SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Be sure to read the instructions in this section carefully before use. Make sure to observe the instructions in this manual as the conventions of safety symbols and messages regarded as very important precautions are included. We also recommend you keep this instruction manual handy for future reference. Safety Symbol and Message Conventions Safety symbols and messages described below are used in this manual to prevent bodily injury and property damage which could result from mishandling. Before operating your product, read this manual first and understand the safety symbols and messages so you are thoroughly aware of the potential safety. Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if mishandled, could result in death or serious personal injury. Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if mishandled, could result in moderate or minor personal injury, and/or property damage. When Installing the Unit Do not expose the unit to rain or an environment where it may be splashed by water or other liquids, as doing so may result in fire or electric shock. Use the unit only with the voltage specified on the unit. Using a voltage higher than that which is specified may result in fire or electric shock. Do not cut, kink, otherwise damage nor modify the power supply cord. In addition, avoid using the power cord in close proximity to heaters, and never place heavy objects -- including the unit itself -- on the power cord, as doing so may result in fire or electric shock. Be sure to replace the unit's terminal cover after connection completion. Because high voltage is applied to the speaker terminals, never touch these terminals to avoid electric shock. Be sure to ground to the safety ground (earth) terminal to avoid electric shock. Never ground to a gas pipe as a catastrophic disaster may result. Avoid installing or mounting the unit in unstable locations, such as on a rickety table or a slanted surface. Doing so may result in the unit falling down, causing personal injury and/or property damage. 3 When the Unit is in Use Should the following irregularity be found during use, immediately switch off the power, disconnect the power supply plug from the AC outlet and contact your nearest ITC dealer. Make no further ttempt to operate the unit in this condition as this may cause fire or electric shock. If you detect smoke or a strange smell coming from the unit. If water or any metallic object gets into the unit If the unit falls, or the unit case breaks If the power supply cord is damaged (exposure of the core, disconnection, etc.) If it is malfunctioning (no tone sounds.) To prevent a fire or electric shock, never open nor remove the unit case as there are high voltage components inside the unit. Refer all servicing to your nearest ITC dealer. Do not place cups, bowls, or other containers of liquid or metallic objects on top of the unit. If they accidentally spill into the unit, this may cause a fire or electric shock. Do not insert nor drop metallic objects or flammable materials in the ventilation slots of the unit's cover, as this may result in fire or electric shock. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS When Installing the Unit Never plug in nor remove the power supply plug with wet hands, as doing so may cause electric shock. When unplugging the power supply cord, be sure to grasp the power supply plug; never pull on the cord itself. Operating the unit with a damaged power supply cord may cause a fire or electric shock. When moving the unit, be sure to remove its power supply cord from the wall outlet. Moving the unit with the power cord connected to the outlet may cause damage to the power cord, resulting in fire or electric shock. When removing the power cord, be sure to hold its plug to pull. Do not block the ventilation slots in the unit's cover. Doing so may cause heat to build up inside the unit and result in fire. Avoid installing the unit in humid or dusty locations, in locations exposed to the direct sunlight, near the heaters, or in locations generating sooty smoke or steam as doing otherwise may result in fire or electric shock. When the Unit is in Use Do not place heavy objects on the unit as this may cause it to fall or break which may result in personal injury and/or property damage. In addition, the object itself may fall off and cause injury and/or damage. Make sure that the volume control is set to minimum position before power is switched on. Loud noise produced at high volume when power is switched on can impair hearing. Do not operate the unit for an extended period of time with the sound distorting. This is an indication of a malfunction, which in turn can cause heat to generate and result in a fire. Contact your ITCdealer as to the cleaning. If dust is allowed to accumulate in the unit over a long period of time, a fire or damage to the unit may result. If dust accumulates on the power supply plug or in the wall AC outlet, a fire may result. Clean it periodically. In addition, insert the plug in the wall outlet securely. Switch off the power, and unplug the power supply plug from the AC outlet for safety purposes when cleaning or leaving the unit unused for 10 days or more. Doing otherwise may cause a fire or electric shock. An all-pole mains switch with a contact separation of at least 3 mm in each pole shall be incorporated in the electrical installation of the building. 4 2.DESCRIPTION 1.The T-8000A remote zone paging microphone work together with T-8000 through universal industrial standard CAT5 cable for zone announcement or communication at a remote and different location from the control center. 2.Each matrix controller T-8000 provides two RJ45 ports for the remote paging microphone. Maximum each system could support two remote zone paging microphone link together with the master 8 zone matrix controller. Extension control keypad shall be used when system zone number is lager than 8. 3.The CAT 5 wiring is not only featured of cost-effective, convenient layout, but also integration of RS 485 communication and audio transmission together. 4.Extra DC 24V power supply is needed to power the remote one paging microphone, a power adaptor is included together within the microphone packaging. 5.Eight zone selector with state indication. 6.Talk and all zone paging swift keys are provided. 7.2 and 4 tones chimes with selector and off switch. 8.Volume controls are provided for chime and microphone. 9.Full indications includes individual zone, all zone, busy, paging, power, output level to provide a direct visualization. 10.Extension control keypad T-8000AE is needed when the system zone is more than 8, a complete connection accessories are provided to ensure a convenient installation. Each extension control keypad zone capacity is eight. 5 3. FRONT AND REAR PANEL FRONT PANEL 1 3 2 54 6 7 8 910 1. GOOSENECK MICROPHONE 2. POWER INDICATOR The LED will be light on blue when power switch is placed at on position, which will be extinguished when power switch is placed at off position. 3. OUTPUT LEVEL METER 5 position LED output level meter to display the output status, green, green, green, amber to red. 4. TALK INDICATOR The LED will be light on blue when talk button is pushed, which will be extinguished when talk button is pushed back. 5. TALK BUTTON After zone selection, announcement could be started when the talk button is pushed and indicator illuminated. Without zone selection, announcement could not be started even the talk button is pushed, this improper operation will come with phenomena of that the talk indicator will be fast-flash extinguished. 6. ALL CALL BUTTON Push the all call button to select all zones. The all call indicator will be extinguished when all call button is pushed while some zone is already been taken, in this case the busy zone indicator will be fast flash to amber while the available zone indicator will be illuminated on blue. All zone indicators will be illuminated on blue when all of the zones are available for paging. Push back on the all call button to terminate the all zone paging, and the all call indicator will be extinguished as fellow. 7. ALL CALL INDICATOR the LED will be light on blue when all call button is pushed, which will be extinguished when the all call button is pushed back. 8. ZONE LABEL The zone label is design to insert customer printed zone guidance. Eight blank labels will be supplied with each paging console. It is designed of length 20mm, width 6mm and distance between 2 label's centers 9mm. 6 NOMENCLATURE AND FUNCTIONS Label insert from here Length :20mm Width :6mm Distance from center to center 9mm 9. ZONE INDICATOR Dual color indicator LED is used to display the zone status. The indicator will be illuminated on blue under paging status and on amber under busy status. 10. ZONE SELECT BUTTON Push the zone select button to start a zone paging, after the button is selected, the zone indicator will be slowly flash as soon as no permission from the matrix, and the indicator will be illuminated on blue after got matrix communication permission which means ready for announcement. The indicator will be illuminated on amber means busy when the zone is already been taken. When the zone indicator is on amber, the zone could not be selected for paging and comes with phenomena that the indicator will be on amber and fast-flash. Push back to terminate the zone selection and the indicator will be extinguished as fellow. 7 4. FRONT AND REAR PANEL REAR PANEL MIC VOL. The paging console is powered from the matrix through CAT5 cable.Power on when power switch is placed at on position, and power off when power switch is placed at off position. 12. DC 24V POWER INPUT. The DC24V extra power supply is needed for the paging console. 13. COMMUNICATION PORT, the communication port is designed by RJ45 port, it is used to communicated with the matrix. 14. MIC VOLUME CONTROL It is used to adjust the microphone output volume, clockwise adjustment to increase the level. 15. CHIME VOLUME CONTROL It is used to adjust the chime volume, clockwise adjustment to increase the level. 16. CHIME SELECTOR. The selector is designed of three options, 2 tone, off and 4 tones, this chime is used to ask listeners' attention before announcement 8 5. CONNECTION AND SETTING 5.1 Onnection between the remote paging console and the extension keypad: The IDE communication cable is used to provide connection between the remote paging console and the extension keypad and between two extension keypads Connection through 10P IDE cable Extension keypad Remote paging Console 5.3 Extension keypad dipswitch setting: There are 4 address codes on both remote paging console and extension keypad, which are used to identify itself. Extension keypad 1 Extension keypad 2 Extension keypad 3 Notice: 1. Only one address code swtich of each dipswitch shall be placed down position , otherwise the system maybe will out of work. 2. Any of the dipswitches shall be set of different addresses, otherwise the system maybe will out of work. 9 6.OPERATION GUIDANCE 6.1 Zone selection 6.1.1 Announcement shall be started after individual zone or all zone selection, the matrix will feedback to the remote paging console's or extension keypad's inquiry, the permission of paging or busy will be displayed as different indicator: blue and amber. 6.1.2 All call will be made to the total 8 zones if it is only for the remote paging console, and all call will be made to all the zones includes the remote paging console's and the extension keypad's when any extension keypad is existed. The remote paging console will automatic detect whether there is any extension module is connected as soon as been powered on so as to identity its according zone. 6.2 Talk 6.2.1 When the talk indicator is illuminated on blue, which means announcement could be started, while the indicator is extinguished, which means announcement is terminated. 6.2.2 Talk button could be enabled only after zone selection. In case of without zone selection, the talk indicator will be fast flash to extinguish if the talk button is pushed. The announcement will be terminated immediately as soon the zone selection is canceled and it comes with the talk indicator extinguished as follow. Two kinds of tone chimes could be as options to ask listener's attention before announcement, the selector is designed of 3 positions:2 tone, off and 4 tone. 6.2.3 The chime will be distributed to the selected zone when talk button is pushed and pushed back on the conditions that chime selector is placed at 2 tone or 4 tone positions. More zone addition during talk will not comes with chime. 6.2.4 It is very convenient for the installer to adjust the mic and chime volume level accordingly to different ambient surroundings. 10 PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM VersionV0.1
