Frequently Answers and Questions
What should I do if cracks appear on the hob surface?
Switch the hob off immediately, disconnect it from the mains and inform the service department. A defective surface can allow overboiling food to penetrate and lead to contact with live parts.
How do I remove spilled sugar or melted plastic from the hob?
Keep the cooking zone switched on and scrape the remains off the hot surface immediately with a scraper, protecting your hands. Then switch the zone off and, once it has cooled down, clean it with a special detergent.
Which pans are suitable for the ceramic hob?
Use pans with a flat, solid base and no rough edges, as rough bases can scratch the ceramic surface. Aluminium or copper bottoms are unsuitable because they can cause permanent stains. The pan diameter should be slightly larger than the cooking zone.
How do I activate the outer circle of a double-circuit cooking zone?
Turn the control knob for the zone past position "10" to the final stop; it springs back to "10" and the second circle switches on. The temperature can then be controlled by turning the knob back to the desired position.
The cooking zone does not heat up after switching it on. What can I check myself?
Make sure that the fuse is turned on. Repairs on electrical appliances must only be carried out by qualified electricians, so if the fuse is on and the zone still does not heat, contact the service department.
Why does the hob buzz when I heat up a zone?
A buzzing sound is not a defect; it stops as the heat increases.
How does the warming zone work?
The warming zone is switched on and off by the touch control unit on the ceramic surface in front of the zone: touch the field "1" to switch it on and "0" to switch it off.
