Bullhorn RM1250 The Bullhorn RM1250 remote monitoring unit accurately, regularly, and reliably calculates gas or liquid volume by measuring the digital pulse output from a positive displacement (PD), gas, or lease automatic custody transfer meter (LACT). Here are some of the key capabilities of the Bullhorn RM1250:

Activate Bluetooth
Complete the following steps to activate the unit’s Bluetooth to enable it for configuration via a Bluetooth connection.
N
OTE
: The unit will disconnect automatically after 10 minutes. It is not necessary to swipe the activation point again unless you wish to de-activate the Bluetooth connection immediately.
1 Swipe a magnet across the access point on the unit (marked with an arrow on the enclosure. A red light flashes to indicates that the unit is waiting to pair with a Bluetooth-enabled device.
N OTE : If you are using Bullhorn Tools on a laptop and connecting to the unit with a USB mini-b cable instead of the Bluetooth connection, you do not need to activate the unit. The unit will be ready to configure with Bullhorn Tools once the cable has been connected to both the unit and the laptop.

2 If using a laptop and Bullhorn Tools software, continue with Configure with Bullhorn Tools Software .
3 If using the Bullhorn Tools mobile app, refer to the Bullhorn Tools Mobile User Guide .
Configure with Bullhorn Tools Software
RM1250 units can be configured with Bullhorn Tools software using either a Bluetooth connection (via a USB dongle) or with a direct cable connection (via a USB 5-pin mini-b cable).
An American Innovation USB Bluetooth dongle is recommended when using the Bluetooth function in Bullhorn
Tools.

Ensure that Bullhorn Tool is loaded on your computer. The latest version of the software can be downloaded from Bullhorn Web Help ( Downloads) .
1 If using a Bluetooth connection, connect the AI USB Bluetooth dongle (included in the configuration kit) to your computer’s USB port. If using the USB 5-pin mini-b cable, connect the cable to the unit’s USB port and then to your computer’s USB port.
2 Open Bullhorn Tools.
3 Select the unit.
N OTE : If a unit is not displayed, click Scan .

If you are using the USB 5-pin mini-b cable, the Connect to Unit window will look slightly different:

4 Click Connect.

5 The Unit Overview window displays. Click Refresh to read unit settings and update the communication reading ( Radio SNR ).
N OTE : To ensure strong communication to the cellular service, the Radio SNR reading should be
-105 or better.

Use Bullhorn Tools to complete the following configuration tasks on the unit:
• View Unit Information — the main Bullhorn Tools Unit Overview window displays current unit information. You can also enable or disable Scaling by clicking the Scaling slider on the Readings line. When scaling is enabled, the accumulator value shown is equal to the Accumulator Value field from the Accumulator settings pane. When disabled, the accumulator value shown is equal to the
Sensor Equivalent field from the Accumulator settings pane. Refer to Configure Readings for more information on these fields.
• Load or Import a Template — units can be configured from a previously-saved template that contains unit settings. Current unit settings are overwritten by the applied template.
• Set Reporting Schedule and Battery Information — set a transmission schedule and set battery install date.
• Send Test Message — send a test message to the unit to verify communications.
• Enable or Disable Readings — enable or disable the unit readings as necessary.
