Wispa Portable T frame gantry assembly instructions
Notes:
If the gantry is to be assembled over a bed
Never assemble the gantry over a bed if it is occupied. The gantry should be assembled away from a bed and then positioned afterwards (as a guide this would be approximately 900mm from the head board).
1. Unpack all components
Parts supplied as follows
2 x OHA0123
–Gantry track bracket (pre-fitted to gantry vertical section)
2 x OHA0124 – Gantry base white painted
2 x OHA0125
– Gantry upright vertical
8 x CHCS091 – M10 x 55MM Hex head bolt
8 x COM1091
– M10 white nut cover
12 x COM1400 – M10 st/steel washer
4 X COM1184 – M6 x 16 skt/cap screw
4 X CH0525
– M10 articulating adjustable foot
1 X OHTRK1 -2.5Mtr Wispa long track (white)
1 x Allen Key
OHTRK16 – Double trolley wheel assembly
( supplied with wispa lite hoist )
Tools required 1 x 17mm spanner, allen key (provided)
2. Assembly
The T Frame gantry is supplied in five parts with the gantry base and the uprights supplied fitted together for ease of transport, to adjust for height remove the two M10 X 55mm bolts that hold the vertical upright within the T shaped gantry base.
Adjustment can be made between 2060mm at it’s lowest to a maximum height of 2380mm,fixing to the desired height is achieved by aligning the M10 X 55 blots to the fixing holes in the uprights of the gantry base and vertical section bolts are pushed through both sections and secured with a M10 stainless steel nyloc nut.
Repeat for other side.
Note: Articulating feet at the base of the gantry bases are for allowing leveling on uneven floor surfaces not for height adjustment
3. Assembling the centre hoist track section
Slide the hoist track pt. no OHTRK1 into the track bracket pt no OHA0123 and tighten the two grub screws pt. no’s COM1184 using allen key provided to secure the track into the bracket (see below)
Repeat for other side.
Note: trolley set pt no OHTRK16 should be fitted prior to second bracket being secured
4. Adjusting the height of the gantry
The gantry should be level in all directions.
If the height of the gantry needs to be raised. fixing bolts will require removal and the top section adjusting to the specified height . Secure with the fixing bolts provided.
Repeat for other side.
Note:If you raise the height of the legs do it from the wall side first.
5. Attaching the Wispa Lite Portable hoist
Rest the Portable hoist on the bed or trolley ready for attaching to the eye on the gantry. Release sufficient tape to connect the carabina on the hoist to the eye on the gantry.
Note: Do not lift the hoist to attach it to the gantry.
6. Final safety check
Prior to hoisting a client check:
- All fixing bolts have been securely tightened
- The gantry is level in all directions and level on floor
- The height and width of the gantry are appropriate for the task e.g.
There is sufficient space to position a wheelchair or shower chair at the side of the bed for transfer
The gantry is now ready for use. Slide the hoist across the gantry to the desired position ready to lift/transfer the client.
Disassembly of the gantry
1. Do not lift the hoist. Lower the hoist by releasing sufficient tape to disconnect the carabiner on the hoist from the eye on the gantry.
Remove the hoist from the gantry.
