Tuning to a radio station

Press FM/DAB  repeatedly.

Select the “FM” or “DAB” function.

Reception of DAB/DAB+ radio station

When you select the “DAB” function for the first time after you purchase the system, DAB Automatic Scan starts automatically and creates a list of available services. During the DAB Automatic Scan, the scanning progress is indicated as a percentage. Do not press any button on the unit or the remote control during DAB

Automatic Scan. Scanning is interrupted and service list may not be created properly.

To run the DAB Automatic Scan manually,

perform the procedure of “Running the DAB

Automatic Scan manually” (page 16). If

you have moved to another area, perform the DAB Automatic Scan manually and reregister the contents of broadcasts.

Perform tuning.

For tuning to a DAB/DAB+ station

Press PRESET +/–  repeatedly to tune to the desired station.

For automatic scanning (FM band only)

Press TUNING MODE  repeatedly until

“AUTO” appears, and then press

TUNING +/– . Scanning stops automatically when a station is tuned in.

For manual tuning (FM band only)

Press TUNING MODE  repeatedly until

“MANUAL” appears, and then press

TUNING +/–  repeatedly to tune to the desired station. Each time you press

TUNING +/– , the frequency changes step by step. If you hold TUNING +/–  down, the frequency changes continuously until the button is released.

Notes on DAB/DAB+ stations

• When tuning to a DAB/DAB+ station, it may take a few seconds before you hear any sound.

• Primary service is automatically received when secondary service ends.

• This tuner does not support data services.

Tip

• When you tune to an FM station that provides

RDS services, the service name or station name appears on the display (European model only).

• If reception of an FM stereo broadcast is noisy, press FM MODE  repeatedly to select “MONO” to select monaural reception. This reduces noise.

If the scanning for an FM station does not stop, press   to stop scanning, then perform manual tuning.

Running the DAB

Automatic Scan manually

Press TUNING MODE  repeatedly until “SCAN” appears.

Press  to perform scanning.

Scanning begins. The scanning progress is indicated as a percentage. Depending on the DAB/DAB+ services available in your area, scanning may take a few minutes.

Presetting radio stations

You can preset your desired radio stations.

When scanning is complete, a list of available services is created.

Note

• If your country or region does not support

DAB/DAB+ broadcast, “NO SERV” appears.

• This procedure clears all previously stored presets.

• Before unplugging the DAB/FM antenna, make sure the system is turned off to preserve your own DAB/DAB+ settings.

Tune to the desired station.

Press TUNER MEMORY .

Press PRESET +/–  repeatedly to select a preset number, then press .

You can also select a preset number by pressing TUNER MEMORY number (1 to

4)  or

/// .

Preset number

“COMPLETE” appears on the display  and the radio station is registered with the preset number.

Repeat the steps above to register further radio stations.

Tip

• You can preset up to 20 DAB/DAB+ and 20 FM stations.

• If you select an already-registered preset number in step 3, the preset radio station is replaced by the currently tuned-in radio station.

Selecting a preset radio station

To select radio stations registered to a preset number from 1 to 4

Press FM/DAB  repeatedly to select the

“FM” or “DAB” function.

Press TUNER MEMORY number (1 to 4) .

To select radio stations registered to a preset number of 5 or higher

Press FM/DAB  repeatedly to select the

“FM” or “DAB” function.

Press TUNING MODE  repeatedly to select “PRESET.”

Press PRESET +/–  repeatedly to select the desired preset number.
