The YP-VP2QB also has a variety of playback features, including variable speed playback and A-B repeat, so you can easily find and listen to the parts of your recordings that you want.

You can record voice, and playback recording and music files.

Recording
With Voice Recording, you can record conversations in meetings and lectures as well as your own voice.
To record voice
In the main menu, select .
Press to select a folder to save the recording.
Press .
■
The recording starts.
■
Press to pause recording.
Press to stop recording.
■ The recorded file is saved automatically.
Select <Yes> to play the recorded file.
Caution
• When making voice recording, do not bring the earphones close to you as this may cause noise in your recorded file.
• Do not save copyrighted material that you have recorded to other devices, such as a
PC, or distribute them to others without the permission of the content owners. Doing this may violate copyright laws. Samsung is not liable for any legal issues caused by the user’s illegal use of copyrighted material.

Note
• Even when the power is off, press and hold the button to turn the recorder back on and start recording.
• When the battery is low, you cannot record voice memos.
• Up to 400 voice files can be saved in one voice folder.
• Recorded files are saved in a folder you have selected in
<MY FILES> → <Voice>.
• You can use the external microphone (optional, Φ3.5) for voice recording, or line-in cable (optional, Φ3.5) for recording music from a connected external device. When you connect the optional cable , the <Select Input> screen appears. Select the connected cable and start recording.

Use the voice recording options
Press in the record standby mode.
Use one or more of the following options.

You can select the voice recording quality. See
"Recording quality".
- RAW : Make recording in the best quality.
(WAV)
- HQ (High Quality) : Make recording in a high quality. (MP3)
- SQ (Standard Quality) : Make recording in the standard quality. (MP3)
- LQ (Long Quality) : Make recording for a long time in a low quality. (MP3)
Activate recording function where recording is activated when there is a sound, and pauses when there is no sound.
Record more clearly by reducing the levels of surrounding static or noise.
Control the microphone level to optimize sensitivity during the recording.
Use increased sensitivity for recording low sounds.
Insert a 5 second buffer before the actual recording.

Listen to a desired file
In the main menu, select .
Select a folder you want.
Select a recorded or music file to play.
Control playback by using the buttons. See "Recording playback screen".

While playing a recorded file, press . The fill is divided into two sections at the point where you press the button. You can save the two sections as separate files.
Note
• You can also divide and save sections while recording.
• To divide a file, the total length must be greater than 3 seconds.

Repeat a section of a file
You can select a section of a file to repeat.
Press at the beginning of the section you want to repeat.
• is displayed at the top of the screen and the color of the progress bar changes.
Press at the end of the section you want to repeat.
■ displays at the top of the screen.
Your recorder repeats the marked section.
To cancel repeating, press again.
Note
You can set the end point 3 seconds after the start point.
Use simple repeat
You can skip backward 3 seconds while listening to music or a recording. While listening to a file, press to repeat the previous 3-second section.
Note
If you press within 3 seconds of the beginning of the file, the playback will restart from the beginning.
Set up SoundAlive
Select appropriate sound effects for music.
During playback, press .
Select <SoundAlive>.
Select a sound effect you want.
Note
• If you select <Auto>, your recorder searches the track information (ID3 tag) and automatically selects an appropriate effect.
• To select your own equaliser, select <User>.
Example: Set your own equalizer to <User>
Select <SoundAlive> → <User> and press .
Select a mode, and then adjust the settings.
Note
You can set SoundAlive only when the earphone is connected.

Insert a bookmark
You can insert a bookmark at the point you want and go to the bookmark to play from that point.
Remove a bookmark
Select a file you want.
During playback, press and hold point you want to bookmark.

You can insert 10 bookmarks per file and set up to 50 bookmarks.

Use the playback options
You can change options for playback.
During playback, press .
Use one or more of the following options.

Set the recorder to play only if a sound or voice is detected.

You can set <VOP> to on only during playback at normal speed.

• The adjusted play speed may differ from the actual speed, depending on the file.
• <VOP> will be off if you select any playback speed other than <x1.0>.

Use the microphone mode switch to adjust the settings for the environment.
