• Avoid contact with steam from the spout when water is boiling, or just after the kettle has switched off. Take care when opening the lid for re-filling when the kettle has recently boiled, as steam can burn.

• Extreme caution is necessary when moving any appliance containing hot water.

Wait until the appliance has switched off automatically, or switch it off manually before moving it.

• Do not lift the lid while boiling water in the kettle.

• Do not fill the kettle when the appliance is on the power base.

• The kettle must only be used with the power base provided.

• Do not place the power base onto a metal tray or metal surface while in use.

• Do not operate the kettle on an inclined surface.

• Do not operate the kettle unless the element is fully immersed.

• Do not move the kettle while it is switched on.

• To prevent damage to the appliance do not use alkaline cleaning agents when cleaning, use a soft cloth and mild detergent.

Congratulations on the purchase of your new In

My Kitchen 1.7 Litre Stainless Steel Kettle.

Before using your new kettle for the first time, it is extremely important that you read and follow the instructions in this use and care booklet, even if you feel that you are familiar with this type of appliance.

Your attention is drawn particularly to the section dealing with IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS. Find a safe and convenient place to keep this booklet handy for future reference.

This appliance has been designed to operate from a standard domestic power outlet. It is not intended for industrial or commercial use.

This product has been designed to heat water only. Do not use this kettle to boil tea, milk, soup, etc.

Before First Use

Carefully unpack the kettle and power base and remove all packaging material. Wipe the body of the kettle with a soft, dry or damp, sponge or cloth.

How to Use Your 1.7 Litre

Stainless Steel Kettle

Push the lid release button on handle to open the hinged lid of the kettle and fill with water to the desired level.

Take care not to fill above the “MAX” water level mark on the water window as water may eject from the kettle during boiling. Always fill using fresh water and discard any excess boiled water after use.

Push hinged lid of the kettle down to close.

Place the power base on a dry and level surface.

Place the kettle onto the power base.

Insert the power cord into a standard domestic power outlet and switch the power outlet on.

Switch the kettle on by pressing the “On/Off” switch to the “1” position. The power indicator light illuminates to indicate that the kettle is in use.

Do not remove the kettle from the power base whilst it is switched on.

Do not UNDER-FILL. Ensure there is enough water to reach the “MIN” mark on the water window.

When the water has boiled, the kettle and the power indicator light will switch off automatically.

Water can be brought back to the boil by pressing the “On/Off” switch to the “1” position again.

PLEASE NOTE: If the kettle has recently boiled and switched off automatically, it may be necessary to wait for approx. 15 seconds before the switch can be reset.

Do not force the “On/Off“ switch to the “1” position.

You can stop the boiling process at any time by moving the “ On/Off” switch to the “0” position.

Care and Cleaning

Before cleaning, turn off the power outlet and unplug the power cord.

Wait for the kettle to cool before cleaning it, if it is hot.

Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth or sponge.

Remove stubborn spots using a cloth moistened with mild detergent. Do not use steel wool or abrasive cleaners. Do not put detergents or cleaning agents in the kettle.

Buff the body with a soft, dry cloth.

Do not leave the kettle in direct sunlight as doing so may affect the quality of the finish.

Removing Calcium Deposits

In order to maintain the performance of your kettle, it is important to remove built-up deposits inside the kettle. To descale your kettle you can use a descalent available from most leading retail outlets, or use the following process:

1. Half fill the kettle with ordinary tap water.

2. Add 30ml (1oz) of white vinegar to the kettle.

3. Boil the mixture and leave to stand for 30 seconds before emptying the kettle.

Repeat steps 1 to 3 twice.

4. Empty the mixture and rinse the kettle well.

Note: For extreme build-up, this procedure may need to be repeated.

Alternatively, leave the mixture in the kettle over night.

Cleaning the Filter

Open the lid of the kettle.

Hold the filter, push it towards inside,and lift the filter to upwards and out of the holder.

The filter can then be rinsed under the tap or gently washed with a cloth.

To re-insert the filter,align the filter to the spout, push it towards outside,the filter locker lock into the spout holder.

• Store the unit indoors in a dry location.

• Do not attempt to repair, disassemble or modify the appliance. There are no user serviceable parts.

• Bread may burn, therefore this toaster must not be used near or below curtains or other combustible material and it must be supervised at all times when in use.

• Do not cover bread slots while the Toaster is in use.

• Do not operate the Toaster without bread.

• Do not operate under or near flammable materials,Such as curtains,Drapes and any other combustible materials.

• Do not attempt to heat metal or foil packages in the Toaster.

Before using your new 2 Slice Stainless Steel

Toaster for the first time, it is extremely important that you read and follow the instructions in this

Use and Care booklet, even if you feel that you are familiar with this type of appliance.

In particular, please pay close attention to the section entitled IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS.

Find a safe and convenient place to keep this booklet for future reference.

This appliance has been designed to operate from a standard domestic power outlet. It is not intended for industrial or commercial use.

The appliance has build in High lift function, you can uplift the carriage lever a little to remove the bread conveniently.

How to Use Your 2 Slice

Stainless Steel Toaster

Before using the appliance for the first time, carefully unpack and remove all packaging material.

Plug the Toaster into a standard domestic power outlet and switch the power outlet on.

Place bread into the bread slots and press the lever down until it locks into position.

When your Toaster is heated for the first time, it may emit slight smoke or odour.

This is normal and should disappear after

1 or 2 uses.

Note: The lever will not lock into position if the Toaster is not plugged into a power outlet or if the power outlet is not switched on.

Adjust the variable browning control to the desired toast colour setting. Choose a setting based on the type of bread you are toasting and your personal preference. Start on a medium setting (3-4) and adjust the variable browning control to a lighter setting (1-2) or darker setting

(5-7).

Note: The condition of the bread will determine how quickly it toasts. Dry or stale bread toasts faster than fresh bread.

When toasting is completed, the toast will pop up and the Toaster will switch off automatically.

Toasting may be interrupted during the cycle by pushing the Cancel button. Toasting will stop and the toast will pop-up.

The appliance has build in high lift function, you can uplift the carriage lever a little to remove the bread conveniently.

Allow the Toaster 15 to 20 seconds to cool before beginning the next toasting cycle. This permits the electronically controlled thermostat to reset for the next toasting cycle.

Note: Do not touch the Toaster walls when the Toaster is in use.

WARNING: Do not leave toaster unattended when it is in use as toast may jam or wedge in the bread carriage.

Note: Do not use a knife or another sharp metal tool to remove bread from the toaster and do not touch the metal internal parts of the toaster.

Reheat Button

Toast can be reheated by placing cold toast in the bread slots, lowering the lever and pressing the reheat button. The reheat light will come on and the toast will be reheated over a short, fixed period of time.

Note: When using the reheat function, keep a close eye on the bread to ensure it doesn’t burn.

Cancel Function

The toasting cycle can be stopped at any stage by pressing the Cancel button. The toast will pop up and the Toaster will switch off automatically.

Defrost Function

The defrost function is useful for thawing and toasting frozen bread all in one operation.

Adjust the variable browning control to the desired toast colour setting. Start on a medium setting (3) and adjust the variable browning control to a lighter setting (1-2) or darker setting

(4-5) depending on your personal preference.

Place bread or crumpets into the bread slots.

Press the lever down to the locked position and press the defrost button. The defrost light will illuminate.

When thawing and toasting is complete, the toast will automatically pop-up and the Toaster will switch off automatically.

The appliance has builded in High lift function, you can uplift the carriage lever a little to remove the bread.

Care and Cleaning

Switch off the power outlet and unplug the

Toaster; ensuring you let the Toaster cool before cleaning.

Wipe over the exterior of the Toaster and power cord with a soft damp sponge or cloth.

Do not use abrasives or strong household cleaners, as they will damage the brushed chrome finish.

The crumb trays will need to be cleaned occasionally. Slide out the crumb tray from the toaster, empty and place it back in the toaster before using it again.

Note: Do not try to clean the inside of the

Toaster, as this may damage the heating elements. Water and liquids must never enter the Toaster.
