Frequently Answers and Questions
How can I select LSE and HSE as clock source and change the frequency?
The LSE and HSE clock sources are configured in the Clock tree view. You can select them as clock sources and change their frequency by clicking on the corresponding options in the Clock tree view.
Why STM32CubeMX does not allow me to configure PC13, PC14, PC15 and PI8 as outputs when one of them is already configured as an output?
PC13, PC14, PC15 and PI8 are special pins that are dedicated to specific functions. They may not be available for general purpose I/O if they are already configured for another purpose.
Why do I get the error "Java 7 update 45' when installing ‘Java 7 update 45’ or a more recent version of the JRE?
This error is caused by a known issue with the Java 7 update 45 JRE that can affect STM32CubeMX. To fix the issue, please install a newer version of the JRE from the official Java website.

How is a timer configured using STM32CubeMX?
To configure a timer using STM32CubeMX: 1. Pinout View: Select the timer instances via the IP tree. 2. Clock Configuration View: Configure the clock tree to ensure the timer receives the appropriate clock source and frequency. 3. Configuration View: Configure the specific parameters for the timer, such as mode, prescaler, and period. Refer to "Tutorial 1: From pinout to project C code generation using an STM32F4 MCU" in the viewed document for a detailed walkthrough using Timer 3 (TIM3). Also, check the clock and GPIO settings for proper timer operation.

How are pins labeled in STM32CubeMX?
Pins can be labeled in the STM32CubeMX tool using the Chip view (right-click the pin, select "Enter User Label") or via the Pinout Menu ("Pins/Signals Options" window). To display these, ensure the "Show user labels" option is selected in the Pinout menu.

How is the interrupt initialization sequence ordered, and how can it be modified?
By default, interrupts are enabled as part of the peripheral MSP initialization function, after the configuration of the GPIOs and the enabling of the peripheral clock. However, this behavior can be modified by selecting "Select for Init sequence ordering" for a set of peripherals. This moves the HAL_NVIC function calls for each peripheral to a dedicated function, named MX_NVIC_Init, defined in main.c. The HAL_NVIC functions are then called in the order specified in the Code generation view.
