Software Update Version 4.21
December, 2013
Introduction
If the software version of your BMP9 is earlier than Version 4.21, an update program is now available for download to improve its performance.
Version 4.21 update will provide the following changes:
1.
Fixed the situation where the machine may not work correctly after the error message was displayed by selecting the appliqué setting.
2.
Improved so that the embroidery pattern moves by 0.1 mm when the arrow keys are pressed on the pattern editing screen.
When you press and hold the arrow keys, the pattern moves by 5 mm.
To confirm the software version of your BMP9
1.
Press the power switch to turn on your machine. The LCD screen comes on.
2.
Touch anywhere on the initial screen and then touch “OK”.
3.
Touch (Settings key) at the bottom of the LCD display. The Settings screen appears.
4.
Switch screens by using software version.

If the version shown on your machine is already Version 4.21 or later, it is not necessary to update your machine with the program on this page.
How to download the update program
1.
Create a temporary folder on your computer (ex. C:\Temp) to save the update program file to be downloaded.
2.
Click the “DOWNLOAD FILE” below.
3.
Select the previously created temporary folder (ex. C:\Temp) where the downloaded file should be stored.
4.
Download the file.

How to update your machine’s software
The following two methods are available to update your machine’s software.
1.
Update procedure using USB Flash Drive (USB Flash memory)
2.
Update procedure using a computer connection (USB Function)
Follow the procedure described in the instruction manual.

When using USB Flash Drive (USB Flash memory) to update the machine’s software, check that no data except for the update file is saved on the USB Flash
Drive (USB Flash memory) being used before beginning update.
When using a computer connection to update the machine’s software, check your computer’s operating system.
USB functionality is only available to be used with Microsoft Windows Me/
2000/ XP/ Vista/ 7/ 8.

Update History
Version 4.20 update provided the following changes
1.
Fixed the situation where the embroidery pattern was not rotated 180 degrees if the embroidery frame was changed from a cap frame to a different type of frame or from a different type of frame to a cap frame when the machine finished sewing the pattern using the Link function.
Version 4.01 update provided the following changes
1.
Fixed the situation where the machine may not cut short jump stitches when "thread trimming" setting is "ON" in the Settings screen.
Note:
To cut short jump stitches, use embroidery data created with Palette 9
(.pes file version is 9.0 or later).
Version 4.00 update provided the following changes
1.
The pause marks are displayed where the machine will stop for the appliqué patterns at the thread color sequence display.
2.
Improved so that the appliqué patterns with "APPLIQUE MATERIAL", "APPLIQUE
POSITION" or "APPLIQUE" are assigned to the same needle bar.
3.
Changed so that the range of "Appliqué Distance" is between 0.0 mm and 10.0 mm
(between 0" and 0.4") in the Settings screen.
Version 3.10 update provided the following changes
1.
Improved the performance for displaying the image on the LCD.
Improves response time when touching keys on screen.
2.
Reduced the time for tracing corners of pattern when checking the embroidery area.
3.
Added the three keys for switching the frame movement speed to move the embroidery position.
4.
The embroidery time indicator on the LCD updates every minute.

Added the "Reset" key to cancel the temporary needle bar setting position.

Thread color setting for previously stitched designs can be “Reset”

Version 3.00 update provided the following changes
1.
Added 10 new embroidery patterns.
2.
Added the operation keys to cancel the thread color settings for previously stitched designs.
3.
Added the operation keys to move 500 stitches back or ahead.
4.
Added the operation key to edit combined patterns as a group.
5.
Added the operation keys to move the needle back or forward when the error message for checking upper and bobbin thread appears.
6.
Pattern will be displayed in the selected color when in the uninterrupted embroidering mode (Monochrome).
7.
Reduced the time for displaying the Pattern List screen.
Version 2.12 update provided the following changes
1.
Revised wording of an error message (French).
Version 2.11 update provided the following changes
1.
Improved the Link function.
Note:
To use this function, it is necessary to update your Palette 9 to Version 9.1 or later.
To update your Palette 9, visit the Downloads page for Palette 9.

Fixed the situation where the machine may make an extra stitch just before each thread color change when embroidering a Tajima (.dst) file.
3.
Fixed the situation where the machine may reboot when loading an incorrect .phc file.
4.
Fixed the situation where the setting of "PES Thread Code" may not work correctly.
Version 2.01 update provided the following changes
1.
Fixed the situation where an embroidery pattern may not be saved into the machine's memory, USB Flash Drive (USB Flash memory) or computer correctly when using a cap frame.

Fixed the situation where the setting to trim threads between characters in alphabet patterns does not work correctly when the jump stitch trimming is "ON" in the setting screen.
Version 2.00 update provided the following changes
1.
The following new features have been added with Version 2.00.

The Link function has been added.
You will be able to display the thread color for “PES” format data according to the machine setting, or from the Palette, Palette petite of Palette PTS (embroidery editing software).
・ The length of time until the embroidery machine will stop can be viewed in the embroidering screen.
・ If the temporary needle bar setting has been applied, the icon ( ) indicating the selected needle bar in the embroidering screen can now be viewed.
・ Additional characters have been added to several of the alphabet font patterns ( ).

Stitch generation was changed so that extra stitches are not sewn when the “space” character is selected during text embroidery.
3.
Improved the starting needle point to 180 degrees when rotating large split designs when imported as PES data.
4.
Improved the position of rotating the pattern 180 degrees when embroidering with a cap frame.

Improved the data recognition for .phc file saved by previous models (EMP6/ BMP6/
BMP8).
Version 1.05 update provided the following changes
1.
Fix the situation where the machine will recognize the Tajima (.dst) embroidery data correctly in design patterns which are more than approximately 200mm (8 inches) in width.
2.
Fix the situation where the machine will recognize the Cylinder Frame correctly.
3.
Split embroidery patterns can be rotated over 90 degrees.
