BEFORE USE
ABOUT YOUR EPC
The digitally controlled and automatic electric pressure cooker uses advanced
technology so that you and your family can enjoy the benefits of better,
faster, safer and healthier cooking. Your EPC seals in steam to cook faster while
retaining important nutrients for healthier meals. Cooking fast and with less
water saves vital natural resources and energy. The unit features easy controls,
a countdown timer, and a cooking pot large enough for family gatherings. It’s
simple to use and makes meals quick and easy.
Cooking will be done automatically by selecting the different menu choices
on the unit. When the food has completed its cooking cycle, a bell will ring to
indicate the same, followed by the unit automatically switching to keep
warm mode.
Note: The inner pot consists of a non-stick surface. To avoid scratching the
non-stick surface, please use wooden or plastic utensils.
SAVE TIME & POWER
Pressure cooking is an ideal method for making fast, tasty meals! Pressure
cooking allows even the busiest cooks to prepare meals from scratch easily
and best of all, quickly. Your new Electric Pressure cooker can be used to
cook various food items- all in just minutes. It saves you time and energy
consumption by cooking foods fast while retaining valuable nutrients.
PRESERVE NUTRIENTS AND PROMOTE HEALTHY EATING
Cooking inside a pressure- sealed pot produces steam which helps break
down the fibres in food and intensify the flavours of food with marinades or
seasonings you have used. The shortened cook time combined with steam
infused cooking results in higher retention of nutrients when compared too
conventional cooking methods such as boiling, steaming or roasting.
POWER CORD
Note: A power cord with optimum length is provided to reduce the risk of
personal injury that may result from becoming entangled in or tripping over
an extra-long cord.
The use of extension cord is not recommended.
8
SAFETY FEATURES
Your EPC comes with 10 safety features to ensure safe, trouble free and
pleasurable cooking experience for years to come.
SAFETY DEVICES
1 Cover lock microswitch – No pressure is generated inside the EPC if
correct engagement has not happened between the cover and
cooker body.
2 Cover opening pressure release valve- After switching off the EPC, the lid
will not open till the pressure inside the EPC has not reduced.
3 High Pressure Safety Fuse– This is a pressure release device, and it
releases excess steam in case the maximum working pressure is exceeded.
4 Manual Pressure Release valve - No hand scalding during operating the
pressure limiting valve. Be careful to have hands off the exhaust valve
during operation.
5 Anti-block steam release valve - It’s designed to prevent food from
clogging the air vent and ensure smooth steam discharge.
6 Auto Operating Pressure Adjustment - A mechanism is provided at
the bottom of the heating plate. In case the inside pressure reaches
the limit despite all the other devices, the cooking pot will move down
automatically, breaking the seal with the sealing ring, and release the
pressure to maintain the pressure within limit.
7 Dry Heating Protection– This device cuts out the power if the inner
cooker is heated without water, or exceeds the safe temperature. It resets
automatically after the temperature drops.
8 High temperature safety fuse- It cuts out power supply when the inside
temperature rises to the limit value. This fuse works only if the other
temperature control mechanisms have not worked.
9 High Voltage Safety- The product is safe against high voltage spikes.
10 Shock Proof- The product protects you against shocks.

USING THE
ELECTRIC PRESSURE COOKER
BEFORE FIRST USE
1 Remove all packaging materials from the appliance.
2 Take out all the accessories from the inner pot.
3 Clean the parts of the electric pressure cooker thoroughly before using it
for the first time (see chapter ‘Cleaning and Maintenance’).
Note: Make sure all parts are completely dry before you start using the electric
pressure cooker.
PREPARATIONS BEFORE COOKING
Before using the electric pressure
cooker to cook food, you need to
follow below preparations:
1 Hold the lid handle and turn it
clockwise until the top lid cannot
move any more, then lift up the
top lid.
2 Take out the inner pot from the
electric pressure cooker and put
the pre-washed food ingredients
in the inner pot.
3 Wipe the outside of the inner pot
dry, then put the inner pot back
into the electric pressure cooker.
12
4 Place the top lid onto the electric
pressure cooker and turn it
anti-clockwise to close it. Before
closing the cover, ensure the seal
ring has been put into the steel
ring inside the cover, and then
turn the seal ring left-right. Make
sure it stays on the steel ring
uniformly; then hold the cover
handle tight and move to the
limiter; turn the cover counter
clockwise to the engagement
position. When the top lid is
properly closed, you will hear a
“click” sound.
5 Put the pressure limiting valve
on the exhaust tube, turn it and
ensure the sealing and the handle
position is in alignment with the
handle direction, and ensure the
float valve falls.
COOKING FOOD
PLEASE NOTE
• Do not fill the inner pot with less
than 1/3 or more than 2/3 full of food
and liquid.
• For food that expands during cooking,
do not fill the inner pot with more
than ½ full of food and liquid.
6 Attach the condensation
collection attachment into the
space provided for it at the back.
• For rice cooking, follow the water level
indications on the inside of the inner
pot. You may also adjust the water
level for different types of rice and
your own preference. Do not exceed
the maximum quantities indicated on
the inside of the inner pot.
• Before cooking, make sure that the
floater falls down naturally.
1 Follow the steps in “preparations
before cooking”.
PLEASE NOTE
• Make sure the sealing ring is properly
assembled around the inside of the
top lid.
• Make sure the pressure regulator valve
and floating valve are clean and not
blocked.
• Make sure the outside of the inner
pot is dry and clean, and that there
is no foreign residue on the heating
element.
2 Put the plug in the power socket,
then turn the power switch to the
ON position (I).
» The power indicator (Power)
lights up.
3 Turn the control knob clockwise
to choose the desired pressure
keeping time.
» The heating indicator (Heating)
lights up.
» The electric pressure cooker
starts heating and pressurizing.
• Make sure the inner pot is in proper
contact with the heating element.
13
4 When the electric pressure cooker
reaches the working pressure:
» The pressure keeping indicator
(Pressure keeping) lights up.
» The electric pressure cooker
enters pressure keeping mode.
5 When the pressure keeping time
has elapsed, the electric pressure
cooker automatically switches to
keep warm mode.
» The keep warm indicator (Keep
warm) lights up.
6 Turn the pressure regulator to the
vent position (vent).
» The electric pressure cooker
starts releasing pressure.
» The floater drops when the
pressure is released sufficiently.
» To release steam manually, turn
the release valve anticlockwise
90 degree, and lift it.
PLEASE NOTE
• When cooking soup or viscous liquid,
do not release pressure by turning the
pressure regulator to the steam vent
position, otherwise liquid might spurt
from the pressure regulator valve. Wait
until the pressure is naturally released
and the floater has dropped to open
the top lid.
• The pressure keeping timer will start
counting down when the working
pressure has been reached.
• You can use the electric pressure
cooker to bake food such as vegetable,
meat, seafood, chop and lobster
without adding water in the inner pot.
When doing so, make sure to turn
the pressure regulator to the baking
position (bake).
• After the cooking is finished and the
pressure is released, turn the power
switch to the off position “O” and
unplug the electric pressure cooker
to turn off the keep warm function or
when not in use.
TIP
7 Hold the top lid handle and turn
it clockwise until it cannot move
any more, then lift it up.
14
Choose the desired pressure keeping
time according to the time indicated
around the control knob. You can also
adjust the pressure keeping time for
different types of food and your own
preference.
