Liquid crystal display: a panel based on liquid crystals. Two electrodes control a liquid crystal layer, which is sealed between two
glass panels. As soon as a current is applied, the crystals align
themselves. Together with two large polarising filters and miniature
colour filters applied to the glass, the crystals form a type of light
valve with which the brightness of individual pixels and their colour
(red, green, blue) can be controlled.

Adjusts LED light sources in order to enhance black levels. With
local area dimming, the entire screen is not dimmed, but rather

Metz innovation in the field of picture optimisation: mecavisionHD+
now makes use of dynamic motion compensation, even when
viewing high-resolution signals. This technology enables extremely
smooth motion sequences. A further advantage: thanks to HDMI
technology, Metz televisions display films (e.g. in Blu-ray format)
in their, pure unadulterated form with 24 pictures per second – the
exact picture frequency used to record and store films and show
them in the cinema.

mecaSound+, the digital signal technology developed by Metz,
optimises audio signals; in conjunction with high performance

Automatic adjustment to ambient brightness
It goes without saying that Metz TVs are also equipped to
save energy in everyday use. Therefore, it makes sense to
activate the “adapt to ambient brightness” setting. Activating this feature will let the LUX automatic contrast continually
adjust the screen to suit the ambient brightness, taking care
of both your eyes and your wallet. Energy consumption is
reduced by up to 50% with no reduction in picture quality.
Metz even thinks carefully about the design of TV housing,
and is one of the few manufacturers to give you a genuine
on/off switch. This means that the television is completely
isolated from the power supply by a mains switch, preventing energy consumption while it is turned off.
