Keep the charger and/or UV travel case away from water.

After cleaning, make sure the charger and/or UV travel case is completely dry before you connect it to the wall socket.

This appliance can be used by children and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Children shall not play with the appliance.

Keep the UV travel case out of the reach of children at all times.

Stop using the UV travel case if the UV LED remains on when the travel case is open. UV light can be harmful to the human eye and skin.

If the appliance is damaged in any way (brush head, toothbrush handle or charger), stop using it.

The USB cord cannot be replaced. If the USB cord is damaged, discard the charger.

Always replace the charger with one of the original type in order to avoid a hazard.

This appliance contains no user-serviceable parts. If the appliance is damaged, stop using it and contact the Consumer Care Center in your country (see ’Warranty and support‘). If the cord is damaged, replace the charger and/or UV travel case with a new one.

Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.

Do not use the charger and/or UV travel case outdoors or near heated surfaces.

CAUTION

Do not clean the brush head, handle, or charger in the dishwasher.

If you have had oral or gum surgery in the previous

2 months, consult your dentist before you use this appliance.

Consult your dentist if excessive bleeding occurs after using this appliance or if bleeding continues to occur after 1 week of use. Also consult your dentist if you experience discomfort or pain when you use this appliance.

This Philips appliance complies with the safety standards for electromagnetic devices. If you have a pacemaker or other implanted device, contact your doctor or the appliance manufacturer of the implanted appliance prior to use.

If you have medical concerns, consult your doctor before you use this appliance.

This appliance has only been designed for cleaning teeth, gums and tongue. Do not use it for any other purpose. Stop using the appliance and contact your doctor if you experience any discomfort or pain.

This appliance is a personal care device and is not intended for use on multiple patients in a dental practice or institution.

Do not use other brush heads than the brand that came with your Philips Sonicare 3200 or 3900

Series.

Stop using a brush head with crushed or bent bristles. Replace the brush head every 3 months or sooner if signs of wear appear.

Only use this product for its intended purpose as shown in this user manual. Misuse can lead to hazards or serious injuries.

Only use original Philips accessories or consumables.

Charge, use and store the product at a temperature between 0 °C and 40 °C.

Keep product and batteries away from fire and do not expose them to direct sunlight or high temperatures.

If the product becomes abnormally hot or smelly, changes color or if charging takes longer than usual, stop using and charging the product and contact Philips.

Do not place products and their batteries in microwave ovens or on induction cookers.

Do not open, modify, pierce, damage or dismantle the product or battery to prevent batteries from heating up or releasing toxic or hazardous substances. Do not short-circuit, overcharge or reverse charge batteries.

If batteries are damaged or leaking, avoid contact with the skin or eyes. If this occurs, immediately rinse well with water and seek medical care.

Getting started

Attaching the brush head

1 Align the brush head so the bristles point in the same direction as the front of the handle.

2 Press the brush head down onto the metal shaft until there is a small 1-2mm gap. (Fig. 3)

Note: It is normal to see a slight gap between the brush head and the handle (Fig. 3). This allows the brush head to vibrate properly.

Charging your Philips Sonicare

-

Note: It can take up to 10 hours to fully charge the battery, but you can use the toothbrush before it is fully charged.

If you are using your Sonicare toothbrush for the first time, it is normal to feel more vibration than when using a non-electric toothbrush. It is common for first time users to apply too much pressure. Only apply gentle pressure and let the toothbrush do the brushing for you. Please follow brushing instructions below for the best experience.

Brushing instructions

1 Wet the bristles and apply a small amount of toothpaste.

2 Place the toothbrush bristles against the teeth at a slight angle (45 degrees) (Fig. 5), pressing gently to make the bristles reach the gumline or slightly beneath the gumline.

Note: Do not turn on the toothbrush until the brush head is against your teeth.

3 Press the power on/off button to turn on the

Philips Sonicare.

Note: Keep the center of the brush in contact with the teeth at all times.

4 Gently keep the bristles placed on the teeth and in the gumline. Brush your teeth with small back and forth motion so the bristles reach between the teeth. Continue this motion throughout your brushing cycle.

Note: The bristles should slightly flare. Do not scrub. It is not recommended to scrub as you would with a manual toothbrush.

5 To clean the inside surfaces of the front teeth, tilt the brush handle semi-upright and make several vertical overlapping brushing strokes on each tooth (Fig. 6).

Note: To make sure you brush evenly throughout the mouth, divide your mouth into 4 sections using the QuadPacer feature (see chapter ‘Features’).

6 Begin brushing in section 1 (outside upper teeth) and brush for 30 seconds before you move to section 2 (inside upper teeth). Continue brushing in section 3 (outside lower teeth) and brush for

30 seconds before you move to section 4 (inside lower teeth) (Fig. 7).

7 After you have completed the brushing cycle, you can spend additional time brushing the chewing surfaces of your teeth and areas where staining occurs. You can also brush your tongue, with the toothbrush turned on or off, as you prefer (Fig. 8).

Note: To switch off the power toothbrush, hold down the power button for 3 seconds or more.

Your Philips Sonicare toothbrush should be safe to use on braces (brush heads wear out sooner when used on braces) and dental restorations (fillings, crowns, veneers) if they are properly adhered and not compromised. If a problem occurs, please follow up with a dental professional.

Battery status

This Philips Sonicare toothbrush is designed to provide at least 60 brushing sessions after fully charged for

10 hours, each session lasting 2 minutes. When the battery is low, the battery indicator starts to flash.

Note: When the battery is completely empty, the toothbrush switches off. Place the handle on the charger to charge it.

Note: To keep the battery fully charged at all times, you may keep your Philips Sonicare toothbrush on the charger when not in use.

Note: Battery usage time is expected to reduce over product life time.

Gentle cleaning for sensitive gums and teeth (2 minutes)

Note: When you use the toothbrush for the first time, the default mode is ’Clean‘.

To toggle between the brushing modes:

Press the power button once to turn on the toothbrush.

Press a second time within 3 seconds to change the brushing mode.

After the toothbrush has been on five seconds, if you want to change modes, you‘ll need to turn the toothbrush off, then on and press the power button within 3 seconds.

Smartimer

The Smartimer indicates that your brushing cycle is complete by automatically turning off the toothbrush at the end of the brushing cycle.

Dental professionals recommend brushing no less than 2 minutes twice a day.

Note: The timer for Refresh mode is 1 minute.

Quadpacer

The Quadpacer is an interval timer that has a short pause every 30 seconds (15 seconds in the Refresh mode) to remind you to brush the 4 sections of your mouth evenly and thoroughly (Fig. 7).

Cleaning

You should clean your Philips Sonicare toothbrush regularly to remove toothpaste and other residue.

Failure to clean your Philips Sonicare toothbrush may result in an unhygienic product and damage to it may occur.

Warning: Do not clean brush heads, the handle or the charger in the dishwasher.

Warning: Do not clean with boiling hot water.

Toothbrush handle

1 Remove the brush head and rinse the metal shaft area with warm water (Fig. 9). Make sure you remove any residual toothpaste.

Caution: Do not push on the rubber seal on the metal shaft with sharp objects, as this may cause damage.

2 Wipe the entire surface of the handle with a damp cloth.

Note: Do not tap the handle on the sink to remove excess water.

Brush head

1 Rinse the brush head and bristles after each use

(Fig. 10).

2 Remove the brush head from the handle and rinse the brush head connection with warm water at least once a week. Rinse the travel cap as often as needed.

Charger

1 Unplug the charger before you clean it.

2 Wipe the surface of the charger with a damp cloth.

Storage

If you are not going to use the product for a long time, unplug it, clean it (see chapter ’Cleaning‘) and store it in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.

Replacement

Brush head

Replace Philips Sonicare brush heads every 3 months to achieve optimal results. Use only Philips Sonicare

Gentle White or Mini Soft brush heads compatible with Philips Sonicare 3200 or 3900 Series handle.

A small gap is necessary to allow movement in order to deliver the vibrations needed to clean your teeth.

Remove the brush head from the handle and re-set it on the metal shaft leaving small gap. (1-2mm)

Place handle vertically on charger base and make sure the charger is plugged in.

Charge the toothbrush handle on the charger.

Problem

The UV travel case is not working

(HX2471/04 only).

Possible cause Solution

Ensure the cover is closed, ensure UV travel case is connected to the power adapter.

Recycling

This symbol means that electrical products and batteries shall not be disposed of with normal household waste (Fig. 11).

Follow your country’s rules for the separate collection of electrical products and batteries.

Removal of built-in rechargeable battery

The built-in rechargeable battery must only be removed by a qualified professional when the appliance is discarded. Before removing the battery, make sure that the appliance is disconnected from the wall socket and that the battery is completely empty.

Take any necessary safety precautions when you handle tools to open the appliance and when you dispose of the rechargeable battery.

When you handle batteries, make sure that your hands, the product and the batteries are dry.

To avoid accidental short-circuiting of batteries after removal, do not let battery terminals come into contact with metal objects (e.g. coins, hairpins, rings). Do not wrap batteries in aluminum foil. Tape battery terminals or put batteries in a plastic bag before you discard them.

Only remove the rechargeable battery when you discard the product. Before you remove the battery, make sure that the product is disconnected from the wall socket and that the battery is completely empty.

1 Remove the inner body from the handle.

2 Remove the rechargeable battery from the inner body.

开始使用

安装牙刷头

刷牙说明

1 浸湿刷毛并挤上少量牙膏。

使用入門

安裝刷頭

1 將刷頭對齊，使刷毛朝向握柄正面。

2 將刷頭下壓到金屬軸上，直到只剩 1 至 2 公釐的

間隙。 (圖 3)

注意：如果刷頭和握柄 (圖 3)之間有些微空隙，此屬正

常現象。 這樣刷頭才會震動順暢。

為 Philips Sonicare 充電

2 將充電器連接到5V的USB電源轉換器並插上牆上

3 您的牙刷會持續充電，直到電量充滿為止。

充飽電後，電池指示燈將持續亮綠燈 30

秒，然後熄滅。

注意： 牙刷充滿電需要長達 10 小時的時間，但

使用飛利浦 Sonicare 牙刷

如果您是首次使用 Sonicare 聲波震動牙刷，通常會感

覺其振動幅度比非電動牙刷更強烈。用戶首次使用時通

常會用力過度。只需要輕輕用力即可實現良好的刷牙效

果。請按照下方的刷牙說明操作以獲得最佳體驗。

刷牙方法

1 沾濕刷毛，擠上少量牙膏。

表面，稍微下壓使刷毛接觸牙齦線或牙齦線稍下

方。

注意：等刷頭接觸牙齒後，再開啟牙刷電源。

3 按下電源開關按鈕，開啟飛利浦 Sonicare 牙刷。

注意： 隨時讓牙刷中央與牙齒保持接觸。

4 輕輕讓刷毛置於牙齒表面及牙齦上。 以小幅動

作在牙齒表面來回刷動，讓刷毛能深入牙齒間細

縫。 刷牙週期當中，請全程持續此動作。

注意： 刷毛應稍微展開。 請勿過度用力。我們不

建議您以手動牙刷的方式用力刷牙。

5 如要清潔門齒內側表面，請直握牙刷握柄，使其

呈半傾斜，在每顆牙齒 (圖 6)上反覆垂直震動。

注意： 為確保牙刷能均衡地清潔牙齒，請利用

QuadPacer 四分象限計時器功能將牙齒劃分為 4

個區域 (請參閱「功能」單元)。

6 從第 1 區 (上方外側牙齒) 開始刷牙，刷 30 秒，

再移到第 2 區 (上方內側牙齒)。 繼續在第 3 區 (

下方外側牙齒) 刷牙，並刷 30 秒，再移到第 4 區

(下方內側牙齒) (圖 7)。

7 完成刷牙週期後，可多花些時間刷洗牙齒咬合面

及齒垢堆積處。 也可隨個人喜好 (圖 8)，在牙刷

電源啟動或關閉之下刷洗舌頭。

注意： 若要關閉電動牙刷電源，請按住電源按鈕

3 秒以上。

若您的口中有牙齒矯正器 (如果裝有矯正器，牙刷刷毛

會較快磨損) 或牙齒補綴物 (填補、牙套、牙面鑲嵌)，

只要這些裝置牢固附著且未鬆脫，您就可以安全地使

電池狀態

本飛利浦 Sonicare 牙刷完全充滿電後，可供應至少 60

次刷牙時段的電力，每階段持續 2 分鐘。 電池電力不

足時，電池指示燈會開始閃爍。

注意： 電池電力完全耗盡時，牙刷會關閉電源， 這時
