A moulded plug complying with BS1363 is fitted to this equipment for your safety and convenience.

Should the fuse in the plug supplied need to be replaced, a 5 AMP fuse approved by

ASTA or BSI to BS 1362 (i.e. marked with or ) must be used.

When an alternative type of plug is used it should be fitted with a 5 AMP FUSE, otherwise the circuit should be protected by a 5 AMP FUSE at the distribution board.

If the plug supplied with this equipment has a detachable fuse cover, be sure to attach the fuse cover after you change the fuse. Never use the plug without the fuse cover.

If you should lose the fuse cover, please contact your nearest Sony service station.

How to replace the fuse

Open the fuse compartment with a blade screwdriver, and replace the fuse.

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this apparatus may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:

The wire which is coloured green-and-yellow must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked by the letter E or by the safety earth symbol I or coloured green or green-and-yellow. The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black. The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.

WARNING

• To prevent the risk of electric shock, do not insert the plug cut off from the mains lead into a socket outlet. This plug cannot be used and should be destroyed.

• To prevent the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose the unit to rain or moisture.

• Dangerously high voltages are present inside the unit. Do not open the cabinet.

Refer servicing to qualified personnel only.

Safety Information

This set is to operate on a 220-

240V AC supply only. Take care not to connect too many appliances to the same power socket as this could result in fire or electric shock.

For environmental and safety reasons, it is recommended that the TV set is not left in standby mode when not in use. Disconnect from the mains.

Never push objects of any kind into the set as this could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the set. If any liquid or solid object does fall through, do not operate the TV. Have it checked immediately by qualified personnel.

To prevent electric shock, do not open the cabinet and the rear cover of the TV. Refer to qualified service personnel only.

For your own safety, do not touch any part of the TV, power lead or aerial lead during lightning storms.

To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose the TV to rain, moisture or smoke. Do not use the TV where insects may enter.

Do not cover the ventilation openings of the TV. For ventilation, leave a space of at least 10 cm all around the set.

Never place the TV in hot, humid or excessively dusty places. Do not install the TV where it may be exposed to mechanical vibrations.

To prevent fire, keep inflammable objects or naked lights (e.g., candles) away from the TV.

Clean the TV with a soft, slightly dampened cloth. Do not use benzine, thinner or any other chemicals to clean the TV. Do not scratch the TV screen. As a safety precaution, unplug the TV before cleaning it.

Pull out the power lead by the plug. Do not pull on the power lead itself.

Take care not to place heavy objects on the power lead as this could result in damage.

Place the TV on a secure stable stand. Do not allow children to climb on to it. Do not place the TV on its side or face up.

Unplug the power lead before moving the TV. Avoid uneven surfaces, quick steps or excessive force. If the set has been dropped or damaged, have it checked immediately by qualified service personnel.

Do not cover the ventilation openings of the TV with items such as curtains or newspapers, etc.

Additional Safety Information

LCD screen

• Although the LCD screen is made with high-precision technology and has effective pixels of 99.99 % or more, black dots may appear or bright points of light

(red, blue, or green) may appear constantly on the LCD screen. This is a structural property of the LCD panel and is not a malfunction.

• Do not expose the LCD screen surface to the sun. Doing so may damage the screen surface.

• Do not push or scratch the front filter, or place objects on top of the TV. The image may be uneven or the LCD panel may be damaged.

• If the TV is used in a cold place, a smear may occur in the picture or the picture may become dark. This does not indicate a failure. These phenomena improve as the temperature rises.

• Ghosting may occur when still pictures are displayed continuously. It may disappear after a few moments.

• The screen and cabinet get warm when the TV is in use. This is not a malfunction.

Fluorescent lamp

This TV uses a special fluorescent lamp as its light source. If the screen image becomes dark, flickers, or does not appear, the fluorescent lamp has run down and should be replaced. For replacement, consult qualified service personnel.

Cleaning the screen surface

The screen surface is finished with a special coating to prevent strong light reflections. Be sure to observe the following precautions to avoid damaging the finish.

• To remove dust from the screen surface, wipe gently with the supplied cleaning cloth.

If dust is persistent, wipe with the cleaning cloth slightly moistened with a diluted mild detergent solution. You can wash and repeatedly use the cleaning cloth.

• Never use any type of abrasive pad, alkaline/acid cleaner, scouring powder or strong solvent such as alcohol, benzene or thinner.

Carrying the TV

• Before carrying the TV, disconnect all the cables from the TV. If it drops, a serious injury may result.

• When you carry the TV for repair or moving, pack it using the original carton and packing material.

• When you carry the TV by hand hold it at the top and bottom. Do not hold the rear cover only.

Remove the rear cover

Before connecting an aerial and cables, remove the cover at the rear of your TV.

Replace the cover after all the connections are complete.

Hold the rear cover as illustrated, and align the four projections on the rear cover with the hook holes on the TV.

(The rear cover may protrude from the

TV by about 10 mm.)

• When you carry the TV, do not hold the rear cover only, as the rear cover can easily come off.

To watch the picture of the connected component, press t on the remote repeatedly until the correct input symbol appears on the screen.

Auto shut off function

After 15 minutes without a signal and without any button being pressed, the TV switches automatically into standby mode.

Enjoying teletext

VIDEO TV

Teletext is an information service transmitted by most TV stations. The index page of the teletext service

(usually page 100) gives you information on how to use the service.

• Make sure you use a channel (TV broadcast) with a strong signal, otherwise teletext errors may occur.

Select the channel (TV broadcast) which carries the teletext you wish to view, and press /.

To reveal concealed information (e.g., anwser to a quiz)

Press / . Press it again to conceal the information.

To switch off teletext

Press a.

Fastext

Fastest service lets you access pages with one button push.

While you are in teletext mode and Fastext is broadcast, a colour coded menu appears at the bottom of the teletext page. Press the colour button (red, green, yellow or blue) to access the corresponding page.

The supplied remote is set to operate Sony DVDs and most Sony VCRs. To control the VCRs and DVDs of other brands and certain Sony VCR models, set up the remote as follows.

(1) Press Media Selector repeatedly until the VCR or

DVD green light lights.

Note

• If Media Selector is in the TV position, code numbers will not be stored.

(2) Before the green light goes out, press and hold the yellow button for approximately six seconds until the green light starts flashing.

(3) While the green light is flashing, enter the three digits of the code for your brand

(see the list below) using the number buttons.

If you entered the code correctly, all three green lights will light momentarily.

(4) Turn on your VCR or DVD and check that the main functions work.

Notes

• If your equipment is not working or some of the functions do not work, check you entered the code correctly, or try the next code listed for the brand.

• Your brand codes may be lost if the batteries are weak. To reset your DVD or VCR code number, repeat the above steps. A small label is attached inside the battery compartment lid to allow you to record your brand codes.

• Not all brands are covered and not all models of every brand may be covered.

To fine tune a programme

Normally “AFT: ON” gives the best possible picture. However, you may manually fine tune the programme if the picture is distorted with “AFT: ON.”

While watching the programme, display the “MANUAL SET-UP” menu and select “AFT.” Then press B or b to fine tune between -15 and +15 until the best possible picture is obtained.

Note

• If you perform “SEARCH” after fine tuning, “AFT” is automatically reset to “ON.”

To name the preset channel

You can name the preset channel using up to five characters (letters or numbers, e.g., BBC).

(1) Select the programme number with the preset channel you want to name on the “MANUAL SET-UP” menu.

Skipping unwanted or unused channels (“SKIP”)

After performing automatic channel presetting, you can disable unwanted or unused channels.

Possible remedies

• Check the AC cable, aerial and the VCR connections (pages 7 and 8).

• Press TV I/1 on the remote (page 12).

• Press I/1 on the TV to turn off the TV for about five seconds, then turn it on again (page 12).

• Press 2 + to increase the volume level (page 13).

• Press % to cancel the muting (page 13).

• Check the aerial cable and connection on the TV,

VCR and on the wall (page 7).

• Check the aerial type (VHF/UHF). Contact a Sony dealer for advice.

• Adjust the aerial direction. Contact a Sony dealer for advice.

• Try using a booster, as signal transmission may be low.

• Display the “SET-UP” menu and select

“MANUAL SET-UP” to preset the channel again

(page 22).

• Turn off or disconnect the booster if it is in use, as broadcast signals may be too strong.

• If the sound of all the channels are noisy, display the “SET-UP” menu and select “AUTO SET-UP” to preset the channels again (page 21).

• If the sound of some channels is noisy, select the channel, then display the “SET-UP” menu and select the appropriate TV system (“SYSTEM”)

(page 22).

• Do not use a hair dryer or other interference sources near the TV.

• Adjust the aerial direction for minimum interference. Contact a Sony dealer for advice.

• Use a highly directional aerial.


• Turn off or disconnect the booster if it is in use, as the booster may be inappropriate.

• Display the “SOUND” menu and check the

“DUAL SOUND” setting (page 19).

• Check the aerial cable and connection on the TV,

VCR and on the wall (page 7).


• Display the “SOUND” menu and change the

“DUAL SOUND” setting for the optimal sound

(page 19).

• Some shooting games which involve pointing a light beam at the TV screen with an electronic gun or rifle cannot be used with your TV. For detail, see the instruction manual supplied with the video game software.

• Changes in room temperature sometimes make the TV cabinet expand or contract, causing a noise. This does not indicate a malfunction.

• This is the same static discharge that is felt when touching metal door handles or car doors especially when the air is dry, for example in winter. This does not indicate a malfunction.

LCD-Bildschirm

• Der LCD-Bildschirm wird in einer Hochpräzisionstechnologie hergestellt und der

Anteil der effektiven Bildpunkte liegt bei über 99,99 %. Dennoch können schwarze

Punkte oder helle Lichtpunkte (rot, blau oder grün) permanent auf dem LCD-

Bildschirm zu sehen sein. Dies ist eine spezifische Eigenschaft von LCD-

Bildschirmen. Es handelt sich dabei nicht um eine Fehlfunktion.

• Setzen Sie den LCD-Bildschirm nicht der Sonne aus. Andernfalls kann der

Bildschirm beschädigt werden.

• Stoßen Sie nicht gegen den Filter an der Vorderseite und zerkratzen Sie ihn nicht.

Stellen Sie nichts auf das Fernsehgerät. Andernfalls kann das Bild unscharf werden oder der LCD-Bildschirm kann beschädigt werden.

• In kalter Umgebung können Schmiereffekte auftreten oder das Fernsehbild ist möglicherweise sehr dunkel. Dies ist keine Fehlfunktion. Diese Phänomene verschwinden bei höheren Temperaturen wieder.

• Wenn längere Zeit ein Standbild angezeigt wird, kann es zu Nachbildern kommen. Diese verschwinden in der Regel nach wenigen Augenblicken wieder.

• Bildschirm und Gehäuse erwärmen sich, wenn das Gerät in Betrieb ist. Dies ist keine Fehlfunktion.

Leuchtstoffröhre

Bei diesem Fernsehgerät wird eine spezielle Leuchtstoffröhre als Lichtquelle eingesetzt. Wenn die Anzeige auf dem Bildschirm dunkel wird, flimmert oder gar nicht mehr erscheint, muss die Leuchtstoffröhre gegen eine neue ausgetauscht werden. Lassen Sie die Leuchtstoffröhre von qualifiziertem Fachpersonal austauschen.

Reinigen der Bildschirmoberfläche

Die Bildschirmoberfläche ist mit einer speziellen Beschichtung versehen, um starke

Lichtreflexionen zu vermeiden. Beachten Sie unbedingt folgende

Sicherheitsmaßnahmen, damit die Beschichtung nicht beschädigt wird.

• Wenn die Bildschirmoberfläche verstaubt ist, reinigen Sie sie vorsichtig mit dem mitgelieferten Reinigungstuch.

Bei hartnäckigen Verschmutzungen können Sie das Tuch leicht mit einer milden, mit Wasser verdünnten Reinigungslösung anfeuchten. Das Reinigungstuch lässt sich waschen und mehrfach wiederverwenden.

• Verwenden Sie keine Scheuerschwämme, Alkali- bzw. säurehaltigen Reiniger,

Scheuermittel oder Lösungsmittel wie Alkohol, Benzin oder Verdünnung.

Transportieren des Fernsehgeräts

• Wenn Sie das Fernsehgerät transportieren müssen, lösen

Sie zunächst alle Kabel vom Fernsehgerät. Wenn das

Fernsehgerät fallengelassen wird, besteht die Gefahr schwerer Verletzungen.

• Wenn Sie das Fernsehgerät zum Zwecke einer Reparatur oder eines Umzugs transportieren müssen, verpacken Sie das Fernsehgerät mithilfe der

Originalverpackungsmaterialien im Originalkarton.

• Halten Sie das Fernsehgerät zum Tragen an der Oberund Unterkante fest. Fassen Sie es nicht allein an der hinteren Abdeckung.

Bevor Sie eine Antenne und Kabel anschließen können, müssen Sie die Abdeckung an der Rückseite des Fernsehgeräts abnehmen. Bringen Sie die Abdeckung wieder an, sobald Sie alle Anschlüsse vorgenommen haben.

(1) Drücken Sie die Medienauswahltaste, bis die grüne VCR-(Videorecorder) bzw.

DVD-Anzeige aufleuchtet.

Hinweis

• Wenn sich die Medienauswahltaste in der Position für das Fernsehgerät befindet, lassen sich keine Codenummern speichern.

(2) Drücken Sie die gelbe Taste, bevor die grüne Anzeige erlischt, und halten Sie sie etwa sechs Sekunden lang gedrückt, bis die grüne Anzeige anfängt zu blinken.

(3) Wenn die grüne Anzeige blinkt, geben Sie die dreistellige Codenummer für den jeweiligen Hersteller (siehe Liste unten) über die Zahlentasten ein.

Wenn Sie den Code korrekt eingegeben haben, leuchten alle drei grünen Anzeigen kurz auf.

(4) Schalten Sie den Videorecorder bzw. den DVD-Player ein und überprüfen Sie, ob die wichtigsten Funktionen über die Fernbedienung ausgeführt werden können.

Hinweise

• Wenn Sie ein angeschlossenes Gerät nicht mit der Fernbedienung steuern oder einzelne

Funktionen nicht ausführen können, überprüfen Sie, ob Sie die richtige Codenummer eingegeben haben. Versuchen Sie es gegebenenfalls mit der nächsten Codenummer, die für den Hersteller aufgeführt ist.

• Die für den Hersteller eingestellten Codenummern werden möglicherweise gelöscht, wenn die

Batterien schwach sind. Gehen Sie wie oben erläutert vor, um die Codenummer für den Hersteller des

DVD-Players bzw. Videorecorders erneut einzugeben. An der Innenseite des Batteriefachdeckels finden Sie einen kleinen Aufkleber, in den Sie die Codenummern eintragen können.

• Es werden nicht alle Hersteller und auch nicht unbedingt alle Modelle der einzelnen

Hersteller unterstützt.

Sie “MONO”. Der Empfang ist nun monaural, aber das Störrauschen wird verringert.

So nehmen Sie eine Feineinstellung eines Senders vor

Normalerweise erzielen Sie mit “AFT: AN” das bestmögliche Bild.

Sie können den Sender jedoch auch fein einstellen, wenn das Bild trotz “AFT: AN” verzerrt ist.

Stellen Sie den Sender ein, rufen Sie das Menü “MANUELLE

SPEICHERUNG” auf und wählen Sie “AFT”. Stellen Sie dann mit B oder b einen Wert zwischen -15 und +15 ein. Wählen Sie die

Einstellung, bei der das bestmögliche Bild erzielt wird.

Hinweis

• Wenn Sie nach der Feineinstellung die Funktion “SUCHE” ausführen, wird “AFT” automatisch auf “AN” zurückgesetzt.

So benennen Sie gespeicherte Sender

Sie können jedem gespeicherten Sender einen Namen mit bis zu fünf

Zeichen zuweisen (Zahlen oder Buchstaben, zum Beispiel BBC).

Programmnummer des gespeicherten Senders aus, für den Sie einen Namen eingeben wollen.

Wenn an Ihrem Fernsehgerät eine Störung auftritt, versuchen Sie bitte zunächst, diese anhand der folgenden Checkliste zu beheben. Sollte die Störung bestehen bleiben, wenden Sie sich an Ihren Sony-Händler.

• Überprüfen Sie, ob das Netzkabel, die Antennen und der

• Schalten Sie das Fernsehgerät mit I/1 am Fernsehgerät aus und nach etwa fünf Sekunden wieder ein (Seite 12).

Kein Ton

• Erhöhen Sie die Lautstärke mit 2 + (Seite 13).

• Deaktivieren Sie mit % die Stummschaltung (Seite 13).

Schlechtes Bild/schlechter Ton

• Überprüfen Sie, ob das Antennenkabel in Ordnung ist und fest in die Anschlüsse am Fernsehgerät, am Videorecorder sowie in die Antennenwandbuchse eingesteckt ist (Seite 7).

• Überprüfen Sie den Antennentyp (VHF/UHF).

Informationen hierzu erhalten Sie bei Ihrem Sony-Händler.

• Richten Sie die Antenne neu aus. Informationen hierzu erhalten Sie bei Ihrem Sony-Händler.

• Möglicherweise ist das Signal zu schwach. Verwenden Sie in diesem Fall einen Antennenverstärker.

• Rufen Sie das Menü “EINSTELLUNGEN” auf, wählen Sie

“MANUELLE SPEICHERUNG” und speichern Sie den

Sender erneut (Seite 22).

• Möglicherweise ist das Signal zu stark, wenn Sie einen

Antennenverstärker verwenden. Schalten Sie ihn aus oder trennen Sie ihn ab.

Gutes Bild, aber gestörter Ton

• Wenn der Ton bei allen Sendern gestört ist, rufen Sie das

Menü “EINSTELLUNGEN” auf. Wählen Sie “AUTOM.

SPEICH.” und speichern Sie die Sender erneut (Seite 21).

• Wenn der Ton nur bei bestimmten Sendern gestört ist, wählen Sie den Sender aus. Rufen Sie dann das Menü

“EINSTELLUNGEN” auf und wählen Sie die richtige

Fernsehnorm (“SYSTEM”) aus (Seite 22).

Gepunktete Linien oder Streifen

• Verwenden Sie keine Quellen von Störstrahlung, wie zum

Beispiel einen Fön, in der Nähe des Fernsehgeräts.

• Richten Sie die Antenne so aus, dass die Störstrahlung möglichst gering ist. Informationen hierzu erhalten Sie bei

Ihrem Sony-Händler.

Doppelbilder oder Nachbilder

• Verwenden Sie eine Antenne mit starker Richtwirkung.


• Möglicherweise ist der Antennenverstärker nicht geeignet.

Mögliche Abhilfemaßnahmen

• Rufen Sie das Menü “BILD” auf und stellen Sie den Wert für “FARBE” ein (Seite 17).


• Hierbei handelt es sich um Störstrahlung externer

Quellen, wie zum Beispiel großer Maschinen oder eines nahe gelegenen Senders. Halten Sie das

Fernsehgerät von Quellen von Störstrahlung fern.

Probleme mit dem Stereo-/Zweikanalton

Das Fernsehgerät empfängt keine

Stereosignale.

• Rufen Sie das Menü “TON” auf und überprüfen

Sie die Einstellung für “ZWEITON” (Seite 19).

Der Stereoton schaltet sich ein und wieder aus oder ist verzerrt oder der

Ton wechselt häufig zwischen stereo und monaural.

• Überprüfen Sie, ob das Antennenkabel in

Ordnung ist und fest in die Anschlüsse am

Fernsehgerät, am Videorecorder sowie in die

Antennenwandbuchse eingesteckt ist (Seite 7).


• Rufen Sie das Menü “TON” auf und ändern Sie die Einstellung für “ZWEITON”, so dass Sie einen möglichst guten Ton erzielen (Seite 19).

Shoot’em up-Spiele lassen sich nicht spielen.

Das Gehäuse des Fernsehgeräts knackt.

• Bestimmte Shoot’em up-Spiele, bei denen ein

Lichtstrahl von einer elektronischen Waffe auf den

Fernsehschirm gerichtet wird, können bei diesem

Gerät nicht verwendet werden. Nähere

Informationen finden Sie in der mit der

Videospielsoftware gelieferten Anleitung.

• Schwankungen in der Raumtemperatur können dazu führen, dass sich das Gehäuse des

Fernsehgeräts ausdehnt bzw. zusammenzieht und ein Knacken zu hören ist. Dies ist keine

Fehlfunktion.

Wenn Sie das Gehäuse des

Fernsehgeräts berühren, kommt es zu einer Entladung statischer Elektrizität.

• Hierbei handelt es sich um das gleiche Phänomen, das bei Berührung eines metallenen Türgriffs oder

Autotürgriffs auftreten kann, und zwar besonders bei trockener Luft, wie zum Beispiel im Winter.

Dies ist keine Fehlfunktion.

Pour des raisons de sécurité et de respect de l’environnement, il est recommandé de ne pas laisser le téléviseur en mode de veille lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé.

Débrancher l’appareil de la prise secteur.

Ne jamais faire pénétrer d’objets de quelque sorte que ce soit dans l’appareil, car cela entraînerait un risque d’incendie ou d’électrocution. Ne jamais renverser de liquides d’aucune sorte sur l’appareil.

Si du liquide ou un objet pénètre dans le boîtier, ne pas faire fonctionner le téléviseur. Le faire vérifier immédiatement par un technicien qualifié.

Pour éviter les risques d’électrocution, ne pas ouvrir le boîtier ni le panneau arrière du téléviseur. Confier la réparation de l’appareil à un personnel qualifié uniquement.

Par mesure de sécurité, ne toucher aucun point du téléviseur, du cordon d’alimentation ou du câble d’antenne pendant un orage.

Pour prévenir les risques d’incendie ou d’électrocution, tenir le téléviseur à l’abri de la pluie, de l’humidité et de la fumée.

Ne pas utiliser le téléviseur dans un endroit où des insectes pourraient entrer.

Ne pas couvrir les orifices de ventilation du téléviseur. Afin de permettre une ventilation adéquate, laisser un espace d’au moins 10 cm tout autour de l’appareil.

Ne jamais placer le téléviseur dans un endroit excessivement chaud, humide ou poussiéreux. Ne pas installer le téléviseur dans un endroit où il pourrait être exposé à des vibrations mécaniques.

Pour éviter les risques d’incendie, tenir le téléviseur à l’écart d’objets inflammables et de flammes nues, par exemple, celle d’une bougie.

Nettoyer le téléviseur avec un chiffon doux légèrement humide.

Pour le nettoyage du téléviseur, ne pas utiliser de benzine, de diluant, ni aucun autre produit chimique.

Débrancher le cordon d’alimentation en tirant sur la fiche. Ne pas tirer sur le cordon d’alimentation lui-même.

Débrancher le cordon d’alimentation avant de déplacer le téléviseur. Eviter de faire des pas trop rapides, de transporter le téléviseur sur des surfaces irrégulières et d’appliquer une force trop importante au téléviseur. Si l’appareil est tombé ou a

été endommagé, le faire vérifier immédiatement par un technicien de service après-vente qualifié.

Ne pas couvrir les orifices de ventilation du téléviseur avec des objets tels que des rideaux, des journaux ou autres.

Informations de sécurité complémentaires

Ecran LCD

• Bien que l’écran LCD soit le fruit d’une technologie de haute précision et que

99,99 % ou plus de ses pixels soient efficaces, des points noirs ou des points lumineux (rouges, bleus ou verts) peuvent apparaître en permanence sur l’écran

LCD. Ceci est une propriété structurelle du panneau LCD et ne constitue pas un problème de fonctionnement.

• Ne pas exposer la surface de l’écran LCD à la lumière directe du soleil. Cela pourrait endommager la surface de l’écran.

• N’appuyez pas sur le filtre avant, ne l’égratignez pas et ne placez pas d’objets sur le téléviseur. L’image pourrait être instable ou le panneau LCD être endommagé.

• Si le téléviseur est utilisé dans un environnement froid, l’image peut apparaître sale ou sombre. Ceci n’est pas le signe d’un problème de fonctionnement. Ce phénomène disparaît au fur et à mesure que la température augmente.

• Une image rémanente peut apparaître lorsque des images fixes sont affichées en continu. Elle peut disparaître au bout d’un certain temps.

• L’écran et le boîtier se réchauffent lorsque le téléviseur est en cours d’utilisation.

Ceci n’a rien d’anormal.

Lampe fluorescente

Ce téléviseur utilise une lampe fluorescente spéciale comme source lumineuse. Si l’image à l’écran devient sombre, tremblote ou ne s’affiche pas, la lampe fluorescente est usée et doit être remplacée. Pour le remplacement de la lampe fluorescente, contactez un technicien de service après-vente qualifié.

Nettoyage de la surface de l’écran

La surface de l’écran est recouverte d’un enduit spécial destiné à prévenir l’éblouissement par des reflets lumineux. Veillez à respecter les précautions suivantes pour éviter de l’endommager le fini.

• Pour éliminer la poussière de la surface de l’écran, essuyez-le doucement avec le chiffon de nettoyage fourni.

Si la poussière est difficile à éliminer, essuyez la surface de l’écran avec le chiffon de nettoyage légèrement humidifié d’un détergent neutre dilué. Vous pouvez laver le chiffon de nettoyage et le réutiliser.

• N’utilisez pas de tampons abrasifs, de nettoyant basique ou acide, de poudre à récurer, ni de solvant puissant tel que de l’alcool, de la benzine ou un diluant.

Transport du téléviseur

• Avant de transporter le téléviseur, débranchez tous les câbles du téléviseur. Si le téléviseur tombe, il peut entraîner des blessures graves.

• Lors du transport du téléviseur pour la réparation ou lors d’un déménagement, emballez-le dans le carton et les matériaux d’emballage d’origine.

• Lorsque vous transportez le téléviseur à la main, maintenez-le par le haut et le bas. Ne tenez pas uniquement le panneau arrière.

Avant de raccorder une antenne et des câbles, retirez le panneau à l’arrière de votre téléviseur. Remettez le panneau en place lorsque tous les raccordements ont été effectués.

Normalement, “AFT: ACTIVÉ” offre la meilleure image possible, cependant, si l’image est déformée, il est possible d’affiner manuellement le réglage de la chaîne avec “AFT: ACTIVÉ”.

Lors du visionnage de la chaîne, affichez le menu “RÉGLAGE

MANUEL”, puis sélectionnez “AFT”. Appuyez ensuite sur B ou b pour affiner le réglage entre

15 et +15 afin d’obtenir la meilleure image possible.

AUTOMATIQUE” pour prérégler de nouveau les canaux (page 21).

• Si le son de certains canaux seulement est parasité, sélectionnez le canal puis affichez le menu

“RÉGLAGE” et sélectionnez la norme de télévision appropriée (“NORME”) (page 22).

• N’utilisez pas un sèche-cheveux ni aucun autre appareil pouvant entraîner des interférences à proximité du téléviseur.

• Réglez la direction de l’antenne pour réduire les interférences. Demandez conseil à votre revendeur Sony.

• Utilisez une antenne de grande précision.

• Des sources extérieures à proximité, telles que des machines lourdes ou une station de diffusion, produisent des interférences. Maintenez le téléviseur à distance des sources d’interférences.

Problèmes relatifs au son stéréo ou bilingue

Le téléviseur ne peut pas capter de signal diffusé en stéréo.

• Affichez le menu “SON” et vérifiez le réglage

“DOUBLE SON” (page 19).

Le son émis en stéréo est instable ou déformé ou le son passe fréquemment du mode stéréo au mode mono.

Impossible de jouer à des jeux de tir.

• Vérifiez le câble d’antenne et ses raccordements au téléviseur, au magnétoscope et à la prise murale (page 7).


• Affichez le menu “SON” et modifiez le réglage de

“DOUBLE SON” pour obtenir le meilleur son possible (page 19).

• Certains jeux de tir pour lesquels il faut pointer un rayon lumineux vers l’écran du téléviseur avec un fusil ou un pistolet électronique ne peuvent pas

être utilisés avec ce téléviseur. Pour plus de détails, reportez-vous au mode d’emploi fourni avec le logiciel du jeu vidéo.

Le boîtier du téléviseur émet des craquements.

Une décharge d’électricité statique se produit lorsque vous touchez le boîtier du téléviseur.

• Les changements de température dans la pièce peuvent entraîner la dilatation ou la contraction du boîtier du téléviseur, ce qui entraîne des bruits.

Ceci n’est pas le signe d’un problème de fonctionnement.

• C’est le même type de décharge que celles que vous pouvez parfois recevoir en touchant une poignée de porte en métal ou une portière de voiture, en particulier lorsque l’air est sec, par exemple en hiver. Ceci n’est pas le signe d’un problème de fonctionnement.
