The Agfa ADMIS SR 24 is a universal, easily integrated microfilm scanner for accessing information archived on microfilm.
The digitalisation of microfilm images offers all the benefits of digital image processing and information distribution without dispensing with the advantages of microfilm archiving technology.
The ADMIS SR 24 is designed as a universal microfilm scanner. With its non-reflecting, analogue viewing screen, it has all the requried functionality to meet the needs of today’s microfilm user.
Microfilm is available in various film formats. This requires extreme versatility from the retrieval system.
With its variety of interchangeable film carriers and zoom lenses the ADMIS SR 24 offers a wide range of applications for most microfilm standards. This includes microfiche jackets as well as 16 mm or 35 mm rollfilms either in cartridge or open spool formats.
The output options of the ADMIS SR 24 are variable depending on the individual user requirements:
• Print - via a printer interface to a choice of two powerful laser printers.
• Scan - via a SCSI interface to a PC. This gives the potential to directly fax or email images. Additionally images may be exported to other applications.
Flexibility
Integration
Variability
Interchangeable film carriers for either microfiche or
16 mm and 35 mm rollfilms, as well as a variety of zoom lenses, make the
ADMIS SR 24 extremely flexible.
In combination with the Agfa
Capturing Software - Image
32, the system has additional operating functions for easy processing and distribution of microfilm information, including flexible integration into
DMS environments.
Either using a printer interface and a laser printer to function as a digital reader-printer, or connected to a standard PC via a SCSI interface to operate as an online film scanner, the system offers the user a high level of functionality.
A variety of standard image functions such as Auto
Image Centering, Auto Fit to automatically size the image to fit A4 or Auto Polarity for polarity identification offer a high degree of user comfort. The optionally available Auto Masking feature also offers the possibility of suppressing undesired information.
Different scanning modes can be chosen to achieve the best scanning results even from the most difficult source materials.
In combination with the Agfa Image 32 software, user-friendly digital imaging operating functions are available, as well as a host of image processing features such as black border suppression, skew correction or image despeck. Naturally the software also supports the distribution of information via network, email or fax. The ADMIS SR 24 system is a flexible, versatile and cost-efficient link between analogue and digital information processing.
