Oracle E-Business Suite requests and request sets
Control-M for Oracle E-Business Suite provides the ability to extract, intercept and monitor existing concurrent requests and request sets.
This section provides information on the following Control-M for Oracle E-Business Suite abilities:
Extracting definitions of existing requests and request sets (on page 39 ): Converts automatically
existing Oracle E-Business Suite concurrent requests and request sets to the equivalent Control-M for
Oracle E-Business Suite jobs.
Intercepting Oracle E-Business Suite requests and request sets (on page 40 ): Releases Oracle
E-Business Suite concurrent requests and request sets that are in On Hold status in the Oracle
E-Business Suite system and monitors them through Control-M.
Monitoring requests and request sets running in Oracle E-Business Suite (on page 40 ): Creates a
mirror-image of the concurrent requests and request sets running in the Oracle E-Business Suite system and monitors them through Control-M.

Extracting definitions of existing requests and request sets
The Extract Definition utility enables users to automatically copy one or more existing Oracle E-Business
Suite concurrent requests and request sets from their Oracle E-Business Suite environment to their equivalent Control-M for Oracle E-Business Suite jobs.
To use the extract definition utility:
1.
Create the required extract definition rule file.
The Extract Definition utility acts in accordance to the details in the rule file. For more information,
see Extract definition rule file (on page 41 ).
2.
In the Oracle E-Business Suite system submit the requests or request sets (that are to be copied to
Control-M to a future date), to ensure that the required request or request set remain in
Pending-Scheduled status.
NOTE: The Extract Definition utility can extract any status of Oracle E-Business Suite requests, as long as the request is in Pending phase. There are several statuses within the Pending phase. If a specific status is needed for the extraction behavior, the OAP-STATUS_CODE can be used in the extract definition rule file. By default, if no OAP-STATUS_CODE is indicated in the rule file, Normal status (I) is set.
After the Extract Definition utility copies the required request/request set definition to Control-M, the original request/request set in the Oracle E-Business Suite system is canceled.
3.
Type the extract definition command:
UNIX: a.
Ensure that you are logged in as a Control-M/Agent user. b.
Run the following command:
ctmextract -CM_APPL_TYPE OEBS -OAP-INSTANCE <Account name> -RULETABLE
<path to extract rule file> [-DBGLVL 0-5]
Windows: c.
Open command prompt and navigate to: d.
< Agent home directory >\CM\OAP\EXE\
Run the following command:
ctmextract -CM_APPL_TYPE OEBS -OAP-INSTANCE <Account name>
-RULETABLE <path to extract rule file> [-DBGLVL 0-5] [-AGENT
<agent_name>]
For more information regarding ctmextract command-line parameters, see
ctmextract/agintercept command line parameters (on page 46 ).
After the extract definition is completed, the extracted jobs are created in the Control-M/Server definition folder (folder name is set in extract rule file). To use these jobs, use Control-M Workload
Automation to download the relevant folder from the Control-M/Server to Control-M/EM. After the relevant folder has been downloaded the extracted jobs can be used.
