What are the power supply requirements for the NMEA 2000 network?

The NMEA 2000 network should have its own 12-15 V DC power supply protected by a 5 Amp fuse. Do not connect the NMEA 2000 power cable to the same terminals as the starter batteries, autopilot computer, radar, or other high-current products.

How can other equipment be interfaced using NMEA 2000, SimNet, and NMEA 0183?

Connect NMEA 2000 devices directly via Micro-C connectors and cables. Connect SimNet devices via an adapter cable, reference 24005729. Connect NMEA 0183 devices via an AT10 converter (plus adapter cable).

How are devices connected using NMEA 2000 (SimNet)?

NMEA 2000 allows for data and command exchange between interfaced products. Use Micro-C and Mini-C cables for the physical network aspect. Most NMEA 2000 devices can be directly connected to the NMEA 2000 backbone, and SimNet devices can be connected using adapter cables.
