Aura AURA is a smart home security system that lets you arm and disarm your home, receive motion alerts, and view a live feed of your home from anywhere. It also works with IFTTT so you can customize your smarthome automations. With Aura, you can:
- Arm and disarm your system manually or automatically based on your presence
- Receive push notifications when motion is detected
- See a live feed of your home when motion is detected
- Sound the alarm, place a call, or dismiss the alert when motion is detected
- Add and remove household members with different permission levels
- View a timeline of activity in your home

Getting Started
1. DOWNLOAD THE APP
Visit the App Store, Google Play, or to download the Aura Home app on your iOS or
Android smartphone.
2. CREATE AN ACCOUNT
Launch the app and create an account or enter your login details.
3. FOLLOW THE IN-APP INSTRUCTIONS
The Aura app will walk you through step-by-step instructions to set up your Hub and Sensor.
Smartphone Requirements
• Your smartphone must be running iOS v9.3 or Android v4.4 or higher.
Wi-Fi Network Requirements
• Wi-Fi broadcasting at 2.4GHz or 5.8GHz (802.11 b/g/n)
• Your network name (SSID) is not hidden

Arming and Disarming
Aura provides two options for arming and disarming the system:
• MANUAL
(DEFAULT)
The user must select the arm/disarm button in the app.
• AUTOMATIC
(ENABLE IN SETTINGS)
Aura automatically arms and disarms based on the presence of members in the home.
Enhanced Privacy
When disarmed and Enhanced Privacy is enabled, motion activity and member presence will be disabled. Enhanced
Privacy can be enabled in Settings.
Disarmed
When disarmed, Aura will monitor the motion activity in your home but will not send notifications.
Exit Timer
Aura will manually arm after a
30 second countdown. The countdown can be modified in Settings.
Armed
When armed, Aura will send your app a push notification to alert you of motion. The alert will include Live Motion and options to take action.

Motion
There are 3 ways to view motion in your home:
12 Hour
Motion activity in your home over the past 12 hours.
Live View
Current motion activity in your home.
Weekly
The past seven days of motion activity.

Motion Detected
• MOTION ALERT
When Aura is armed and motion is detected, you will receive a push notification Motion Alert.
• LIVE MOTION
See a 3 minute snapshot of the motion in your home once motion was detected.
TAKE ACTION
Sound Alarm
By default, an alarm will sound automatically for 2 minutes. Disable the alarm from this screen or go to Settings to change default behavior.
Place Call
On Android smartphones, connect directly to your phone to place a call. On iOS you need to leave the
Aura app and go to your phone app.
Dismiss
Marks the Alert as viewed

Status Bar
The status bar will change to keep you informed of certain activities.
GREEN: Armed and ok
PINK: Motion Alert
GREY: Disarmed
ORANGE: Check aurahome.com/support

Members
Manage access to your home through Aura by adding and deleting
Members. There are three permission levels for Members:
Owner
• Add, edit, or delete any registered household member
• Set the auto arm/disarm functionality for the household
• Remove Aura from the account
• Arm/Disarm Aura
• View all household activity
Admin
• Add, edit, or delete any registered household member
• Arm/Disarm Aura
• View all household activity
Member
• View household members
• Arm/Disarm Aura
• View all household activity

Timeline
See a timeline of activity in your home. Activities that will appear in the timeline are listed to the right:
• Household member enters
• Household member exits
• Aura was armed + associated household member
• Aura was disarmed + associated household member
• Motion was detected
• Smoke alarm was detected
• Hub was disconnected
• Hub was connected

Web Dashboard
Log in to your Aura Dashboard from any web browser to view and manage your Aura security system without your phone.
LOST YOUR PHONE?
Log out of your app from the dashboard to ensure your home and privacy are protected.
PHONE DEAD?
Arm or Disarm Aura from your computer or tablet.
NEED TO REMOVE AURA?
The Owner of the account will be able to remove Aura from the account.
HAVE AN ORANGE STATUS BAR?
Gain more insight into any problems occurring with your system.

IFTTT
Aura works with IFTTT so you can customize your smarthome automations. Use Applets built by
Aura or create your own!
AURA APPLETS
When Aura is armed and motion is detected you can…
• Receive an email
• Receive an SMS
• Turn on Nest Cam
• Turn on Philips hue lights
• Activate Wink shortcut
• Turn on Scout siren
• Sound D-Link siren
• Activate D-Link camera
Visit dashboard.aurahome.com
to turn on IFTTT notifications.

Settings
To access Settings, select the Gear icon from the Aura app navigation bar.
In Settings You Can:
• Manage the Hub and Sensor
• Add, edit, or delete household members
• Change notification preferences
• Manage automatic alarm preferences
• Find support info and product details
• Log Out
