SEAT

Your seat will ship separate in the box. The straps and buckles are attached and buckled on the bottom of the seat from the factory. Please unbuckle before proceeding.

1. Position the seat inside of the seat climber frame.

2. Wrap the seat strap webbing over the frame from the inside out as shown in

figure 1.

3. Turn the three bar slide slightly sideways and push it through the metal D buckle that is sewn onto the end of the strap (

figure 2).

VIPER ELITE / SPECIALIST

The Viper Elite and Specialist SD have mesh seats with one attachment strap (two buckles total). The straps wrap over the stand tubing and connect under the seat.

180 MAX / ULTIMATE VIPER

On the 180 Max and Ultimate Viper the Surround Seat has three additional snaps. These attach around the perimeter frame and the upright arms to keep the sides of the seat in the correct position.

NOTICE

The seat included with these treestands is removable for storage. DO NOT leave your stand outdoors when it is not being used.

RAPIDCLIMB STIRRUPS

Occasional readjustment might be necessary as your footwear needs change or so that the stirrup will fit between the platform rungs when folding the platform down. To adjust, simply loosen the wing nut and slide the stirrup up or down. It is not necessary to completely remove the nut to adjust the stirrup.

ATTACHMENT TO THE TREE

WARNING

Read and understand the harness usage instructions before attempting to climb! Be sure to maintain full body safety harness attachment to the tree at all times after leaving the ground.

1. Attach the base platform to the tree first. To do this, pull down and hold the QuickDraw cable spring as shown in

figure 3. This will release the locking tab

from the cable, allowing the cable to be pushed past the locking tab. Once the cable has been pushed past the locking tab, you can release the trigger.

2. Push the cable into the stand tubing until the cable stop can be lifted up out of the bracket. The cable should be loose at this point. You can now pull the cable out of the stand.

3. Take one end of the cable around the tree and begin to slide it down into the tubing as shown in

figure 4. Once the cable slides easily into the tubing (it

helps to bend the cable upward while pushing down on it as it is inserted), you are ready to place it in its final position.

4. Pull the cable towards the back of the tree and

“seat” the cable stop against the back of the bracket, as shown in

figure 5. The QuickDraw cable spring will

“lock” into place behind one of the cable stops.

You do not have to hold the QuickDraw trigger to lock the cable in place.

5. Your cable bracket should now look like figure 6.

6. If necessary, go to the other side of the tree and position the other end of the cable by repeating the steps of pulling the QuickDraw cable spring, sliding the cable into the tubing, and assuring that the QuickDraw cable spring has locked into position.

WARNING

It is VERY IMPORTANT to inspect the cable on your climbing treestand to ensure that there is no sign of frayed, damaged or broken strands.

DO NOT

USE THE CABLE IF IT HAS BROKEN OR DAMAGED

METAL STRANDS! Call immediately to order a replacement if this should occur.

WARNING

NEVER release the cable from the platform or seat climber to make adjustments once you are off the ground!

To ensure that your treestand is level at the height at which you will be hunting, observe the relative change in the tree diameter between the base of the tree and the final treestand height. It is very important to adjust the treestand base platform and seat at the base of the tree such that the treestand base platform will be level at the height you hunt. Trees commonly found in swamp or marsh areas have a tendency to swell at their base, and these may require a greater starting angle in order for your treestand to be level - as compared to a normally tapered tree.

7. Repeat Steps 1-6 for the Seat Climber portion of the Treestand.

NOTICE

Based on usual taper - in order to ensure the platform and seat climber are level at hunting height, the front edge of the treestand (the edge away from the tree) should be 4-6 inches higher than the edge against the tree (

see figure 8).

The treestand seat climber attaches above the standing platform and should also have the same basic angle as the platform before you start to climb.

UMBILICAL ROPE

WARNING

The seat climber and platform MUST BE attached to each other with the umbilical rope, as shown in

figure 9 and figure 10 before climbing.

The included umbilical rope attaches the seat climber to the platform. In the event that control of the platform is lost, the platform will only fall the length of the umbilical rope. This should allow you to retrieve the platform and re-seat it onto the tree.

1. Loop the umbilical rope around the platform yoke and push the free end through to make a cinch knot as shown in

figure 9.

2. Bring the rope up and loop it around the seat climber yoke. Attach the clip back to the rope as shown in figure 10.

3. The platform should now be connected to the seat climber. For easier backpacking, unclip the rope and wrap it around the platform yoke.

CLIMBING UP / USE / CLIMBING DOWN

(GROUP A STANDS)

CLIMBING UP WITH YOUR NEW STAND

WARNING

At this point IT IS MANDATORY AND REQUIRED that you attach your safety harness to the safety strap around the tree and remain connected at all times after leaving the ground.

ALWAYS refer to the written safety harness

instructions for proper use of your safety harness.

1. Following the Harness Instructions, attach the harness tether to the safety strap. Loop the strap around the tree to secure it. See

figure 11.

2. Your RapidClimb stirrups and bungee heel cord should be already attached to your treestand. To use, back your heel into the bungee heel cord (

figure 12)

then simply slide your boot under the RapidClimb stirrup. Make sure that your boot is secure under the stirrup as shown in

figure 13.

3. On all models except the 180 Max, hook the black elastic bungee cord around the seat as shown in

figure 14 to keep it secure while you climb.

CAUTION

DO NOT attempt to climb with the platform of this treestand without also using the matching seat climber or climbing aid. NEVER attempt to climb without a seat climber. The seat climber is designed to aid you in the correct operation of the treestand. It is designed to correctly support your weight as you climb.

4. To begin climbing, raise your seat climber up to just below waist height and grasp the upright arms very firmly as shown in

figure 15.

5. With all of your weight back on the padded bar,

or in the seat on the 180

model, disengage the

platform by lifting as shown in

figure 16. Pulling up and

slightly out on the platform while pointing your toes down should disconnect the platform from the tree.

6. Bring the platform up by bending your knees and raising your legs straight up.

Take care not to snag the cable on tree bark or limbs.

7. To re-engage the platform, rotate the platform down until the teeth make contact with front of the tree and then rotate the platform down until the cable makes contact with the back of the tree as shown in

figure 17.

The RapidClimb stirrups are located in such a position that equal distribution of weight will secure the platform to the tree while climbing.

8. Now ease your weight back onto the platform (to ensure that you have not placed it on an unseen knot or limb on the backside of the tree). Once the platform is secure, stand and slide your safety harness tether up the tree.

9. Once the platform is fully supporting your weight you can disengage the seat climber and raise it back up to just below waist height as shown again in

figure 15. Repeat steps 4-9

until you are at your hunting height.

On the 180 Max you must sit in the seat and face the tree to climb. DO NOT sit on the front bar while climbing.

NEVER DISCONNECT FROM YOUR SAFETY HARNESS

OR SAFETY LINE ONCE YOU LEAVE THE GROUND!!

WARNING

ALWAYS position the safety harness to minimize the amount of slack in the safety line.

1. When you get to your hunting height (do not climb higher than 15 feet; it is unnecessary) and you have assured that your treestand is level, position your seat climber slightly below waist level. Slightly lower will be more comfortable but higher makes for less movement when you stand.

2. With your safety harness attached to the tree above the climber, pull your feet, one at a time, from their secured position under the RapidClimb stirrups.

3. Wrap the supplied green tourniquet buckle strap (1” green strap with spring loaded buckle) around the tree and through the seat frame as shown in

figure 18. Securely tighten the strap to prevent the notched teeth area from losing contact with the

tree.

4. Unhook the bungee cord that held the seat back rest secure while you were climbing. Position the seat back rest by wrapping each end of the bungee cord around the climbing cable and hooking the two hooks together as shown in

figure 19 or by

wrapping it around the tree. The bungee cord will prevent the seat backrest from falling forward if you stand up.

5. The treestand seat will provide maximum comfort when the seat pad is near horizontal rather than tipped down in the front.

The seat height can be easily raised (for bow hunting) or lowered (for gun hunting) by adjusting the two piece buckles up or down the webbing.

CAUTION

Both seat sides must be adjusted evenly so the seat is level side to side. Sliding the webbing straps forward or backward on the

Seat height is not adjustable on the Viper Elite.

CLIMBING DOWN

WARNING

NEVER DISCONNECT FROM YOUR SAFETY HARNESS

OR SAFETY LINE ONCE YOU LEAVE THE GROUND!!

1. Reattach your treestand platform to your feet.

Back your heel into the bungee heel cord (

figure 20)

then slide your boot under the RapidClimb stirrup.

Make sure that your boot is secure under the stirrup as shown in

figure 21.

2. Disconnect the elastic cord that has been holding the foam seat in place and fold the seat up. Secure the backrest and seat as shown in

figure 22.

Disconnect and store the strap that has held the seat frame to the tree (

figure 23).

3. Place the seat climber at about knee level, sit on the padded bar (

or in the seat on the 180 model),

and grasp the upright arms as you did when climbing

(see

figure 24).

4. While firmly grasping the seat climber upright arms, disengage the platform by lifting up and tipping the edge closest to the tree downward. Once the platform has been dislodged, you can lower it down

(see

figure 25). Make slow, even movements of 10-12

1. Untie the umbilical rope from the seat climber and wrap it around the platform yolk several times to secure it.

2. Start with the seat climber portion of the stand, set it on its end as shown in figure 26.

3. Take the platform and slide it into the seat climber so that its upright braces and cable bracket are next to the same areas on the seat climber as shown in

figure 27.

4. The teeth area on the platform should come into contact with the “V” brace on the seat climber. From this position, pull the seat backrest through the large gap in the platform as shown in

figure 28.

5. Secure the seat to the stand by running the seat bungee around the frame and clipping it off. (figure 29)

6. The backpack straps will most likely be wedged in behind the seat at this point. Pull them out and around the seat webbing and push the seat as far down in the frame as possible (

see figure 30).

7. Secure the top and platform together with the 1” wide green strap with the spring loaded tourniquet buckle as shown in

figure 31. This will prevent seat the seat and the platform from making noise as you hike to your hunting location.

8. Use the backpack straps to carry the unit on your back, tree teeth down, as shown in figure 32. Pull the loose end of the straps to tighten and pull up on the buckle to release.

There are numerous ways to route the seat and backpack straps when packing - this is only one example! You may find it easier to remove the seat on the Summit 180 Max and Ultimate Viper when backpacking. Your backpack straps are adjustable. Pull down on the free end to tighten and lift up on the buckle to loosen.

If you purchased a Razor SD, you must first position the climbing bar in order to sit on it and climb.

Position the climbing bar so that the keyhole slot in the support strut will fit over the head of the bolt as shown in

figure 33. Now slide both support bars - at

the same time - over the bolts and completely through the keyhole slots as shown in

figure 34. Now pull

down on the climbing bar (as it is already attached the tree) to “seat” the bolts into the back of the support struts (See

figure 35). The climbing bar is now ready

to use.

RAZOR SD / OPENSHOT SD

1. Following the Harness Instructions, attach the harness tether to the safety strap. Loop the strap around the tree to secure it. See

figure 36.

2. Your RapidClimb stirrups and bungee heel cord should be already attached to your treestand. To use, back your heel into the bungee heel cord (

figure 37)

then simply slide your boot under the RapidClimb stirrup. Make sure that your boot is secure under the stirrup as shown in

figure 38.

3. On the Razor, hook the seat back elastic bungee cord around the seat as shown in

figure 39 to keep it

secure while you climb.

4. To begin climbing, raise your seat climber up to just below waist height and grasp the upright arms very firmly as shown in

around the tree. The bungee cord will prevent the seat backrest from falling forwards if you stand up.

5. The treestand seat will provide maximum comfort when the seat pad is near horizontal rather than tipped down in the front. The seat height on the Razor can be easily raised (for bow hunting) or lowered (for gun hunting) by adjusting the two piece buckles up or down the webbing.

CAUTION

Seat strap adjustments must be made on the ground.

Both seat sides must be adjusted evenly so the seat is level side to side. Sliding the webbing straps forward or backward on the frame provides additional comfort.

TIPS

With proper practice you can learn to level your platform without climbing down to re-position the cable. Pulling the cable against the backside of the tree while you are supporting the platform with your legs can do this. While the cable is against the tree, position the platform level and engage the front edge against the tree. This puts a slight bend in the cable while keeping the platform level. Only minor level adjustment, however, can be made using this technique. (The DVD shows this technique).

Sometimes on a cold, dry, hard bark tree a rubbing noise can be produced at the scalloped edge that engages the tree. This comes from friction forces. It can be eliminated a couple of ways. First, simply re-positioning your platform slightly will in most cases eliminate the noise. Second, a liquid or candle/bowstring wax can be applied at the intersection of the tree and the scalloped edge to reduce the friction. Also, using a file to remove the finish and slightly upset (roughen) the smooth metal surface contact points on the scallops can eliminate the noise.

Changing your sitting position can relieve muscle stress and reduce fatigue. This will allow a longer hunt and perhaps an opportunity for a shot. Although it must be done slowly and quietly, repositioning and changing the height of your seat by raising or lowing the seat frame just a couple of inches could make a difference. This changes the hip to knee angle. Moving the seat straps, again slowly and quietly, forward or backward on their support bar will alter the sitting position also. Being comfortable will result in no movement and reduce being detected by game either from sight or from sound.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

CAUTION

Before each use, look for nicks, gouges, cuts, cracks, bends, corrosion or similar damage that can be the result of improper use or accidental damage. For instance, this could occur if someone else used the treestand without knowledge of its proper use, or if the treestand were dropped, hit by a motor vehicle or subject to corrosive conditions, etc.

• The seat on this treestand is removable. We recommend it be removed and stored in a dry place when not in use.

• When not in use, store your treestand in a dry place - tree teeth pointing down - to keep water from pooling inside the stand tubing. Water that is allowed to fill the stand tubing and freeze will rupture the tubing.

• The powdercoat finish applied at the factory is very durable and should only need touch ups in areas of heavy wear or accidental impact. Use a high quality, outdoor spray paint to cover any bare metal areas that might develop.

• The sole purpose of the plastic coating on the cable is to eliminate noise. After some use you may notice some abrasions, peeling or possibly cuts in the coating. This coating does not affect the performance or safety of your treestand. It is there to eliminate unnecessary noise when sliding the cable down into the tubing.

• When transporting your Summit Treestand be sure it is securely tied down and be sure no other objects can slid into or hit the treestand possibly causing damage.

Should you damage any part of your Summit Treestand, contact your nearest authorized Summit dealer or the factory to obtain the proper corrective action procedure and/or replacement parts for the treestand.

Summit Treestands have the highest structural integrity by design, material selection and manufacturing techniques, but as its owner, only your continued care will assure trouble free performance. When the above-mentioned guidelines are followed, your

Summit Treestand will provide years of successful hunting.

HARNESS SUSPENSION

It is necessary and very important that someone knows your hunting location and time of return. It is also very important that you carry (on your person) emergency communication devices such as a cell phone, two-way radio, whistle, signal flare or preferably a PLD (Personal Locator Device - FCC approved July, ‘03). When triggered, a PLD will transmit an emergency signal to local rescue teams identifying your location via satellite GPS coordinates. PLD’s may be purchased at

Wilderness outfitters or on the internet.

Suspension trauma or blood pooling can occur when suspended motionless in a harness for periods of time. This can lead to unconsciousness and death. A suspension relief strap is furnished with your harness. Read your harness instructions to assure that you know how to use it.

WARNING

If you have to hang in the tree before help arrives, you need to exercise your legs by pushing off from the tree or by using the enclosed suspension relief strap. See the treestand harness instructions and the enclosed instructions for more information.

Self extraction may be necessary in the unfortunate situation that (A) no one knows your location, (B) your communication efforts are exhausted, (C) you are confident that you have the strength, dexterity and ability to perform self-extraction and (D) you decide this is your “absolute last resort”. It is recommended to carry a device to assist with this self-extraction. Simple devices such as screw-in steps or a rope “Tree Descender” (available from Summit) will allow you to remove the weight from your harness. This may enable you to return to the treestand/ladder/climbing steps or slowly descend the tree.

Several optional products/systems are available that offer self-recovery or self extraction from a fall when suspended in a harness. Returning to the ground obviously also relieves suspension trauma and some systems automatically descend the user while others allow user control. If one of these products/systems is selected for use as an additional safety precaution against prolonged suspension, be sure to follow the manufacturers’ directions for safe use.

LIMITED WARRANTY

(A) Warranty

Summit Treestands, LLC (Summit) warrants to the original retail purchaser that all products manufactured by it are free from defects in material and manufacture at the time of shipment for sixty (60) months from the date of purchase. Summit will replace any part found defective if the unit claimed to be defective shall be returned to Summit, postage prepaid, within the warranty period.

This warranty shall not apply to any product which has been subjected to misuse; misapplication; neglect (including but not limited to improper maintenance); accident; improper installation; modification (including but not limited to use of unauthorized parts or attachments); adjustment or repair. THE FOREGOING IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED (INCLUDING THOSE OF

SIÈGE

Votre siège sera expédié séparément dans la boîte. Les courroies et les boucles sont attachées et bouclées à la manufacture dans le bas du siège. Débouclez avant de procéder.

. Positionnez le siège à l’intérieur du cadre du siège du grimpeur.

2. Enroulez la sangle du siège par-dessus le cadre à partir de l’intérieur vers l’extérieur tel qu’illustré à la figure 1.

3. Tournez la glissière 3-barres légèrement de côté et poussez la à travers la boucle de métal en ‘’D’’ qui est cousue au bout de la sangle

( figure 2).

VIPER ELITE / SPECIALIST

Le Viper Elite et le Specialist SD possèdent des sièges en maille avec une sangle pour attacher (deux boucles au total). Les sangles s’enroulent au-dessus des tubes du mirador et s’accrochent sous le siège.

180 MAX / ULTIMATE VIPER

Sur les miradors 180 MAX et Ultimate Viper, le siège périphérique possède trois sangles additionnelles. Elles s’attachent sur le périmètre du cadre et au montant droit pour conserver le siège dans la position appropriée.

AVIS

Le siège en mousse inclus avec le mirador est amovible pour l’entreposage. NE LAISSEZ PAS votre mirador à l’extérieur lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé.

ÉTRIER RAPIDCLIMB

Des réajustements occasionnels peuvent être nécessaires dûs aux changements de vos chaussures ou afin que les étriers s’insèrent entre les barreaux de la plate-forme lorsque vous la pliez. Pour ajuster, vous devez simplement dévisser l’écrou à oreille et glisser l’étrier de haut en bas.

Il n’est pas nécessaire de retirer complètement l’écrou pour ajuster l’étrier.

L’ATTACHEMENT À L’ARBRE

AVERTISSEMENT

Veuillez lire et comprendre les instructions d’utilisation du harnais de sécurité avant de tenter de grimper! Assurez-vous de maintenir le harnais de corps complet attaché à l’arbre en tout temps après avoir quitté le sol.

1. Attachez la base de la plate-forme en premier. Pour ce faire, tirez vers le bas et tenez le câble à ressort QuickDraw tel qu’illustré à la figure 3. Ceci relâchera la patte de verrouillage du câble, permettant ainsi au câble d’être poussé au-delà de la patte de verrouillage. Une fois que le câble a

été poussé au-delà de la patte de verrouillage, vous pouvez relâcher la détente.

2. Poussez le câble dans le tube du mirador jusqu’à ce que l’arrêt du câble puisse être soulevé en dehors de la boucle.

Le câble devrait être libre à ce moment. Vous pouvez maintenant retirer le câble du mirador.

3. Prenez une extrémité du câble autour de l’arbre et commencez à le glisser à l’intérieur du tube tel qu’illustré à la

figure 4. Une fois que le câble glisse facilement à l’intérieur du tube (plier le câble vers le haut facilite l’insertion du câble dans le tube), vous êtes prêt à le placer dans sa position finale.

4. Tirez le câble vers l’arrière de l’arbre et assoyez-le contre l’arrière du support tel qu’illustré à la figure 5. Le ressort du câble QuickDraw se fermera en position derrière un des arrêts de câbles.

Vous n’avez pas à tenir la détente du QuickDraw pour barrer le câble en place.

5. Votre support de câble devrait ressembler à la figure 6.

6. Si nécessaire, aller de l’autre côté de l’arbre et positionner l’autre extrémité du câble en répétant les étapes de tirer le ressort du câble du QuickDraw, glissez le câble dans le tube et de s’assurer que le ressort du câble du QuickDraw est barré en position.

AVERTISSEMENT

Il est TRÈS IMPORTANT de vérifier le câble de votre mirador auto-grimpant afin de vous assurer qu’il n’y a pas de signe d’effilochement, de dommage ou de brin de métal brisés.

NE PAS UTILISER UN CÂBLE

BRISÉS. Appelez immédiatement pour commander un câble de remplacement si cela se produit.

Si le ressort du câble QuickDraw ne barre pas en position, derrière l’arrêt du câble tel qu’illustré à la

figure 7, N’UTILISEZ PAS LE

MIRADOR puisque le câble n’est pas sécurisé et peut entrainer une chute! Contactez Summit pour obtenir les corrections appropriées.

AVERTISSEMENT

NE JAMAIS relâcher le câble de la plate-forme ou du siège grimpeur pour effectuer des ajustements une fois que vous avez quitté le sol!

Pour s’assurer que le mirador est nivelé à la hauteur à laquelle vous aller chasser, observez le changement de diamètre de l’arbre entre la base de l’arbre et la hauteur finale du mirador.

Il est très important d’ajuster la base de la plate-forme et le siège en bas de l’arbre de sorte qu’elle sera à niveau lorsqu’elle sera à la hauteur de chasse désirée. Les arbres que l’on trouve couramment dans les marais ou les marécages ont tendance à être gonflés à la base ce qui nécessitera un plus grand angle de départ pour faire en sorte que votre mirador sera à niveau comparativement à un arbre plus fuselé.

7. Répétez les étapes 1 à 6 pour la portion du siège du grimpeur du mirador.

LE RESSORT

DERRIÈRE L’ARRÊT DU

CÂBLE

AVIS

Basé sur les mesures habituelles – afin de vous assurer que la plate-forme et le siège grimpeur sont à niveau à la hauteur désirée pour la chasse, le bord avant du mirador (la partie éloignée de l’arbre) devrait être plus haut de 10 à 15 CM que le bord appuyé sur l’arbre (

voir figure 8). Le siège

grimpeur du mirador s’attache au-dessus de la plate-forme et devrait avoir le même angle que la plate-forme avant de commencer à grimper.

CORDE D’ATTACHE

AVERTISSEMENT

Le siège grimpeur et la plate-forme doivent être attachés ensemble avec une corde, tel qu’illustré à la

figure 9 et à la figure 10, avant de grimper.

La corde d’attache (incluse) attache le siège du grimpeur à la plate-forme. Dans le cas où le contrôle de la plate-forme est perdu, cette dernière tombera seulement sur la longueur de cette corde. Ceci vous permettra de récupérer la plate-forme et de l’assoir sur l’arbre.

1. Enroulez la corde d’attache autour de la fourche de la plateforme et poussez l’extrémité à travers afin de faire un nœud sanglé tel qu’illustré à la figure 9.

2. Amenez la corde vers le haut et autour de la fourche du siège du grimpeur. Attachez l’attache sur la corde tel qu’illustré à la figure 10.

3. La plate-forme devrait maintenant être attachée au siège du grimpeur. Pour faciliter le transport sur le dos, détachez la corde et enroulez la autour de la fourche de la plate-forme.

MONTER / UTILISATION / DESCENDRE

(GROUPE A)

GRIMPER AVEC VOTRE NOUVEAU MIRADOR

AVERTISSEMENT

À ce moment, il est OBLIGATOIRE ET NÉCESSAIRE que vous attachiez votre harnais de sécurité

à la courroie de sécurité à l’arbre et que vous demeuriez attaché en tout temps après avoir quitté le sol.

TOUJOURS vous référez aux instructions écrites du harnais de sécurité pour l’utilisation appropriée de votre harnais de sécurité.

1. En suivant les instructions du harnais, attachez l’attache du harnais à la courroie de sécurité. Enroulez la courroie autour de l’arbre pour la sécuriser. Voir figure 11.

2. Vos étriers RapidClimb ainsi que les cordons élastiques pour le talon devraient déjà être attachés à votre mirador.

Pour utiliser, reculez votre talon sur le cordon élastique

( figure 12), puis glissez simplement votre botte dans l’étrier

RapidClimb. Assurez-vous que votre botte est en toute sécurité en dessous de l’étrier tel qu’illustré à la figure 13.

3. Sur tous les modèles sauf le 180 Max, accrochez le cordon élastique noir autour du siège tel qu’illustré à la

figure 14, pour le garder en toute sécurité lorsque vous grimpez.

PRUDENCE

NE PAS tenter de grimper avec la plate-forme de ce mirador sans utiliser

également le siège grimpeur correspondant ou un dispositif pour grimper.

Ne jamais tenter de grimper sans le siège grimpeur. Le siège grimpeur est fabriqué pour vous aider dans l’opération appropriée de votre mirador. Il est fabriqué pour supporter votre poids correctement lorsque vous grimpez.

4. Pour commencer à grimper, levez le siège du grimpeur juste en dessous de votre taille et saisissez fermement le montant de l’appui-bras tel qu’illustré à la figure 15.

5. Avec tout votre poids sur la barre rembourrée,

ou sur

le siège pour le modèle 180, libérez la plate-forme en levant tel qu’illustré à la figure 16. En tirant vers le haut et légèrement vers l’extérieur, tout en pointant les orteils vers le bas, cela devrait libérer la plateforme de l’arbre.

6. Amenez la plate-forme vers le haut en pliant les genoux et en levant les jambes bien droites.

Assurez-vous de ne pas accrocher le câble sur une

écorce ou une grosse branche.

7. Pour réengager la plateforme, effectuez une rotation de la plate-forme vers le bas jusqu’à ce que les dents entrent en contact avec le devant de l’arbre et puis effectuez une rotation de la plate-forme vers le bas jusqu’à ce que le câble entre en contact avec l’arrière de l’arbre tel qu’illustré à la

figure 17.

Les étriers RapidClimb sont situés dans une position telle que la distribution égale du poids sécurisera la plate-forme à l’arbre lorsque vous grimpez.

8. Vous pouvez maintenant mettre votre poids sur la plateforme (pour vous assurer que vous ne l’avez pas placé sur un nœud ou une branche à l’arrière de l’arbre). Une fois la plateforme sécurisée, levez-vous et glissez l’attache de votre harnais de sécurité vers le haut de l’arbre.

9. Une fois que la plate-forme supporte complètement votre poids, vous pouvez désengager le siège du grimpeur et le lever encore à la hauteur de votre taille tel qu’illustré encore une fois à la figure 15. Répétez

les étapes 4 à 9 jusqu’à ce que vous soyez à la hauteur de chasse désirée.

Pour le 180 Max, vous devez vous assoir sur le siège pour grimper. NE PAS s’assoir sur la barre avant pendant que vous grimper.

TOUJOURS positionner le harnais de sécurité afin d’éviter que la corde d’attache soit détendue.

1. Lorsque vous arrivez à la hauteur de chasse désirée (ne grimpez pas plus que 4,5 mètres; ce n’est pas nécessaire) et que vous vous êtes assuré que votre mirador est à niveau, positionnez votre siège du grimpeur légèrement en dessous de à taille. Un peu plus bas sera plus confortable mais un peu plus haut fera moins de mouvement lorsque vous vous lèverez.

2. Avec votre harnais de sécurité attaché à l’arbre au-dessus du mirador, retirez vos pieds, un à la fois, de leur position sécurisée dans les

étriers RapidClimb.

3. Enroulez la courroie tourniquet verte avec boucle (fournie) (courroie de 1 po. avec boucle à ressort) autour de l’arbre puis à travers le cadre du siège tel qu’illustré à la figure 18. Serrez la courroie afin d’empêcher la zone dentelée de perdre contact avec l’arbre.

4. Décrochez la corde élastique qui a maintenu le dossier du siège en position pendant que vous grimpiez. Positionnez le dossier du siège en enroulant chaque extrémité de la corde élastique autour du câble pour monter et en accrochant les deux crochets ensemble tel qu’illustré à la

figure 19 ou, en l’enroulant autour de l’arbre. La corde élastique empêchera le dossier du siège de tomber vers l’avant si vous vous levez.

5. Le siège du mirador procurera un confort maximal lorsque le coussin du siège est proche de la position horizontal plutôt que d’être penché vers l’avant. La hauteur du siège peut être facilement relevée (pour la chasse à l’arc) ou abaissée (pour la chasse avec une arme à feu) en ajustant les deux boucles vers le haut ou vers le bas.

Les deux côtés du siège doivent être ajustés de façon égale de sorte que le siège est à niveau d’un coté à l’autre. En glissant les sangles du siège vers l’avant ou vers l’arrière sur le cadre, vous bénéficierez d’un confort additionnel.

La hauteur du siège n’est pas ajustable sur le Viper Elite.

Les ajustements des courroies du siège doivent être effectués sur le sol.

1. Rattachez la plate-forme du mirador à vos pieds. Reculez votre talon sur la corde élastique ( figure 20) puis glissez votre botte sous l’étrier RapidClimb. Assurez-vous que votre botte est en toute sécurité sous l’étrier tel qu’illustré à la

figure 21.

2. Détachez la corde élastique qui a retenu le siège en place et pliez le siège vers le haut. Sécurisez le dossier et le siège tel qu’illustré à la figure 22. Détachez et rangez la courroie qui a maintenu le cadre du siège à l’arbre ( figure 23).

3. Placez le siège du grimpeur approximativement au niveau des genoux, assoyez-vous sur la barre rembourrée

( ou sur le siège sur le modèle 180), et saisissez le bras du montant comme vous l’avez fait pour grimper (voir

figure

24).

4. En saisissant fermement le bras du montant du siège du grimpeur, désengagez la plate-forme en soulevant et inclinant le bord le plus proche de l’arbre vers le bas. Une fois que la plate-forme a été délogée, vous pouvez la descendre (voir figure 25). Faites des mouvements courts et

égaux de 25 à 30 CM à la fois.

5. Pour réengager, effectuez une rotation de la partie la plus près de l’arbre vers le haut. Placez prudemment votre poids sur la plate-forme.

6. Une fois la plate-forme sécurisée, levez-vous et glissez la sangle d’attache du harnais de sécurité vers le bas, à la hauteur de votre poitrine et répétez les étapes 3 à 6 jusqu’à ce que vous ayez atteint le bas de l’arbre.

TRANSPORTER SUR LE DOS

Votre mirador est conçu pour s’emboiter ensemble pour ne faire qu’une unité et ainsi faciliter son transport. Le modèle VIPER démontré, autres modèles similaires

1. Détachez la corde d’attache du siège du grimpeur et enroulez la autour de la plate-forme plusieurs fois pour la sécuriser.

2. Commencez par la portion du siège du grimpeur du mirador, placez le sur son extrémité tel qu’illustré à la figure 26.

3. Prenez la plate-forme et glissez la à l’intérieur du siège du grimpeur de sorte que les croisillons verticaux et les supports de câbles sont près du siège du grimpeur tel qu’illustré à la figure 27.

4. La région dentelée de la plate-forme devrait entrer en contact avec l’entretoise en ‘’V’’ sur le siège du grimpeur. À partir de cette position, tirez sur le dossier du siège pour le passer au travers de l’espace large de la plate-forme tel qu’illustré à la figure 28.

5. Sécurisez le siège du mirador en passant la corde élastique du siège autour du cadre et en l’attachant ensemble. (figure 29)

6. Les courroies de transport seront vraisemblablement coincées derrière le siège. Tirez les en dehors et autour des sangles du siège et poussez le siège le plus loin possible au fond du cadre ( voir figure 30).

7. Sécurisez la partie du haut et la plate-forme ensemble avec la courroie tourniquet verte avec boucle à ressort de 1 po. tel qu’illustré à la

figure 31. Ceci prévient le bruit causé par le siège et la plate-forme lorsque vous vous dirigez vers votre lieu de chasse.

8. Utilisez les courroies de transport pour transporter l’unité sur votre dos, la partie dentelée vers le bas, tel qu’illustré à la figure32. Tirez sur les extrémités libres des courroies pour serrer et tirez sur la boucle vers le haut pour relâcher.

Il existe plusieurs façons de placer le siège et les courroies de transport – ceci est seulement un exemple! Il se peut que vous trouviez plus facile de retirer le siège sur les Summit 180 et Ultimate Viper lorsque vous les transportez. Les courroies de transport sont ajustables. Tirez sur les extrémités libres des courroies pour serrer et tirez sur la boucle vers le haut pour relâcher.

GRIMPER AVEC VOTRE NOUVEAU MIRADOR

AVERTISSEMENT

À ce moment, il est OBLIGATOIRE ET NÉCESSAIRE que vous attachiez votre harnais de sécurité

à la courroie de sécurité à l’arbre et que vous demeuriez attaché en tout temps après avoir quitté le sol.

TOUJOURS vous référez aux instructions écrites du harnais de sécurité pour l’utilisation appropriée de votre harnais de sécurité.

RAZOR

RAZOR SD

Si vous avez acheté le Rasor SD, vous devez tout d’abord positionner la barre pour grimper de sorte que vous vous assoyez sur celle-ci pour grimper. Positionnez la barre pour grimper de sorte que la fente de trou de la serrure situé dans la glissière du support du montant ira parfaitement par-dessus l’écrou tel qu’illustré à la figure 33. Ensuite glissez les deux barres – en même temps – par-dessus l’écrou et complètement au travers de la fente du trou de la serrure tel qu’illustré à la figure 34. Maintenant tirez vers le bas sur la barre pour grimper (parce qu’elle est déjà attaché

à l’arbre) pour ‘’assoir’’ l’écrou sur l’arrière de la glissière du montant ( Voir figure 35). La barre pour grimper est maintenant prête à être utilisée.

RAZOR SD / OPENSHOT SD

1. En suivant les instructions du harnais, attachez l’attache du harnais de sécurité à la courroie de sécurité. Enroulez la courroie autour de l’arbre pour la sécuriser. Voir figure 36.

2. Vos étriers RapidClimb et la corde élastique pour le talon devraient déjà être attachés à votre mirador. Pour utiliser, reculez votre talon sur le cordon élastique ( figure 37), puis glissez simplement votre botte en dessous de l’étrier

RapidClimb. Assurez-vous que votre botte est en toute sécurité en dessous de l’étrier tel qu’illustré à la figure 38.

3. Sur le Razor, accrochez le siège vers l’arrière en utilisant la corde élastique autour du siège tel qu’illustré à la

figure

39 pour le sécuriser pendant que vous grimpez.

4. Pour commencer à grimper, levez le siège du grimpeur juste en dessous la taille et serrez les bras du montant fermement tel qu’illustré à la

figure 40 pour le Razor et la figure 41 pour le OpenShot.

5. Razor – placez tout votre poids sur la barre rembourrée avant. OpenShot – Placez votre poids sur vos avant-bras.

Désengagez la plate-forme en levant tel qu’illustré à la

figure

42 (Razor) et à la figure 43 (OpenShot). Tirez vers le haut et légèrement vers l’extérieur, tout en pointant les orteils vers le bas, cela devrait libérer la plate-forme de l’arbre.

6. Amenez la plate-forme vers le haut en pliant les genoux et en levant les jambes bien droites.

Assurez-vous de ne pas accrocher le câble dans une écorce ou une grosse branche.

7. Pour réengager la plate-forme, vous devez simplement effectuer une rotation vers l’arrière et contre l’arbre vers le haut tel qu’illustré à la

figure 44 pour le Razor et à la figure

45 pour le OpenShot.

Les étriers RapidClimb sont situés dans une position telle que la distribution égale du poids sécurisera la plate-forme à l’arbre lorsque vous grimpez.

8. Vous pouvez maintenant mettre votre poids sur la plateforme (pour vous assurer que vous ne l’avez pas placé sur un nœud ou une branche sur l’arrière de l’arbre). Une fois la plate-forme sécurisée, levez-vous et glissez l’attache de votre harnais de sécurité vers le haut de l’arbre.

9. Une fois que la plate-forme supporte complètement votre poids, vous pouvez désengager le siège du grimpeur et le lever encore jusqu’en dessous de la taille tel qu’illustré encore une fois à la

figure 40 pour le Razor et à la figure 41 pour le

OpenShot.

Répétez les étapes 4 à 9 jusqu’à ce que vous soyez à la hauteur de chasse désirée.

PRUDENCE

NE PAS tenter de grimper avec la plate-forme de ce mirador sans utiliser également le siège grimpeur correspondant ou un dispositif pour grimper. Ne jamais tenter de grimper sans le siège grimpeur. Le siège grimpeur est fabriqué pour vous aider dans l’opération appropriée de votre mirador. Il est fabriqué pour supporter votre poids correctement lorsque vous grimpez.

Sécurisez le dossier et le siège tel qu’illustré à la figure 47.

Détachez et mettez de côté la courroie qui a maintenu le cadre du siège à l’arbre ( figure 46).

3. Placez le siège du grimpeur approximativement au niveau des genoux, assoyez-vous sur la barre rembourrée ou reposez votre poids sur l’appui-bras pour le OpenShot, et saisissez le bras du montant comme vous l’avez fait pour grimper (

voir

figure 48 pour le Razor et la figure 49 pour le OpenShot).

4. Pendant que vous saisissez fermement le bras du montant du siège du grimpeur, désengagez la plate-forme en soulevant et inclinant le bord le plus proche de l’arbre vers le bas.

Une fois que la plate-forme a été délogée, vous pouvez la descendre (

voir figure 42 pour le Razor et la figure 43 pour

le OpenShot). Faites des mouvements courts et égaux de 25

1. Attachez la plate-forme du mirador à vos pieds. Reculez votre talon sur la corde élastique ( figure 67) puis glissez votre botte sous l’étrier RapidClimb. Assurez-vous que votre botte est en toute sécurité sous l’étrier tel qu’illustré à la

2. Détachez la corde élastique qui a retenu le cadre du siège à l’arbre ( figure 66).

3. Placez le siège du grimpeur approximativement au niveau des genoux et saisissez le bras du montant comme vous l’avez fait pour grimper ( voir figure 69).

4. Pendant que vous supportez votre poids avec vos avant-bras, désengagez la plate-forme en soulevant et inclinant le bord le plus proche de l’arbre vers le bas.

Une fois que la plate-forme a été délogée, vous pouvez la descendre ( voir figure 70). Faites des mouvements courts et égaux de 25 à 30 CM à la fois.

5. Pour réengager, effectuez une rotation de la partie la plus près de l’arbre vers le haut. Placez prudemment votre poids sur la plate-forme.

NE PAS SAUTER OU REBONDIR SUR LA PLATE-

FORME OU LE SIÈGE pour tenter de la piquer dans l’arbre. Cela n’est pas nécessaire et vous pourriez causer le désengagement de la plateforme par inadvertance.

6. Une fois la plate-forme sécurisée, levez-vous et glissez la sangle d’attache du harnais de sécurité vers le bas, à la hauteur de votre poitrine et

Votre mirador est conçu pour s’emboiter ensemble pour ne faire qu’une unité et ainsi faciliter son transport.

1. Commencez par la portion du siège du grimpeur du mirador, placez-le sur son extrémité tel qu’illustré à la

figure 71.

2. Prenez la plate-forme et glissez la à l’intérieur de siège du grimpeur de sorte que les croisillons verticaux et les supports de câbles sont près du siège du grimpeur tel qu’illustré à la figure 72.

3. La région dentelée de la plate-forme devrait entrer en contact avec l’entretoise en ‘’V’’ sur le siège du grimpeur. À partir de cette position, tirez sur le dossier du siège pour le passer au travers de l’espace large de la plate-forme

4. Si les courroies de transport sont attachées à la plateforme, les courroies de transport seront vraisemblablement coincées derrière le siège. Tirez les en dehors et autour des sangles du siège et poussez le siège le plus loin possible au fond du cadre ( voir figure 73).

5. Sécurisez la partie du haut et la plate-forme ensemble avec la courroie tourniquet verte avec boucle à ressort de 1 po. tel qu’illustré à la figure 74. Ceci prévient le bruit causé par le siège et la plate-forme lorsque vous vous dirigez vers votre lieu de chasse.

6. Utilisez les courroies de transport pour transporter l’unité sur votre dos. Tirez sur les extrémités libres des courroies pour serrer et tirez sur la boucle vers le haut pour relâcher.

CONSEILS

Avec de la pratique, vous pouvez apprendre à niveler votre plate-forme sans avoir à descendre pour repositionner le câble. Tirer le câble contre la paroi arrière de l’arbre alors que vous supportez la plate-forme avec vos jambes peut faire cela. Pendant que le câble est contre l’arbre, positionnez la plate-forme à niveau et engagez le bord avant contre l’arbre. Ceci provoque une légère courbe sur le câble tout en gardant la plate-forme nivelée. Toutefois, vous ne pouvez qu’apporter des changements mineurs avec cette technique.. Parfois, sur une écorce sèche, froide et dure, des bruits de frottement peuvent être produits par la friction des extrémités dentelées sur l’arbre. Ceci est causé par la force de friction. Ces bruits peuvent être éliminés de différentes façons.

Premièrement, tout simplement repositionner légèrement votre plate-forme éliminera les bruits dans la plupart des cas.

Deuxièmement, du liquide, de la cire de chandelle ou de corde d’arc peuvent être appliqués entre l’intersection des extrémités dentelées et l’arbre. Aussi, en utilisant une lime pour rendre les points de contacts de la surface métallique plus rugueux peut

éliminer les bruits.

PRUDENCE

• Le fini powdercoat appliqué à l’usine est très durable et devrait requérir des retouches aux endroits d’usure prononcé ou aux endroits où un impact s’est produit. Utilisez une peinture en aérosol d’extérieur de bonne qualité pour couvrir le métal dénudé.

• La seule utilité du recouvrement de plastique sur le câble est d’éliminer le bruit. Après quelques utilisations, vous remarquerez des éraflures, du pelage et possiblement des coupures sur le recouvrement. Ce recouvrement n’affecte en rien la performance ou la sécurité de votre mirador. Il est utilisé pour éliminer le bruit inutile du câble lorsqu’il glisse à l’intérieur du tube.

• Lors du transport du mirador Summit, assurez-vous qu’il soit bien attaché et assurez-vous que d’autres objets ne puissent frapper le mirador et l’endommager.

SUSPENSION DU HARNAIS

Il est nécessaire et très important qu’une autre personne connaisse votre lieu de chasse et l’heure de votre retour. Il est

également très important que vous ayez (en votre possession) un dispositif de communication d’urgence tel un téléphone céllulaire, une radio bidirectionnelle, un sifflet, une fusée de signalisation ou préférablement un DLP (Dispositif de localisation personnel - approuvé par le FCC - juillet 2003). Lorsqu’enclenché, ce DLP transmettra un signal d’urgence à l’équipe de secours locale et précisera votre position via des coordonnées GPS satellite. Un dispositif DLP peut être acheté dans un magasin de plein air ou sur internet.

Un traumatisme dû à la suspension ou à une interruption de la circulation sanguine peut survenir lorsque suspendu sans mouvement dans un harnais pour un période de temps. Une courroie de suspension de secours est fournie avec votre harnais. Lisez les instructions pour votre harnais pour vous assurer de l’utiliser adéquatement.

Descender’’ (disponible chez Summit) vous permettra d’éliminer le poids sur votre harnais. Ceci vous pourrait vous permettre de revenir au mirador, à l’échelle ou aux marches vissées ou vous permettra de descendre lentement vers le sol.

Plusieurs produits/systèmes optionnels sont disponibles et permettent une auto-récupération ou auto-extraction suite à une chute lorsque suspendu dans un harnais.
