Standard Chartered Security Token User Guide

The Vasco Security Token is a portable physical security device that enables you to login to Straight2Bank Web and authorise your transactions with an added layer of security. The Token provides multi-factor authentication based on something you have (the token itself) and something you know (the PIN code to access the token). It is also extremely portable, allowing for security anytime and anywhere. You can also use this token to perform customer administrator functions, such as editing and creating new users and resetting users with a locked password status.

Frequently asked questions

You will receive two emails from Straight2Bank Web Admin titled “Straight2Bank Web Security Token Activation” and “Shared secret for VASCO token”. The first email will contain an “encrypted string”, and the second email will contain the “shared secret”. You will then login to Straight2Bank Web, enter your Group ID and User ID, and click the ‘Login’ button. On the next screen, click on ‘Initialise PIN’. You will be prompted to enter the ‘Encrypted String’, the ‘Shared Secret’, and then click ‘Submit’. The system will then generate an initial PIN which will be displayed on the screen. To activate your token, press the ‘ON’ button, input the initial PIN, and follow the prompts on the token screen.

After you activate your token, you will need to generate a One-Time Password (OTP) each time you login. Press on the ‘ON’ button, enter your personal security PIN, and then press BUTTON ‘1’ to select OTP generation. The token will then generate the password (OTP) and display it on the token screen. You can then enter the OTP on the Straight2Bank Web login screen and click ‘Proceed’ to login to Straight2Bank Web Home Page.

If you enter your personal PIN incorrectly 5 times, the token will lock. A locked token will constantly display the ‘unlock code’ on its screen. You will need to call your local solution delivery representative to unlock your token. You will then receive two emails from Straight2Bank Web Admin. The first email will contain an ‘encrypted string’, and the second email will contain the ‘shared secret’. You will then need to go to Straight2Bank Web, enter your Group ID and User ID, and click the ‘Submit’ button. The system will prompt you for an OTP. Click on the “Vasco Unlock Token” button. You will then need to enter the ‘Encrypted String’, the ‘Shared Secret’, and the ‘Unlock Code’ (as displayed on the token screen) and click ‘Submit’. The system will then display a PIN to unlock the token. You can then use the PIN to re-activate your token by pressing the ‘ON’ button, entering the PIN, and following the prompts on the token screen.

Press on the ‘ON’ button, enter your numeric personal security PIN, and then press the ‘ON’ button continuously for 5 seconds. The token will prompt you to enter a ‘NEW PIN’. Enter your new numeric PIN, and then the token will display ‘PIN CONF’. Repeat the new PIN to confirm the PIN change. You can then use the new PIN to access and use the token to login to Straight2Bank Web or authorise transactions.

What is the procedure if a token is locked after entering an incorrect PIN multiple times?

If a token is locked due to multiple incorrect PIN entries, one must contact their local solution delivery representative to unlock the token. The user will receive emails containing an encrypted string and a shared secret. Access Straight2Bank Web, enter the Group ID, User ID, the Encrypted String, Shared Secret (PIP), and Unlock Code (displayed on the token screen). After submitting, use the PIN displayed on the screen to reactivate the token and change the PIN.

What is the procedure for managing a low battery warning on the Security Token?

When the 'BATT2' warning starts flashing (indicating approximately 1 week of estimated battery life remaining), the user must fill in the PIP form and send it to the local solution delivery representative to request a new token. The document suggests that the entire token is replaced rather than the battery itself being replaceable by the user.
