1. Vorbemerkung

Lieber Benutzer,

Sie haben sich für einen hochwertigen Rollstuhl von Bischoff & Bischoff entschieden. Wir bedanken uns für Ihr Vertrauen.

Diese Bedienungsanleitung enthält alle nötigen Informationen zur Bedienung des Rollstuhls BX 11 in der Ausführung mit durchgehender abklabbare Fußplatte und des Rollstuhl BX 11 S mit abschwenkbaren

Beinstützen.

Der Rollstuhl wurde so ausgelegt, dass er Ihnen viele Vorteile bietet und Ihren Bedürfnissen gerecht wird. Durch die vielfältigen Einstellungsmöglichkeiten und die optimale Anpassbarkeit hinsichtlich Sitzbreite, Sitzhöhe, Sitztiefe, Rückenhöhe usw. lässt sich der BX 11 / BX

11 S hervorragend an Ihre individuellen Körpermaße anpassen.

Der Rollstuhl ist sowohl für den Gebrauch im Haus als auch im Freien für aktive Benutzer ausgelegt, die auf einen Rollstuhl angewiesen sind.

Bitte lesen und beachten Sie vor der ersten Inbetriebnahme Ihres neuen Rollstuhls aufmerksam die Bedienungsanleitung. Diese ist ein fester und notwendiger Bestandteil des Rollstuhls. Bewahren Sie die Bedienungsanleitung griffbereit auf und geben Sie diese bei Weitergabe des

Rollstuhls mit.

2. Wichtige Sicherheitshinweise

2.1. Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise

• Um Stürze und gefährliche Situationen zu vermeiden, den Umgang mit Ihrem neuen Rollstuhl erst auf ebenem, überschaubarem Gelände üben. Eine Begleitperson wird empfohlen.

• Vor Anwendung des Rollstuhls kontrollieren, ob alle angebauten

Teile ordentlich befestigt sind.

•

Den Rollstuhl nur an fest montierten Teilen anheben (s. Kap. 5.3).

• Sicherstellen, dass die Steckachsen richtig in den Achsaufnahmen sitzen, sonst besteht Verletzungsgefahr.

• Bei der Gleichgewichtverlagerung durch Körperbewegungen oder

Beladung des Rollstuhls vergrößert sich das Kipprisiko zu allen

Seiten.

• Den Rollstuhl nicht zum Transport mehrerer Personen oder von Las-

ten missbrauchen. Die Zweckbestimmung (s. Kap. 2.6) beachten!

• Bei Einstellungen und Verstellungen am Rollstuhl besteht Klemmgefahr für Körperteile!

• Kleidungsstücke und Körperteile von Spalten zwischen beweglichen

Teilen fernhalten!

• Beim Überwinden von Hindernissen (Stufen etc.) eine Begleitperson

hinzuziehen. Die Ankipphilfe (s. Kap. 4.9.1) verwenden.

• Treppen und größere Hindernisse nur mit Hilfe von mindestens

zwei Begleitpersonen überwinden (s. Kap. 5.3). Einrichtungen wie

Auffahrrampen, Aufzüge oder Treppensteighilfen - sofern vorhanden - benutzen (Abb. A).

• Fahren Sie keine Bordsteinkante oder sonstige Absätze hinunter

(Abb. B).

• Bei Fahrten auf einem/einer Gefälle/Steigung beachten, dass schon ab wenigen Grad Kippgefahr besteht. Die Verwendung von

Antikipprollen (s. Kap. 4.9.2) wird empfohlen (Abb. C).

• Kollisionen jeglicher Art vermeiden!.

• Nur auf ebenem, festem Untergrund fahren.

• Beim Ein- oder Aussteigen in bzw. aus dem Rollstuhl beide Feststell-

bremsen (s. Kap. 4.7) anziehen.

• Im Straßenverkehr die Straßenverkehrsordnung (StVZO) beachten.


• Die passive Beleuchtung (Reflektoren) Ihres Rollstuhls vor jedem

Fahrtantritt auf Unversehrtheit und Sichtbarkeit für andere Verkehrsteilnehmer überprüfen.

• Die Feststellbremse nur zum Parken benutzen.

• Die Sitzmaterialien sind beständig gegen Entflammbarkeit gemäß

EN 1021-2. Dennoch Zigaretten und andere mögliche Brandquellen von Ihrem Produkt fernhalten.

• Den Rollstuhl vor Sonneneinstrahlung schützen, um Verbrennungen durch aufgeheizte Komponenten zu vermeiden.

• Den Rollstuhl vor Kälte schützen.

•

Beim Transfer zwischen Rollstuhl und Bett (s. Kap. 5.1, 5.2) stets

• beide Feststellbremsen anziehen.

• Seitenteil der Ein-/ Ausstiegsseite nach hinten abschwenken sofern möglich.

• die Fußplatten hoch- oder wegschwenken.

• Meldung von Vorkommnissen.

Wenn Sie als Betreiber, Nutzer oder deren Angehörige mögliche

Defekte oder Funktionseinschränkungen feststellen, wenden Sie sich bitte umgehend an einen autorisierten Fachhändler. Betreiber,

Nutzer oder deren Angehörige sollten Ihren Fachhändler, der Ihnen das Produkt bereitgestellt hat, über mutmaßliche schwerwiegende

Vorkommnisse, die direkt oder indirekt eine der nachstehenden

Folgen hatten oder haben könnten und von denen sie betroffen sind, informieren. Sie können dies auch der zuständigen Bundesoberbehörde melden.

• den Tod eines Patienten, Anwenders oder einer anderen Person,

• die vorübergehende oder dauerhafte schwerwiegende Verschlechterung des Gesundheitszustands eines Patienten, Anwenders oder anderer Personen,

• eine schwerwiegende Gefahr für die öffentliche Gesundheit.

2.2. Kippgefahr

Die beidseitig angebrauchte Antikipprollen (s. Kap. 4.9.2) verhindern

weitestgehend, dass der Rollstuhl nach hinten kippt. Beachten Sie dennoch, dass das Fahren mit Antikipprollen bei stufigem Gelände, Hebe-

D bühnen und Rampen nur eingeschränkt möglich ist. Stellen Sie einen ausreichenden Abstand nach oben, unten und zu den Seiten sicher.

2.3. Sicherheit in Fahrzeugen

Der BX 11 / BX 11 S ist nicht als Fahrzeugsitz geeignet. Er darf unter keinen Umständen als solcher verwendet werden. Er erfüllt nicht die

Anforderungen nach ISO 7176-19. Ein Zuwiderhandeln kann im Falle eines Unfalls schwerste Verletzungen mit Todesfolge verursachen.

Dass Ihr Rollstuhl nicht als Sitz in Kraftfahrzeugen zur Beförderung mobilitätsbehinderter Personen (KMP) zugelassen ist, erkennen Sie anhand des Symbols (Abb. D) auf dem Typenschild, (KAP. 3.3).

2.4. Teilnahme am Straßenverkehr

Der Rollstuhl ist für den Innen- und Außenbereich konzipiert. Beachten

Sie, dass Sie am öffentlichen Straßenverkehr teilnehmen und sich an die Vorschriften der Straßenverkehrsordnung (StVZO) halten müssen.

Gefährden Sie andere Teilnehmer nicht durch rücksichtslose Fahrweise, dies gilt besonders auf Gehwegen.

2.5. Bremsen

Betriebsbremse:

Im Fahrbetrieb bremsen Sie den Rollstuhl über die Greifreifen ab.

Beachten Sie bitte, daß sich die Hände hierbei erhitzen können.

Feststellbremse/Parken:

Sobald der Rollstuhl steht, beide Bremshebel nach vorn drücken. Der

Rollstuhl steht sicher gebremst, wenn er sich nicht mehr wegschieben lässt und beide Bremshebel bis zum Anschlag nach vorne gedrückt sind. Den Hebel wieder zu Ihnen zurückziehen, um die

Bremse zu lösen (siehe Kap. 4.7.1).


Trommelbremse:

Der Rollstuhl kann optional mit einer Trommelbremse, die nur von einer Begleitperson über die Bremshebel an den Schiebegriffen aus zu bedienen ist, ausgerüstet werden.

2.6. Zweckbestimmung

Der Rollstuhl ist ausschließlich zur Mobilitätssteigerung und zum Transport von gehbehinderten, erwachsenen Menschen mit den angegebe-

nen Indikationen (s. Kap. 2.6) konzipiert. Das maximale Nutzergewicht

beträgt 135 kg.

Zu beachten:

Eine Gewährleistung kann von uns nur übernommen werden, wenn das

Produkt unter den vorgegebenen Bedingungen und zu den vorgesehenen Zwecken eingesetzt wird.

2.7. Indikationen

Die Versorgung mit einem Rollstuhl ist geeignet für erwachsende Personen mit Gehunfähigkeit bzw. stark ausgeprägter Gehbehinderung, z.B. durch:

• Lähmungen

• Gliedmaßenverlust

• Gliedmaßendefekt/-deformität

• Gelenkkontrakturen (nicht an beiden Armen)

• Gelenkschäden (nicht an beiden Armen)

• sonstige Erkrankungen

2.8. Kontraindikationen

Die Versorgung mit Rollstühlen ist ungeeignet für Personen mit:

• Sitzunfähigkeit

• Gelenkschäden /Gelenkkontrakturen an beiden Armen

• Wahrnehmungsstörungen

• starken Gleichgewichtsstörungen

• verminderter und nicht ausreichender Sehkraft

• starken Einschränkungen der kognitiven Fähigkeiten

2.9. Konformitätserklärung

Wir Bischoff & Bischoff GmbH erklären in alleiniger Verantwortung, dass der Rollstuhl BX 11 / BX 11 S allen Anforderungen der MDR

2017/745 entspricht, die anwendbar sind.

2.10. Verantwortlichkeit

Eine Gewährleistung wird von uns nur übernommen, wenn

• das Produkt unter den vorgegebenen Bedingungen und zu dem vorgesehenen Zweck eingesetzt wird,

• Änderungen, Erweiterungen, Reparaturen und Wartungsarbeiten nur von solchen Personen ausgeführt werden, die von uns dazu ermächtigt wurden, und die Änderungen oder Erweiterungen von

Bischoff & Bischoff freigegeben wurden und

• der Rollstuhl unter Beachtung aller Gebrauchshinweise benutzt wird.

2.11. Nutzungsdauer

Die zu erwartende Produktlebensdauer beträgt bis zu 5 Jahre. Voraussetzung dafür sind der bestimmungsgemäße Gebrauch sowie die Einhaltung der Sicherheits-, Pflege- und Wartungshinweise gemäß dieser

Bedienungsanleitung.


3. Produkt- und Lieferübersicht

3.1. Prüfung der Lieferung

Alle Produkte der Bischoff und Bischoff GmbH werden einer ordnungsgemäßen Endkontrolle in unserem Hause unterzogen und mit dem CE-

Kennzeichen versehen (s. Kap. 3.3).

Der Rollstuhl wird in einem speziellen Karton in Werkseinstellung geliefert. Nach dem Entpacken bewahren Sie den Karton nach Möglichkeit auf. Er dient zur eventuellen späteren Einlagerung oder Rücksendung des Produktes.

Die Anlieferung und Einweisung erfolgt in der Regel über den qualifizierten Sanitätsfachhandel.

Bei Versand per Bahn oder Spedition ist die Ware im Beisein des Überbringers sofort auf Transportschäden zu kontrollieren.

Prüfen Sie den Inhalt auf Vollständigkeit (s. Kap. 3.2) und Unversehrt-

heit. Im Falle von Unregelmäßigkeiten oder Beschädigungen setzen Sie sich mit unserem Kundenservice in Verbindung.

3.2. Lieferumfang

Um Transportschäden zu vermeiden, werden steckbare Anbauteile separat mitgeliefert.

Nach Erhalt der Ware prüfen Sie bitte umgehend den Inhalt auf Vollständigkeit. Der Inhalt besteht aus:

• Umverpackung,

• Rollstuhl (vormontiert),

• Rückenpolster

• 2 Beinstützen (beim BX 11 S)

• dieser Bedienungsanleitung

• ggf. Zubehör

4. Zusammenbau/Anpassungen

4.1. Falten und Entfalten

Ihr neuer Bischoff & Bischoff Rollstuhl wird montiert und gefaltet in einem Bischoff & Bischoff Originalkarton angeliefert.

Um Transportschäden zu vermeiden, werden steckbare Anbauteile separat mitgeliefert.

Entfalten

• Den Faltrollstuhl neben Ihnen positionieren. (Abb. 04)

• Den Faltrollstuhl soweit zu Ihnen kippen, dass ein Antriebsrad entlastet ist.

• Die Sitzrohre auseinanderschieben und diese mit der flachen Hand nach unten drücken, bis sie in der Halterung am Rahmen arretiert sind (Abb. 05).

• Die Fußplatte/n nach unten klappen (Abb. 05)

Falten

• Den Faltrollstuhl neben sich positionieren.

• Die Fußplatte/n nach oben klappen (Abb. 06, Abb. 12)

• Den Klettverschluss der Rückenbespannung (unter dem Sitz) lösen.

• Sofern vorhanden das Sitzkissen entfernen, anschließend die Sitzbespannung mittig nach oben ziehen. Danach die Rohre der Sitzfläche mit der flachen Hand zusammen klappen und dabei darauf achten das diese nur an der Unterseite gedrückt werden um die Finger nicht in der Sitzfläche einzuklemmen.

• Um sicher zustellen das der Rollstuhl vollständig gefaltet ist, können Sie zusätzlich durch die Armlehnen oder die Räder den

Rollstuhl soweit wie möglich zusammenschieben. (Abb. 07).

Achten Sie beim Falten und Entfalten, vor allem im Faltbereich, auf Ihre Finger, es besteht Klemmgefahr.

Der BX 11 ist mit einer durchgehend, abklappbarer Fußplatte ausgestattet (Abb. 08).

Die Fußplatte können Sie zur Seite hochklappen, im Winkel verstellen und auf die Unterschenkellänge des Nutzers einstellen.

Fußplatte hoch- und herunterklappen

• Unter die Fußplatte fassen und sie seitlich hochklappen (Abb. 09).

• Sobald Sie im Rollstuhl sitzen, die Fußplatte wieder herunterklappen. Danach die Fußplatte nach untern drücken bis sie hörbar einrastet.

Einstellen der Beinstützenlänge

Die Fußplatte ist 8-fach in 15 mm Schritten auf die Unterschenkellänge einstellbar.

• Hierzu beide Innensechskantschrauben am Beinstützenrohr (innen und außen) entfernen und die gewünschte Länge einstellen (Abb.

10).

• Die Schrauben wieder fest anziehen.

Winkel der Fußplatte einstellen

Die Fußplatte kann im Winkel verstellt werden (Abb. 11):

• Die Innensechskantschraube herausdrehen.

• Den Zahnkranz verdrehen, um den Winkel der Fußplatte in die gewünschte Position zu stellen

• Die Schraube wieder fest anziehen.

Stellen Sie vor Fahrtantritt sicher, dass die Beinstützen fest sitzen!

Nehmen Sie alle Einstellungen auf beiden Seiten gleich vor.


4.2.2. Beinstützen abschwenkbar

Der BX 11 S ist mit abnehmbaren Beinstützen ausgestattet (Abb. 12).

Die Fußplatten können Sie individuell zur Seite hochklappen, im Winkel verstellen und auf die Unterschenkellänge des Nutzers einstellen. Die

Beinstützen können Sie werkzeuglos abnehmen, wegschwenken und anschließend wieder montieren.

Beinstützen anbauen

• Die Beinstütze am Oberteil festhalten, sodass diese nach außen zeigt.

• Die Beinstütze mit dem Führungsprofil in die Rahmenbohrung einführen (Abb. 13).

• Die Beinstütze nach vorn schwenken, bis sie deutlich hörbar einrastet (Abb. 13)

• Die Fußplatte ggf. herunterklappen.

Beinstützen wegschwenken und abnehmen

Um Ihnen das Ein-/Aussteigen bei Ihrem Faltrollstuhl zu vereinfachen, können Sie die Beinstützen dazu nach außen oder innen wegschwenken, ohne sie dabei abbauen zu müssen.

• Die Fußplatten ggf. hochklappen.

• Den Griff nach oben ziehen (Abb. 14) und die Beinstütze nach außen schwenken (Abb. 15).

• In der Außenposition kann die Beinstütze nach oben herausgezogen werden (Abb. 15).

Bevor Sie losfahren, montieren Sie die Beinstützen wieder wie oben beschrieben.

Einstellen der Beinstützenlänge

Die Fußplatten sind 5-fach in 20 mm-Schritten auf die Unterschenkellänge einstellbar.

• Hierzu beide Innensechskantschrauben am Beinstützenrohr (innen und außen) entfernen und die gewünschte Länge einstellen (Abb.

16).

• Die Schrauben wieder fest anziehen.

Winkelverstellbare Fußplatten

Die Fußplatten können im Winkel verstellt werden (Abb. 17).

• Die Innensechskantschraube herausdrehen.

• Den Zahnkranz verdrehen, um die Fußplatte in die gewünschte

Position zu stellen.

• Die Schraube wieder fest anziehen.

Montage, Demontage und Abschwenken erfolgen wie bei den Standardbeinstützen.

Zum Einstellen den Klemmhebel lockern, dann die Beinstütze auf die gewünschte Länge einstellen und den Klemmhebel festziehen

Die waagerechte Verstellung funktioniert wie folgt:

• Rasthebel nach vorne drücken.

• durch Heben oder Senken des Fußplattenträgerrohres die Beinstütze in die gewünschte Position bringen.

• Rasthebel loslassen; Beinstütze arretiert selbsttätig.

Steigen Sie niemals auf die Fußplatte und achten

Sie beim schwenken auf Ihre Finger, es besteht

Klemmgefahr


Stellen Sie vor Fahrtantritt sicher, dass die Beinstützen fest sitzen!

Nehmen Sie alle Einstellungen auf beiden Seiten gleich vor.

Zum Umsitzen muss die Beinstütze weggeschwenkt oder entfernt werden. Sitzen Sie niemals auf die

Beinstütze. Kippgefahr!

4.2.4. Amputationsbeinstütze (optional)

Montage, Demontage und Abschwenken erfolgen wie bei den Standardbeinstützen, das Einstellen wie bei der das Einstellen und die waagerechte Verstellung funktioniert wie bei der waagrechtverstellbaren

Beinstütze.

4.3. Seitenteile

4.3.1. Aktiv Seitenteile

Der Rollstuhl ist serienmäßig mit einem Kleiderschutz aus Aluminium ausgestattet (Abb. 18). Dieser ist vorne und hinten am Rahmen befestigt. Die Höhe des Kleiderschutzes muss, bei Veränderung der Sitzposition oder der Reifengröße, nachgestellt werden.

4.3.2. Steckbare Seitenteile mit Höhenverstellung (optional)

Die steckbaren Seitenteile sind mit höhenverstellbaren Armlehnen ausgestattet. Das Seitenteil können Sie komplett abnehmen.

Höhe der Armlehnen

• Den Druckknopf am unteren Ende des Rohrs drücken und die Armlehne auf die gewünschte Höhe einstellen (Abb. 19)

• Den Druckknopf loslassen, damit die Armlehne in der nächst- möglichen Position einrastet.

Abnehmen der Seitenteile

• Den Druckknopf am unteren Ende des Rohrs drücken und das

Seitenteil komplett aus der Arretierung herausziehen

Zur Montage schieben Sie das Seitenteil in die Arretierung und stellen die Armlehne auf die gewünschte Höhe ein. Das Seitenteil muss hörbar einrasten.

4.4. Rückenlehnenwinkel

4.4.1. Rückenlehne (Standard)

Die Rückenlehne Ihres Rollstuhls ist nicht verstellbar. Der Rückenlehnenwinkel beträgt 90° zur Sitzfläche.

4.4.2. Winkeleinstellbare Rückenlehne (optional)

Die optionale Rückenlehne des Rollstuhls kann im Winkel verstellt werden (Abb. 20).

4.5. Schiebegriffhöhe

4.5.1. Schiebegriffe (Standard)

Die Schiebegriffe können für die Begleitperson in eine angenehme Position gebracht werden. Anschließend sind die Rückenlehnenhöhe und der Rückendurchhang anzupassen.

4.5.2. Schiebegriffe (optional)

Die optionalen Schiebegriffe können, unabhängig von anderen Verstellungen, an die individuelle Körpergröße der Begleitperson angepasst werden.

• Die Arretierung lösen (Abb. 21).

• Eine für die Begleitperson angenehme Höhe einstellen.

• Die Arretierung wieder fest anziehen.

4.6. Anpasssitz und -rücken

4.6.1. Sitzdurchhang

Die Sitzfläche Ihres Rollstuhls ist nachspannbar. Spannen Sie sie immer ausreichend straff. Achten Sie dennoch auf genügend Durchhang im

Beckenbereich.

• Sofern vorhanden zuerst Ihr Sitzkissen entfernen.

• Den Klettverschluss unter der Sitzfläche lösen

• Die Sitzbespannung so straff ziehen wie gewünscht und mittels

Klettverschluss befestigen (Abb. 22).

• Ihr Sitzkissen wieder auf die Sitzfläche legen.

4.6.2. Rückendurchhang

Ein gut angepasster Rücken lässt Sie dauerhaft entspannter sitzen und reduziert die Gefahr von Druckstellen. Achten Sie hierbei auf genügend

Durchhang im Beckenbereich!

• Zunächst die Polsterauflage der Rückenbespannung vollständig entfernen (Abb. 23).

• Die Klettverbindungen der Spannbänder lösen (Abb 24).

• Die Bänder der Reihe nach, von unten beginnend, anpassen

• Die Polsterauflage wieder über die Spannbänder legen.

4.7. Bremsen

Der Rollstuhl ist serienmäßig mit Feststellbremsen zur Bedienung durch den Rollstuhlnutzer ausgestattet. Optional können Sie die Ausstattung durch eine Trommelbremse erweitern, die von einer Begleitperson bedient wird.


Das Einstellen der Trommelbremse entnimmt Ihr

Fachhändler der Montageanleitung.

Zur Einstellung der Bremse kontaktieren Sie Ihren

Fachhändler. Bedenken Sie , dass falsch eingestellte

Bremsen lebensbedrohliche Folgen haben können.

Die Feststellbremse darf nicht als Betriebsbremse verwendet werden, da aufgrund des Sturzrisikos

Lebensgefahr besteht!

Beachten Sie die Verbrennungsgefahr, die besteht, wenn sich Ihre Hände beim Abbremsen über die

Greifreifen erhitzen!

4.7.1. Betätigung der Feststellbremse

Die Feststellbremse darf nur zum Parken verwendet werden. Zum Abbremsen der Fahrt dienen lediglich die Greifreifen an den Antriebsrädern (Abb. 25) bzw. die optionalen Trommelbremsen für Begleitpersonen.

• Beim Abbremsen über die Greifreifen deren höchsten Punkt umfassen. Die Greifreifen zunächst zwischen Ihren Händen gleiten lassen.

• Die Bremskraft langsam über die Haltekraft, die Sie auf die Greifreifen ausüben, bis zum Stillstand erhöhen.

• Sobald der Rollstuhl steht, beide Bremshebel nach vorn drücken

(Abb. 26). Der Rollstuhl steht sicher gebremst, wenn er sich nicht mehr wegschieben lässt und beide Bremshebel bis zum Anschlag nach vorne gedrückt sind.

• Den Hebel wieder zu Ihnen zurückziehen, um die Bremse zu lösen.

4.7.2. Betätigung mit Bremshebelverlängerung (optional)

Optional können Sie Ihren Rollstuhl mit einer Bremshebelverlängerung ausstatten. Der verlängerte Hebel reduziert den notwendigen Kraftaufwand und empfiehlt sich daher besonders für Personen mit verminderter Arm- und Handkraft.

• Den Rollstuhl zum Stehen bringen (s. Kap. 4.7),

• Beide Bremshebel nach vorn drücken. Der Rollstuhl steht sicher gebremst, wenn er sich nicht mehr wegschieben lässt und beide

Bremshebel bis zum Anschlag nach vorne gedrückt sind (Abb.

26/27).

• Den Hebel wieder zu Ihnen zurückziehen, um die Bremse zu lösen.

Betriebsstellung: Den Bremshebel in seine längste Position ausfahren und umklappen, ehe Sie losfahren (Abb. 28, Abb. 29).

Klappen Sie den Bremshebel beim Seitentransfer nach hinten um (Abb. 29).

Die Feststellbremse - mit und ohne

Bremshebelverlängerung - wirkt nur auf ein

Antriebsrad und muss daher immer beidseitig verwendet werden!

Verwenden Sie den Bremshebel niemals als Stütze

- z.B. beim Übersetzen oder Aufstehen -, es besteht sonst Kipp- und Sturzgefahr! Der Hebel könnte abbrechen!


4.7.3. Trommelbremse (optional)

Der Rollstuhl kann optional mit einer Trommelbremse, die nur von einer Begleitperson über die Bremshebel an den Schiebegriffen aus zu bedienen ist, ausgerüstet werden (Abb, 30).

4.8. Räder und Bereifung

4.8.1. Steckachse

Der Rollstuhl verfügt serienmäßig über Steckachsen. Daher können Sie die Räder leicht an- und abbauen.

• Mit dem Daumen auf den Arretierknopf der Steckachse drücken und das Rad abziehen (Abb. 31).

• Beim Wiederanbringen einfach das Rad auf die Aufnahme stecken.

Dabei den Arretierknopf hineindrücken.

Das Einrastgeräusch der Steckachse zeigt Ihnen an, dass das Rad sicher montiert ist. Stellen Sie nach jeder Montage sicher, dass die Räder fest sitzen!

4.8.2. Antriebsräder

Überprüfen Sie die Antriebsräder regelmäßig auf ausreichend Reifenluftdruck und ausreichend Reifenprofil.

Stellen Sie den am Mantel angegebenen Reifenluftdruck an.

4.8.3. Lenkräder

Bei Verschleiß oder Defekt der Antriebs- oder

Lenkräder beauftragen Sie Ihren Fachhändler mit der Instandsetzung!

4.9. Antikipprollen und Ankipphilfe

(optional)

Die Kombination aus Antikipprollen und Ankipphilfe (Abb. 32) kann für mehr Stabilität auf Steigungen verwendet werden. Außerdem hilft sie Begleitpersonen, Hindernisse, wie z. B. Bordsteine, zu überwinden.

4.9.1. Ankipphilfe (optional)

• Die Ankipphilfe kann einseitig oder beidseitig montiert sein.

• Den Rollstuhl mit beiden Händen an den Schiebegriffen festhalten.

• Mit einem Fuß auf eine der Ankipphilfen treten (Abb. 33) und den

Rollstuhl gleichzeitig an den Schiebegriffen nach unten drücken.

4.9.2. Antikipprollen (optional)

Die Antikipprollen verhindern, dass der Rollstuhl nach hinten umkippt.

Besonders empfehlenswert sind die Antikipprollen für ungeübte oder beinamputierte Rollstuhlfahrer.

Benutzen Sie die Antikipprollen aus

Sicherheitsgründen immer paarweise!

4.10. Beckengurt

Bei Bedarf ist ein Beckengurt als Zubehör verfügbar. Dieser wird bei vorübergehend entferntem oder abgeschwenktem Seitenteil am

Seitenrahmen des Rollstuhls montiert . Schlagen Sie das offene Ende des Gurtes einmal um das Seitenrahmenrohr und fixieren

Sie es anschließend mit der Gurtschnalle.

Die Gurtlängenanpassung erfolgt ebenfalls über die Gurtschnalle.

Stellen Sie die Gurtlänge so ein, dass der Gurt straff sitzt, jedoch nicht drückt. Der Beckengurt muß während der Fahrt immer angelegt und geschlossen sein.

4.11. Radsturz

Sofern Ihr Rollstuhl nicht mit einer Trommelbremse ausgestattet ist, besteht die Möglichkeit, den Radsturz einzustellen. Je größer der Radsturz gewählt wird, um so größer ist die Stabilität beim Drehen und Wenden des Rollstuhls.

4.12. Speichenschutz (optional)

Der Speichenschutz wird mit Kabelbindern an den Speichen befestigt.

4.13. Taschen anbringen

Wenn Sie eine Tasche an Ihrem Rollstuhl anbringen möchten, hängen

Sie die Schlaufen Ihrer Tasche über die Rückenrohre Ihres Rollstuhls.

Bitte beachten Sie, daß sich das maximale Nutzergewicht um das angehängte Gewicht reduziert.

Beachten Sie das die Reflektoren nicht verdeckt sein dürfen.

Achtung mit erhöhen der Zuladung der Tasche steigt auch das Risiko das Ihr Rollstuhl nach hinten umkippt. Die Verwendung von Antikipprollen wird dringend empfohlen.

5. Zubehör

5.1. Beinstütze waagrecht verstellbar (optional)

Für den Rollstuhl BX 11 S steht eine Beinstütze waagrecht verstellbar zur Verfügung.

5.2. Amputationsstütze verstellbar

(optional)

Ebenfalls kann am Rollstuhl BX 11 S eine verstellbare

Amputiationsbeinstütze angebracht werden.

5.3. Ankipphilfe

Um den Rollstuhl leichter ankippen zu können steht eine Ankipphilfe zur Verfügung

5.4. Antikipprollen

Um zu verhindern, daß der Rollstuhl nach hintenumkippt, ist es möglich den Rollstuhl auch mit Antikipprollen auszustatten.


5.5. Winkeleinstellbarer Rücken mit verstellbaren Schieberohre

Auf Wunsch kann der Rollstuhl auch mit einem winkelverstellbaren

Rücken geliefert werden. Hierbei können die Schiebegriffe, unabhängig von anderen Verstellungen, an die individuelle Körpergröße der

Begleitperson angepasst werden.

5.6. Reifenmantel

Zu den unterschiedlichen Größen der Räder ist es auch möglich eine andere Variante für den Mantel des Antriebsrades zu wählen

5.7. Speichenschutz

Um zu vermeiden, daß die Finger in die Speichen hinein geraten, kann

Ihr Rollstuhl auch mit einem Speichenschutz ausgestattet werden.

5.8. Trommelbremse

Für die Ausstattung mit einem 24” Antriebsrad besteht die Möglichkeit zur Ausstattung mit einer Trommelbremse.

5.9. Bremshebelverlängerung

Es ist auch möglich Ihren Rollstuhl mit einer Bremshebelverlängerung ausstatten. Der verlängerte Hebel reduziert den notwendigen

Kraftaufwand und empfiehlt sich daher besonders für Personen mit verminderter Arm- und Handkraft.

5.10. Beckengurt

Auf Wunsch kann ein Beckengurt mitgeliefert werden.

5.11. Steckbare Seitenteile

Als Zubehör stehen auch steck- und höhenverstellbare Seitenteile zur

Verfügung

6. Benutzung

6.1. Ein- und Aussteigen von der

Seite

• Den Rollstuhl und die gegenwärtige bzw. künftige Sitzfläche möglichst dicht seitlich aneinander heranbringen.

•

Den Rollstuhl mit der Feststellbremsen sichern (s. Kap. 4.7).

• Ggf. die Armlehne nach hinten wegschwenken bzw. das Seitenteil abnehmen (s. Kap. 4.3).

• Beide Fußplatten nach oben klappen, zur Seite abschwenken und abnehmen bzw. die einzelne Fußplatte nach oben klappen (s. Kap.

4.2).

• Seitlich auf die andere Sitzfläche rutschen. Dabei so weit hinten wie möglich sitzen.

• Die Beinstützen wieder in die Ausgangsposition bewegen.

• Gegebenenfalls die Seitenteile wieder arretieren.

6.2. Ein- und Aussteigen von vorn

Steigen Sie niemals auf die Fußplatte/n, es besteht

Kippgefahr!

• Die Fußplatte hochklappen bzw. die Beinstützen abnehmen (s. Kap.

4.2).

• Den Rollstuhl und die gegenwärtige bzw. künftige Sitzgelegenheit möglichst dicht frontal aneinander heranbringen und die Feststell-

bremsen beidseitig betätigen (s. Kap. 4.7).

• Sollten Sie aus einem anderen Rollstuhl oder Zimmeruntergestell umsteigen wollen, auch diesen/dieses durch Betätigung der Feststellbremsen sichern.

• Nun durch eine Körperdrehung auf die Sitzfläche rutschen.

• Abschließend die Beinstützen wieder in die Ausgangsposition zurückhängen und die Fußplatten herunterklappen.


6.3. Treppe oder hohe Stufe überwinden

Als Haltepunkte dienen ausschließlich der Rahmen und die Schiebegriffe.

Die Helfer greifen nur an fest montierte Rahmenteile. Die Hebepunkte sind Abhängigkeit von der Modellausstattung.

BX 11 (mit abklabbarer Fußplatte) (Abb. 34)

Um eine Treppe hinaufzufahren, zieht der hintere Helfer den Rollstuhl an den fest montierten Griffen rückwärts die Stufen hinauf. Der untere Helfer greift an den vorderen Rahmenrohren und stabilisiert den

Rollstuhl. Dabei drückt er die Hinterräder des Rollstuhls an die Stufen.

Beim Herunterfahren bremst der untere Helfer, indem er den Rollstuhl gerade an die Stufen drückt. Der obere Helfer hält den Rollstuhl an den

Schiebegriffen, sichert ihn und hält ihn in der richtigen Position. Der

Rollstuhl soll Stufe für Stufe herunterrollen.

Bei Hindernissen und Treppen mit mehr als drei

Stufen müssen zwei Begleitpersonen helfen.

6.4. Fahren mit dem Rollstuhl

• Setzen Sie sich in Ihren Bischoff & Bischoff Rollstuhl. Achten Sie darauf, dass Sie so weit wie möglich hinten sitzen.

• Die Fortbewegung erfolgt über die Greifreifen an den Antriebsrädern. Legen Sie Ihre Hände mit Daumen und gebeugtem Zeigefinger auf die Greifreifen (Abb. 36).

• Aus dieser Haltung schieben Sie den Rollstuhl mit beiden Händen an.

• Nach rechts fahren: den rechten Greifreifen festhalten und nur den linken weiter anschieben.

• Nach links fahren: den Anschub umgekehrt ausführen.

• Drehen auf der Stelle: die Greifreifen mit beiden Händen gleichzeitig gegeneinander schieben.

• Abbremsen: die Geschwindigkeit des Greifreifens mit den Händen reduzieren.

Führen Sie die ersten Fahrversuche vorsichtig durch, bis Sie sich an den

Rollstuhl und sein Fahrverhalten gewöhnt haben. Rollstühle haben nur eine eingeschränkte Kipp- und Rutschsicherheit. Besondere Vorsicht ist geboten beim Bremsen, Anfahren oder Wenden an Steigungen bzw.

Gefällen. Extremes Herauslehnen aus dem Rollstuhl vergrößert zudem die Kippgefahr. Ein Kippschutz verringert diese Gefahr. Um Hindernisse leichter zu überwinden, kann die Begleitperson den Rollstuhl ankippen

(s. Kap. 4.9.1).

8. Pflegehinweise für den Benutzer

8.1. Reinigung und Desinfektion

Die Reinigung der Sitz- und Rückenmaterialien kann mit warmem

Wasser unter Zuhilfenahme eines Schwammes und/oder einer weichen

Bürste vorgenommen werden. Bei hartnäckiger Verschmutzung kann dem Wasser ein handelsübliches Reinigungsmittel zugesetzt werden.

Hinweis: Verwenden Sie keinesfalls aggressive

Reinigungsmittel, wie z.B. Lösungs- / Scheuermittel oder harte Bürsten.

Kunststoffteile pflegen Sie am besten mit einem handelsüblichen

Kunststoffreiniger. Beachten Sie bitte die Produktinformationen des

Reinigungsmittels.

• Kunststoffverkleidungen werden durch nichtionische Tenside und

Lösungsmittel, insbesondere Alkohole angegriffen!

• Die Rahmenteile des Rollstuhls mit einem feuchten Tuch abwischen.

Bei stärkeren Verschmutzungen zusätzlich ein mildes Reinigungsmittel verwenden.

• Die Räder mit einer feuchten Bürste mit Kunststoffborsten reinigen

(keine Drahtbürste verwenden!).

• Schiebegriffe, Armpolster, Sitz- und Rückenpolster mit einem milden

Reinigungsmittel abwaschen.

• Polsterteile können maschinell bei 40°C gewaschen werden. Nicht maschinell trocken, nur Trocknung bei Raumtemperatur.

8.2. Desinfektion

Der Rollstuhl ist mit einem haushaltsüblichen Desinfektionsmittel desinfizierbar. Verwenden Sie zugelassene Sprüh-Desinfektionsmittel oder Wisch-Desinfektionsmittel auf alkoholischer Basis.

• Im Fall von mehreren Produktanwendern, ist ein handelsübliches


Desinfektionsmittel vorgeschrieben.

• Verwenden Sie nur die vom Robert Koch Institut (RKI) und beim Verbund für Angewandte Hygiene e.V. zugelassenen Wischdesinfektionsmittel

(z.B. Bacillol AF oder Kohrsolin FF); Einwirkzeit und Konzentration siehe

Herstellerempfehlung.

• Achtung: Beschädigte Polsterteile können nicht hinreichend desinfiziert werden. Diese sollten ausgetauscht werden.

• Durch Desinfektionsmittel können unter Umständen die Oberflächen in Mitleidenschaft gezogen werden. Längerfristige Einschränkungen der Funktionsfähigkeit kann die Folge sein.

Beachten Sie unsere beiliegende Übersicht über die wichtigsten Pflege-,

Hygiene- und Wartungsarbeiten.

8.3. Überprüfung vor Fahrtantritt

8.3.1. Überprüfung der Bremsen

Überprüfen Sie vor jedem Fahrtantritt die Funktionstüchtigkeit der

Bremsanlage.

Bei angezogenen Bremsen kann der Rollstuhl auf trockener Unterlage nicht weggeschoben werden. Bei gelösten Bremsen fährt der Rollstuhl ohne Schleifgeräusche und mit gutem Geradeauslauf.

Trifft dieses Verhalten nicht zu, verständigen Sie sofort Ihren Fachhändler und ziehen Sie den Rollstuhl bis zur Instandsetzung aus dem

Verkehr!

8.3.2. Überprüfung der Bereifung

Überprüfen Sie vor jedem Fahrtantritt die Reifen auf Unversehrtheit

und korrekten Luftdruck (s.Kap. 4.8.2).

8.3.3. Wartungshinweis

Wir empfehlen den Rollstuhl mindestens einmal im Jahr einer Inspektion durch den Fachhandel zu unterziehen.

Bei Störungen oder Defekten am Rollstuhl ist dieser unverzüglich dem

Fachhändler zur Instandsetzung zu übergeben.

Die Repatur und der Austausch von Teilen wird vom Fachhändler durchgeführt.

Dem Fachhändler werden auf Anfrage die notwendigen Informationen und Unterlagen für die Reparatur und Instandsetzung zur Verfügung gestellt.

Für Fragen steht Ihnen der Bischoff & Bischoff Kundenservice zur

Verfügung.

Sie müssen Ihren Rollstuhl regelmäßig gemäß

Wartungsplan überprüfen und als einwandfrei befinden.

8.3.4. Wartungshinweis für den

Fachhandel

Die Wartungen sind gemäß dem Bischoff & Bischoff Wartungsplan durchzuführen. Auf Wunsch wird ein Wartungsplan zur Verfügung gestellt. Auch ein Schulungsprogramm für den Fachhandel steht zur

Verfügung.

9. Einstellarbeiten für den

Fachhandel

Die in diesem Kapitel erläuterten Einstellarbeiten beeinflussen sicherheitsrelevante Kriterien Ihres Produktes und dürfen daher nur von geschultem Fachpersonal durchgeführt werden.


9.1. Schwerpunkt, Sitzwinkel und

Sitzhöhe

9.1.1. Einstellen des Antriebsrads

Die Position des Antriebsrades beeinflusst das Fahrverhalten Ihres Rollstuhls.

Verändern Sie die Position des Antriebsrades:

• Vertikal: Einstellung der Sitzhöhe und des Sitzwinkels (Abb. 37).

• Horizontal: Einstellung der Schwerpunktlage (Abb. 38).

Sitzgefälle

• Waagerechte bzw. nach vorne abfallende Sitzfläche: die Steckachseaufnahme in der untersten Position montieren. Der nach vorne abfallende Sitzwinkel ist aber zusätzlich auch von der Position des

Vorderrads abhängig.

• Starkes Sitzgefälle nach hinten: die Steckachseaufnahme in der obersten Position montieren. In dieser Position verlagern sich

Sitzneigung und Schwerpunkt nach hinten und der Rollstuhl kann leichter nach hinten umkippen. Benutzen Sie zur Sicherheit die

Antikipprollen!

Durch Veränderung des Sitzwinkels besteht Kipp- und somit erhöhte Verletzungsgefahr.

9.1.2. Höhe des Vorderrades

Nachdem Sie die Hinterradposition eingestellt haben, überprüfen Sie nun die Position der Lenkräder und stellen diese ggf. nach.

• Die Achse lösen und komplett herausnehmen (Abb. 39).

• Das Lenkrad für die gewünschte Sitzhöhe positionieren.

• Die Achse wieder in die Lenkradgabel stecken und festziehen.

• Die Lenkachse lotrecht zum Boden einstellen, um einen Geradeaus-

lauf und ein sicheres Fahrverhalten zu erreichen (s. Kap. 9.1.3).

9.1.3. Winkel der Lenkachse

Durch Veränderung der Antriebsradposition bzw. der des Vorderrads kann sich auch der Winkel der Lenkachse ändern. Diese muss sich jedoch immer im rechten Winkel (90°) zum Boden befinden (Abb. 40).

• Die Arretierung der Castorbuchse lösen, indem Sie die beiden

Schrauben an der Außenseite lösen (Abb. 40). Die Feinjustierung und Fixierung in vorgegebener Position erfolgt durch die Stiftschrauben innerhalb der Castorbuchse.

• Das Vorderrad in die gewünschte Position bringen und anschlie-

ßend die Befestigungsschrauben wieder fest anziehen.

Weitere Details sind der Montageanleitung zu entnehmen.

9.1.4. Radstand

Durch die Verlängerung des Radstandes wird die Stabilität und Standfestigkeit des Rollstuhls verbessert. Verringert man hingegen den Radstand, so verbessert man die Wendigkeit. Eine Verringerung des Radstandes ist nur für geübte Fahrer/innen empfehlenswert.

Bei einer Veränderung des Radstandes ist ein anschließendes Einstellen der Kniehebelbremse unbedingt erforderlich!


9.2. Einstellen der Feststellbremsen




Sollten die Bremsen nur noch unzureichend oder ungleichmäßig wirken, kontaktieren Sie Ihren Fachhändler. Dieser prüft die Bremsen wie folgt:

• Liegt ungleichmäßiger Abrieb des Reifenprofils vor, oder ist das

Profil gar nicht mehr sichtbar, den Reifen wechseln.

• Ist am Brensbolzen das Profil nicht mehr sichtbar, den Bremsbolzen wechseln.

• Das Bremssystem in Position verschieben, die sichere Bremswirkung in allen Fahrsituationen bietet und betätigbar ist.

• Zum Einstellen des Abstands lösen Sie die zwei Innensechskantschrauben an der Bremshalterung (Abb. 41)

• Anschließend schieben Sie das Bremssystem entlang der Halterung in die korrekte Position.

• Die beiden Schrauben wieder festziehen.

• Prüfen, ob die Bremse beim Betätigen des Hebels vollständig einrastet und nicht zurückschnappt.

• Anschließend die Schrauben noch einmal fest anziehen und eine

Bremsprobe durchführen!

Stellen Sie sicher, dass beide Antriebsräder einen gleichmäßigen Luftdruck von 7,5 bar aufweisen.

9.3. Einstellen der Trommelbremsen

Um eine optimale Bremswirkung zu erreichen, wird die Bremskraft an der Einstellschraube justiert. Die Bremskraft wird durch Herausdrehen der Einstellschraube verstärkt und durch Hineindrehen verringert (Abb.

42).

• Drehen Sie bitte die Einstellschraube heraus, bis Sie am sich drehenden Rad Schleifgeräusche wahrnehmen.

• Drehen Sie dann die Einstellschraube hinein, bis die Schleifgeräusche verschwinden. Das Rad läuft dann frei.

• Nach Beendigung der Einstellung wird die Einstellschraube durch

Festziehen der Kontermutter fixiert.

9.4. Einstellen der Antikipprollen

Antikipprollen verhindern, dass der Rollstuhl nach hinten umkippt.

• Einstellen des Abstandes zwischen Rad und Boden auf ca. 30 -

50mm: die Scheibe zurückziehen und die Antikipprolle entlang der

Führung verschieben (Abb. 43).

Besonders empfehlenswert sind die Antikipprollen für ungeübte oder bei beinamputierte Rollstuhlfahrer.

Falls der Nutzer keine Antikipprollen benötigt, können Sie diesen in die

oberste Position schieben oder komplett herausziehen (s. Kap. 4.9.2).

Benutzen Sie die Antikipprollen aus

Sicherheitsgründen immer paarweise!


9.5. Wechseln des Reifenmantels und -schlauchs

Unabhängig davon ob Sie nur den Reifenmantel tauschen oder den

Schlauch reparieren/wechseln möchten, in beiden Fällen ist immer der

Schlauch komplett auszubauen.

Für den Wechsel des Reifenmantels oder für die Reparatur des

Schlauches benötigen Sie folgende Werkzeuge:

- Einen kleinen Schraubenzieher

- Ein handelsübliches Schlauchreparaturkit

- 1 Set handelsüblicher Mantelheber mit mindestens 3 Mantelhebern.

Demontage des Mantels:

1. Bauen Sie das Rad aus, siehe Kap. 4.8.1.

2. Legen Sie das Rad mit dem Greifreifen nach unten auf eine nicht kratzende Unterlage.

3. Lassen Sie die Luft aus dem Reifen, in dem Sie mit dem

Schraubenzieher den Stift in der Mitte des Ventils nach unten drücken bis Sie hören, daß die Luft entweicht.

4. Schieben Sie 2 Mantelheber mit der Unterseite nach oben zeigend unter den Wulst der Felge, kippen die Mantelheber in Richtung der

Speichen und ziehen so mit beiden Mantelhebern gleichzeitig den

Mantel nach oben.

5. Hängen Sie die Mantelheber in den Speichen ein, siehe Abb. 47

6. Ziehen Sie einen Mantelheber entlang der Felge ringsherum um den ganzen Reifen.

7. Drücken Sie dann das Ventil heraus. Falls sich noch zu viel Luft im

Reifen befindet, lassen Sie diese wie unter 3. beschrieben noch ab.

8. Ziehen Sie den Schlauch aus dem gesamten Mantel heraus.

9. Wenn Sie den Reifenmantel tauschen möchten, ziehen Sie diesen einfach seitlich ab.

Montage des Reifenmantels und des Schlauchs:

1. Stülpen Sie eine Mantelhälfte zunächst auf der dem Greifreifen gegenüberliegende Felgenseite über das Felgenhorn.

2. Drücken Sie an der für die Montage des Ventils vorgesehenen

Stelle den Mantelwulst nach unten, achten Sie dabei darauf, daß der

Mantel um das übrige Rad herum oberhalb der Felge bleibt. Stecken

Sie dann das Ventil durch das dafür vorgesehene Loch.

3. Stecken Sie den Mantelheber hinter den Mantelwulst und hebeln den Mantel vorsichtig über den Schlauch. Achten Sie darauf daß Sie den Schlauch nicht einquetschen.

4. Hängen Sie den Mantelheber in die Speiche ein. Achten Sie darauf, daß Sie den Schlauch nicht beschädigen.

5. Stopfen Sie nun den Schlauch um den ganzen Reifen herum unter den Mantel.

Behelfsweise können Sie dies durch walken des Mantels unterstützen.

8. Walken Sie den Mantel zur Unterstützung um das Ventil in die richtige Position zu rücken. Machen Sie dies auch bevor der Reifen aufgepumpt wird, damit der Schlauch richtig in der Felgenschulter liegt.

Mantelmontage:

1. Die Unterseiten der Mantelheber sind mit nach oben gewendeter

Seite zwischen Mantel und Felge zu schieben.

2. Mit den Mantelhebern ist nun der Mantelwulst über die Felge zu werfen.

3. Jetzt ist einer der beiden Mantelheber entlang des Felgenhorns ganz um den Reifen herum zu ziehen und somit den Mantelwulst hinter das

10. Reparatur

Reparaturen und Instandhaltungsmaßnahmen dürfen nur von autorisierten Partnern (Sanitätshäuser oder Fachhändler) durchgeführt werden. Einen Partner in Ihrer Nähe erfragen Sie bitte telefonisch bei unserem Kundenservice.

11. Transport

11.1. Transport des Rollstuhls

Ihr Rollstuhl sollte nur in zusammengefaltetem Zustand transportiert werden (Abb. 69).

Um den Rollstuhl für den Transport in einem Fahrzeug oder Flugzeug so handlich wie möglich zu machen, entfernen Sie alle abnehmbaren Teile

(Beinstützen, Antriebsräder, Armlehnen, einsteckbare Zubehörteile) und

falten den Rollstuhl (s. Kap. 4.1).

Achten Sie beim Zusammenfalten darauf, daß Sie keine Gliedmaßen eingklemmen.

Im zusammengefaltetem Zustand sollte der Rollstuhl an festen Rahmenteilen im Fahrzeug gesichert werden.

11.2. Beförderung in Kraftfahrzeugen

Dass Ihr Rollstuhl Rollstuhl nicht als Sitz in Kraftfahrzeugen zur Beförderung mobilitätsbehinderter Personen (KMP) zugelassen ist, erkennen

Sie anhand des Symbols auf dem Typenschild (Abb. 69):

Der Rollstuhl ist nicht Crash-getestet und darf daher auf keinen Fall als Sitz in einem KMP verwendet werden. Es besteht Lebensgefahr!

13. Wartungshinweise für den

Fachhandel

Typische Verschleißteile sind Bremsen und Reifen. Wenden Sie sich für

Ersatzteile an Ihren Fachhändler.

Wir empfehlen, dass Sie Ihren Rollstuhl alle 12 Monate Ihrem Fachhändler zur Inspektion übergeben.

Übergeben Sie den Rollstuhl bei Störungen oder Defekten unverzüglich

Ihrem Fachhändler zur Instandsetzung.

Dem Fachhändler werden auf Anfrage die notwendigen Informationen und Unterlagen für die Reparatur und Instandsetzung zur Verfügung gestellt. Ein Schulungsprogramm für den Fachhandel steht zur Verfügung.

Reparatur- und Einstellarbeiten erfordern eine spezielle technische Ausbildung und dürfen daher nur von Fachhändlern durchgeführt werden, die durch die Bischoff & Bischoff GmbH autorisiert sind.


14. Weitergabe des Rollstuhls

Der Rollstuhl ist für einen Wiedereinsatz geeignet. Bevor er an einen anderen Nutzer weitergegeben wird, ist er durch einen Fachhändler zu warten und hygienisch aufzubereiten. Bei der Weitergabe des Rollstuhls denken Sie bitte daran, diese Bedienungsanleitung und die Anschrift

Ihres Fachhändlers dem neuen Nutzer zu übergeben.

Der Rollstuhl muss gemäß Wartungsplan geprüft werden und einwandfrei sein.

15. Lagerung / Versand

Falls der Rollstuhl eingelagert oder versendet werden soll, müssen alle einsteckbaren und nicht befestigten Teile, außer den Antriebsrädern, entfernt und in passenden Kartons einzeln verpackt werden. Die einzeln verpackten Teile können dann zusammen in einem größeren Karton verpackt werden. Empfehlenswert ist es, die Originalverpackung aufzubewahren und für diese Zwecke einzulagern, so dass sie im Bedarfsfall verfügbar ist. Dann ist Ihr Rollstuhl während der Lagerung oder des Transportes optimal gegen Umwelteinflüsse geschützt.

Für die Lagerung Ihres Rollstuhls beachten Sie bitte die Angaben in den technischen Daten.

Um Schimmelbildung und eine Beschädigung der Polsterteile zu vermeiden, sollte der Lagerort möglichst trocken und nicht direktem Sonnenlicht ausgesetzt sein.

16. Entsorgung

Wenn Ihr Rollstuhl nicht mehr verwendet wird und entsorgt werden soll, wenden Sie sich an Ihren Fachhändler.

Überprüfen Sie Ihren Rollstuhl regelmäßig gemäß

Wartungsplan.

Wenn Sie die Entsorgung selber übernehmen möchten, erkundigen Sie sich bei ortsansässigen

Recyclingunternehmen nach den Vorschriften Ihres

Wohnorts.

17. Garantie

1. Für die von Bischoff & Bischoff gelieferten Produkte beträgt die

Gewährleistungsfrist 24 Monate ab Kaufdatum. Die Produkte werden frei von Fabrikations- und Materialmängeln geliefert. Sofern nachweislich ein Werkstoff- bzw. Herstellungsfehler vorliegt, werden schadhafte Teile kostenlos ersetzt.

2. Ansprüche aus der Gewährleistung entfallen, wenn eine Reparatur oder ein Ersatz des Produktes oder eines Teiles aus den folgenden

Gründen erforderlich ist: a) Normaler Verschleiß, dazu gehören insbesondere folgende Teile, sofern verbaut: Batterien, Motorkohlen, Handgriffe, Armauflagen,

Polsterung, Reifen, Bremsen, Kappen etc.

b) Überlastung des Produkts wie z.B. eine Überschreitung des maximalen Nutzergewichts oder der Zuladung.

c) Das Produkt oder das Teil wurde nicht gemäß der Bedienungsanleitung, den Pflege- und Hygienehinweisen oder den, in den Wartungshinweisen aufgeführten Empfehlungen des Herstellers gepflegt oder gewartet.

e) Das Produkt oder ein Teil wurde durch Nachlässigkeit, Unfall oder unsachgemäße Verwendung beschädigt.

f) Es wurden Änderungen / Modifikationen am Produkt oder an Teilen durchgeführt, die von den Herstellervorgaben abweichen.

g) Es wurden Reparaturen durchgeführt, bevor unser Kundendienst

über den jeweiligen Sachverhalt informiert wurde.

3. Zur Geltendmachung der Gewährleistung benachrichtigen Sie bitte umgehend Ihren Fachhändler, mit einer genauen Beschreibung des

Problems. Das Produkt muss von einem von Bischoff & Bischoff autorisierten Fachhändler repariert werden.

4. Für Teile, die im Rahmen der Gewährleistung repariert oder getauscht werden, verlängert sich die Gewährleistung, auf die für das

Produkt verbleibende Gewährleistungsdauer gemäß Ziffer 1.

5. Auf Originalersatzteile, die auf Kosten des Kunden eingebaut wurden, wird nach dem Einbau eine Garantie von 12 Monaten gewährt.

6. Schlägt die Nachbesserung nach angemessener Frist fehl, kann der

Käufer nach seiner Wahl Herabsetzung der Vergütung verlangen oder vom Vertrag zurücktreten.

7. Die Gewährleistung unterliegt dem Recht des Landes, in dem das

Bischoff & Bischoff Produkt gekauft wurde.

Beachten Sie außerdem die Bischoff & Bischoff Pflege-, Gewährleistungs-, Hygiene- und Wartungshinweise. Diese stellt Ihr Fachhändler

Ihnen zur Verfügung.

Dear user,

You have chosen a high-quality wheelchair from Bischoff & Bischoff.

We thank you for your trust.

This instruction manual contains all the necessary information for using the BX 11 wheelchair in the version with a full-length footplate and the BX 11 S wheelchair with swing-off legrests.

The wheelchair has been designed to offer you many advantages and to meet your needs. The BX 11 / BX 11 S can be excellently adapted to your individual body dimensions thanks to the various insertion options and the optimum adaptability with regard to seat width, seat height, seat depth, back height, etc. The BX 11 / BX 11 S can also be adapted to your individual body dimensions.

The wheelchair is designed for both indoor and outdoor use for active users who are dependent on a wheelchair. Before using your new wheelchair for the first time, please read and follow the operating instructions carefully. This is an integral and necessary part of the wheelchair. Keep the operating instructions within easy reach and give them to anyone who passes on the wheelchair.

2. Important safety instructions

2.1. General safety instructions

• To avoid falls and dangerous situations, first practice using your new wheelchair on level, manageable terrain. An accompanying person is recommended.

• Before using the wheelchair, check that all attached parts are properly fastened.

• Only lift the wheelchair by firmly mounted parts (see chapter 5.3).

• Ensure that the quick-release axles are correctly seated in the axle mounts, otherwise there is a risk of injury.

• When shifting balance due to body movements or loading the wheelchair, the risk of tipping to all sides increases.

• Do not use the wheelchair to transport more than one person or loads. Observe the intended use (see chapter 2.6)!

• When adjusting the wheelchair, there is a risk of trapping body parts!

• Keep clothing and body parts away from gaps between moving parts!

• When negotiating obstacles (steps, etc.), have an attendant present. Use the tipping aid (see chapter 4.9.1).

• Only climb stairs and larger obstacles with the help of at least two escorts (see chapter 5.3). Use facilities such as ramps, lifts or stairclimbing aids if available (Fig. A).

• Do not drive down a kerb or other steps (Fig. B).

• When driving on a slope/gradient, note that there is a danger of tipping over from just a few degrees. The use of anti-tip rollers (see chap. 4.9.2) is recommended (Fig. C).

• Avoid collisions of any kind!

• Only ride on level, firm ground.

• When getting in or out of the wheelchair, apply both parking brakes

(see chapter 4.7).

• Observe the road traffic regulations in road traffic.


• Check the passive lighting (reflectors) of your wheelchair before each journey to ensure that it is intact and visible to other road users.

• Use the parking brake only for parking.

• The seat materials are resistant to flammability according to EN

1021-2. Nevertheless, keep cigarettes and other possible sources of fire away from your product.

• Protect the wheelchair from sunlight to avoid burns from heated components.

• Protect the wheelchair from the cold.

• When transferring between wheelchair and bed (see chap. 5.1, 5.2) always

• apply both parking brakes.

• If possible, swing the side part of the entry/exit side backwards.

• swivel the foot plates up or away.

• Reporting of incidents.

If you, as the operator, user or their relatives, discover possible defects or functional limitations, please contact an authorised specialist dealer immediately. Operators, users or their relatives should inform their specialist dealer who provided the product of any suspected serious incidents that have had or may have had, directly or indirectly, any of the following consequences and which affect them. You can also report this to the competent federal authority.

• the death of a patient, user or other person,

• the temporary or permanent serious deterioration of the state of health of a patient, user or other person,

• a serious threat to public health.

2.2. Tipping Hazard

The anti-tip castors on both sides (see chapter 4.9.2) prevent the wheelchair from tipping backwards as far as possible. Please note that driving with anti-tip castors is not recommended on uneven terrain, lifting platform and ramps.

Ensure sufficient distance upwards, downwards and to the sides.

2.3. Safety in vehicles

The BX 11 / BX 11 S is not suitable as a vehicle seat. It must not be used as such under any circumstances. It does not meet the requirements of ISO 7176-19. Failure to do so may result in serious injury and death in the event of an accident.

You can tell that your wheelchair is not approved as a seat in motor vehicles for the transport of mobility-impaired persons by the symbol on the type plate, (Fig. D).

2.4. Participation in road traffic

The wheelchair is designed for indoor and outdoor use. Please note that you are participating in public road traffic and must comply with the regulations of the Road Traffic Act. Do not endanger other participants by driving recklessly, this applies especially on pavements.

2.5. Brakes

Service brake:

When driving, brake the wheelchair using the handrims. Please note that your hands may get hot.

Parking brake/parking:

As soon as the wheelchair is stationary, push both brake levers forward.

The wheelchair stands safely braked if it does not can no longer be pushed away and both brake levers are pushed forward as far as they will go. Pull the lever back towards you to release the brake (see chapter 4.7.1).

Drum brake:

The wheelchair can optionally be equipped with a drum brake that can only be operated by an attendant via the brake levers on the push handles.


2.6. Purpose

The wheelchair is designed exclusively for increasing the mobility and for transporting disabled adults with the indicated indications (see chapter 2.6). The maximum user weight is 135 kg.

To be noted:

We can only provide a warranty if the product is used under the specified conditions and for the intended purposes.

2.7. Indications

The provision of a wheelchair is suitable for adults who are unable to walk or have a severe walking disability,

• e.g. through:

• Paralysis

• Limb loss

• Limb defect/deformity

• Joint contractures (not on both arms)

• Joint damage (not to both arms)

• Other illnesses

2.8. Contraindications

• Wheelchair provision is unsuitable for people with:

• Incapacity to sit

• Joint damage / joint contractures in both arms

• Perceptual disorders

• Severe balance disorders

• Reduced and insufficient vision

• Severe limitations of cognitive abilities

2.9. Declaration of conformity

We Bischoff & Bischoff GmbH declare under our sole responsibility that the wheelchair BX 11 / BX 11 S complies with all requirements of MDR

2017/745 that are applicable.

2.10. Responsibility

We shall only provide a warranty if

• the product is used under the specified conditions and for the intended purpose,

• changes, extensions, repairs and maintenance work are only carried out by such persons who have been authorised by us to do so and the changes or extensions have been approved by Bischoff &

Bischoff and

• the wheelchair is used in compliance with all instructions for use.

2.11. Useful life

The expected product life is up to 5 years. This is only possible if the product is used as intended and the safety, care and maintenance instructions in this user manual are followed.


3. Product and delivery overview

3.1. Delivery inspection

All Bischoff und Bischoff GmbH products are subjected to a proper final inspection in our company and provided with the CE mark (see chapter 3.3).

The wheelchair is delivered in a special box in factory settings. After unpacking, keep the carton if possible. It is used for possible later storage or return of the product.

Delivery and instruction are usually carried out by qualified medical supply retailers.

In case of shipment by rail or forwarding agent, the goods must be checked immediately for transport damage in the presence of the deliverer.

Check the contents for completeness (see chapter 3.2) and integrity. In case of irregularities or damage, contact our customer service.

3.2. Scope of delivery

To avoid damage during transport, plug-in attachments are supplied as standard.

After receiving the goods, please immediately check the contents for completeness. The contents consist of:

• Repackaging

• Wheelchair (pre-assembled)

• Back cushion

• 2 leg rests (on the BX 11 S)

4. Assembly / Adaptations

4.1. Fold and unfold

Your new Bischoff & Bischoff wheelchair is delivered assembled and folded in a Bischoff & Bischoff original cardboard box.

In order to avoid transport damage, plug-in attachments are supplied separately.

Unfold

• Position the folding wheelchair next to you. (Fig. 04)

• Tilt the folding wheelchair towards you so that one drive wheel is unloaded.

• Push the seat tubes apart and hold them with the flat of your hand.

Press down until it is locked in the holder on the frame (Fig. 05).

• Fold down the foot plate(s) (Fig. 05).

Wrinkles

• Position the folding wheelchair next to you.

• Fold the foot plate(s) upwards (Fig. 06, Fig. 12).

• Loosen the Velcro fastener of the back cover (under the seat).

• If present, remove the seat cushion, then pull the seat tensioning upwards in the middle. Then remove the tubes of the seat. Fold together with the flat of your hand, making sure tothat these are only pressed on the underside so that the fingers are not trapped in the seat.

• To ensure that the wheelchair is fully folded, you can additionally push the wheelchair together as far as possible using the armrests or the wheels. (Fig. 07).

Watch your fingers when folding and unfolding, especially in the folding area, as there is a danger of getting stuck.

4.2. Legrests

4.2.1. Foot plate foldable

The BX 11 is equipped with a continuous, fold-down foot plate (Fig.

08).

You can fold up the foot plate to the side, adjust the angle and set it to the lower leg length of the user.

Fold the foot plate up and down

• Reach under the foot plate and fold it up sideways (Fig. 09).

• As soon as you are sitting in the wheelchair, fold down the footplate again. Then press the footplate down until you hear it click into place.

Adjusting the legrest length

The foot plate can be adjusted 8 times in 15 mm steps to the lower leg length adjustable.

• To do this, remove both hexagon socket screws on the leg support tube (inside and outside) and adjust to the desired length (Fig. 10).

• Tighten the screws again.

Adjusting the angle of the foot plate

The angle of the foot plate can be adjusted (Fig. 11):

• Unscrew the hexagon socket screw.

• Rotate the sprocket to adjust the angle of the footplate to the desired position

• Tighten the screw again.

4.2.2. Legrests can be swivelled down

The BX 11 S is equipped with removable leg supports (Fig. 12). You can individually fold up the foot plates to the side, adjust the angle and set them to the lower leg length of the user. You can remove the legrests without tools, swivel them away and then reassemble.

Fitting the leg rests

• Hold the leg support by the upper part so that it points outwards.

• Insert the leg support with the guide profile into the frame hole

(Fig. 13).

• Swivel the legrest forward until it clearly audibly engages (Fig. 13).

• Fold down the foot plate if necessary.

•

Swivel away and remove the legrests

To make it easier for you to get in and out of your folding wheelchair, you can swing the leg supports outwards or inwards without having to remove them.

• fold up the foot plates if necessary.

• pull the handle upwards (Fig. 14) and pull the legrest upwards.

• swivel outwards (Fig. 15).

• In the outward position, the legrest can be pulled out upwards (Fig.

15).

Before you set off, refit the legrests as described above.

Adjusting the legrest length

The foot plates can be adjusted 5 times in 20 mm steps to the length of the lower leg.

• To do this, remove both hexagon socket screws on the leg support tube (inside and outside) and adjust to the desired length (Fig. 16).

- Tighten the screws again.

Angle adjustable foot plates

The angle of the foot plates can be adjusted (Fig. 17).

• Unscrew the hexagon socket screw.

• Turn the sprocket to set the foot plate in the desired position.

• - Tighten the screw again.

4.2.3. Horizontally adjustable leg supports (optional)

Assembly, disassembly and swivelling are carried out in the same way as for the standard leg supports. To adjust, loosen the clamping lever, then adjust the legrest to the desired length and tighten the clamping lever

The horizontal adjustment works as follows:

• push the locking lever forward.

• by raising or lowering the footplate support tube, bring the legrest into the desired position.

• Release the locking lever; the legrest locks automatically.

Never climb onto the foot plate and watch your fingers when swivelling, there is a danger of getting caught.


Before driving off, make sure that the legrests are firmly seated!

Make all settings the same on both sides.

The legrest must be swivelled away or removed in order to sit down. Never sit on the legrest. Danger of tipping over!

4.3. Amputation leg support (optional)

Assembly, disassembly and swivelling are the same as for the standard legrests, adjustment is the same as for the adjustable legrests, and horizontal adjustment is the same as for the horizontally adjustable legrests.

4.3.1. Active side panels

The wheelchair is equipped with an aluminium clothes guard as standard (Fig. 18). This is attached to the front and rear of the frame. The height of the clothes guard must be adjusted if the seat position or the tyre size is changed.

The pluggable side sections are equipped with height-adjustable armrests. You can remove the side part completely.

Armrest height

• Press the push-button at the lower end of the tube and adjust the armrest to the desired height (Fig.19.

• Release the push button so that the armrest locks into the next possible position.

Removing the side panels

• Press the push-button at the lower end of the tube and pull the section completely out of the lock (Fig. 19a).

To assemble, push the side part into the lock and adjust the armrest to the desired height. The side part must engage audibly.

4.4. Backrest angle

4.4.1. Backrest (standard)

The backrest of your wheelchair is not adjustable. The backrest angle is

90° to the seat surface.

4.4.2. Angle-adjustable Backrest

(optional)

The optional backrest of the wheelchair can be adjusted in angle (Fig.

20).

Your dealer will tell you how to adjust the backrest in the assembly instructions.


4.5. Push handle height

4.5.1. Push handles (standard)

The push handles can be adjusted to a comfortable position for the accompanying person. The backrest height and the back sag must then be adjusted.

For further adjustment options, please consult the installation instructions of your dealer.

4.5.2. Push handles (optional)

• The optional push handles can be adjusted to the individual height of the accompanying person, independently of other adjustments.

• Release the lock (Fig. 21).

• Set a comfortable height for the accompanying person.

• Tighten the lock again.

4.6. Fitting seat and back

4.6.1. Seat sag

The seat of your wheelchair can be retightened. Always tighten it sufficiently. Nevertheless, make sure that there is enough slack in the pelvic area.

• If present, first remove your seat cushion.

• Undo the Velcro Fastener under the seat

• Pull the seat upholstery as tight as desired and tighten with the

Velcro Fastener (Fig. 22).

• Put your seat cushion back on the seat.

4.6.2. Back sag

A well-fitted back allows you to sit more relaxed in the long term and reduces the risk of pressure points. Make sure that there is enough sag in the pelvic area!

• First, completely remove the upholstery of the backrest covering

(Fig. 23).

• Loosen the Velcro Fasteners of the tensioning straps (Fig 24).

• Adjust the tapes in order, starting from the bottom.

• Put the upholstery back over the tensioning straps.

4.7. Brakes

The wheelchair is equipped as standard with parking brakes for operation by equipped for the wheelchair user. Optionally, you can extend the equipment with a drum brake, which is used by an attendant.

Your specialist dealer can adjust the drum brake using the installation instructions.

To adjust the brake, contact your specialist dealer.

Remember that incorrectly adjusted brakes can have life-threatening consequences.

The parking brake must not be used as a service brake, as there is a risk of fatal injury due to the risk of falling!


Be aware of the risk of burns if your hands heat up when braking over the push rims!

4.7.1. Actuation of the locking brake

The parking brake may only be used for parking. Only the hand rims on the drive wheels (Fig. 25) or the optional drum brakes for escorts are used to brake the drive.

• When braking, grasp the highest point of the handrims. First let the handrims slide between your hands.

• Slowly apply the braking force via the holding force that you apply to the gripping.

• To increase the braking force, slowly increase the holding force on the handrims until the wheelchair stops.

• As soon as the wheelchair is stationary, push both brake levers forward (Fig. 26). The wheelchair is safely braked when it can no longer be pushed away and both brake levers are pushed forward as far as they will go.

• Pull the lever back towards you to release the brake.

4.7.2. Operation with brake lever extension (optional)

You can optionally equip your wheelchair with a brake lever extension.

The extended lever reduces the necessary effort and is therefore particularly recommended for people with reduced arm and hand strength.

• Bring the wheelchair to a standstill (see chapter 4.7.1).

• Push both brake levers forward. The wheelchair is safely braked when it can no longer be pushed away and both brake levers are pushed forward as far as they will go (fig. 26/27).

• Pull the lever back towards you to release the brake. Operating position: Extend the brake lever to its longest position and fold it down before driving off (Fig. 28, Fig. 29).

Fold the brake lever extension backwards during side transfer (Abb. 29).

For brake adjustment and installation of the brake lever extension, please consult the installation instructions provided by your dealer.

The parking brake - with and without brake lever extension - only acts on one drive wheel and must therefore always be used on both sides!

Never use the brake lever as a support

- e.g. when transferring or standing up - otherwise there is a risk of tipping and falling! The lever could break off!

4.7.3. Drum brake (optional)

The wheelchair can be equipped with a brake system that can be operated by an attendant via the brake levers on the push handles.

(Fig. 30).


4.8. Wheels and tyres

4.8.1. Thru axle

The wheelchair has quick-release axles as standard. Therefore you can easily mount and dismount the wheels.

• Press the locking button of the quick-release axle with the thumb and pull off the wheel (Fig. 31).

• When refitting, simply place the wheel on the holder. When doing so, press in the locking button.

The locking sound of the quick-release axle tells you that the wheel is securely mounted. After each assembly, make sure that the wheels are firmly seated!

4.8.2. Drive wheels

Check the drive wheels regularly for sufficient tyre pressure and tyre tread.

Set the tyre pressure as indicated on the tyre casing.

4.8.3. Castor wheels

If the castor wheels are worn or defective, ask your specialist dealer to repair them!

4.9. Anti-tip rollers and tipping aid

(optional)

The combination of anti-tip wheels and tipping aid (Fig. 32) can be used for more stability on slopes. It also helps attendants to overcome obstacles such as kerbs.

Your dealer can find the setting in the assembly instructions.

4.9.1. Tipping aid (optional)

• The tipping aid can be mounted on one or both sides.

• Hold the wheelchair by the push handles with both hands.

• Step with one foot on one of the tipping aids (Fig. 33) and push the wheelchair downwards by the push handles at the same time.

4.9.2. Anti-tip rollers (optional)

The anti-tip castors prevent the wheelchair from tipping over backwards. The anti-tip castors are particularly recommended for inexperienced wheelchair users or wheelchair users with leg amputations.

4.9.3. Lap belt

If required, a lap belt is available as an accessory. This is fitted to the side frame of the wheelchair when the side section is temporarily removed or swung down. Fold the open end of the strap once around the side frame tube and then fix it with the strap buckle.

The harness length is also adjusted via the harness buckle. Adjust the belt length so that the belt is tight but not pressing. The lap belt must always be fastened and closed while riding.

4.10. Wheel camber

If your wheelchair is not equipped with a drum brake, it is possible to adjust the wheel camber. The greater the wheel camber, the greater the stability when turning and twisting the wheelchair.

Contact your dealer for adjustment

4.11. Spoke protector (optional)

The spoke protector is attached to the spokes with cable ties.

4.12. Attach pockets (optional)

If you want to attach a bag to your wheelchair, hang the loops of your bag over the back tubes of your wheelchair. Please note that the maximum user weight is reduced by the attached weight.

Please note that the reflectors must not be covered.

Caution: Increasing the load of the bag also increases the risk of your wheelchair tipping over backwards. The use of anti-tip wheels is strongly recommended.

5. Accessories

5.1. Legrest horizontally adjustable

(optional)

A horizontally adjustable legrest is available for the BX 11 S wheelchair.

5.2. Amputation support adjustable

(optional)

An adjustable amputation leg support can also be attached to the

BX 11 S wheelchair.

5.3. Tipping aid

A tipping aid is available to make it easier to tip the wheelchair.

5.4. Anti-tip rollers

To prevent the wheelchair from tipping over backwards, it is also possible to equip the wheelchair with anti-tip castors.

5.5. Angle-adjustable back with adjustable sliding tubes

On request, the wheelchair can also be supplied with an angle-

Adaptive wheelchair | BX 11 | BX 11 S adjustable back. In this case, the push handles can be adjusted to the individual height of the accompanying person, independently of other adjustments.

5.6. Tyre casing

In addition to the different sizes of the wheels, it is also possible to choose a different variant for the casing of the drive wheel.

5.7. Spoke protector

To prevent fingers from getting caught in the spokes, your wheelchair can also be equipped with a spoke guard.

5.8. Drum brake

For the equipment with a 24” drive wheel, there is the option to equip with a drum brake.

5.9. Brake lever extension

It is also possible to equip your wheelchair with a brake lever extension.

The extended lever reduces the amount of force required and is therefore particularly recommended for people with reduced arm and hand strength.

5.10. Plug-in side panels with height adjustment

Plug-in side panels with height-adjustable armrests (PU foam) are also available as accessories.

5.11. Lap belt

A Lap belt can be supplied on request.

6. Use

6.1. Entering and exiting from the side

• Bring the wheelchair and the current or future seat as close together as possible.

• Secure the wheelchair with the parking brake (see chapter 4.7).

• If necessary, swing the armrest backwards or remove the side part

(see chapter 4.3).

• Fold both foot plates upwards, swing them to the side and remove them or fold the single foot plate upwards (see chapter 4.2).

• Slide sideways onto the other seat. Sit as far back as possible.

• Move the leg supports back to the starting position.

• If necessary, lock the side parts again.

6.2. Entering and exiting from the front

Never climb onto the foot plate(s), there is a danger of tipping over!

• Fold up the foot plate or remove the leg supports (see chapter 4.2).

• Bring the wheelchair and the current or future seat as close as possible to each other and apply the parking brakes on both sides

(see chapter 4.7).

• Should you wish to transfer from another wheelchair or room undercarriage, these must also be secured by applying the parking brakes.

• Now slide onto the seat by turning the body.


• Finally, hang the leg supports back in the starting position and fold down the foot plates.

6.3. Climbing over stairs or a high step

Only the frame and the push handles serve as holding points.

The helpers only lift firmly mounted frame parts. The lifting points depend on the model equipment.

BX 11 (with detachable foot plate) (Fig. 34).

BX 11 S (with swing-away legrests) (Fig. 35).

To drive up a staircase, the rear helper pulls the wheelchair backwards up the steps using the fixed handles. The lower helper grips the front frame tubes and stabilises the wheelchair. In doing so, he presses the rear wheels of the wheelchair against the steps.

When driving down, the lower helper brakes by pushing the wheelchair straight against the steps. The upper helper holds the wheelchair by the push handles, secures it and keeps it in the correct position. The wheelchair should roll down one step at a time.

• Sit in your Bischoff & Bischoff wheelchair. Make sure that you sit as far back as possible.

• Locomotion is via the handrims on the drive wheels.

• Place your hands with thumb and bent index finger on the handrims (Fig. 36).

• From this position push the wheelchair with both hands.

• Drive to the right: hold the right handrim and continue to push only the left handrim.

• Drive to the left: perform the push in reverse.

• Turning on the spot: push the handrims against each other with both hands at the same time.

• Braking: reduce the speed of the handrim with your hands.

• Carry out the first driving attempts carefully until you have become accustomed to the wheelchair and its driving behaviour.

Wheelchairs have only limited tipping and sliding safety. Take special care when braking, starting or turning on inclines or declines. Extreme leaning out of the wheelchair also increases the risk of tipping over. An anti-tipper reduces this danger. To overcome obstacles more easily, the attendant can tilt the wheelchair (see chapter 4.9.1).

8. Care instructions for the user

8.1. Cleaning and disinfection

The seat and back materials can be cleaned with warm water using a sponge and/or a soft brush. In case of stubborn dirt, a commercial cleaning agent can be added to the water.

Note: Never use aggressive cleaning agents such as solvents / scouring agents or hard brushes.

Plastic parts are best cleaned with a commercially available plastic cleaner. Please observe the product information of the cleaning agent.

• Plastic claddings are attacked by non-ionic surfactants and solvents, especially alcohols!

• Wipe the frame parts of the wheelchair with a damp cloth. For heavier soiling, also use a mild cleaning agent.

• Clean the wheels with a damp brush with plastic bristles (do not use a wire brush!).

• Wash the push handles, arm pads, seat and back pads with a mild detergent.

• Upholstery parts can be machine washed at 40°C. Do not machine dry, only dry at room temperature.

8.2. Disinfection

The wheelchair can be disinfected with a household disinfectant. Use approved spray disinfectants or alcohol-based wipe-on disinfectants.(z.B.

Bacillol AF oder Kohrsolin FF); See manufacturer‘s recommendations for application time and concentration.

• In the case of multiple product users, a commercial disinfectant is prescribed.

• Use only wipe disinfectants approved by the Robert Koch Institute


(RKI) and the Association for Applied Hygiene (Association for Applied

Hygiene e.V.) (e.g. Bacillol AF or Kohrsolin FF); see manufacturer‘s recommendations for exposure time and concentration.

• Caution: Damaged upholstery parts cannot be sufficiently disinfected. These should be replaced.

• Under certain circumstances, the surfaces can be affected by disinfectants. Longer-term restrictions of the functionality can be the result.

Please note our enclosed overview of the most important care, hygiene and maintenance tasks.

8.3. Check before setting off

8.3.1. Checking the brakes

Before each journey, check that the brake system is functioning properly.

When the brakes are applied, the wheelchair cannot be pushed away on a dry surface. When the brakes are released, the wheelchair moves without grinding noises and with good directional stability.

If this behaviour does not apply, inform your specialist dealer immediately and remove the wheelchair from service until it has been repaired!

8.3.2. Checking the tyres

Before each journey, check the tyres for integrity and correct air pressure (see chapter 4.8.2).

8.3.3. Maintenance note

We recommend that the wheelchair is inspected by a specialist dealer at least once a year.

In the event of faults or defects on the wheelchair, it must be handed

8.3.4. Maintenance advice for the trade

Maintenance must be carried out in accordance with the Bischoff &

Bischoff maintenance plan. A maintenance schedule will be provided upon request. A training programme for the specialised trade is also available.

9. Adjustment work for the trade

The settings explained in this chapter affect safety-relevant criteria of your product and may therefore only be carried out by trained specialist personnel.


9.1. Centre of gravity, seat angle and Seat height

9.1.1. Adjusting the drive wheel

• The position of the drive wheel influences the driving behaviour of your wheel chair.

• Change the position of the drive wheel:

• Vertical: Adjusting the seat height and the seat angle (Fig. 37).

• Horizontal: Adjustment of the centre of gravity position (Fig. 38).

Adjustments to the drive wheels may increase the risk of tipping over.

Use the anti-tip castors for safety!

By changing the seat angle, there is a risk of tipping over and thus an increased risk of injury.

9.1.2. Height of the front wheel

• After you have adjusted the rear wheel position, now check the position of the steering wheels and adjust them if necessary.

• Loosen the axle and remove it completely (Fig. 39).

• Position the steering wheel for the desired seat height.

• Put the axle back into the caster fork and tighten it.

• Set the steering axle perpendicular to the ground to achieve straight running and safe driving behaviour (see chapter 9.1.3).

9.1.3. Angle of the steering axle

By changing the drive wheel position or that of the front wheel, the angle of the steering axle can also change. However, this must always be at a right angle (90°) to the ground (Fig. 40).

• Release the castor bushing lock by loosening the two screws on the outside (Fig. 40). Fine adjustment and fixing in the specified position is done by the pin screws inside the castor bushing.

• Move the front wheel to the desired position and then tighten the fastening screws.

Further details can be found in the assembly instructions.

9.1.4. Wheelbase

Extending the wheelbase improves the stability and sturdiness of the wheelchair. Reducing the wheelbase, on the other hand, improves manoeuvrability. Reducing the wheelbase is only recommended for experienced drivers.

If the wheelbase is changed, subsequent adjustment of the knee lever brake is absolutely necessary!

9.2. Adjusting the locking brakes



If the brakes only work insufficiently or unevenly, contact your specialist dealer. He will check the brakes as follows:

• If there is uneven wear of the tyre tread, or if the tread is no longer visible, change the tyre.


• If the profile is no longer visible on the brake pin, change the brake pin.

• Move the brake system into position that provides safe braking in all driving situations and is operable.

• To adjust the distance, loosen the two hexagon socket screws on the brake bracket (Fig. 41).

• Then slide the brake system along the bracket into the correct position.

• Tighten the two screws again.

• Check that the brake fully engages when the lever is operated and does not snap back.

• Then tighten the screws again and carry out a brake test!

Check that both drive wheels have an air pressure of 7,5 bar.

9.3. Adjusting the drum board



To achieve an optimal braking effect, the braking force is adjusted at the adjusting screw. The braking force is increased by unscrewing the adjusting screw and decreased by screwing it in (Fig. 42).

• Please turn out the adjusting screw until you hear grinding noises on the turning wheel.

• Then turn the adjusting screw in until the grinding of the wheel disappear. The wheel then runs freely.

• After finishing the adjustment, fix the adjusting screw by tightening the lock nut.

9.4. Adjusting the anti-tip rollers

Anti-tip castors prevent the wheelchair from tipping over backwards.

• adjust the distance between the wheel and the ground to approx.

30 - 50mm.

• pull back the disc and move the anti-tip roller along the guide (Fig.

43).

The anti-tip castors are particularly recommended for inexperienced wheelchair users or those with leg amputations.

If the user does not need anti-tip wheels, you can push it into the top position or pull it out completely (see chapter 4.9.2).

For safety reasons, always use the anti-tip rollers in pairs!


9.5. Changing the tyre casing and tyre tube

Regardless of whether you only want to replace the tyre casing or repair/replace the inner tube, in both cases the inner tube must always be removed completely.

You will need the following tools to change the tyre casing or repair the inner tube:

- A small screwdriver

- A commercially available hose repair kit

- 1 set of commercial coat lifters with at least 3 coat lifters.

Disassembly of the jacket:

1. Remove the wheel, see chap. 4.8.1.

2. Place the wheel with the handrim downwards on a non-scratching surface.

3. Release the air from the tyre by pushing down the pin in the centre of the valve with the screwdriver until you hear the air escape.

4. Slide 2 mantle lifters under the bead of the rim with the underside facing upwards, tilt the mantle lifters towards the spokes and thus pull the mantle upwards with both mantle lifters at the same time.

5. Hang the coat lifters in the spokes, see Fig. 47.

7. Then push out the valve. If there is still too much air in the tyre, deflate it as described in section 3.

1. First put one half of the casing over the rim flange on the side opposite the push rim.

2. At the point provided for fitting the valve, press down the casing bead, making sure that the casing remains above the rim around the rest of the wheel. Then insert the valve through the hole provided.

3. Place the casing lifter behind the casing bead and carefully lever the casing over the hose. Be careful not to crush the hose.

1. The undersides of the casing lifters are to be pushed between the casing and the rim with the side facing upwards.

3. Now pull one of the two casing lifters along the rim flange all the way around the tyre, thus placing the casing bead behind the rim flange.

10. Repair

Repairs and maintenance may only be carried out by authorised partners (medical supply stores or specialist dealers). Please contact our customer service by telephone to find a partner near you.

11. Transport

11.1. Transport of the wheelchair

Your wheelchair should only be transported when folded (Fig. 69).

To make the wheelchair suitable for transport in a vehicle or aircraft as manageable as possible, remove all detachable parts (leg supports, drive wheels, armrests, plug-in accessories) and fold the wheelchair (see chapter 4.1).

When folding, take care not to trap any limbs.

When folded, the wheelchair should be secured to fixed frame parts in the vehicle.

11.2. Carriage in motor vehicles

You can tell that your wheelchair is not approved as a seat in motor vehicles for the transport of mobility-impaired persons (KMP) by the symbol on the type plate (Fig. 69):

The wheelchair is not crash tested and must therefore never be used as a seat in a KMP. There is a danger to life!

On request, the necessary information and documents for repair and maintenance are made available to the specialist dealer. A training programme for the specialist trade is available.

Repair and adjustment work requires special technical training and may therefore only be carried out by specialist dealers authorised by Bischoff &

Bischoff GmbH.


14. Passing on the wheelchair

The wheelchair is suitable for reuse. Before it is passed on to another user, it must be serviced and hygienically prepared by a specialist dealer. When passing on the wheelchair, please remember to give this user manual and the address of your specialist dealer to the new user.

The wheelchair must be checked according to the maintenance schedule and be in perfect working order.

15. Storage / Shipping

If the wheelchair is to be stored or shipped, all insertable and unattached parts, except the drive wheels, must be removed and packed individually in suitable cardboard boxes. The individually packed parts can then be packed together in a larger carton. It is recommended to keep the original packaging and store it for these purposes so that it is available in case of need. Then your wheelchair is optimally protected against environmental influences during storage or transport.

For the storage of your wheelchair, please observe the information in the technical data.

To avoid mould and damage to the upholstered parts, the storage location should be as dry as possible and not exposed to direct sunlight.

16. Disposal

If your wheelchair is no longer used and is to be disposed of, contact your specialist dealer.

If you want to dispose of the waste yourself, ask local recycling companies about the regulations in your area.

17. Warranty

1. For products supplied by Bischoff & Bischoff, the period of warranty is 24 months from purchase date. The products are delivered free from production and material defects. In case of evidence of material or manufacturing defect, defective parts will be replaced free of charge.

2. This warranty excludes claims, if a repair or replacement of a product or a part is required for the following reasons: a) normal wear and tear, which include but is not limited to the following parts where fitted; Batteries, motor brushes, handles, armrests, upholstery, tyres, brakes, caps, etc.

b) overloading the product such as, for example, by exceeding the maximum user weight or load.

c) the product or part has not been maintained or serviced in accordance with the Instruction manual, the care and hygiene instructions or the manufacturer’s recommendations as shown in the maintenance instructions.

d) Accessories have been used which are not original accessories.

e) The product or part has been damaged through negligence, accident or incorrect use.

f) changes/modifications have been made to the product or parts, which deviate from the manufacturer’s specifications.

g) Repairs have been carried out, before our customer service has been informed of the circumstances.


3. To enforce the warranty, please contact your dealer with the exact details of the nature of the difficulty. The product must be repaired by a dealer authorised by Bischoff & Bischoff.

4. For parts, which have been repaired or exchanged within the scope of the warranty, the warranty will be extended to the remaining warranty period for the product in accordance with point 1).

5. For original spare parts which have been fitted at the customer’s expense, these will have a 12 months guarantee, following the fitting.

6. If the repair fails after a reasonable time, the customer can, at his discretion, request a reduction, compensation or the termination of the purchase contract.

7. The guarantee is subject to the law of the country in which the product was purchased from Bischoff & Bischoff & Bischoff.

Please also observe the Bischoff & Bischoff care, warranty, hygiene and maintenance instructions. Your dealer will be happy to provide these to you.

For replacement devices and repairs, the warranty period is one year.

2. Instrucciones importantes de seguridad

2.1. Información general de seguridad

• Para evitar caídas y situaciones peligrosas, practique primero el uso de su nueva silla de ruedas en terrenos llanos y manejables. Se recomienda ir acompañado.

• Antes de utilizar la silla de ruedas, compruebe que todas las piezas fijadas estén bien sujetas.

• Levante la silla de ruedas únicamente por las piezas montadas firmemente (véase el capítulo 5.3).

• Asegúrese de que los ejes de liberación rápida estén correctamente asentados en los soportes de los ejes, de lo contrario existe riesgo de lesiones.

• Al cambiar el equilibrio debido a los movimientos del cuerpo o al cargar la silla de ruedas, aumenta el riesgo de vuelco hacia todos los lados.

• No utilice la silla de ruedas para transportar más de una persona o carga. Respete el uso previsto (véase el capítulo 2.6).

• Al ajustar la silla de ruedas, existe el riesgo de que queden atrapadas partes del cuerpo.

• Mantenga la ropa y otras partes del cuerpo alejadas de los espacios entre las piezas en movimiento.

• Al salvar obstáculos (escalones, etc.), haga que le acompañe un ayudante. Utilice el dispositivo antivuelco (véase el capítulo 4.9.1).

• Suba escaleras y obstáculos mayores sólo con la ayuda de al menos dos acompañantes (véase el capítulo 5.3). Utilice instalaciones como rampas, ascensores o dispositivos de ayuda para subir escaleras si están disponibles (Fig. A).

• No conduzca por un bordillo u otros escalones (Fig. B).

• Al circular por una pendiente/pendiente, tenga en cuenta que existe peligro de vuelco a partir de unos pocos grados. Se recomienda utilizar rodillos antivuelco (véase el cap. 4.9.2) (Fig. C).

• Evita cualquier tipo de colisión.


• Circule únicamente por terreno llano y firme.

• Al subir o bajar de la silla de ruedas, accione ambos frenos de estacionamiento (véase el capítulo 4.7).

• Respete las normas de circulación en carretera.

• Comprueba la iluminación pasiva (reflectores) de tu silla de ruedas antes de cada viaje para asegurarte de que está intacta y es visible para los demás usuarios de la carretera.

• • Utilice el freno de estacionamiento sólo para aparcar.

• Los materiales del asiento son resistentes a la inflamabilidad según la norma EN 1021-2. No obstante, mantenga alejados de su producto los cigarrillos y otras posibles fuentes de incendio.

• Proteja la silla de la luz solar para evitar quemaduras por el calentamiento de los componentes.

• Protege la silla de ruedas del frío.

• Al pasar de la silla de ruedas a la cama (véanse los capítulos 5.1 y

5.2), siempre

• Accione ambos frenos de estacionamiento.

• Si es posible, gire hacia atrás la parte lateral del lado de entrada/ salida.

• girar las placas de los pies hacia arriba o hacia fuera.

• Notificación de incidentes.

• Si usted, como operador, usuario o sus familiares, descubre posibles defectos o limitaciones funcionales,

• póngase inmediatamente en contacto con un dea- rtista especializado autorizado. Los operadores, usuarios o sus familiares deben informar al distribuidor especializado que les suministró el producto de cualquier sospecha de incidente grave que haya tenido o pueda haber tenido, directa o indirectamente, alguna de las siguientes consecuencias y que les afecte. También pueden comunicarlo a la autoridad federal competente.

• la muerte de un paciente, usuario u otra persona,

• el deterioro grave, temporal o permanente, del estado de salud de un paciente, usuario u otra persona,

• una grave amenaza para la salud pública.

2.2. Riesgo de vuelco

Si tiene instaladas ruedas antivuelco en ambos lados (consulte el capí-

tulo 4.9.2), éstas evitarán en gran medida que la silla de ruedas vuel-

que hacia atrás. Sin embargo, tenga en cuenta que la conducción con ruedas antivuelco solo es posible de forma limitada en terrenos con diferentes niveles, plataformas elevadoras y rampas. Asegúrese de que haya suficiente espacio en la parte superior, inferior y en los laterales.

2.3. Seguridad en vehículos

La silla de ruedas BX 11 / BX 11 S no está diseñada para utilizarse como asiento en un vehículo. En ningún caso debe utilizarse como tal.

El producto no cumple con los requisitos de la norma ISO 7176-19. La infracción de dicha regla en caso de accidente puede causar las lesiones más graves e incluso la muerte (Fig. D).

2.4. Participación en el tráfico por carretera

La silla de ruedas está diseñada para su uso en interiores y exteriores.

Tenga en cuenta que está participando en el tráfico rodado público y que debe cumplir las normas de la Ley de tráfico rodado. No ponga en peligro a otros participantes conduciendo de forma temeraria, especialmente en las aceras.


2.5. Frenos

Freno de servicio:

Cuando conduzca, frene la silla utilizando los reposamanos. Tenga en cuenta que sus manos pueden calentarse.

Freno de estacionamiento/parking:

En cuanto la silla esté parada, empuje ambas palancas de freno hacia delante.

La silla de ruedas está frenada de forma segura si no y las dos palancas de freno están empujadas hasta el tope. Tire de la palanca hacia atrás para soltar el freno (consulte el capítulo 4.7.1).

Freno de tambor:

La silla de ruedas puede equiparse opcionalmente con un freno de tambor que sólo puede ser accionado por un asistente a través de las palancas de freno de los mangos de empuje.

2.6. Uso previsto

La silla de ruedas solo está diseñada para aumentar la movilidad y transportar a quienes tienen dificultades para caminar con las indica-

ciones especificadas (consulte el capítulo 2.6).

La carga máxima es de 135 kg.

Tenga en cuenta:

Solo podemos ofrecer una garantía si el producto se utiliza en las condiciones especificadas y para los fines previstos.

2.7. Indicaciones

El suministro de una silla de ruedas está destinado a adultos que no pueden caminar o que tienen una movilidad muy reducida, por ejemplo:

• Parálisis

• Pérdida de extremidades

• Defectos/deformidades de las extremidades

• Contracciones articulares (no en ambos brazos)

• Daños en las articulaciones (no en ambos brazos)

• Otras enfermedades

2.8. Contraindicaciones

El suministro de esta silla de ruedas no es adecuado para adultos con:

• Incapacidad para sentarse

• Daños articulares/contracciones en ambos brazos

• Trastornos perceptuales

• trastornos graves del equilibrio

• visión reducida e insuficiente

• graves limitaciones de la capacidad cognitiva

2.9. Declaración de conformidad

Nosotros, Bischoff & Bischoff GmbH, declaramos bajo responsabilidad exclusiva, que las sillas de ruedas BX 11 / BX 11 S cumplen con todos los requisitos del MDR 2017/745, que corresponden.


2.10. Responsabilidad

Solo podemos ofrecer una garantía si el producto se

• utiliza en las condiciones especificadas y para los fines previstos,

• Las modificaciones, mejoras, reparaciones y trabajos de mantenimiento se llevarán a cabo únicamente por aquellas personas autorizadas por nosotros, y si las modificaciones o mejoras tienen previa aprobación de Bischoff & Bischoff y

• la silla de ruedas se utiliza de acuerdo con las instrucciones de uso.

2.11. Vida útil

La vida útil esperada del producto es de hasta 5 años. Los requisitos para ello son el uso adecuado y el cumplimiento de las indicaciones de seguridad, cuidado y mantenimiento de acuerdo con este manual de usuario.

3. Resumen del producto y de entrega

3.1. Comprobación de la entrega

Todos los productos Bischoff & Bischoff GmbH se someten a una inspección final adecuada en nuestra fábrica, donde se les coloca el mar-

cado CE (véase el capítulo 3.3).

La silla de ruedas se entregará en una caja de cartón especial. Después de desembalar, conserve la caja de cartón, si es posible. Puede utilizarse para un posible almacenamiento o devolución posterior del producto.

La entrega y la iniciación suelen correr a cargo de un distribuidor de equipos médicos cualificado.

En caso de envío por tren o compañía naviera, la mercancía debe revisarse inmediatamente en presencia del transportista para comprobar si ha sufrido daños durante el traslado.

Compruebe que el contenido está completo e intacto (véase el capítulo

3.2). En caso de anomalías o daños, póngase en contacto con nuestro

servicio de atención al cliente, Tel.: +49 (0)700/6000 7070.

3.2. Alcance de la entrega

Para evitar daños en el transporte, los accesorios enchufables se entregan por separado con el producto.

Inmediatamente después de recibir el producto, compruebe que el contenido esté completo. El contenido consiste en:

• Embalaje externo,

• Silla de ruedas (premontada),

• Cojín del respaldo

• 2 reposapiernas (para BX 11 S)

• este manual de instrucciones

• cualquier accesorio necesario

4. Montaje/Ajustes

4.1. Plegado y desplegado

Su nueva silla de ruedas Bischoff & Bischoff se entregará en una caja de cartón original de Bischoff & Bischoff, montada y plegada.

Para evitar daños en el transporte, los accesorios enchufables se entregan por separado con el producto.

Desplegado

• Coloque la silla de ruedas plegable a su lado. (Fig. 04)

• Incline la silla de ruedas hacia adelante, hasta que el peso esté fuera de una de las ruedas traseras.

• Separe los tubos del asiento y empújelos hacia abajo con la palma de la mano, hasta que encajen en el soporte del cuadro (Fig. 05).

• Empuje la(s) base(s) del reposapiés hacia abajo (Fig. 05).

Plegado

• Coloque la silla de ruedas plegable a su lado.

• Gire la(s) base(s) del reposapiés hacia arriba (Fig. 06, Fig. 12).

• Desabroche el velcro del tapizado del respaldo (debajo del asiento).

• Si utiliza un cojín de asiento, retírelo, empuje el tapizado del asiento hacia arriba y junte los reposabrazos hasta donde sea posible

(Fig. 07).

4.2. Reposapiés

4.2.1. Placa/base de reposapiés abatible

La BX 11 está equipada con una placa/base de reposapiés entero y abatible (Fig. 08).

Se puede girar hacia un lado, ajustar el ángulo y adaptarlo a la longitud de la pierna del usuario.

Subir y bajar la(s) placas(s)/base(s) del reposapiés

• Sujete por debajo de la(s) placa(s)/base(s) del reposapiés y hágalas girar hacia un lado (Fig. 09).

• Cuando esté sentado en la silla de ruedas, vuelva a bajarlo A continuación, presione hacia abajo hasta que oiga cómo encaja.

Ajuste de la longitud del reposapiés

El reposapiés puede ajustarse a la longitud de la pierna inferior en 8 posiciones con pasos de a 15 mm.

• Para ello, retire los dos tornillos de fijación del tubo del reposapiernas (interior y exterior) y ajuste a la longitud deseada (Fig. 10).

• Vuelva a ajustar los tornillos.

Ajuste del ángulo del reposapiés

El ángulo del reposapiés se puede ajustar (Fig. 11):

• Desenrosque el tornillo del soporte.

• Gire la rueda dentada para ajustar el ángulo del reposapiés a la posición deseada

• Vuelva a ajustar el tornillo.

•

Antes de conducir, asegúrese de que los reposapiés estén bien colocados.

4.2.2. Reposapiés abatibles

La BX 11 S está equipada con reposapiés extraíbles (Fig. 12).

Los reposapiés se pueden girar por separado hacia un lado, ajustar el

ángulo y adaptarse a la longitud de la pierna del usuario. Puede retirar los reposapiés, girarlos y volver a colocarlos sin necesidad de utilizar herramientas.

Fijación de los reposapiés

• Sujete la parte superior del reposapiés de forma que apunte hacia fuera.

• Introduzca el reposapiés en el orificio del cuadro utilizando el perfil guía (Fig. 13).

• Gire el reposapiés hacia delante hasta que oiga que encaja claramente en su sitio (Fig. 13)

• Si es necesario, baje el reposapiés.

Gire los reposapiés y retírelos

Para facilitar la transferencia hacia y desde su silla de ruedas plegable, puede girar los reposapiés hacia dentro o hacia fuera, sin tener que quitarlos.

• Si es necesario, levante el reposapiés.

• Tire del asa hacia arriba (Fig. 14) y gire el reposapiés hacia fuera

(Fig. 15).

• En la posición exterior, el reposapiés puede extraerse tirando de él hacia arriba (Fig. 15).

Antes de emprender viaje, coloque los reposapiés como se ha descrito anteriormente.

Nunca se ponga de pie sobre el reposapiés.

Antes de conducir, asegúrese de que los reposapiés estén bien colocados.


Ajuste de la longitud del reposapiés

Los reposapiés pueden ajustarse a la longitud de la pierna inferior en 5 posiciones con pasos de 20 mm.

• Para ello, retire los dos tornillos de fijación del tubo del reposapiés

(interior y exterior) y ajústelo a la longitud deseada (Fig. 16).

• Vuelva a ajustar los tornillos.

Reposapiés de ángulo ajustable

El ángulo de los reposapiés puede ajustarse (Fig. 17).

• Desenrosque el tornillo del soporte.

• Gire la rueda dentada para ajustar el reposapiés a la posición deseada.

• Vuelva a ajustar el tornillo.

4.2.3. Reposapiés ajustables horizontalmente (opcional)

Se montan, se desmontan y se abren como los reposapiés estándar.

Para ajustarlo, suelte la palanca de sujeción, luego ajuste el reposapiés a la longitud deseada y finalmente apriete la palanca de sujeción

El ajuste horizontal funciona de la siguiente manera:

• Empuje la palanca de bloqueo hacia delante.

• Levantando o bajando el tubo receptor del reposapiés se puede colocar en la posición deseada.

• Suelte la palanca de bloqueo; el reposapiés se bloquea automáticamente.

No se pongas nunca de pie sobre el reposapiés y, cuando gire para abrirlo, tenga cuidado con los dedos, ya que existe el riesgo de pellizcarse

Para cambiar de asiento, el reposapiés debe girarse o retirarse. Nunca se siente en el reposapiés. Riesgo de volcar.

4.2.4. Reposapiernas para amputados (opcional)

Se montan, se desmontan y se giran como los reposapiés estándar, el ajuste y el ajuste horizontal funcionan como para los reposapiés de ajuste horizontal.

4.3. Protectores laterales

4.3.1. Protector lateral activo

La silla de ruedas está equipada de serie con un protector de ropa de aluminio (Fig. 18). Se fija al chasis desde la parte delantera y trasera.

La altura del protector de la ropa debe ajustarse si se modifica la posición del asiento o el tamaño de los neumáticos.

4.3.2. Protectores laterales ajustables en altura con reposabrazos

(opcional)

Altura del reposabrazos

• Presione el botón situado en el extremo inferior del tubo y ajuste el reposabrazos a la altura deseada (Fig.19).


• Suelte el botón pulsador para que el reposabrazos se bloquee en la siguiente posición posible.

Desmontaje de los paneles laterales

• Presione el botón situado en el extremo inferior del tubo y extraiga completamente la sección de la cerradura.

Para montarlo, introduzca la pieza lateral en la cerradura y ajuste el reposabrazos a la altura deseada. La pieza lateral debe encajar de forma audible.

4.4. Ángulo del respaldo

4.4.1. Respaldo (estándar)

El respaldo de su silla de ruedas no se puede ajustar. El ángulo del respaldo es de 90° con respecto a la superficie del asiento.

4.4.2. Respaldo ajustable en ángulo

(opcional)

El respaldo opcional de la silla de ruedas puede ajustarse en ángulo

(Fig. 20).

El distribuidor puede ajustar el respaldo siguiendo las instrucciones de montaje.

4.5. Altura de las empuñaduras de empuje

4.5.1. Empuñaduras de empuje (estándar)

Las empuñaduras de empuje pueden colocarse en una posición cómoda para el acompañante. A continuación, ajuste la altura del respaldo y la holgura/tensión del mismo.

El distribuidor puede utilizar las instrucciones de montaje para dirigir otras opciones de ajuste.

4.5.2. Empuñaduras de empuje (opcionales)

Las empuñaduras de empuje opcionales pueden adaptarse al tamaño corporal individual del acompañante, independientemente de otros ajustes.

• Libere la traba (Fig. 21).

• Ajuste a una altura cómoda para el acompañante.

• Vuelva a ajustar la traba.

4.6. Asiento y respaldo ajustables

4.6.1. Holgura/tensión del asiento

La superficie de asiento de su silla de ruedas puede volver a tensarse.

Asegúrese siempre de que esté suficientemente tenso. Sin embargo, asegúrese de que haya suficiente holgura en la zona pélvica.

• Si lo tuviese, retire primero el cojín del asiento.

• Separe el velcro bajo la superficie del asiento

• Tire del tapizado del asiento tan fuerte como sea necesario y fíjelo en su lugar utilizando el velcro (Fig. 22).

• Vuelva a colocar el cojín del asiento en la superficie del mismo.


4.6.2. Holgura/tensión del respaldo

Un respaldo bien ajustado le permite sentarse durante largos periodos de tiempo de forma más cómoda y reduce el riesgo de aparición de úlceras por presión. Al hacerlo, asegúrese de que haya suficiente holgura en la zona pélvica.

• En primer lugar, retire completamente el soporte del tapizado del respaldo (Fig. 23).

• Separe el velcro de las correas (Fig. 24).

• Ajuste las correas en secuencia, empezando por la parte inferior

• Vuelva a colocar el respaldo de soporte sobre las correas de tensión.

4.7. Frenos

La silla de ruedas viene equipada de fábrica con frenos de estacionamiento que debe accionar el usuario. Además, puede ampliar el sistema añadiendo un freno de tambor, que se opera por el acompañante.

El distribuidor puede ajustar el freno de tambor siguiendo las instrucciones de montaje.

Para ajustar los frenos, póngase en contacto con su distribuidor. Tenga en cuenta que, si los frenos se ajustan de forma incorrecta, esto puede tener consecuencias mortales.

Los frenos de estacionamiento no deben utilizarse como frenos de funcionamiento, ya que existe riesgo de muerte debido al peligro de caída.

Tenga en cuenta que existe el riesgo de sufrir quemaduras si sus manos se calientan al frenar con los aros de empuje!

4.7.1. Cómo accionar el freno de estacionamiento

El freno de estacionamiento solo debe utilizarse cuando esté parado.

Para reducir la velocidad durante la conducción, solo debe utilizar los aros de mano de las ruedas traseras (Fig. 29) o los frenos de tambor opcionales para el acompañante.

• Al frenar con los aros de mano, mantenga el punto más alto. Primero deje que los aros se deslicen por las manos


• Aumente lentamente la fuerza de frenado ejerciendo una fuerza de retención en los aros con las manos, hasta llegar a una parada brusca.

• En cuanto la silla de ruedas se haya detenido, empuje ambas palancas de freno hacia delante (Fig. 30). La silla de ruedas está bien frenada, si ya no puede empujarse, y las dos palancas de freno se empujan hacia delante hasta la posición de parada.

• Tire de la palanca hacia usted para soltar el freno.

4.7.2. Cómo manejar la extensión de la palanca de freno (opcional)

Como opción, su silla de ruedas puede estar equipada con una extensión de la palanca de freno. La palanca extendida reduce el esfuerzo necesario y, por lo tanto, está especialmente recomendada para personas con fuerza reducida en brazos y manos.

• Detenga la silla de ruedas (consulte el capítulo 4.7).

• Empuje ambas palancas de freno hacia adelante. La silla de ruedas está frenada de forma segura, si ya no se puede empujar y ambas palancas de freno se empujan hacia delante hasta la posición de parada (Fig. 31).

• Tire de la palanca hacia usted para soltar el freno.

Posición de funcionamiento: Extienda la palanca de freno hasta su posición más larga y pliéguela antes de salir (Fig. 32, Fig. 33).

Pliegue la palanca de freno hacia atrás cuando se transfiera a un lado (Fig. 33).

El distribuidor puede ajustar el freno y montar la extensión de la palanca de freno utilizando las instrucciones de montaje.

El freno de estacionamiento -con o sin extensión de la palanca de freno- solo funciona en una rueda trasera, por lo que debe utilizarse siempre en ambos lados.

No utilice nunca la palanca de freno como soporte

-por ejemplo, al trasladarse o ponerse de pie-, ya que de lo contrario existe el riesgo de volcar y caer.

¡La palanca podría romperse!

4.7.3. Freno del acompañante

El freno del acompañante es un freno de tambor que solo debe ser utilizado por un acompañante a través de las manetas de freno situadas en las empuñaduras de empuje; el freno de tambor solo funciona en una rueda trasera a la vez (Fig. 34).

4.8. Ruedas y neumáticos

4.8.1. Eje de desmontaje rápido

La silla de ruedas viene con ejes de desmontaje rápido de fábrica. Por lo tanto, se pueden retirar fácilmente y volver a colocar en las ruedas.

• Presione con los pulgares la traba del eje de cierre rápido para extraer la rueda (Fig. 35).

• Para volver a montarla, basta con colocar la rueda en el receptor. Al hacerlo, empuje el pomo de bloqueo hacia dentro.

El clic que oirá del eje de cierre rápido le indicará que la rueda está bien montada. Tras el montaje, asegúrese de que las ruedas estén bien apretadas.

4.8.2. Ruedas traseras

Compruebe regularmente las ruedas traseras para asegurarse de que haya suficiente presión de aire y banda de rodamiento.


Ajuste la presión de aire de los neumáticos que se indica en la pared del neumático.

4.8.3. Ruedas directrices

Si la rueda trasera o la rueda orientable están desgastadas o defectuosas, pida a su distribuidor que las revise.

4.9. Ruedas antivuelco y soportes pisador

(opcionales)

La combinación de ruedas antivuelco y soportes pisador (Fig. 35) puede utilizarse para lograr una mayor estabilidad en las pendientes.

Además, un asistente puede ayudar a superar obstáculos como, por ejemplo, los bordillos.

4.9.1. Soportes pisador (optionales)

• Los soportes pisador pueden instalarse en uno o en ambos lados.

• Sujete la silla de ruedas firmemente con ambas manos desde las empuñaduras de empuje.

• Ponga un pie en el soporte pisador (Fig. 36) y, al mismo tiempo, empuje la silla de ruedas hacia abajo utilizando las empuñaduras de empuje.

4.9.2. Ruedas antivuelco (opcionales)

Las ruedas antivuelco evitan que la silla de ruedas vuelque hacia atrás.

Las ruedas antivuelco se recomiendan especialmente para los usuarios inexpertos en sillas de ruedas o amputados.

Por razones de seguridad, utilice siempre las ruedas antivuelco como un par.

Para el ajuste, póngase en contacto con su distribuidor

4.10. Cinturón ventra

l

En caso necesario, puede adquirirse como accesorio un cinturón subabdominal. Se coloca en el armazón lateral de la silla de ruedas cuando la sección lateral se retira temporalmente o se abate hacia abajo. Doble el extremo abierto de la correa una vez alrededor del tubo del armazón lateral y fíjelo con la hebilla de la correa.

La longitud del arnés también se ajusta mediante la hebilla del arnés.

Ajuste la longitud del cinturón de modo que quede apretado pero sin oprimir. El cinturón subabdominal debe estar siempre abrochado y cerrado durante la conducción.

4.11. Curvatura

Si su silla de ruedas tiene frenos de tambor, existe la posibilidad de ajustar la curvatura. Cuanto mayor sea la curvatura seleccionada, mayor será la estabilidad al girar y rotar la silla de ruedas.

4.12. Protector de radios (opcional)

El protector de radios se fija a los radios mediante bridas.

4.13. Colocación de un bolso/bolsa

(opcional)

Si quiere acoplar un bolso/bolsa a su silla de ruedas, cuelgue las correas del bolso/ bolsa sobre los tubos traseros de la silla.

Tenga en cuenta que los reflectores no deben estar cubiertos.

Atención: el aumento de la carga en el bolso/bolsa también aumentará el riesgo de que su silla de ruedas vuelque hacia atrás. Recomendamos encarecidamente el uso de ruedas antivuelco.

5. Uso

5.1. Transferencia por un lado

• Asegúrese de que los lados de la silla de ruedas y la superficie actual o futura de asiento estén lo más cerca posible.

• Asegure la silla de ruedas con los frenos de estacionamiento (con-

sulte el capítulo 4.7).

• En caso necesario, gire el reposabrazos hacia atrás o retire el pro-

tector lateral (consulte el capítulo 4.4).

• Levante las dos placas/bases del reposapiés, gire los reposapiés hacia un lado o retírelos o levante el reposapiés individual (consulte el

capítulo 4.2).

• Deslícese hacia el lado, en la otra superficie del asiento. Al hacerlo, siéntese lo más atrás posible.

• Vuelva a colocar los reposapiés en su posición original.

• Si es necesario, vuelva a trabar los protectores laterales.

5.2. Transfererencia por adelante

Nunca se ponga de pie sobre el reposapiés y, cuando lo aleje, existe el Riesgo de volcar.

• Levante las dos placas/bases del reposapiés o desmonte los dos

reposapiés (consulte el capítulo 4.2).

• Asegúrese de que la parte delantera de la silla de ruedas y el asiento actual o futuro estén lo más cerca posible el uno del otro y fije/ aplique los frenos de estacionamiento en ambos lados (consulte el

capítulo 4.8).

• Si se traslada desde otra silla de ruedas o desde un andador de interiores, asegúrelos fijando/aplicando los frenos de estacionamiento.

• Ahora deslícese sobre la superficie del asiento girando su cuerpo.

• A continuación, coloque los reposapiés en la posición inicial.

5.3. Cómo subir o bajar escaleras o un escalón alto

Solo el chasis y las empuñaduras de empuje deben utilizarse como puntos de sujeción.

Los asistentes solo sujetan con las manos las partes del chasis firmemente fijadas. Los puntos de elevación dependen de las características del modelo.

Para subir las escaleras, el asistente trasero tira de la silla de ruedas hacia atrás para subir los escalones sujetándose a las empuñaduras de empuje firmemente fijadas. El asistente de más abajo sujeta los tubos delanteros del chasis y estabiliza la silla de ruedas. Al hacerlo, empuja

Al bajar, el ayudante de más abajo frena la silla presionando la silla de ruedas directamente en los escalones. El ayudante de arriba sujeta la silla de ruedas por las empuñaduras de empuje, la mantiene segura y en la posición correcta. La silla de ruedas debe bajarse escalón por escalón.

Dos asistentes deben ayudar con los obstáculos y las escaleras con más de tres escalones.

5.4. Conducción de la silla de ruedas

• Siéntese en la silla de ruedas Bischoff & Bischoff. Asegúrese de ubicarse lo más atrás posible.

• El movimiento se origina mediante los aros de las ruedas traseras.

Coloque las manos en los aros de manos utilizando los pulgares y los dedos índices doblados (Fig. 39).

• Desde esta posición, empuje la silla de ruedas con ambas manos.

• Giro a la derecha: sujete bien el aro derecho y empuje sólo con el izquierdo

• Giro a la izquierda: empuje en sentido contrario

• Giro sobre la marcha: empuje los aros de mano en direcciones opuestas al mismo tiempo

• Frenado: reduzca la velocidad de las ruedas con las manos.

Realice las primeras pruebas de conducción con cuidado, hasta que se haya acostumbrado a la silla de ruedas y a su manejo. Las sillas de ruedas solo tienen una seguridad limitada contra el vuelco y el deslizamiento. Tenga mucho cuidado al frenar, arrancar o girar en pendientes ascendentes o descendentes. La inclinación desmedida hacia fuera de la silla de ruedas también aumenta el riesgo de vuelco. La protección contra vuelcos reduce este riesgo. Para superar los obstáculos con mayor facilidad, el acompañante puede inclinar la silla de ruedas (consulte

el capítulo 4.10.1).

6. Accesorios

6.1. Reposapiernas ajustable horizontalmente (opcional)

La silla de ruedas BX 11 S dispone de un reposapiernas ajustable horizontalmente.

6.2. Soporte de amputación ajustable (opcional)

También puede acoplarse a la silla de ruedas BX 11 S un soporte ajustable para piernas amputadas.

6.3. Ayuda a la propina

Para facilitar el vuelco de la silla de ruedas, se dispone de un dispositivo antivuelco.

6.4. Rodillos antivuelco

Para evitar que la silla de ruedas vuelque hacia atrás, también es posible equiparla con ruedas antivuelco.

6.5. Respaldo ajustable en ángulo con tubos deslizantes ad- justificables

A petición, la silla de ruedas también puede suministrarse con un ángulo de respaldo ajustable. En este caso, las empuñaduras pueden ajustarse a la altura individual del acompañante, independientemente de otros ajustes.


6.6. Carcasa del neumático

Además de los diferentes tamaños de las ruedas, también es posible elegir una variante diferente para la carcasa de la rueda motriz.

6.7. Freno de tambor

Para los equipos con rueda motriz de 24“, existe la opción de equiparlos con freno de tambor.

6.8. Prolongación de la palanca de freno

También es posible equipar su silla de ruedas con una extensión de la palanca de freno. La prolongación de la palanca reduce la fuerza necesaria, por lo que se recomienda especialmente para personas con

La silla de ruedas no se ha sometido a pruebas de choque y, por lo tanto, no debe utilizarse como asiento en un vehículo KMP bajo ninguna circunstancia. Existe riesgo de muerte.

8. Instrucciones de cuidado para el usuario

8.1. Limpieza y desinfección

• Los materiales del asiento y el respaldo pueden limpiarse con agua caliente utilizando una esponja y/o un cepillo suave. En caso de suciedad persistente, puede añadirse al agua un producto de limpieza comercial.

Tenga en cuenta el resumen adjunto sobre el cuidado, la higiene y los trabajos de mantenimiento

• Las piezas de plástico se limpian mejor con un limpiador de plásticos comercial. Tenga en cuenta la información del producto de limpieza.

• Los revestimientos de plástico son atacados por tensioactivos y disolventes no iónicos, especialmente alcoholes.

• Limpie las partes del armazón de la silla de ruedas con un paño húmedo. En caso de suciedad más intensa, utilice también un producto de limpieza suave.

• Limpie las ruedas con un cepillo húmedo con cerdas de plástico

(¡no utilice un cepillo de alambre!).

• Lave las empuñaduras, las almohadillas de los brazos, el asiento y el respaldo con un detergente suave.

• Las piezas de tapicería pueden lavarse a máquina a 40°C. No secar a máquina, solo a temperatura ambiente.

8.2. Desinfección

La silla de ruedas puede desinfectarse con un desinfectante doméstico.

Utilice desinfectantes en aerosol aprobados o desinfectantes a base de alcohol para frotar (por ejemplo, Bacillol AF o Kohrsolin FF); consulte las recomendaciones del fabricante sobre el tiempo de aplicación y la concentración.

En caso de múltiples usuarios del producto, se prescribe un

(RKI) y la Asociación para la Higiene Aplicada (Association for Applied Hygiene e.V.) (por ejemplo, Bacillol AF o Kohrsolin FF); véanse las recomendaciones del fabricante sobre el tiempo de exposición y la concentración.

Atención: Las piezas dañadas del tapizado no se pueden desinfectar suficientemente. Deben sustituirse.

En determinadas circunstancias, las superficies pueden verse afectadas por los desinfectantes. El resultado pueden ser restricciones a largo plazo de la funcionalidad.

Tenga en cuenta nuestro resumen adjunto de las tareas más importantes de cuidado, higiene y mantenimiento.

8.3. Controles antes de partir

8.3.1. Comprobación de los frenos

Compruebe la funcionalidad del sistema de frenado antes de cada viaje.

Con los frenos fijados/aplicados, la silla de ruedas no se puede empujar en superficies secas. Cuando se sueltan los frenos, la silla de ruedas se desplaza sin ruidos de raspado y con una buena estabilidad direccional.

Si no fuese así, notifique inmediatamente a su distribuidor y deje de utilizar la silla de ruedas hasta que se la revise.


8.3.2. Comprobación de los neumáticos

Antes de salir, compruebe que los neumáticos no estén dañados y que

la presión de aire sea la correcta (consulte el capítulo 4.8.2).

8.3.3. Nota de mantenimiento

Recomendamos que la silla de ruedas sea inspeccionada por un distribuidor especializado al menos una vez al año.

En caso de averías o defectos en la silla de ruedas, ésta deberá entregarse inmediatamente al distribuidor especializado para su reparación.

La reparación y sustitución de piezas corre a cargo del distribuidor especializado.

La información y los documentos necesarios para la reparación y el mantenimiento se pondrán a disposición del distribuidor especializado que los solicite.

Si tiene alguna duda, póngase en contacto con el servicio de atención al cliente de Bischoff & Bischoff.

8.3.4. Consejos de mantenimiento para el comercio

El mantenimiento debe realizarse de acuerdo con el plan de mantenimiento de Bischoff & Bischoff. Si lo solicita, se le facilitará un programa de mantenimiento. También está disponible un programa de formaci-

ón para el comercio especializado.

9. Trabajos de ajuste para el establecimiento minorista especializado

Los trabajos de ajuste descritos en este capítulo afectan a criterios de seguridad de su producto y, por lo tanto, solo deben llevarse a cabo por profesionales capacitados.

9.1. Centro de gravedad, ángulo del asiento y altura del asiento

9.1.1. Ajuste de la rueda trasera

La posición de la rueda trasera afecta al manejo de la silla de ruedas.

Cambio en la posición de la rueda trasera.

• Vertical: Ajuste de la altura y el ángulo del asiento (Fig. 37).

• Horizontal: Ajuste de la posición del centro de gravedad (Fig. 38).

La modificación del reglaje de las ruedas motrices puede aumentar el riesgo de vuelco.

Utilice rodillos antivuelco para mayor seguridad.

Al cambiar el ángulo del asiento, existe el riesgo de volcar y, por lo tanto, un mayor riesgo de lesiones.

9.1.2. Altura de la rueda delantera

Después de ajustar la posición de la rueda trasera, compruebe ahora la posición de las ruedas directrices y ajústela si es necesario.

• Desmonte el eje y retírelo completamente (Fig. 39).

• Coloque la rueda directriz según la altura de asiento requerida.

• Vuelva a colocar el eje en la horquilla de la rueda y ajústelo.


• Ajuste el eje de dirección perpendicularmente al suelo, para lograr la estabilidad direccional y la seguridad en la conducción (consulte

el capítulo 9.1.3).

9.1.3. Ángulo del eje de dirección

Al cambiar la posición de la rueda trasera o delantera, el ángulo del eje de dirección puede cambiar también. Sin embargo, siempre debe estar en ángulo recto (90°) comparado con el suelo (Fig. 40).

• Suelte la traba del zócalo de la rueda y afloje los dos tornillos de la parte exterior (Fig. 40). El ajuste sutil y la fijación en una posición específica se realiza mediante los tornillos prisionero dentro del casquillo de la rueda orientable.

• Coloque la rueda delantera en la posición deseada y vuelva a ajustar los tornillos de fijación.

9.1.4. Distancia entre ejes

La estabilidad y la firmeza de la silla de ruedas se mejoran ampliando la distancia entre los ejes. Por el contrario, si se reduce la distancia entre los ejes, se mejora la maniobrabilidad. La reducción de la distancia entre ejes solo se recomienda a los usuarios experimentados.

9.2. Ajuste de los frenos de estacionamiento

Si los frenos no funcionan correctamente o de manera uniforme, póngase en contacto con su distribuidor. Dicho profesional probará los frenos de la siguiente manera:

• Si hay un desgaste desigual en la banda de rozamiento de los neumáticos, o ésta ya no es visible, sustituya los neumáticos.

• Si la banda de rozamiento no es visible en los pasadores de freno, sustituya los pasadores de freno.

• Para ajustar la separación, afloje los dos tornillos de cabeza hueca del soporte del freno (Fig. 41).

• A continuación, empuje el cuerpo del freno hasta la posición correcta a lo largo del soporte.

• Por último, apriete de nuevo los dos tornillos de cabeza hueca.

Compruebe si los frenos encajan en su sitio al accionar la palanca y si no se rompen.

• A continuación, vuelva a ajustar los tornillos y realice una prueba de frenado.

Asegúrese de que las dos ruedas traseras tengan la misma presión de aire de 7,5 bares.


9.3. Ajuste de los frenos de tambor


Para obtener la mejor efectividad de frenado, ajuste la fuerza de frenado con el tornillo de ajuste. La fuerza de frenado aumentará desenroscando el tornillo de ajuste y se reducirá enroscándolo (Fig. 45).

• Por favor, desenrosque el tornillo de ajuste hasta que oiga un ruido de raspado cuando la rueda está girando.

• A continuación, enrosque el tornillo de ajuste hasta que deje de producirse el ruido de raspado. Entonces, la rueda funcionará libremente.

• Cuando haya terminado de hacer el ajuste, el tornillo de ajuste se fija apretando la tuerca de seguridad.

9.4. Ajuste de las ruedas antivuelco

Las ruedas antivuelco evitan que la silla de ruedas vuelque hacia atrás.

• Ajuste la distancia entre la rueda y el suelo a unos 30 - 50 mm: tire del disco hacia atrás y desplace las ruedas antivuelco a lo largo de la guía (Fig. 46).

Las ruedas antivuelco se recomiendan especialmente para los usuarios inexpertos en sillas de ruedas o amputados.

Si el usuario no necesita ruedas antivuelco, puede empujarlas a la posi-

ción superior o extraerlas completamente (consulte el capítulo 4.10.2).

9.5. Cambio de la carcasa del neumático y de la cámara de aire

Independientemente de si sólo desea sustituir la carcasa del neumático o reparar/sustituir la cámara, en ambos casos la cámara siempre debe desmontarse por completo.

Necesitarás las siguientes herramientas para cambiar la carcasa del neumático o reparar la cámara de aire:

- Un destornillador pequeño

- Un kit de reparación de mangueras disponible en el mercado

- 1 juego de alzapaños comerciales con al menos 3 alzapaños.

Desmontaje de la chaqueta:

1. Desmonte la rueda, véase cap. 4.8.1.

2. Coloque la rueda con el aro hacia abajo sobre una superficie que no raye.

3. Libere el aire del neumático empujando hacia abajo el pasador situado en el centro de la válvula con el destornillador hasta que oiga salir el aire.

4. Deslice 2 elevadores de manto bajo el reborde de la llanta con la parte inferior hacia arriba, incline los elevadores de manto hacia los radios y tire así del manto hacia arriba con ambos elevadores de manto al mismo tiempo.

5. Cuelgue los alzapaños en los radios, véase la fig. 47.


6. Tire de un elevador de carcasa a lo largo de la llanta por todo el neumático.

7. A continuación, extraiga la válvula. Si todavía hay demasiado aire en el neumático, desínflelo como se describe en el apartado 3.

2. En el punto previsto para el montaje de la válvula, presione hacia abajo el talón de la carcasa, asegurándose de que ésta permanezca por encima de la llanta en el resto de la rueda. A continuación, introduzca la válvula por el orificio previsto.

10. Reparaciones

Las reparaciones y los trabajos de mantenimiento sólo deben ser realizados por empresas autorizadas (comercios de suministros médicos o distribuidores). Para encontrar un concesionario en su zona, póngase en contacto con nuestro Servicio de Atención al Cliente.

11. Transporte

11.1. Transporte de la silla de ruedas

Su silla de ruedas sólo debe transportarse plegada (fig. 69).

Para que la silla de ruedas sea lo más manejable posible para su transporte en un vehículo o avión, desmonte todas las piezas desmontables

(reposapiernas, ruedas de accionamiento, reposabrazos, accesorios enchufables) y pliegue la silla de ruedas (véase el capítulo 4.1).

Al plegarlo, tenga cuidado de no aprisionar ninguna rama.

Una vez plegada, la silla de ruedas debe fijarse a las piezas fijas del bastidor del vehículo.

11.2. Transporte en vehículos

El símbolo que aparece en su producto indica que su silla de ruedas no puede utilizarse como asiento en un vehículo para el transporte de personas con movilidad reducida (KMP) (Fig. 70):

12. Información sobre el mantenimiento

Las piezas de desgaste típicas son los frenos y los neumáticos. Por favor, póngase en contacto con su distribuidor para obtener piezas de repuesto.

Le recomendamos que haga que su distribuidor revise su silla de ruedas regularmente.

Si experimenta fallos o defectos, lleve la silla de ruedas a su distribuidor para que la revise inmediatamente.

14. Transmisión de la silla de ruedas a otro usuario

La silla de ruedas está diseñada para volver a utilizarse. Antes de que se la pase a otro usuario, debe revisarla por un distribuidor y se debe limpiar de manera higiénica. Al pasar la silla de ruedas a otro usuario recuerde entregar este manual de usuario y la dirección de su distribuidor al nuevo usuario.

La silla de ruedas debe revisarse de acuerdo con el plan de mantenimiento y estar en perfecto estado de funcionamiento.

15. Almacenamiento/envío

Si la silla de ruedas va a ser almacenada o enviada, todas las piezas insertables y no fijadas, excepto las ruedas motrices, deben desmontarse y embalarse individualmente en cajas de cartón adecuadas. A continuación, las piezas embaladas individualmente pueden embalarse juntas en una caja de cartón más grande. Se recomienda conservar el embalaje original y guardarlo a estos efectos para que sea disponible en caso de necesidad. Así, su silla de ruedas estará protegida de forma óptima contra las influencias ambientales durante el almacenamiento o el transporte.

16. Eliminación

Cuando su silla de ruedas ya no esté en uso y deba eliminarse, póngase en contacto con su distribuidor.

Revise su silla de ruedas regularmente de acuerdo con el plan de mantenimiento.

Si quiere encargarse usted mismo de la eliminación, infórmese de las normas de su zona en las empresas locales de eliminación.

17. Garantía

1. Para los productos suministrados por Bischoff & Bischoff, el periodo de garantía es de 24 meses a partir de la fecha de compra. Los productos se entregan libres de defectos de fabricación y materiales. En caso de evidencia de defectos materiales o de fabricación, las piezas defectuosas serán sustituidas gratuitamente.

2. Esta garantía excluye reclamaciones, si se requiere la reparación o sustitución de un producto o una pieza por las siguientes razones: a) desgaste normal, que incluye pero no se limita a las siguientes piezas, si están instaladas: Baterías, escobillas del motor, empuñaduras, reposabrazos, tapicería, neumáticos, frenos, tapones, etc.

b) sobrecargar el producto como, por ejemplo, superando el peso o la carga máximos del usuario.

c) el producto o la pieza no se ha mantenido o revisado de acuerdo con el manual de instrucciones, las instrucciones de cuidado e higiene o las recomendaciones del fabricante que figuran en las instrucciones de mantenimiento.

d) Se han utilizado accesorios que no son originales.

3. Para hacer valer la garantía, póngase en contacto con su distribuidor con los detalles exactos de la naturaleza de la dificultad. El producto debe ser reparado por un distribuidor autorizado por

Bischoff & Bischoff.

4. En el caso de piezas reparadas o sustituidas en el marco de la garantía, ésta se extenderá al periodo de garantía restante del producto, de conformidad con el punto 1).

5. Las piezas de recambio originales instaladas por cuenta del cliente tendrán una garantía de 12 meses a partir de la instalación.

6. Si la reparación falla después de un plazo razonable, el cliente puede, a su discreción, solicitar una reducción, una compensación o la rescisi-

ón del contrato de compra.

7. La garantía está sujeta a la legislación del país en el que se haya adquirido el producto a Bischoff & Bischoff & Bischoff. Tenga en cuenta también los cuidados de Bischoff & Bischoff, instrucciones de garantía, higiene y mantenimiento. Su distribuidor estará encantado de facilitárselas.

El periodo de garantía para los aparatos de repuesto y las reparaciones es de un año. Tenga en cuenta las instrucciones de cuidado, garantía, higiene y mantenimiento de Bischoff & Bischoff. Su distribuidor se las proporcionará.


El incumplimiento de las indicaciones del manual de instrucciones, así como la no realización de los trabajos de mantenimiento de forma adecuada y, en particular, las modificaciones técnicas y ampliaciones (anexos) sin el consentimiento de

Bischoff & Bischoff GmbH, conllevan la pérdida de la garantía y de la responsabilidad del fabricante.
