Frequently asked questions

To create a new group, navigate to the parent group, click on the '+' symbol, select 'New Group', and complete the required details.

Profiles are configurations that apply to groups, users, and devices. They allow you to control device functionality, restrictions, and configurable items like email settings.

To assign a device to a user, navigate to the user's profile, select 'Actions', choose 'Add Device', and search for the device you want to assign.

To install an app, navigate to the group's 'Apps' page, select 'Install an App', and search for the app from the App Store or upload an app from your computer.

Supervise Mode is a feature of Apple iOS devices that allows you to have greater control over the device. This mode is typically implemented from the outset before using MDM to manage the devices. The User Guide provides a pictorial walkthrough on how to accomplish this.

How to move a device to a different group?

To move a device to a different group, navigate to the group you want the device to join. Once inside that group, perform the following steps: 1. Select Add. 2. Choose Add Device from the menu. 3. Enter the name of the device in the search box. 4. Once the device is recognized, select Add to assign it to the new group. Note: A device can only exist in one group at a time. How to enable Supervised Mode for Apple iOS devices in Lightspeed and is it possible without a Mac?

Supervised Mode can only be enabled during the initial device setup using Apple Configurator installed on an Apple Mac. You must set 'Supervision' to 'On' within the 'Prepare' settings. If a device is already in use, it must be restored to factory default settings to enable this mode. Setup without an Apple Mac is not supported as Apple Configurator is a requirement.
