Bleed-type Master Air Valve (B)

Trapped air can cause the pump to cycle unexpectedly, which could result in serious injury from splashing or moving parts.

The bleed-type master air valve is required in your system to relieve air trapped between it and the air motor when the valve is closed.

Air Regulator (C)

Adjusts air pressure to the motor and fluid outlet pressure of pump. View the gauge (D) to read air pressure.

Air Filter (E)

Removes harmful contaminants from entering the air control module and air motor.

Safety Relief Valve (F)

Automatically opens to relieve air pressure, to prevent pump overpressurization.

Frequently Answers and Questions

What safety precautions should be taken when operating the air control module?
Wear appropriate protective equipment, including eye protection, clothing and respirator as recommended by the fluid and solvent manufacturer, gloves, and hearing protection.
What is the purpose of the bleed-type master air valve?
The bleed-type master air valve is required to relieve air trapped between it and the air motor when the valve is closed, preventing the pump from cycling unexpectedly and causing injury.
How do I adjust the air pressure?
Turn the air regulator knob clockwise until the air pressure reaches the desired setpoint, as indicated on the air pressure gauge.
How do I lock the pressure setpoint on the locking regulator?
Push the air regulator knob in to lock the pressure setpoint.
What is the procedure for shutting down the air control module?
Close the bleed-type master air valve.
What is the cause of air leaking from the regulator housing or unstable regulated pressure?
Possible causes include a loose or worn diaphragm, worn seat or poppet, or worn main spool seals or relief valve.
How do I replace the filter element?
Close the bleed-type master air valve, remove the filter bowl with a wrench, remove the old filter element, install the new filter element, and reinstall the bowl 1/4 turn past handtight.
How do I replace the air gauge?
Relieve pressure, unscrew the old gauge using a 7/16 open-end wrench, apply PTFE tape to the threads before installing the new gauge, and tighten it securely.
