Please lift with care. • Make sure you have enough space to layout the parts before starting. • Check you have all the components and tools listed on pages 1, 2 and 3. • Do not stand or put weight on the product, this could cause damage. • Remove all fittings from the plastic bags and separate them into their groups. • Assemble the item as close to its final position (in the same room) as possible. • Keep children and animals away from the work area, small parts could choke if swallowed. • Assemble on a soft level surface to avoid damaging the unit or your floor (use opened out unit carton). • Parts of the assembly will be easier with 2 people. • We do not recommend the use of power drill/drivers for inserting screws, as this could damage the unit. Only use hand screwdrivers. • Safety note: It is recommended that this unit is secured to a wall using the overbalance protector kit supplied or, an alternative fixing method of your choice. • Dispose of all packaging carefully and responsibly. Care and maintenance • Only clean using a damp cloth and mild detergent, do no use bleach or abrasive cleaners. • From time to time check that there are no loose screws on this unit. • This product should not be discarded with household waste. Take to your local authority waste disposal centre. Note: Tighten metal dowels up fully against the panel. C Fit 4 hinge plates K onto the divider 3 , making sure that the slot is facing towards the finished front edge. K B A K 10mm K Insert 2 large locking nuts C into the divider .3 . Note: The arrow on the locking nut must point towards the hole in the edge of the panel. A C 3 K Finished front edge A K Tap 2 wooden dowels A into the divider 3 . Note: Wooden dowels must not stick out from the edge by more than 10mm or they may damage other panels. Step 2 Prepare the base C A C Insert 4 large locking nuts C into the base 8 . p C 8 in la ip ch C b d ar o Tap 2 wooden dowels A into the base 8 . e ac rf su Finished front edge A 4 Assembly Instructions Step 3 Fit the base to the divider Push the base 8 onto the divider 3 and secure with 2 screws J . 3 Finished front edge pla in c J 8 hip bo ard sur fac e J Finished front edge Step 4 K Prepare the left side C Screw 4 metal dowels B into the left side 1 . Fit 4 hinge plates K onto the left side 1 , making sure that the slot is facing towards the finished front edge. Insert 2 large locking nuts C into the left side .1 . K Finished front edge B K B K B K B 1 Tap a wooden dowel A into the left side 1 . B These 2 holes are not used 5 C A Assembly Instructions Step 5 B Prepare the right side Screw 3 metal dowels B into the right side 2 . Insert 2 large locking nuts C into the right side 2 . These 2 holes are not used C Fit 4 hinge plates K onto the right side 2 , making sure that the slot is facing towards the finished front edge. Tap a wooden dowel A into the right side 2 . C C A K K B K 2 B B K Finished front edge K Step 6 Fit the right side to the base Push the right side 2 onto the base 8 . 2 3 Use a screwdriver to tighten the 2 large locking nuts C fitted to the base 8 . C A Assembly Instructions Step 10 5 Push the back rail 5 onto the left side 1 . Finished front edge Use a screwdriver to tighten the large locking nut C fitted to the back rail 5 . plain chipboard surface Fit the back rail to the left side Finished front edge 1 Step 11 Fit the left side Push the left side 1 onto the base 8 and plinth 9 , then push the back rail 5 onto the divider 3 . 2 3 5 1 Use a screwdriver to tighten the 4 large locking nuts C fitted to the back rail 5 , base 8 , and plinth 9 . 8 Assembly Instructions Step 12 B B Prepare the top B Screw 6 metal dowels B into the top 7 . B B B 7 Rounded front edge Step 13 Fit the top and plastic nails Push the top 7 onto the assembly. Use a screwdriver to tighten the 6 large locking nuts C fitted to the left side 1 , right side 2 and divider 3 . Tap 2 plastic nails H into the bottom edge of each of the sides 1 and .2 . Tap 1 plastic nail H into the bottom edge of the plinth .9 . 7 2 3 H H 1 9 Rounded front edge H H H 9 Assembly Instructions Step 14 Fit back panels measurement from top corner X to bottom corner X must be a: The equal to the measurement from top corner Y to bottom corner Y a: Square up the unit by making sure that measurement x:x equals y:y. Place the small back 13 and large back 14 , coloured surface facing down, onto the unit as shown. Make sure that the 2 backs are pushed up tight against each other and that they meet in the centre of the divider’s back edge. b: outside edges of the 2 backs. 13 F c: F 14 Note: These can also be round x D E+ F y 13 3 y b: Nail D around the E 14 x Warning: The unit is heavy. Lift with care. Note: Do not nail where the 2 backs meet. c: Push the nail screws .E through the back holders F and tap them down between the small back 13 and large back .14 and into the back edge of the divider 3 . Keep tapping the nail screws E in until the back holders F dig into the small and large back. Stand the unit up for the next step. Note: If ever you need to take the backs off to dismantle the unit, the nail screws can be taken out using a screwdriver. E F 10 Assembly Instructions Step 15 Short Rail Position 1 Fit the hanging rails You can fit the 2 long hanging rails 11 and 2 short hanging rails 12 using any of the 4 positions shown opposite. Note: The rails at position 4 are used for shoe storage. Insert 2 rail holders M for each of the 4 rails and then secure with them with screws G . Push the hanging rails 11 and 12 down into the rail holders M . Long Rail Position 1 Short Rail Position 2 Long Rail Position 2 Short Rail Position 3 Long Rail Position 3 Short Rail Position 4 Long Rail Position 4 x4 x8 G 11 11 M 12 M Assembly Instructions Step 16 Fit the shelves Small shelf Position 1 Insert 4 shelf studs N at position 1 or 2 for the large shelf 4 and the small shelf 6 . Lower the large shelf 4 and the small shelf 6 down onto the shelf studs N . N x4 Small shelf Position 2 Large shelf Position 1 N x4 N x4 Large shelf Position 2 6 N x4 4 Step 17 G G Prepare the 3 doors Push fit 4 hinges L into each of the doors 10 . G L G 10 Secure each hinge with 2 screws G . Note: Before securing with the screws, make sure that the hinges are positioned at 90 degrees with the edge of the door. x3 G G L G G L L 90 L 12 Assembly Instructions Step 18 a: K L A Note: The easiest way to attach each door 10 is to fit the top hinge first, then align and fit the other hinges. onto the front part of the hinge plate K . The recess at the bottom of screw B goes into the slot in the hinge plate. K L Fit doors and handles a: Push the hinge L b: K L B c: d: K K L L B b: Keep the hinge L FLAT against the hinge plate K as you slide it across as far as it will go. Tighten screw A. e: c: The hinge L must be flat against the hinge plate K prior to any adjustment. d: The hinge L must NOT be AT AN ANGLE to the hinge plate K when assembled. This would indicate that H the recess at the bottom of screw B had not located in the slot in the hinge plate and the hinge would not be secure. Remove the hinge from the hinge plate and then re-assemble being careful to follow instructions a-c. e: Attach a handle O to each door 10 using 2 screws I . 13 10 10 O I 10 O O I Assembly Instructions Step 19 Adjust the doors if needed a: a: Before adjusting the doors, use a spirit level to check the base (or top) of the unit is level, front-to-back and side-to-side in the 3 positions shown. Use suitable packing pieces (not supplied) to make the unit level BEFORE making any adjustment to the hinges, as shown. b: A A b: Height adjustment. Loosen screws A on hinge plates and move door up or down as required. Retighten screw A. c: B c: Forward and Back adjustment. Loosen screw B on hinge plate and move door in or out as required. Retighten screw B. d: d: Sideways adjustment. To move door ‘out’ loosen screw C. To move door ‘in’ tighten screw C. C 14 Assembly Instructions Step 20 Wall fixings are not supplied as they will need to suit the wall type. Strap P Washer Strap Screw (not supplied) U N IT Washer F Wall fixing (not supplied) Screw P O To prevent possible overbalancing we recommend that this unit is secured to a suitable wall by fitting of the overbalance protector kit .P to the unit, or an alternative fixing method of your choice. LL WA TO P Fit the overbalance protector kit P Note: Take care when drilling the wall that you do not drill into any pipes, wires etc. If in doubt, consult an expert.
