IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical equipment, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:

READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

1. DANGER - Risk of shock- Disconnect power before installation.

2. This luminaire must be installed in accordance with the NEC or your local electrical code. If you are not familiar with these codes and requirements, consult a qualified electrician.

3. These luminaires are thermally protected. Do not install insulation within 3 inches

(76 mm) of fixture sides or junction box or above fixture in such a manner as to entrap heat.

4. Notice - Thermally protected luminaire. Blinking light may indicate insulation too close to fixture (or other condition causing overheating).

5. This luminaire must be supported by main runners or other building structure that is capable of supporting fixture weight.

6. Some products may require marked spacings for installation, refer to luminaire label for specific spacing requirements.

LUMINAIRE INSTALLATION

STEP 1:

NOTE: If installing in a drop-ceiling, first cut the appropriate size opening. Refer to the following table for cutout dimensions. Then continue with the luminaire installation. If installing in a plaster ceiling, first install the mounting frame and then install the plaster ceiling.

STEP 2:

Attach the Quick-Mount Brackets to mounting frame with supplied hardware.

STEP 3:

Thread rigid conduit, bar stock, wire or C-channel (supplied by others) through quick-mount brackets at the sides of the luminaire.

See Figure 1.

STEP 4:

Attach mounting means to structure or other adequate support.

STEP 5:

Adjust mounting height by loosening adjustment nut, then position bracket so that the bottom of the plaster ring is flush with the bottom of the opening of the finished ceiling.

See Figures 1 and 2.

Tighten adjustment nut.

STEP 7:

Remove one of the junction box covers and bring in appropriate power supply to the junction box using one of the knock-outs.

STEP 8:

Wire luminaire per “Electrical Connections” section.

STEP 9:

NOTE: Luminaire is intended to be wired to a specific voltage. Make sure that supply voltage matches voltage on electrical label next to the junction box. Connecting luminaire to voltage other than that specified on the label may result in luminaire damage and/or improper luminaire operation.

STEP 10:

Hang LED luminaire from mounting frame by the two provided cables. See Figure 3 .

STEP 11:

Install flexible conduit from luminaire to open 7/8” diameter hole on the side of the junction box and secure in place with lock nut.

STEP 12:

Connect luminaires two-position connector to the connector inside of the junction box.

STEP 13:

Replace junction box cover.

STEP 14:

Lift luminaire into place making sure that tab on each end engages hook on mounting frame.

See Figure 4.

STEP 15:

Install four screws in trim plate and tighten.

See Figure 5.

FIELD ADJUSTABLE DIMMING

NOTE: This luminaire may be provided with field adjustable dimming. Luminaires leave the factory adjusted to the maximum setting which is Position 9 as shown in

Figure 6.

STEP 1:

Locate the luminaires electrical label and verify the luminaires LED count and the maximum current available.

STEP 2:

The Dimming module is located inside the luminaire. Open the sensor door by loosening the (4) self retained screws and carefully lower the door. See Figure 5 on page 2.

STEP 3:

Establish the desired drive current on the following tables and turn the switch to the correlating position on the

Dimming Control Module.

STEP 4:

Adjust the Dimming Module to the selected position, replace the door ensuring no wires are pinched and tighten the screws that were loosened in Step 3.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS

STEP 1:

Using 90°C minimum rated wire connectors, make the following electrical connections within the Junction Box: a. Connect the black fixture lead to the voltage supply lead.

b. Connect the white fixture lead to the neutral supply lead.

c. Connect the green or green/yellow ground lead to the green lead.

d. If Dimming is an option; connect the violet dimming positive lead to the supply dimming positive lead.

e. If Dimming is an option; connect the grey or pink dimming negative lead to the supply dimming negative lead.
