· To reduce the risk of death, personal injury or property damage from fi re, electric shock, falling parts, cuts/ abrasions, and other hazards please read all warnings and instructions included with and on the fi xture box and all fi xture labels.
· Before installing, servicing, or performing routine maintenance upon this equipment, follow these general precautions.
· Installation and service of luminaires should be performed by a qualifi ed licensed electrician.
· Maintenance of the luminaires should be performed by person(s) familiar with the luminaires’ construction and operation and any hazards involved. Regular fi xture maintenance programs are recommended.
· It will occasionally be necessary to clean the outside of the refractor/lens. Frequency of cleaning will depend on ambient dirt level and minimum light output which is acceptable to user. Refractor/lens should be washed in a solution of warm water and any mild, non-abrasive household detergent, rinsed with clean water and wiped dry.
Should optical assembly become dirty on the inside, wipe refractor/lens and clean in above manner, replacing damaged gaskets as necessary.
· DO NOT INSTALL DAMAGED PRODUCT! This luminaire has been properly packed so that no parts should have been damaged during transit. Inspect to confi rm. Any part damaged or broken during or after assembly should be replaced.

Disconnect or turn off power before installation or servicing.
Verify that supply voltage is correct by comparing it with the luminaire label information.
Make all electrical and grounded connections in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any applicable local code requirements.
All wiring connections should be capped with UL approved recognized wire connectors.

Allow lamp/fi xture to cool before handling. Do not touch enclosure or light source.
Do not exceed maximum wattage marked on luminaire label.
Follow all manufacturer’s warnings, recommendations and restrictions for: driver type, burning position, mounting locations/methods, replacement and recycling.

Wear gloves and safety glasses at all times when removing luminaire from carton, installing, servicing or performing maintenance.
Avoid direct eye exposure to the light source while it is on.

Keep combustible and other materials that can burn, away from lamp/lens.
Do not operate in close proximity to persons, combustible materials or substances affected by heat or drying.

Never connect components under load.
Do not mount or support these fi xtures in a manner that can cut the outer jacket or damage wire insula on.
Unless individual product speci fi ca ons deem otherwise: Never connect an LED product directly to a dimmer packs, occupancy sensors, ming devices, or other related control devices. LED fi xtures must be powered directly o ff a switched circuit.
Unless individual product speci fi ca ons deem otherwise: Do not restrict fi xture ven la on. Allow for some volume of airspace around fi xture. Avoid covering LED fi xtures with insula on, foam, or other material that will prevent convec on or conduc on cooling.
Unless individual product speci fi ca ons deem otherwise: Do not exceed fi xtures maximum ambient temperature.
Only use fi xture in its intended loca on.
LED products are Polarity Sensi ve. Ensure proper Polarity before installa on.
Electrosta c Discharge (ESD): ESD can damage LED fi xtures. Personal grounding equipment must be worn during all installa on or servicing of the unit.
Do not touch individual electrical components as this can cause ESD, shorten lamp life, or alter performance.
Some components inside the fi xture may not be serviceable. In the unlikely event your unit may require service, stop using the unit immediately and contact an ABL representa ve for assistance.
Always read the fi xtures complete installa on instruc ons prior to installa on for any addi onal fi xture speci fi c warnings.

Installation Instructions
D-Series LED Surface Canopy
DELIVERY: Upon receipt of fi xture and accessories (packed separately), thoroughly inspect for any freight damage. All damage should be reported to the delivery carrier. Compare the catalog description listed on the packing slip with the fi xture label on the inside of the housing to be sure you have received the correct merchandise.
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
Tools Required: 5/16" nut driver or socket, 7/16" socket, electrical wiring tools
Over tightening will cause stripping and void all warranties.

SURFACE MOUNTING INSTALLATION:
Note: do not set fi xture down on lens on unprotected surface.

2. Back out captive screws on the top of the fi xture. Remove the j-box mounting plate (fi g b).

3. Orient the j-box plate according to the label (fi g a).

4. Use 25 in. Lb. Torque to properly secure the junction box plate to the j-box (fi g c) with (2) two 10-
24 screws (by others).
5. Align the tabs from the junction box plate with the slots in the mounting plate on the housing.
6. Hang the DSXSC fi xture on the junction box mounting plate (fi g d).
7. Connect fi xture wires to appropriate voltage supply wires using proper sized connectors. (Supply side ground wire to green fi xture lead--supply side neutral wire to white fi xture lead--supply side line voltage to black fi xture lead.)
8. Ensure that wires are not being pinched and tuck into junction box.
9. Lift the fi xture upwards mating the 2 plates and retighten the captive screws from step 2.

For use with surface mounted j-box.
Not for use with recessed j-box.
1. Install fi xture per supplied instructions.
2. Take BDS and wrap it around fi xture, use caution not to over-bend BDS wrap. Make sure to align the slots on the wrap with the hinges on the DSXSC housing.
3. Install the 10-24 screws provided.
Troubleshooting: If this fi xture fails to operate properly, check to make sure: • The fi xture is wired correctly. • The fi xture is grounded correctly. • The line voltage at the fi xture is correct. If all these variables have been checked and the fi xture still does not operate as specifi ed, contact your local Lithonia Lighting distributor.
