Adding shortcuts and widgets
1 . Press the Home key > to view apps .
Or, to view widgets, press and hold an empty area of the home screen and select Widgets .
2 . Slide up or down to browse the available apps; slide left or right to browse the available widgets .
3 . Press and hold a widget or an app icon and drag it to a home screen panel .
Moving shortcuts or widgets
1 . Press and hold a widget or shortcut on the home screen .
2 . Drag it to the place you need .
Removing shortcuts or widgets
1 . Press and hold a widget or shortcut on the home screen .
2 . Drag it to to remove it .
Adjusting widget size
1 . Press and hold a widget on the home screen and then release it .
2 . An outline appears around the widget . Drag the outline to resize the widget .
Note: Not all widgets can be resized .

Organizing with folders
You can create folders on the home screen and add several shortcuts to a folder . You can move or remove folders the same way as moving or removing shortcuts .
Creating a folder
1 . Press and hold an icon on a home screen until appears at the top of the page .
2 . Drag the icon to and release it . A new folder will be created and the icon is put into the folder .
Renaming a folder
1 . Tap a folder to open it . The folder name is displayed above the icons .
2 . Tap the folder name and enter a new name .
3 . Tap Done .
Adding more icons to a folder
1 . Press and hold an icon and then drag it onto a folder icon .
2 . Release the icon and it will be put into the folder .
Removing icons from a folder
1 . Tap a folder to open it .
2 . Press and hold the icon you want to remove and then drag it to the home screen .
3 . Release the icon and it will be removed from the folder .
Note: Drag the folder to
to move the app shortcuts in the folder to the last home screen and delete the folder .

Rearranging the primary shortcuts
The home screen includes a customizable primary shortcuts area at the bottom of all home screens . You can keep up to four items in addition to Apps in the primary shortcuts area . Drag shortcuts or folders in or out of the area to rearrange the area .
Entering text
You can enter text using the on-screen keyboard . Some apps open it automatically . In others, you open it by tapping where you want to type . You can press the Back key to hide the on-screen keyboard . You can also enter text by speaking with the Google voice typing feature .
Enabling or disabling input methods
1 . Press the Home key > > > Language & input .
2 . Tap an item under Keyboard & input methods . You can set the current input method and choose the settings for input methods .
Note: Some default input methods may not be disabled .
Changing input methods
1 . When you use the on-screen keyboard to enter text, the icon appears in the Status Bar .
Note: The icon appears only when more than one input method is installed and enabled for use .
2 . Open the Notification Panel and tap Change keyboard .
3 . Select the input method you need .

TouchPal keyboard
The TouchPal keyboard offers three layouts: FULL, PHONEPAD, and T+ . You can tap to select a layout or an input language .
Note: The TouchPal keyboard defaults to the FULL layout .
You can also use Curve
®
and Wave
™
to speed up text input by replacing the key tapping operation with a tracing gesture where you move your finger from letter to letter without lifting the finger until you reach the end of the word .
The FULL layout
The FULL layout offers an input experience similar to a computer keyboard .
The alphabetic keys: Tap the keys to enter letters .
Tap a key and slide up to enter the number or symbol on the key . You can also press and hold a key and slide to choose more characters .
The capital key: Tap to use uppercase . Double tap to lock uppercase . This key also changes to indicate the current case you are using: for lowercase, for uppercase, and when locked in uppercase .
Word prediction: Press and hold and tap the Prediction switch to turn off or on prediction .
• to enter digits and symbols . You can tap to go back to the alphabetic keys . Tap to enter emoji or emoticons .
The delete key: Tap
to delete text before the cursor . You can also press and hold the key to quickly delete multiple characters .
More options: Tap to access the quick settings of TouchPal keyboard, use voice input, edit text, resize the keyboard, change keyboard themes, and more .
