycles off.

note: At beginning of the day’s first use, check for air leaks by applying soapy water to connections while Air Compressor is pumping and after pressure cut-out. Look for air bubbles. If air bubbles are present at connections, tighten connections. Do not use Air Compressor unless all connections are air tight, extra air leaking out will cause Air Compressor to operate too often, increasing wear on Air Compressor.

note: As long as Power Switch is ON, operation of

Air Compressor is automatic, controlled by an internal pressure switch. Air Compressor will turn on automatically when air pressure drops to 105 PSI, and will turn off automatically when air pressure reaches

135 PSI.

Do not adjust the internal pressure switch. Any change to the automatic pressure levels may cause excess pressure to accumulate, causing a hazardous situation.

Air tools

note: Consult air tool’s manual for needed accessories.

1. Make sure air tool’s throttle or switch is in OFF position. Thread air tool onto 1/4″ Plug.

2. Adjust Regulator so that air output is enough to properly power tool, but output will not exceed tool’s maximum air pressure at any time. Turn Regulator clockwise to increase pressure and counter-clockwise to decrease pressure. Adjust pressure gradually, while checking Air Outlet Gauge to set pressure.

4. When finished, turn Power Switch OFF.

5. Remove Battery Pack(s).

6. Bleed air from tool then disconnect tool.

7. Drain Tank according to Draining Moisture from Air Tank on page 11.

8. Clean, then store Air Compressor indoors out of children’s reach.

1. car and bicycle tires: a. Close Regulator.

b. Thread Tire Inflator onto 1/4" Plug.

3. d. Insert Ball Needle into ball. e. Set Regulator to ball’s rated pressure.

f. Close Regulator immediately after rated pressure is achieved.

g. Remove Ball Needle.

h. When finished, turn off Compressor.

Small inflatables: a. Close Regulator.

b. Thread 1/8″ Adaptor onto 1/4″ Plug.

c. Thread Tapered Inflator into 1/8″ Adaptor.

c. Remove tire’s valve cap.

d. Push Inflator firmly over tire’s valve stem.

e. Set Regulator to tire’s rated pressure.

f. Close Regulator immediately after rated pressure is achieved.

g. Remove Inflator. h. When finished, turn off Compressor.

2. Sports Balls: a. Close Regulator. b. Thread 1/8″ Adaptor onto 1/4″ Plug.

c. Thread Ball Needle into 1/8" Adaptor. d. Insert Tapered Inflator into inflatable.

e. Set Regulator to 10 PSI. f. Close Regulator when item is properly inflated.

g. Remove Tapered Inflator.

h. When finished, turn Power Switch OFF.

7. Close Regulator when item is properly inflated.

Emergency Depressurization

If it is necessary to quickly depressurize the Air Compressor, turn the Power Switch OFF.

Then, pull on the ring on the Safety Valve to quickly release stored air pressure.

Automatic Shut off System

1. If Air Compressor automatically shuts off before reaching its normal cutoff pressure: a. Shut off all tools.

b. Turn Power Switch to OFF position.

c. Wait until Air Compressor cools down

(about 10 minutes).

d. Turn Power Switch ON.

e. Resume operation.

2. Possible causes of repeated automatic shut off of the Air Compressor are: a. An air leak or open hose causing the Air Compressor to cycle too often and build up heat; b. Turning Air Compressor off and on again too quickly.

3. Correct any issues before further use to avoid damage to Air Compressor.

Maintenance and Servicing

Do not use damaged equipment. if abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the problem corrected before further use.

cleaning, Maintenance, and lubrication

1. BEFORE EAcH USE, inspect the general condition of air Air Compressor. Check for:

• loose hardware,

• misalignment or binding of moving parts,

• cracked or broken parts,

• damaged electrical wiring, and

• any other condition that may affect its safe operation.

2. AFtER USE, wipe external surfaces of

Air Compressor with a clean cloth.

3. WARninG! tO pREVEnt SERiOUS inJURy: if the supply cord of this Air compressor is damaged, it must be replaced only by a qualified service technician.

Maintenance Schedule

Following are general guidelines for maintenance checks of the Air Compressor.

note: The environment in which the Air Compressor is used, and the frequency of use will affect how often you will need to check the Air Compressor components and perform maintenance procedures.

Daily: a. Make sure all nuts and bolts are tight.

b. Drain moisture from air tank.

c. Check for abnormal noise or vibration.

d. Check for air leaks.

* e. Wipe off any oil or dirt from the Air Compressor.

Weekly: a. Inspect Air Filter.

Monthly: a. Inspect Safety Valve.

* To check for air leaks, apply soapy water to joints while the Air Compressor is pressurized. Look for air bubbles.

Draining Moisture from Air tank

The Moisture Drain is located under the Tank. It must be used daily to release all trapped air and moisture from the Tank. Doing this will eliminate condensation and prevent tank corrosion.

1. Turn Power Switch OFF.

3. Turn Drain Valve to open it. Tilt

Compressor forward to drain.

2. Place a collection pan under Drain Valve.

4. When all pressure and moisture are released, close Drain Valve.

Air Filter Maintenance

1. Remove Cover and Filter. Check

Filter for accumulated dirt.

2. cleaning: a. To prevent injury from dust and debris, wear ANSI-approved safety goggles,

NIOSH-approved dust mask/respirator, and heavy-duty work gloves. In a well-ventilated area away from bystanders, use pressurized air

(no more than 15 PSI) to blow dust out of filter.

b. Replace clean filter. c. Replace Cover.

2. Remove Battery Pack, make sure there are no obstructions, reinsert the Battery Pack according to its shape (it should only fit one way), and press firmly until the Battery Pack locks in place.

3. Make sure Charger is connected and operating properly.

Give enough time for Battery Pack to recharge properly.

4. Dispose of old Battery Pack properly or recycle.

Replace Battery Pack.

5. Have unit inspected by a qualified technician.

1. Dispose of old Battery Pack properly or recycle.

2. Move compressor to a warmer location.

3. Listen for air leaking from valve.

If leaking, replace with identical valve with same rating.
