Introduction
This document provides examples for backing up databases for IMC that runs on Linux in centralized deployment and uses a remote database server.
Example: Backing up IMC databases on a remote database server
Network requirements
IMC uses a remote Oracle database server.
Configure automatic or manual database backup in IMC to back up the IMC databases on the remote database server.
Configuring automatic database backup in IMC
1. Start the Intelligent Deployment Monitoring Agent.
2. Click the Environment tab.
The database backup and restoration functional panel is located in the Database Backup and
Restore
area at the bottom, as shown in Figure 1 .

3. Click Configure .
The Auto Backup and Recovery Settings page appears.

Do the following, as shown in Figure 2 :

a. Select Auto Backup Mode . b. Set the time at which the automatic backup operation starts every day in the Daily Backup
Time (HH:mm) field. This example uses the default setting of 04:00 . c. Set the lifetime for the backup file in the Backup File Lifetime (days) field. Expired files are automatically removed. This example uses the default setting of 7 . d. Enter the path where the backup files are to be stored in the Backup Path field. This example uses /opt/dbmanbak . e. Select components to be automatically backed up. By default, no components are selected.
Select or clear Local Backup to configure all components.

5. Click OK .
6. On the Environment tab, click View Log to verify that automatic backup is correctly configured.
Configuring manual database backup in IMC
1. On the Environment tab, click Backup .
A confirmation dialog box appears.
2. Click OK .

A page for selecting the database backup path appears.
3. Specify a local path to save the backup files.
4. Click OK .

Check the specified database backup path for the backup files, as shown in Figure 3 .
