To adjust the thread tension, you can turn the needle-thread tension dial. Turning it clockwise will increase the tension, while turning it counterclockwise will decrease the tension.
To change the throat plate and feed dog, use a screwdriver to remove the bed plate and feed dog. Then, fasten the new feed dog temporarily to the machine and replace the throat plate. Finally, replace the bed plate and press it firmly in place.
To sew a seam, set the feed regulating dial for desired stitch length. Raise the take-up lever to its highest point and place fabric under the presser foot. Position needle in fabric, lower presser foot and stitch to end of seam. To reinforce seam ends, press stitch reverse lever down to its lowest position and backstitch.
