Frequently asked questions

The Wireless Temperature Station 6382 is compatible only with Vantage Pro2™ weather stations. It is not compatible with the original Vantage Pro wireless weather stations.

You can set the transmitter ID using DIP switches located on the Sensor Interface Module (SIM) inside the shelter. Refer to the table on page 3 of the manual.

The range of wireless transmission depends on many factors. For the best reception, position the transmitter shelter and your console/receiver as close together as possible. Under optimal conditions, the range can be up to 1000 feet (300 m). Typical range is 200 to 400 feet, but this may be reduced by walls, ceilings, trees, or foliage.

The temperature probe should be located where it will not be exposed to sources of heat or cold that could distort temperature measurements. It should be placed in a location that is not in direct sunlight and has limited exposure to reflected sunlight. Avoid placing the probe near lights, lamps, chimneys, or exhaust vents.
