Adobe SearchCenter + Feature Spotlight Creating custom reports and dashboards with Adobe® SearchCenter +, powered by Omniture® Adobe SearchCenter + offers a rich set of reporting and dashboard functionality, allowing search marketers to quickly view and understand the key metrics that define the success of campaigns and overall business. Dashboards With Adobe SearchCenter +, you can start with the default marketing dashboard or create a dashboard based on your specific needs. You can place graphics and data from reports on your dashboard, giving you the most relevant information at a glance. The default marketing dashboard displays key metrics related to your marketing initiatives, including: • Campaign conversions • Paid search engines • Natural search engines • Monthly unique visitors • Customer loyalty • Top products • Most popular products • Site operations Creating dashboards To use a dashboard, you must first create reportlets. Reportlets visually show how the data that you want to monitor is performing. You can place a reportlet in an existing dashboard or create a new dashboard for the reportlet. The following types of reportlets are available: Metric Gauge—Displays the success of the metrics that you set. Plain text—Creates your own data using XHTML code. Web resources—Creates a dashboard from a web page on the Internet. Company summary—Displays page views for the report suite that you select. Report suite summary—Displays a selected metric and its total, or high and low values, for a report suite. Usage summary—Shows data on Adobe SearchCenter access by people in your organization. This reportlet can show data by username, report, or report suite, as well as which report suites are accessed by unique users. Image—Shows a dashboard with information about the people who use your site. To create a reportlet from a report: 1. From the main navigation menu, click Reporting and select a report. 2.Click Add to Dashboard. 3. In the Report Title field, type a title for the reportlet. 4. In the Description field, type an optional description for the reportlet. 5. From the Place in Dashboard drop-down list, select the dashboard where you want the reportlet to appear. If you create a new dashboard, name it in the Dashboard Name field. 6. In the Date Range section, select the date range for the reportlet. 7. To prevent a publishing list report suite from overriding the report suite used for the dashboard, select Publishing List. Override. 8. If other options for the reportlet are available, provide the necessary information. 9.Click Create New. Custom reports You can create custom reports to share with other users in your organization. To create a custom report: 1. From the main navigation menu, click Reporting, and then build the report. 2.Click Create Custom Report. The Create Custom Report tool opens. 3. Type the name of the report and click Save. The new custom report is available from the main navigation menu under Custom Reports. Adding metrics to a report You can add metrics to your reports, in addition to the default metrics that you can configure in the Administration Console. Adding metrics lets you compare and contrast page views, revenue, visits, and many other items to track how well your website is performing. You can add up to 10 metrics. When you add metrics, Adobe SearchCenter + applies them to all applicable reports and graphic displays. To add metrics to a report: 1. From the main navigation menu, click Reporting, and then select a report. 2.Click Add Metrics. 3. In the Add Metrics screen, select a metric type. You can add any of the available metrics. All the metrics might not be available for a particular report type. Possible metric types include: Standard—Shows data for the date duration of your report. This is the set of metrics provided to you by Adobe. These metrics might contain custom metrics that you have defined for Adobe to collect for your website. Lifetime—Shows all data for all periods, regardless of the date range you have set for your report. Use these metrics when you want to see ratios of data between the current time frame and all data. Total—Shows data for all rows in a report. For example, a standard metric for cart additions shows the cart additions for one product, while the total metric for cart additions provides the total number of cart additions for all products. These metrics are generally used only as tools for creating calculated metrics. Calculated—Used to combine metrics and create mathematical operations to define new metrics for your reports. Participation—Divides credit equally among all pages accessed prior to a success event. For example, if a toaster was purchased as a success event, standard metrics give full credit to the page from which the purchase was made. Participation metrics divide the credit: If the visitor had looked at a page advertising a lamp prior to buying the toaster, the lamp page gets 50% credit, and the toaster page gets 50% credit.
