Frequently asked questions

The TSL2572 EVM connects to your computer via a USB cable. When connected, a green LED on the motherboard should light up. If the LED does not light up, check the USB cable connections, unplug the USB cable and try again. If the LED still does not light, check the PC for USB error messages.

The TSL2572 EVM GUI has several tabs to provide access to different features.

  • The "Functional" tab allows for quick evaluation with nominal settings.
  • The "Register" tab allows for direct control of the registers of the device.
  • The "Plot" tab displays photodiode readings and calculated Lux vs time on a graph.
  • The "LuxEq" and "LuxEqPlot" tabs are used for developing a custom Lux equation.

To develop a custom Lux equation, use the "LuxEq" tab on the Input Side and the "LuxEqPlot" tab on the Output Side. Refer to Designer’s Notebook number 28 (DN28), “Developing a Custom Lux Equation,” for more information.
