performance.

note the mode! and serial number in the space provided and retain as a permanent record of

Care and Cleaning
Projection Screen (Turn PTV Off)
The projection screen is a high precision lens system which does not attract dust.
OO Occasional dusting with a feather duster or very soft brush using only up and down motions.
. Never rub across the screen in side to side motion.
O Infrequent washing with a very weak solution of dishwashing soap, using a soft, lint-free
clean cloth.
« DO NOT USE ABRASIVE CLEANERS.
* Do not use window or glass cleaner, laundry detergent, automatic dishwasher soap, or
abrasive cleaners.
* Do not use alcohol, ammonia, or petroleum based products.
1 Avoid excessive moisture and wipe dry.
* Prevent solution from running into the receiver below.
O Avoid bumping or scraping the screen.
* Protect the very fine grooves on the screen which transport the picture.
Cabinet and Remote Control
О) For plastic cabinets and Remote Control, use a soft cloth dampened with water or a mild
detergent solution. Avoid excessive moisture and wipe dry.
0 For wooden cabinets, use a soft cloth and an occasional coat of furniture polish to preserve
the finish.

Television Location
This unit can be used as an entertainment center. Consult your dealer for available options.
A Avoid excessive sunlight or bright lights, including reflections.
O Keep away from excessive heat or moisture. Inadequate ventilation may cause internal
component failure.
{3 Fluorescent lighting may reduce Remote Control transmitting range.
D Avoid magnetic equipment, including motors, fans, or external speakers.
Optional Cable Connections
Shielded audio and video cables should be used between components. For best results:
O Use 75-ohm coaxial shielded cables.
O Check type of output and input connectors on your components.
O Determine required cable lengths.

Procedure
1. Connect equipment as shown to rear Audio/Video input jacks.
2. Select the Video mode by pressing TV/VIDEO button.
3. Operate optional equipment as instructed in equipment manual.
Note: The S-VIDEQ connection is optional and overrides other VIDEQ connection. Use
INPUT 1, AUDIO À and L with S-VIDEO connection.
TO AUDIO AMPlifier
Connect to an external audio amplifier input for listening to a stereo system.
Note: TO AUDIO AMP terminals cannot be connected directly to external speakers.
Audio Adjustments
Select TV SPEAKERS ON located in the AUDIO menu on screen.
Set amplifier volume to minimum.
Adjust PTV volume to desired level.
Adjust amplifier volume to match the PTV.
Select TV SPEAKERS OFF&VAQ from AUDIO menu.
Volume, mute, bass, treble and balanced are now controlled from the PTV.
Note: In OFFEFAO the volume is controlled by the external amplifier.

PIP Operation with a VCR and Cable Box
This television includes a Picture In Picture (PIP) feature. A second video source (VCR,
Camcorder, etc.) is required to provide a second picture.
Connect your television to a VCR and Cable Box, as shown.

Procedure
Turn the VCR OFF and tune the PTV to channel 3.
Press the PIP button on the Remote Control to display the PIP frame on screen.
Note: The PIP picture is the same as the Main picture, initially.
° Press the TV/VIDEO button on the Remote Control to select the VIDEO PIP
source.
. Press the VCR button on the Remote Control and turn ON the VCR.
. Press the TV/VCR button on the Remote Control.
. Choose channels for PIP frame by pressing VCR CHANNEL up/down buttons on
the Remote Control.
. Choose channels for the Main Picture by pressing the TV button on the Remote
Control and using the numeric keypad or CH up/down buttons.

When entered, TIME will display on screen after
SET TIME pressing POWER button, RECALL button, or
changing channels.
ANT Choose CABLE or TV to match the signal at your
antenna input.
AUTO PROG Automatically program channels with a signal
Into memory.
MANUAL PROG Manually add or delete channels from memory.
AUTO POWER ON Power up the PTV at the same time as the Cable Box
or other components.
Select CC for Closed Captioning display. Select OFF
CC MODE to display closed captioning when MUTE button is
pressed.
LANGUAGES Select English, Spanish, or French menu.
Adjustment may be required when the PTV is moved
CONVERGENCE ADJ because of the effects of the Earth's magnetic field on
the projection tubes.

Reset BASS, TREBLE and BALANCE to factory
AUDIO NORM default.
BASS Increase or decrease the bass response.
TREBLE Increase or decrease the treble response.
BALANCE Emphasize the left/right speaker volume.
Select the audio mode:
O STEREO - Two channel audio reception.
O SAP - (Second Audio Program} Tune to the
MODE alternate audio channel if available in your area
{bilingual or descriptive audio).
0 MONO - One channel audio. Use when stereo
signal is weak.
Ai SOUND Automatically maintain constant volume between
programs and commercials.
SURROUND Enhances audio response when listening to stereo.

Procedimiento
1. “Conecte el equipo como se muestra a la parte posterior de la entrada de Audio/Video.
2. Seleccione la Modalidad de Video presionartdo el botón de TVVIDEO.

Nota: La conexión de un enchufe opcional! S-VIDEO desconecta automáticamente el
enchufe normal de entrada de video. Use INPUT 1 Ry L para S-VIDEO conexión.

Conecte a la terminal de entrada del AMP (amplificador) de sonido externo para escuchar el sonido en
sistema estéreo,
Nota: Las terminales TO AUDIO AMP no pueden ser usadas directamente para bocinas

Ajustes de Sonido (Audio)
1 Seleccionar ALTAVOCES ON en el menú de SONIDO (AUDIO).
2. Ajuste el volumen del AMP (amplificador) al mínimo.
3. Ajuste el volumen de la Televisión al nivel deseado.
4. Ajuste el volumen del AMP hasta igualar el de la Televisión.
5 Seleccionar ALTAVOCES NOGVAO en el menú de SONIDO (AUDIO).
6. Ahora puede seleccionar el volumen, y el silencio, usando los controles de la Televisión. (El
bajos, el altos, y el balance por algunos modelos.)

Operacion de PIP (Imagen en la Imagen) con una Videocassetera y una Caja del

Esta Televisión tiene de característica de Imagen en la Imagen. Se requiere de una segunda fuente de
video (Videocassetera) para proveer una segunda imagen. Conecte su televisión ya se con o sin una daba
de televisión por cable, tal como se muestra debajo.
