Insert the AC plug of the AC adapter into a grounded power outlet. Press the Power button on the back of the machine to turn it on. Amplifier connection (if necessary) You can play the music through the unit‘s speakers or connect the unit to an external speaker system. • • • Connect the LINE OUT terminal of this unit to the mixer or amplifier using an RCA cable (not supplied). The red connector must be plugged into the right channel input. The white connector must be plugged into the left channel input. Note: When a line-out connection is made, the volume cannot be controlled from the unit itself. SETUP AND OPERATION Before starting playback • • • • 18 Remove the protective cap from the needle. Make sure that the tonearm can be moved freely from the tonearm holder. When the machine is not in use, place the tonearm on the tonearm holder. Replace the protective cap on the needle when the machine is not in use. EN Switch on the device. Place a record on the turntable. If necessary, place an adapter on the rotary axis. Adjust the playback speed (33, 45 or 78 rpm depending on the record) with the speed control knob Lift the tonearm with the lift lever from the tonearm holder. Slowly move the tonearm over the record - this will cause the turntable to spin. Use the lift lever to slowly lower the tonearm to the desired position on the record. Playback will then start. When the record is completely played back, the tonearm is automatically lifted off the record. Use the lift lever to move the tonearm back to the tonearm holder. Playback of the record can be interrupted manually by using the lift lever to move the tonearm back to the tonearm holder during playback. Note: Never stop the turntable manually. Do not move the turntable to another location until the tonearm has been securely fixed to the tonearm holder, otherwise the tonearm may be damaged. After playback • • Use the lift lever to move the tonearm back onto the tonearm holder. Put the protective cap back on the needle and fix the tonearm on the tonearm holder. BT CONNECTION 1 2 3 4 Turn the function switch to the BT position, the blue indicator light starts flashing. Turn on BT on your external device (e.g. smartphone) and search for devices. On your external device, select the BT pairing name of the record player. Once you are connected to the record player, the blue indicator light stops flashing. You can now play music from your device through your turntable. Use the volume control to adjust the volume. 19 EN CARE AND MAINTENANCE Cleaning • • • • • • 20 When opening or closing the turntable cover, handle it gently. Do not touch the needle tip with your fingers; avoid bumping the needle against the turntable platter or record edge. Frequently clean the needle tip-use a soft brush in a “back-to-front’ motion only. If you must use a needle cleaning fluid, use very sparingly. Gently wipe the turntable player housing with a soft cloth. Use only a small amount of mild detergent to clean the turntable player. Never apply harsh chemicals or solvents to any part of the turntable system. EN Replacing the stylus Push the arm lock to release the tone-arm. Take off the cap of the cartridge to expose the needle. Separate the cartridge from the cartridge holder. Gently pull the audio-lines from the cartridge, taking care to pull from the terminal connector and not the wire itself. Installing a new stylus cartridge To fit a new cartridge, perform steps 5-8 below. Note: Please take extreme care whilst performing this operation to avoid damaging the tone arm and audio wires. Carefully insert the audio-lines. Make sure the audio-lines are not touching each other. Carefully slide the cartridge into the cartridge holder. Gently clip the cartridge into the cartridge holder. Transport When transporting your record player do not forget to: • • Place the protective cap on the stylus. Put the rest clip into the pick-up arm. 21 EN TROUBLESHOOTING The turntable does not rotate. Make sure that the power plug is plugged into the wall socket. Make sure that the AC adapter connector is connected to the unit. The tone arm does not move. Release the tonearm fuse. There is no sound. Make sure that the needle cover is removed. Make sure the volume is turned up. A loud hissing sound can be heard. Clean the record with an antistatic cloth and cleaning solution. Note: Only use cleaning agents suitable for vinyl records. Using the wrong cleaning agents may damage your records and/or the unit itself.
