LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY
REMOTE STARTERS:
As the manufacturer, Autostart Inc. warrants to the original consumer purchaser only (NON
TRANSFERABLE), that the remote starter module (control box) shall be free from defects in material
and workmanship, for as long as the original consumer purchaser continuously owns the vehicle the
remote starter was originally installed in, as specified below:
1)
For the first year after date of manufacture, as specified by the serial number on the module,
Autostart will replace the remote starter module free of charge with a new remote starter module.
2)
For the second year after date of manufacture, as specified by the serial number on the
module, Autostart will replace the remote starter module free of charge with a repaired or
refurbished remote starter module.
3)
For the third and any consecutive years after the date of manufacture, as specified by the
serial number on the module, Autostart will provide to the original consumer purchaser a
repaired or refurbished remote starter module, for a repair charge of $35.00.
In all cases, the consumer must return the remote starter module to the point of purchase, and must
provide an original proof of purchase to said retailer. A remote starter module will be returned to the
retailer for the consumer to claim within a 4 (four)-week period. For case 3), a check in the amount of
$35.00 must accompany the remote starter module, or the retailer may refuse the return.
ACCESSORIES:
Autostart Inc. warrants to the original consumer purchaser that it will replace any Autostart accessory
part for a one-year period from date of purchase. Accessories include all items that are not remote starter
modules (such as transmitters, sirens, LED, switch, etc.). Accessories will only be replaced if proven
defective in materials or workmanship, and if, when returned to point of purchase, the retailer is provided
with an original proof of purchase. The accessory will be returned to the retailer for the consumer to
claim within a 4 (four)-week period.
WARRANTY IS VOID IF:
1)
The product has been damaged, altered in any way, or tampered with, without
the explicit written consent of an Autostart technician. For remote starter
modules, this includes the opening or removal of the module’s plastic covering,
or the removal or alteration of the barcode label on the module’s plastic
covering.
2)
The product is damaged due to accident, fire, flood, shipping and handling,
misuse, neglect, or other conditions beyond the control of Autostart.
3)
The product has been installed or repaired by anyone other than an authorized
technician.
4)
The product has been improperly installed or used.
WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:
1)
Batteries.
2)
Scratched or worn transmitter cases.
3)
Installation and/or removal charges for all remote starter modules and
accessories.
4)
Shipping and handling charges incurred for product exchange or replacement.
5)
Any material damages other than to the product itself.
THIS LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY SHALL CONSTITUTE THE SOLE LIABILITY OF
AUTOSTART INC. FOR OUR PRODUCTS, AND IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES,
EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. NO PERSON, FIRM OR CORPORATION IS
AUTHORIZED TO ASSUME FOR AUTOSTART INC. ANY OTHER LIABILITY WITH RESPECT
TO THE SALE OR USE OF OUR PRODUCTS. AUTOSTART’S LIABILITY, WHETHER BASED
ON CONTRACT, TORT, WARRANTY, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER THEORY, SHALL
NOT EXCEED THE PRICE OF THE INDIVIDUAL UNIT WHOSE DEFECT FOR DAMAGE IS THE
BASIS OF THE CLAIM. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE WILL AUTOSTART INC., ITS
DISTRIBUTORS, OR THEIR AGENTS BEAR ANY LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR
INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.

AS-1565 USER GUIDE
BASIC REMOTE OPERATIONS
Your AS-1565 is equipped with a 5-button remote transmitter.
The functions of the transmitter are as follows:
LOCK
STOP
TRUNK
START
UNLOCK
REMOTE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE
To remote start your vehicle, ensure that the system is NOT in Valet Mode (If the
system is in Valet Mode, the LED will be ON), and then press the START button on
your remote transmitter for approx. 1 sec. The parking lights will come ON,
indicating that the unit has received your signal. Approx. 5 seconds later, the
engine will start. The parking lights will stay ON during the pre-programmed run
time.
If the vehicle doesn’t start the first time, the system will shut OFF, wait a few
seconds, and try to start the engine again. It will try to start the engine the amount
of programmed times (2, 3, or 4) before giving up.
DRIVING OFF
With the vehicle running under remote control, enter the vehicle and turn the key
to the ignition ON position (Do not turn the key to the START position with
the engine running. This will cause the starter motor to re-engage) and press
the brakes. You are now ready to drive off.

TURBO MODE (OFF by default)
PARKING LIGHT DIAGNOSTIC
When this option is programmed, the unit will always keep the vehicle running
for 60 sec after arming and locking the vehicle to complete ready-mode.
NOTE: The vehicle can be shut off by remote within the 60sec, if turbo idle
down is not required.
To activate TURBO MODE you must do the following:
1. With vehicle running and the doors closed, press LOCK UNLOCK or
START button on the transmitter until the Parking lights flash 3 times
then come on solid.
2. Remove the key and exit the vehicle.
3. Lock doors - Vehicle will stay running for 60sec.

VALET MODE

The system can be placed in Valet Mode to disable the remote starting
capabilities. If the vehicle needs to be serviced, or if you park it indoors, there
is no danger of accidentally starting the engine by remote control.

To put the system into Valet Mode, turn the key to the ignition ON position,
and press and hold the Valet switch for approx. 3 seconds. The LED will turn
ON, letting you know that it is now in Valet Mode.
To take the system out of Valet Mode, turn the key to the ignition ON
position, and press and hold the Valet Switch for 3 seconds. The LED will turn
OFF, letting you know that it is now out of Valet Mode.

COLD WEATHER MODE
Your Autostart can be set in Cold Weather Mode. When programmed, it will
start and run your engine every 2 hours for 4-minute intervals (gas engines) or
20-minute intervals (diesel engines), during a period of 24 hours.
To program Cold Weather Mode, press and hold the STOP button for approx.
5 seconds until the parking lights flash 3 times.
To exit Cold Weather Mode, do any of the following:
• Open the hood
• Start the vehicle by remote
• Turn the ignition ON
• Press and hold the STOP button for approximately 5 seconds.
NOTE: By pressing the brake, parking lights will flash once to let you know
that your are in Cold Weather Mode. You must program Cold Weather Mode
each time you want to use it.

SETTING THE UNIT INTO READY MODE
USER SELECTABLE OPTIONS
This UNIT is designed for MANUAL transmission only, therefore must be set
into READY-MODE in order to remote start the vehicle.
If the system is not in READY-MODE the vehicle CANNOT be started by
remote.
The AS-1565 was designed with flexibility and OEM integration in mind. With
the integration of the following options, this unit can single-handedly control
nearly any electrical system in your vehicle.
The user selectable options are as follows:
To set the system into READY-MODE you must do the following:

Ensure all the doors are closed
Make sure shifter is in neutral
Start vehicle with the key
Apply the Parking brake
Within 20sec. push any button on transmitter.
(Parking lights will flash 3 times quickly, and stay on)
Remove the key and vehicle will stay running.
Exit the vehicle and close the door.
Press and hold the LOCK button, the doors should lock and the vehicle
shuts off. Press and hold the STOP button, the vehicle should shut off and
the door should stay unlocked.
NOTE: If no button is pressed, the system will run for 15 minutes, shut off
and stay in READY-MODE without locking the doors.
REMAINING IN READY MODE
Once the vehicle is in Ready Mode you can start and stop the vehicle at will.
However, should any of the following occur, the vehicle will exit Ready Mode
thus eliminating the remote start option until Ready Mode is restored.
1. Doors opened.
2. Hood opened.
3. Brakes pressed.
4. Parking brake disengaged.
5. Key turned to the on position.
Should any of the above occur, ready mode will be cancelled.
NOTE: The programming of your system should be left to a professional.
Changing any of the settings may effect the operation of your AS-1565.
REMOTE DOOR LOCKS OPTION
If your AS-1565 was installed with the Remote Door Locks option, you will have
the convenience of remote keyless entry.
To UNLOCK your doors, press and hold the UNLOCK button for approx. 1 sec.
The parking lights will flash twice to confirm that the doors have been unlocked.
(If your system was installed with the Starter Disable option, this will also disarm
the system).
To LOCK your doors, press and hold the LOCK button for approx. 1 sec. The
parking lights will flash once to confirm that the doors have been locked. (If your
system was installed with the Starter Disable option, this will also arm the
system).
IGNITION CONTROLLED DOOR LOCKS OPTION
This is an added security feature. If your system was installed with the Ignition
Controlled Door Locks option, the doors will automatically be locked as soon as
the key is turned to the ignition ON position, and you press the brakes. When the
key us turned to the ignition OFF position, the doors will automatically be
unlocked.
SECURE LOCK OPTION
*NOTE: The unit will notify the user that it has exited Ready Mode by
giving three slow flashes of the vehicles parking lights.

This is an added security feature. If your Autostart was installed with the Secure
Lock option, it will automatically lock your doors 4 seconds after your start your
car by remote.

REMOTE TRUNK RELEASE OPTION
STARTER DISABLE OPTION
If your system was installed with the Remote Trunk Release, you can open
your trunk by pressing the TRUNK button for 2 sec. on the remote transmitter.
This added security feature will immobilize your vehicle when the system is
armed. If your Autostart was installed with the Starter Disable option, you will not
be able to start your vehicle with the key unless the system has been disarmed
first.
SWAP START (OFF by Default)
AS-1565 has a new programmable OPTION, which is the SWAP START in
MODE 2- FUNCTION 1 OPTION 3. This 2-button start feature is added for
extra security and helps avoid accidentally starting the vehicle by remote. If
the SWAP START is enable, AUX 2 becomes the START button.
SAFE START (Child safety mode)
OFF by default. When programmed this feature will require that the user press
the start button on the remote transmitter 2 times within 3 sec. to start the
vehicle. This will eliminate accidental remote starts, when the transmitter is
being entertained by the kids.
The Starter Disable option can be programmed to be ACTIVE (will not arm
automatically) or PASSIVE (will arm automatically). In PASSIVE Mode, you can
program it to arm automatically in 1 or 3 minutes.
To DISARM the Starter Disable option in ACTIVE or PASSIVE Mode, press and
hold the UNLOCK button on the transmitter. The parking lights will flash twice.
(If door locks were installed, this will also unlock the doors). In PASSIVE Mode,
the system will automatically re-arm itself 1 or 3 minutes after unlocking the
doors, if the key has not yet been inserted in the ignition.
To ARM the Starter Disable option in ACTIVE or PASSIVE Mode, press and hold
the LOCK button on the transmitter. The parking lights will flash once. (If the
door locks were installed, this will also lock the doors). In PASSIVE Mode, the
system will automatically arm itself in 1 or 3 minutes after the engine has been
turned off.
HOME VALET MODE
OFF by default. This amazing safety feature will allow the user to remotely
place the system into a no start mode, so if the vehicle is parked indoors there
is no danger of the vehicle starting on it’s own. To activate Home Valet Mode
the user has simply to press on the LOCK button and within 3 seconds press
on the STOP button. Once activated the vehicle will not start by remote until
the key is turned to the ignition position.
ENGINE RUN TIME
If you have a gas engine, your AS-1565 can be programmed to run the engine for
4, 15, or 25 minutes (15 minutes by default). If you have a diesel engine, it can be
programmed to run the engine for 9, 20, or 30 minutes (20 minutes by default).
MULTI-CAR OPERATION.
AUX 2 – REMOTE OR TIME CONTROLED OUTPUT
The auxiliary 2 output can be used for many different applications. The output
can be programmed to give continuous output + 1second, when remote Lock
& Unlock are pressed simultaneously. Or it can be toggled ON and OFF with a
30second timeout, or toggle ON & OFF with a 60 second timeout. This means
that when the buttons are pressed AUX 2 will output ground for 30 or 60
seconds or until the buttons are pressed again to shut off the output. This
feature can be used to control a siren (PANIC MODE) or it can turn on the
headlights (HEADLIGHT ILLUMINATION) the timer can also roll up the
windows on some vehicles without any external window module.
(Volkswagen, BMW, etc.)

This options allows the owner of two vehicles, both equipped with AS-1565
systems, to control the 2 systems with only one remote transmitter.
To control the 2nd vehicle, simultaneously press the TRUNK button and the button
of the function you wish to use.
To open the trunk of the 2nd vehicle by remote, simultaneously press the TRUNK,
LOCK & UNLOCK buttons on the remote transmitter.
