Heating pads are intended for personal comfort, including temporary relief of minor aches and pains.

6. This pad is not to be used on or by an invalid, sleeping or unconscious person, or a person with poor blood circulation unless carefully attended.

9. Burns can occur regardless of control setting, check skin under pad frequently.

10. Never use pad without outer cover in place.

11. Do not use in an oxygen-enriched environment.

12. Do not use pins or other metallic means to fasten this pad in place.

WARNINGS & CAUTIONS

13. Do not sit on or crush pad – avoid sharp folds.

14. Position pad on top of, and not underneath, the body. Heat level may increase when heat is trapped.

15. Never use pad with liniments, ointments or salves, especially those containing heat-producing ingredients, as skin burns could result.

16. Never pull this pad by the supply cord.

17. Never unplug pad from electrical outlet with a wet hand.

18. If using an extension cord with this pad, the marked electrical rating of the cord set/extension cord should be as great as electrical rating of the pad. Use this pad only on a 120-volt ac electrical outlet. Unplug when not in use.

19. Do not use the cord as a handle.

20. Carefully examine the pad before each use. Discard the pad if it shows any sign of deterioration.

21. Do not bend or pinch the cord and do not use this pad if it has a damaged power cord or plug, if it malfunctions, has been dropped, or is damaged. This pad has no user-serviceable parts. If for any reason this pad does not function satisfactorily, see warranty for service information.

22. Do not tamper with this pad in any way.

23. Loop cord loosely when storing, tight wrapping may damage cord and internal parts.

24. This product is intended solely for non-commercial, non-industrial, personal use. Do not use this product outdoors or for any other purpose.

25. Save these instructions.

POWER / POLARIZED PLUG

This heating pad has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) as a safety feature. This plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way.

If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug.

If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. NEVER

ATTEMPT TO OVERRIDE THIS SAFETY FEATURE.

HOW TO USE YOUR HEATING PAD

Dry heat therapy —such as traditional electric heating pads or saunas—offers a fast solution for therapeutic heat and is easy to use and apply.

ALWAYS USE THE INCLUDED CLOTH COVER WHILE OPERATING THIS HEAT-

ING PAD. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY INCLUDING

BURNS. Read the WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS section of this manual before use and always use common sense care when operating any electrical device.

1. Insert the PVC pad fully into the cloth cover; the cord and control should extend fully outside of the cover.

2. Take care that the pad is flat and not folded or bunched within the cover.

3. Plug the product into a standard 120-volt AC electrical outlet.

4. Position the heating pad for desired treatment.

The pad should always be positioned on top of—NOT UNDERNEATH—the treatment site as the temperature can increase to uncomfortable levels when the heat is trapped.

5. Use the controller to set the desired temperature level. Press the button to scroll through the heat settings; the corresponding light will illuminate for each level.

6. Closely monitor your comfort level during use and adjust the heat intensity level as needed.

7. The heating pad will turn off after approximately 2 hours. Always unplug the device when not in use.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

DISCONNECT THE HEATING PAD FROM THE ELECTRICAL OUTLET AF-

TER USE AND BEFORE CLEANING.

Remove the pad and sponge from the outer fabric cover before cleaning.

• VINYL PAD —The vinyl pad may be wiped down as needed but should not be immersed in water

• OUTER FABRIC COVER —Machine or hand wash the outer fabric cover using a mild detergent, a gentle/delicate cycle, with cool water only. To dry, hang the outer cover or lay it flat. Do not machine dry.

Store the pad, sponge, and outer cover in a cool, dry location after each use. Do not reassemble the cover and pad until completely dry.

When storing, avoid sharply folding the pad as over time cracks may occur in the vinyl.

When should a heating pad be used?

Heating pads as recommended by a health care professional can be used for heat therapy or as desired for personal comfort.

How does heat therapy help?

Heat therapy enlarges the blood vessels of muscles, increasing the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the muscles. This therapy helps relieve painful discomfort, decreases muscle stiffness and increases flexibility.

Why did my heating pad stop working or cool down?

For safety purposes, this device will automatically shut-off after 2 hours.

What temperature does this product reach?

This heating pad is designed to reach the highest temperature limit allowed by

Underwriters Laboratories, 176°F (80°C) when set on the highest setting.

How much time does it take to warm up to full heat strength at each temperature level?

Warm (Green Indicator Light) — 10 minutes

Low (Amber/Yellow Indicator Light) — 10 minutes

Med (Orange Indicator Light) — 12 minutes

Hi (Red Indicator Light) — 15 minutes

3-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

The warrantor guarantees that its Heating Pad will be free from manufacturing defects under normal use for a period of three-years. This warranty covers only normal use, and does not apply to use in any clinical or commercial applications. This warranty is voided if the unit is misused or abused in any manner.

If the Heating Pad fails to conform to this limited warranty, return the Heating Pad postage prepaid to: Attn: Repair Department, 1175 Lakeside Drive, Gurnee,

IL, 60031. When returning a product, please also include: (i) a copy of your receipt, bill of sale or other comparable proof of purchase; (ii) a written description of the problem; and (iii) your name, address and telephone number. Carefully package the product to avoid any damage that may occur while in transit; shipping insurance with returned receipt is recommended. At our option, the warrantor will repair or replace the unit found to be defective in materials or workmanship under normal consumer usage. The purchaser will be notified of any additional repairs required prior to completing the repair, and will be responsible for parts charges, if any, and repair charges not covered by this limited warranty.

EXCEPT AS PROVIDED FOR IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, ALL EXPRESS AND IMPLIED

13. No se siente ni aplaste la almohadilla. Evite doblarla en forma extrema.

14. Ponga la almohadilla sobre el cuerpo, no debajo del mismo. El nivel de temperatura podría aumentar cuando el calor se acumula.

15. Nunca utilice la almohadilla con linimientos, pomadas o ungüentos, especialmente aquellos que contienen ingredientes que producen calor, ya que podrían producirse quemaduras en la piel.

16. Nunca tire de la almohadilla por el cable de alimentación.

17. Nunca desenchufe la almohadilla del tomacorriente con las manos mojadas.

18. Si utiliza un alargador eléctrico con la almohadilla, el voltaje indicado en el alargador eléctrico/cable debe tener el mismo nivel de voltaje que la almohadilla. Utilice esta almohadilla solamente en tomacorrientes de 120 voltios. Desenchufe la unidad cuando no la esté utilizando.

19. No utilice el cable como mango.

20. Revise la almohadilla con cuidado antes de cada uso. Deseche la almohadilla si muestra alguna señal de deterioro.

21. No doble ni apriete el cable. No utilice la almohadilla si el cable o el enchufe están dañados, si presenta alguna falla, si se la ha caído o si se ha dañado. 22. No realice ningún tipo de modificación en la almohadilla.

23. Enrolle el cable sin apretarlo cuando vaya a guardar la unidad; si lo enrolla muy apretado podría dañar el cable y sus partes internas.

ELECTRICIDAD/ENCHUFE POLARIZADO

Esta almohadilla eléctrica tiene un enchufe polarizado (una pata es más ancha que la otra) como medida de seguridad. Este enchufe polarizado sólo entrará en el tomacorriente de una sola forma.

Si el enchufe no entra completamente en el tomacorriente, delo vuelta. Si el enchufe aún no entra, llame a un electricista capacitado. NUNCA TRATE DE ANULAR ESTA MEDIDA DE SEGURIDAD.

PRECAUCIONES de este manual antes de utilizar este producto y siempre use sentido común al operar cualquier dispositivo eléctrico.

1. Introduzca la almohadilla de PVC completamente dentro de la funda de tela; el cable y el control deben estar completamente fuera de la funda.

2. Asegúrese de que la almohadilla esté plana, no doblada ni amontonada, dentro de la funda.

4. Enchufe el producto en un tomacorriente estándar de

120 volts CA.

5. Ubique la almohadilla eléctrica para llevar a cabo el tratamiento deseado. La almohadilla debe estar siempre encima—NO DEBAJO—del área de tratamiento ya que la temperatura puede alcanzar niveles incómodos cuando el calor se acumula.

6. Use el controlador para fijar el nivel de temperatura deseado. Oprima el botón para visualizar los diferentes niveles de calor; la luz correspondiente se encenderá para cada nivel.

7. Controle atentamente su nivel de comodidad mientras usa el aparato y ajuste el nivel de intensidad de calor según sea necesario.

CUIDADO Y MANTENIMIENTO

DESCONECTE LA ALMOHADILLA ELÉCTRICA DEL TOMACORRIENTE

DESPUÉS DE UTILIZARLA Y ANTES DE LIMPIARLA.

Saque la almohadilla y la esponja de la funda de tela antes de limpiarlas.

• ALMOHADILLA DE VINILO —La almohadilla de vinilo se puede limpiar con un trapo húmedo según sea necesario pero no se debe sumergir en agua

• FUNDA EXTERIOR DE TELA —La funda exterior de tela se puede lavar a mano o en la lavadora con un detergente suave, ciclo suave/delicado y con agua fría solamente. Para secarla, cuélguela o póngala en una superficie plana.

No la seque en la secadora

Guarde la almohadilla, la esponja y la funda en lugar fresco y seco después de cada uso. No introduzca la almohadilla dentro de la funda hasta que esté completamente seca.

Evite doblar la almohadilla en forma pronunciada cuando la vaya a guardar ya que con el tiempo, se pueden producir grietas en el vinilo.

¿Cuándo se debe utilizar una almohadilla eléctrica?

Las almohadillas eléctricas, según las recomiendan los profesionales de la salud, se pueden utilizar para terapia con calor o individualmente para alivio personal.

¿Cómo ayuda la terapia con calor?

La terapia con calor expande los vasos sanguíneos en los músculos aumentando el flujo de oxígeno y nutrientes a los mismos. Esta terapia ayuda a aliviar dolores molestos, disminuye la rigidez muscular y aumenta la flexibilidad.

¿Por qué dejó de funcionar o se enfrió mi almohadilla eléctrica?

Por motivos de seguridad, este aparato se apaga automáticamente después de dos horas.

¿Qué temperatura alcanza este producto?

Esta almohadilla eléctrica está diseñada para alcanzar el nivel más alto de calor permitido por Underwriters Laboratories, es decir 80°C (176°F), cuando se selecciona la temperatura más alta.

¿Cuánto se demora la almohadilla en alcanzar el nivel de calor máximo en cada nivel de temperatura?

Tibio (luz verde) — 10 minutos

Bajo (luz ámbar/amarilla) — 10 minutos

GARANTÍA LIMITADA DE TRES AÑOS

El warrantor garantiza que su Almohadilla Eléctrica estará libre de defectos de producción bajo uso normal por un período de tres-años. Esta garantía cubre solamente uso normal, y no se aplica para utilizar en ningunas aplicaciones clínicas o comerciales. Se anula esta garantía si la unidad se emplea mal o se abusa de cualquier manera.

Si el Pista de Almohadilla Eléctrica no puede ajustarse a esta garantía limitada, vuelva el franqueo del Almohadilla Eléctrica pagado por adelantado a: Attn: Repair Department, 1175 Lakeside Drive, Gurnee, IL, 60031.

Cuando devuelva un producto, por favor incluya además: (i) una copia de su recibo, factura u otro comprobante de compra;

(ii) una descripción por escrito del problema; y (iii) su nombre, dirección y número telefónico. Embale cuidadosamente el producto para evitar daños mientras está en tránsito; se recomienda contratar un seguro de envío con acuse de recibo. Según lo que elija, el warrantor reparará o reemplazará la unidad que se considere defectuosa en materiales o mano de obra bajo el uso normal del consumidor.
