White Undercoat
Product Features
White Undercoat is a water ‐ based primer for pro ‐ fessionals and industrial facili es wan ng a fast ‐ drying, easily ‐ sandable, high ‐ build primer. It is for ‐ mulated to spray from the can without having to thin.
Recommended Uses
As a basecoat underneath any interior project with a white or o ff‐ white wood fi nish like White Poly or Brush ‐ able White Enamel. Par cularly e ff ec ve on MDF.
For tannin ‐ blocking, use GF Stain Blocker
Complies w/ the following air quality regula ons:
SCAQMD, CARB, Canada, OTC Phase I & Phase II
Applica on Condi ons: Recommended 70°F and 50% humidity, out of direct sunlight. Varia ons in condi ons and applica on technique can signi fi cantly a ff ect dry mes and coverage. Use GF Accelerator in cool or humid condi ons. Use GF Extender in warm or dry condi ons.
Surface Prep: Always ensure the surface is clean of contaminants and dust. Sanding any surface too smoothly can reduce adhesion and cre ‐ ate applica on issues like orange peel.
Raw Wood: Sand with no fi ner than 220 grit.
Pre ‐ fi nished Wood: Clean using 50/50 mix of denatured alcohol and water with maroon non ‐ woven pad. Sand with fi ne (220 ‐ 320) foam sanding pad or maroon non ‐ woven pad.
Other Substrates: Always test fi rst.
Sanding Between Coats: Using fi ne (220 ‐ 320) foam sanding pad or gray non ‐ woven pad.
System Recommenda ons: Topcoat with GF White Poly or Brushable
White Enamel. For any surface with poten al for tannin/color bleed, prime with GF Stain Blocker.
Force Dry: Allow product to fl ash for 10 minutes at ambient tempera ‐ ture. Using infrared lamps or oven, heat surface to 105°F. Allow to cool before sanding. Allow a minimum of 30 minutes between coats.
Storage & Shelf Life: Above 50°F and below 80°F, out of direct sun ‐ light, ghtly sealed. Finish preservers such as Bloxygen can help pro ‐ long storage life. Best if used within one year of date on can. Uno ‐ pened and properly stored fi nish can conserva vely last up to 5 years.
Disposal: Always dispose of any le over coa ngs in accordance with local laws. Do not pour down the drain.
